We just came home from a family dinner at Mrs Khan's where the food was delicious, while also being excellent value for money. The staff were very courteous and the decor well presented. We enjoyed the pilau rice dish which was light and flavorful, and the lamb kabobs were to die for. Best new restaurant to open in Menlo Park for a long time!

Nice Uyghur spot in downtown Menlo Park. Plenty of street parking nearby. The owner and waitresses are very kind and attentive, making the dining experience enjoyable. We ordered the big plate chicken, hand pulled lamb (comes with soup), and some naan. We liked the flavor of the chicken. It could be a bit spicy for those who don't eat spicy food regularly, but is ok for us. The plate is pretty big, and we didn't finish the plate, but we felt there could be more chicken for the price. The lamb soup is pretty flavorful as well. Lamb is on the chewy side so personal preference. A bit of sauce or condiment for the lamb is recommended. Overall we enjoyed our meal and might come back if we are nearby craving for Uyghur food.

It's our first time trying Uyghur food. We came here on Fri night and were seated right away. The restaurant was kind of dark but at least the table had enough lighting. We ordered Bean Salad, Naan, Lamb Skewer, Stir-fried Noodles, and Chicken Korma. Naan was greasy but the meat filling was good. I wished there were more meat though. Stir-fried noodles was not bad and we thought the noodles could be more 'QQ' or bouncy. The star here was Chicken Korma. We ordered a small size and it was plenty for the 4 of us to share. Lots of chicken pieces and lots of flat noodles. The texture of the flat noodles was just right and it completely soaked up the yummy sauce. The seasoning was a bit numbing like Sichuan and a bit like middle eastern. It was a tasty dish. The lamb skewer came with 3 skewers and was also very good. I feel the menu can be expanded to include more vegetable dishes like stir-fried leafy greens. We were looking for more vegetables and there was only bean salad. And both the stir fried noodles and chicken korma had the same chopped up bell pepper and onions. So that's kind of disappointing. The service could be better. The wait staff was hard to find whenever we needed water or other stuff. If you never try Uyghur cuisine, you should try Mrs Khan.

I mean... probably one of the best restaurants in downtown Menlo! Highly recommend to come try their noodles and different meats! I love the spiciness and homemade and cozy vibes the place offers. I feel like I'm being taken care of by family when eating there! The gosh naan, spicy rice noodles, and chicken noodles are sooooo good!

I think I can speak for most everyone writing a review that this is my first time trying Uyghur food! It did not disappoint. In a seemingly sleepy area Mrs. Khan serves up authentic food in what we think is a converted hot pot or kbbq type spot. The booths are long and have grills on top that have been covered. We tried the Gang Naan, plum drink, green mint tea, the wonton soup and laghman noodles. It was around $40 per person for 2 people. The flavors were reminiscent of Chinese and Hungarian with lots of bell peppers and paprika. A bit sour and tangy but also a slight spice. They are unlike anything I've truly had! I recommend trying this place out for yourself!

Came here on a Saturday night around 530, and were seated easily. Service was quick. Parking was easy with street parking and parking lots nearby. We ordered the salty tea which was so good! Creamy and flavorful. Thought the salt would be unusual but actually went well to balance out the creaminess. Also ordered the chicken korma which was great. Not too spicy, chicken was tender, and noodles were tasty. It was a bit on the oily side but good overall. Also ordered the lamb dumplings which everyone LOVED. The ambiance was okay - there was this stale / smoky smell which I'm not sure the origin of. But when our food came we got lost in it :)

First time having Uyghur cuisine! The waiter was very attentive and all of our food was brought out quickly. The chili oil tastes homemade and it packs quite the punch! The standout dishes for me were the Gosh Naan - 5/5 the meat inside was thin and juicyLaghman Hand pulled noodles- great texture and flavorBeef Samoa- 5/5 preferred this over the chicken one!Lamb skewers- 3/5 it wasn't hot when we got it and I think I prefer Beijing lamb skewers but the meat wasn't gamey and very tender!Chicken korma- 3/5 the chicken texture wasn't for me but it had great flavor All the puff pastries were really tasty and made to perfection

