Beware prices ordering through Yelp are higher than placing your order over the phone, you also might end up with something you didn't order AND you automatically get a cheese pizza slice when you order the special online!! (Tho this wasn't the case the first time we ordered from this place a few months ago!!)Second time dining at Rosie's New York Pizza parlor, we were excited to be back for oily, pesto Pizza!! Yes, we love pesto! :) I placed my order online hoping pizza was ready once we arrived since kids were very hungry. As soon as I got to the door I realized that I had paid a few bucks more for each item I purchased online AND once we got our food, it was not what we ordered. :( This cashier wasn't too friendly and was a little apprehensive until she realized it was she whom had made the mistake of not reading my special institutions where I restated how I wanted the pizza.-I ordered a pizza and chose pesto as the sauce and on the instructions put "no red sauce. Just pesto sauce." Our pizza was full of red sauce with some pesto drizzled on top (picture shows what the difference is... We don't care much about tomatoe sauce).-I ordered a lunch special which includes a slice of pizza, a salad and a drink. Upon getting my boxed slice, I discovered that I ended up with a sad looking cheese pizza slice instead of being able to choose my own slice (I had eyed the combo or jalapenos since kids wouldn't be eating it). When I questioned why it was cheese, young lady said that when you order online your only option is cheese. Eewww!!! This was not the case when we went the first time! I was able to choose what slice of pizza I wanted, as well as the salad. -the garlic knots where delicious with their fresh garlic pieces. -like stated above, phoning in your order you get the lowest price and what's important is since someone is writing down what you want, it might be that they will not make a mistake when preparing your food. :)Unfortunately we had to come home with an unwanted cheese slice of pizza and although we said the tomato and pesto Pizza would be fine since the kids were hungry and started eating it, they still remade the only pesto Pizza and it was heavenly! Gentleman was very empathetic. We tried a different pizza place a few weeks ago and it only made us reminisce the delicious pesto Pizza we had at Rosie's so we had to come back! Lesson learned, when we return I will make sure to place my order over the phone so that I don't end up with a slice of sad cheese pizza (yup, still upset about this slice! Lol) and possibly wrong pizza and we will save some $ too! If you haven't had pesto only pizza, you should give it shot!! It's fresh and tasty at Rosie's. Oh and the two times we've been there, it hasn't been as loud as a costumer stated it was.

First I want to say this is a friendly neighborhood restaurant that has a philosophy of pleasing their customers! This is very endearing to me. If the food was better, I would be eating here all the time. So my issue is with the kitchen. My wife and I are fairly new to the neighborhood and the pizza wasn't very good at our first visit. I smelled an Asian Chicken Salad from an adjacent table at our first visit that smelled great, so I committed to giving Rosie's a second shot with dining-in again to order two specialty salads, the Asian Chicken Caesar salad and their Thai Chicken Caesar salad with garlic knots. The garlic knots (4/5) are very good. Lots of garlic flavor, served warm with a marinara sauce. The Thai Chicken salad (1/5) was supposed to have a Spicy peanut dressing. However when the salad arrived at our table, the salad looked and tasted like it was a honey mustard salad...even the chicken tasted like it was cooked with a honey mustard sauce. No flavors resembling Thai food, at all. The heavy use of turmeric was the only thing that resembled Thai. But didn't taste Thai. The dressed salad was also yellow with a flavor that resembled honey mustard. I thought, 'maybe the cook made a mistake?' I asked the nice lady at the order counter to look at the salad and tell me if the Thai salad is supposed to look like that? I didn't know...She insisted on making me a new salad. I said that wouldn't be necessary, just give me a side of the Thai salad dressing so I could see if it tasted like a Thai peanut sauce. She insisted they would make a new salad, and also brought me a side of the Thai dressing. She brought the Thai dressing. It did not have the flavor of a spicy peanut sauce. The side dressing had a sweet, nondescript flavor. It's possible the cook used what he/she was supposed to use. The new salad that was delivered to our table, tasted just like the first salad...turmeric heavy honey mustard. I know I'm blabbering on about this, but I do think if you're going to call something Thai, it should have SOME likeness to that flavor profile. I now know that my issue with Rosie's is definitely the kitchen. So although the service and people are going the extra mile to keep customers happy, I suspect they could have a stronger and more successful restaurant with a different and better head chef in the kitchen. BTW, the Asian chicken salad (3/5) where the great aroma originally pulled us in to give Rosie's another try, was just OK. I won't be back to Rosie's until I hear that they replaced their head chef.

