Fall 2022 - Narrowed down 6 places for my significant other's parents to choose; treated them out for their birthdays. They've never been and the food and service was great. Very lively and spacious place - very busy - somewhat bustling. And little did I know, that this place is rated outside of yelp with many 'recognitions/awards'. After that night - said parentals introduced this establishment to their other relatives who also really like the food - however one couple already knew the owners eons ago. And they were all going without us for months. But, we had since all gone together for someone else's birthday at some point. There is not a dish I don't like here. Highly recommend everything.

Voted #13 of 100 restaurants Yelp 2024. This wasn't the reason why we came today. Coincidence. The ordering process:* grab a laminated double sided menu. * queue up * place your order & pay. * exit the line with your pager. * wait for staff to assign a table for you. Our order was placed at 11:55am. Hubby and I both ordered the traditional wrap:* he got the steak shawarma wrap.* I got the chicken shawarma wrap. Our pager lit up 30 minutes later. Hubby went up to the counter to retrieve the food. We've never seen such a small wrap. It was like a polish dog cut in 1/2. The meat was tasty and plentiful for what it was. Why did we order what we did? We thought we were going to save our appetites for dinner.Constant stream of diners eating in and plenty of take out orders. We noticed many office type workers. Busy busy busy. Our friends met us. They arrived at 1 pm. Got their orders under 10 minutes. We stayed awhile without fear of being kicked out. The manager even came by and asked how was everything. He said the food was Jordanian.Having been to both Morocco and Egypt, the food is very similar.Next time we'll order something like the signature plate or the wood fired plates - comes with two sides. We missed the restaurant. Looped around the block and parked across the street. Parking can be challenging. Landmark - Rolling Pin donuts across the street. There was a sign posted on the door - they're opening another location in Redwood City sometime this year.

I would rave about finding the best Mediterranean food in the Bay and this place definitely is worth the hype!! Super lively atmosphere and delicious food! Can get busy during the weekend but it's sooo worth the wait. Ordered the steak & chicken shawarma plates, roasted cauliflower, side of fries, pita, hummus, & tabbouleh salad.Sad that the San Bruno location is under renovations and will be waiting for them to come back, but the Redwood City spot is open!

Mazra is an experience. It's a party in the mouth, a celebration for the stomach, and a gathering for celebration and playful fun. If you're looking for delish Middle Eastern food from Lebanon, Mazra is your joint. Especially if you're coming with a group or are looking for a chill but joyous place to be. The vibe is communal and their neon lights give their open-window concept a young and lively feel. There are a few outdoor seating options if you're looking to conversate with less noise or if you bring a dog. Parking is rough, since there's a tiny lot, and most people find street parking as they're located in a busy residential area. BUT once you turn the corner, you KNOW it's Mazra from their delicious grilled meats smoke in the air. Their menu is easy to maneuver, tons of laminated copies so you can peruse while you're waiting in line because there most certainly is always a line that moves quickly. You order and pickup at their food window when your pager beeps. We loved their famous 6hr lamb plate which is 1000% fall-off-the-bone-tender, and is in a tomato-based sauce that is divine. Their rice steals the show, SO tasty. Veggies SO fresh, we got their potatoes and roasted veg which were the perfect bite. Their street fries with oyster mushrooms was too cold in temp and their fries were so good they truly hold their own as a side. I felt like we could've skipped it since we did have fries as a side, and that was enough. There's serve-yourself to go containers which we definitely used. Water is serve yourself, and I almost forgot that the pineapple cantelope juice was so refreshing and not too sweet. I love that there's always a sprig of mint in drinks. The pro tip: everybody that works here is literal eye candy. So it's a feast in all senses of the word. Love their slogan "take it easy habibi"