Decided to try this restaurant for lunch. First time having Urghur cuisine so I have no idea what it's supposed to taste. The restaurant was rather dark with booths for seating. Waiter greeted us but did not ask if this was our first time dining there or if we had any questions. They were a little skimpy on the napkins. Napkins were small sheets of tissues. We ordered the Gosh Naan - like a roti stuffed with lamb meat. It was greasy and while the bread was crispy, I didn't like the filling. Was rather bland. We also had the lamb kebabs, orange chicken and the spicy rice noodles. The best dish was the spicy noodles but the proportion of noodles to meat was 3:1 more noodles than meat. The meat was very thinly sliced. For what they charge for this dish, I felt it was on the high side for what amounts to a bowl of noodles. Orange chicken was in an orange sauce. There's no orange flavor but had some orange color. The chicken was battered and fried. Flavor was flat. Lamb had some flavor to it but no umami taste to it. I'm not sure it's worth another visit. Was quite disappointing.

Authentic Uyghur cuisine. Loved the range of Lamb dishes - Dumplings, Kebab & Stew. The kebabs were tender & had an awesome cumin & chili rub. Liked the idea on having the stew separate from the plate of meat, to be had together with Naan bread. The hand pulled Laghman noodle was very different, spicy & tasty!Large comfortable place, service is bit on the slower side, but food is worth the wait.

I've had this spot bookmarked in my "Places to Try" collection for a while, and I'm glad my friend recommended it so that I can at long last cross it off my Yelp bucket list.We went in on Friday at 12:30pm, and was seated immediately. The place was fairly empty, there was two separate groups of 2, and then 2 sets of individual diners. Given the rave reviews, we were surprised by the relative emptiness. The place is uniquely decorated and interesting to look at. The lighting is a little dim, but not so much that you cannot see your food or your fellow diners. There is one spotlight above each booth though, so if you had a slightly larger party in your booth, you will have less light on the sides. The place is quite quiet though, the music was possibly on low (actually I can't even remember if there was any come to think of it), and everyone was respectfully quiet. My girlfriend and I probably were accidentally too loud for the space one in a while, and our voices would reverberate in the large but relatively empty place. In hindsight, it probably made sense there were a few folks dining on their own, probably trying to look for a quiet lunch to themselves (oops, sorry!).Service was decent. The staff member who attended to us was extremely friendly and was helpful when we tried to order the milk tea and informed us that it was salty (we decided against it, also because it was whole milk and we forgot our Lactaids). The food came out pretty quickly, some within minutes. Now you might notice that the other Yelp reviews rave about the chili oil, and agree it's pretty legit. However the one at my table was almost completely empty (a clear indicator that it's awesome), so I requested a fuller one and handed the empty jar to our attendant. This was unfortunately forgotten, and I joke that I ended up with even less chili oil than I started with. We were halfway between our meal before we decided to flag someone down to help bring us some, which came quickly afterwards. Now the food is great. What I didn't expect was that it definitely hit the nostalgia factor from my childhood when we lived in Beijing. It reminded me of the days when we chowed down on the mouth-watering cumin and fennel covered lamb skewers from a most definitely unlicensed and possibly sketchy vendor camped on the sidewalk. We ordered 4 items: 1) pumpkin manta, 2) hand-pulled laghman, 3) kewap cold noodles, and 4) honey jasmine tea drink.Everything was pretty great. I highly recommend the hand-pulled laghman - the noodles were perfectly cooked and chewy! The kewap cold noodles were okay - the lamb on top are fantastic (!!!!) but the noodles were lukewarm, not sure if they got heated up from the lamb on top, or not cooled down long enough, but given the middling temp it was a little less appetizing. The one strange thing was that the honey jasmine tea drink comes in a bottle and we were expecting a freshly brewed pot or mug of tea instead. It would be super helpful and appreciated if this was mentioned when we ordered it because it would have changed our mind. Note that it's 150 kcals and super sweet. We had to split it half-half with water to tone it down (I *think* the waiter mentioned it was sweet though, we just didn't expect this much).Overall, I enjoyed this place. The food is great, the service is pretty great too. The ambiance made us feel a little awkward, but most likely it's not them but rather us - it just wasn't the right environment at the time for two giggly women trying to catch up. I'll for sure be back, but maybe when I'm looking for a little quieter and more zen dining experience.