BEST pizza I've had in San Jose! Rosie's brings East Coast flavors to the Bay Area with its New York pizza. The crisp was immaculate and the cheese is so gooey!!Pictured is the special $13.99 that comes with soda, slice of pizza, and salad. $18.99 for beer/wine. The owner threw in some free garlic knots for my first time. Already, A++ welcome and services. Absolutely amazing folks. This was such a STEAL because the pizza was the size of my head, salad was as big as an appetizer, and 3 fragrant garlic knots. I ordered the JR's special, which was marinara sauce, pepperoni, portobello mushrooms, onions, and drizzled in pesto. It was SO GOOD. The ingredients are fresh and the pesto - marinara mixture complimented each other with the nutty and tomato flavor together. Crust was so crunchy and thin, definitely nailing the flavors. First bite amazed me, and I had the salad to balance out the heaviness of pizza. I opted for the strawberry salad, which included Parmesan, pecans, lettuce, strawberry, and mozzarella pieces. There was a vinaigrette with it. So fresh!!! Whoever made the garlic knots FILLED IT WITH LOTS OF GARLIC! So buttery and soft!!! My mom kept asking for more when I took them home. Ambience, it's very cute and homey establishment in the neighborhood. It's adorned with Halloween festivities.

I ordered from this place for the first time this week and the food was really good! I'm tired of over processed food from restaurants. I could tell that this place makes everything in house. I ordered the wings and garlic knots and they were truly delicious. Also, I'm a ranch girl and their ranch was amazing! Can't wait to order again.

Th Eliza is delicious, when they make sure to make your pizza! Apparently they forgot to make one of our pizzas and we had to go back to see where it went? Delicious but please make sure you listen for what the customer orders and not forget to make it. Love the booth and small games. Not a busy place but staff does chat to each other a lot.

Aside from the chicken wings (great) , food was barely edible (tortellini was sour, ravioli sauce tasted like chef boyardee, and lasagna came with tons of cheese and looked so promising with super large portions but was gritty with a bland meat sauce, garlic knots were slightly undercooked and the marinara sauce that came with it tasted like tomato water)?and pizza was lackluster . We left everything but the chicken wings uneaten . I haven't been to a restaurant with food this bad in years

Do you need a quick fix for a slice or perhaps scratch that pasta itch? Rosie's will make it happen for you. The pasta portions are super generous (easily 2 meals for me). The pizza is definitely NY style, thin crisp crust that are large enough to fold and consume with much gusto. The dine-in vide is not NY neighborhood pizza joint though, more of a sports bar vibe. The garlic knots are delish but best eat fresh.

A New York hidden gem outside downtown San Jose. Not too far from the shark tank. If you want real New York pizza, then you must try this spot Jr. The owner. Has the best customer service and of course, the best pizza in town. This would be my 50th time coming here and my very favorite is the pineapple pizza or the Mushroom & Olive. If you're into salads, then you must try the Caesar chicken salad. It is the best by far. They have a nice little bar area where you could drink. And watch your favorite sports team. Give this place a shot.Trust me you will not regret it

Today was my first time trying this place. I was visiting San Jose today and was craving some pizza. This location came up and was close to the train station.I usually only get plain cheese pizza's at pizza shops. I dont like all those toppings. Got a small 12". Didnt take long to wait for it. It was brought to me nice and hot from the oven. I was happy to see it well done, not underbaked like some pizzerias tend to do. Sauce was great good amount of cheese. In all i really enjoyed the pizza and will definitely come back when im craving some pizza.