You know, I never thought I'd ever say anything negative about Mazra, but it looks like I do - them closing until December 2024 for renovations is really annoying. In part because it makes the timing of this post a little awkward (I knew I should've posted this a few weeks ago...), but mostly because my friend and I were supposed to come here yesterday! Ugh...and I had such a huge craving for their street wraps too!Ever since my first visit to Mazra, I've been in love with everything about this place. The outdoor seating is great, the overall vibes are super chill, all of the workers are very nice, and, most importantly, the food is amazing. The menu looks somewhat standard at a glance - they've got your usual sort of mezzas, wraps, salads, and kebab plates. However, a deeper look reveals its far more interesting than it appears - "street" wraps and fries, wood fried plates with proteins like grilled duck and branzino, garlic rotisserie chicken, 6-hour lamb shanks, octopus kebabs, arayes, and so much more. Even after just a few bites of trying everything, I already knew multiple return trips were going to be in order!-- STREET WRAP with Chicken Shawarma, Fries, Tzatziki Sauce, Tomato, Pickles, and Onions...$14It wouldn't be an understatement to say this was one of the best wraps I've had. The chicken was very flavorful with a slight char, the fries were still crisp (at the start, at least), and the veggies were all so fresh! Plus, I loved how the pita wasn't overly bready/thick.-- STREET FRIES with Halloumi, Fries, Tazatziki Sauce, Tomato, Pickles, and Onions...$14Exactly what loaded/nacho fries elsewhere could only hope to be. Not only were the fries still crispy underneath all of the toppings, but I loved how the halloumi was soft and gooey yet still firm to not make the fries soggy. I just wish we each had our own order...-- FALAFEL MEZZA SAMPLER - 4 Falafels, Arabic Salad, Tabbouleh, Hummus, Baba Ghanoush, Tzatziki, Dolma, Pickles, and Pita...$15Sampler? More like sampler meal! My friend and I ordered this thinking it'd be perfect for sharing, but we could barely make a dent in this. The falafels were crispy on the outside and piping hot on the inside while nearly all of the dips were terrific (my favorites were the hummus, tzatziki, and Arabic Salad).-- STREET WRAP with Lamb Kebab (+$1), Fries, Tzatziki Sauce, Tomato, Pickles, and Onions...$14While I think the chicken shawarma might have been slightly better (if only because I have a harder time finding a good one), this wasn't far behind. The slices of lamb were tender, well seasoned, and not at all gamey. Delicious!-- DOUBLE KEBAB PLATE - Beef Kofta and Chicken Kebabs with Two Sides (Baba Ghanoush and Hummus), Rice, Pita Bread, Garlic/Hot Sauce...$20My buddy mentioned that Mazra's double kebab plates were huge, but this was HUGE! The kofta was really juicy, the chunks of chicken were moist, the rice was soft, and I loved all of the vegetables. As for the sides, I still like the hummus best, but the baba ghanoush wasn't too shabby either!-- RASPBERRY LEMONADE...$5Of their rotating selections of juices and lemonades, this is my favorite. I've had it twice now and, both times, it was refreshing, not very tart, and not too sweet either. Their fresh cantaloupe juice is pretty good as well, but I'd opt for this one if I had to choose between the two.As delicious and amazing as Mazra clearly is, possibly the most surprising thing about my trips here is that, despite how popular they are, we've never had a problem snagging a table. Parking is similarly easy for the most part (they have two small lots, but there's decent street parking around), but despite how they usually have a (small) line, we've always been able to get seats immediately. Of course, it helps that they have a lot of tables, including a few that are perfect for larger groups.Between how good the food is, how nice the staff is, and just how convenient everything else has been, the closest thing I've had to a problem is finding a way to try everything I want to try on the menu. Even after making a handful of trips, it feels like I've only made a dent! I guess this is just going to be an ongoing challenge that I'm more than happy to take on!Mazra, come back soon - I don't want to have to drive to your Redwood City spot all of the time, though, I most certainly will for one of my favorite restaurants around!

These past few weeks have been full of signs and reminders that everything is temporary and to, therefore, don't strain to make things happen or place your hope in any one part of your life. On that note, something I do know is to do one thing that you enjoy every day to make the hustle worth it. Mazra was that one thing for me yesterday. I had heard really good things about Mazra, and I can see why.Besides the chicken and beef for the shawarma being a bit salty for me, everything else was perfect. I got the half chicken and half beef shawarma plate with a side of Baba Ghanoush and Cucumber Yoghurt. The flavors for everything were amazing. The texture of the Baba Ghanoush almost reminded me of a porridge/tapioca and was really unique (with the whole eggplant base). The Cucumber Yogurt was refreshing and had tons of chunks of cucumber that added a crunch. I also liked how they added pickled radish to the shawarma plate to add a bit of a palate cleanser. Additionally, I liked how the three sauces that came on the side were distinct (one was smokey, another slightly spicy, and one a creamy almost garlic butter). The rice base was cooked perfectly. Other than that, the place itself is packed with tables, some for groups of four and others super long and communal. The service was good. Lastly, I appreciated how they provided this strong, delicious hot tea for free near the utensils area.Prices were decent.

Definitely a great restaurant! Great food, great service, however I'd say the space is much too small and compacted for the many customers that come to dine-in. Ordered lamb chops which comes with rice, pita, and two sides, the whole roasted cauliflower, and the mezza sampler. There were a few more menu items i wanted, but ,for now I had plenty on my table. Easy process coming in ordering and paying at the front counter, find a place to sit, your given a buzzer and when it buzzes you go pick up your tray. Definitely coming back for the cheese rolls, lamb shank, and chicken kebab...

Glad we got to try this place out before their renovations. Visited in March 2023. This place is busy! Glad we came at a good time where we found street parking and the line was short. We wanted to order almost everything. lol. Anything you try on the menu is pretty good. I would definitely get the whole cauliflower head. The portion sizes are plenty. The photos I posted, we split the food amongst 4 adults and a 5 year old. And we still had left overs. Hopefully with the renovations they'll have a lot more seating and air circulation. It was pretty packed inside and I would have loved to have sat outside where it wasn't so cramped and the weather was perfect.

Came the day before they closed for renovations. Super busy. Had to wait at least 30 mins for the food.Grilled Cauliflower 4/5 delicious. I like the spices. Comes with a chipotle type dipping sauce.Lamb and kofta kabob 4/5 good I feel like there could have been more meat for the price but delicious also; comes with pita bread and 2 sides. The sides I got were hummus and babaganoush. Both were good.I'll have to try their other items when they reopen/try at their other location.

We were visiting friends in the area and they brought us here. We were not disappointed! We do have to stand in line to order our food first. Once we order our food, we add our name to a waitlist. When a table opens up, the employees will seat the party. Parking is pretty limited, keep that in mind if visiting at a busy time. The food was delicious! We ordered the Double Kebab Plates, thinking that it was only going to be enough for one person each plate. We were wrong. With the extra sides that we ordered and drinks, we were stuffed! We tried the mint lemonade and the raspberry lemonade. Both were fantastic! It's really hard to choose a favorite. The sides we ordered were fries, hummus, Arabic salad, dolma and a side of tzatziki. Personally, I would skip the fries and hummus, everything else was delicious and would order again!Overall, definitely would come back and recommend!
