I'm a huge fan! Michele made me the most lovely custom cake. I'm obsessed with her buttercream recipe. It was exactly what I wanted and I couldn't be happier. Michele was so helpful too and the communication was on point. I rate this transaction 453/10. You can bet your buttercream I'll be back!

Support your local businesses! Made Out of Dough is one of those businesses :) Also, why get a boring cake from a chain store? This bakery operates out of a ghost kitchen in Belmont and also has pop ups and is available at some farmer's markets.I ordered an Island Style cake for my husband's birthday recently. I've tried to order this cake late last year but they were too busy for custom/cake orders at that time. Boo. But, I was happy we were able to try ordering and succeeding this time! The cake itself. To be honest I was slightly afraid when we cut into it because it looked dry (because of the color?). It was NOT. It had beautiful guava filling, strawberries, and a great ratio of cream and cake. It was moist and delicious! This is definitely a wonderful cake to try with its unique flavors.The only con here was that communication was chaotic. I get that this is a small business, but I would recommend emailing rather than calling for orders. Regardless, in the end, they came through totally fine (and were so flexible and kind in communication) and we LOVED the cake. We would a thousand percent try their cake again for a special occasion. There are SO many interesting flavors available too!

So happy I found them on Yelp! I was tired of paying highway robbery prices for cupcakes. Last week I paid $39 for a dozen of minis, plus an additional $12 to put pink ribbon on it (for breast cancer awareness).Michelle was able to make me a dozen foe $27, no charge for the ribbon. Hands down this is a win-win situation. I have my cupcakes and I was able to support a small business. Also ordered some strawberry guava scones (super moist and yummy, not too sweet) and some island style cupcakes guava and strawberry). Forgot to take a pick of the ribbon cup cakes but here are the scones and island cupcakes They have tow pick up locations, one off of 92 and 3rd Ave. The other on Old county in belmont Definitely give Michelle a call!

Tried their honey honey cake for my father-in-law's birthday and it was a hit! We look forward to try other flavors for our family's occasions. They were easy to work with and accommodating.

This place is SO fantastic. They made a custom smash cake for my daughter's first birthday and I'm using them again for her actual birthday cake because I loved the cake so much. Here's what makes Made Out of Dough great..1) the owners are so nice to work with 2) they really work with you to capture what you want for ca custom cake 3) the cakes are nice looking 4) fair prices 5) but none of the above matters if the cake taste bad & their cakes are absolutely delicious. Real ingredients! I can't tell you how many cakes I've ordered from other places that I can tell are not using quality ingredients. I would give them 10 stars of if I could. HIGHLY recommend.

I've written a review before. Deb, my niece Michelle and I stopped by their booth at the San Carlos Farmers Market today. My niece hasn't had the chance to try any of Courtney and Michele's goods soooo, picked up a few for her to try. I cannot speak for others, but everytime I see C&M it's always nice to not just get treats, but to talk with them. They're good people that make good baked treats. Stop by to see them and try. Not that I'm biased.....AHEM, but maple bacon scone is a must.

Can't recommend Made Out of Dough enough! I worked with Michele for my daughter's 3rd birthday cake. After a call and some emails with photos I'd found from Pinterest, Michele customized a lovely doggie cake (the theme of my daughter's birthday), complete with her favorite color purple flowers and a little heart nose. Michele was responsive, flexible to my design ideas and made the whole experience easy and fun - plus the confetti cake was delicious! Another reason to support this business: Michele operates a small business (just her and her partner), but still makes time to support her community by donating goods to the Samaritan House and schools. This company is making the world sweeter in so many ways. :)

We set out with some very specific dreams in our search for a wedding baker, and we are happy to report that Michele met and delivered upon all our hopes! As our wedding was Christmas themed, we knew we wanted the decorations to be gingerbread themed. She was very thoughtful in designing a cake that fit the bill, as well as finding an adorable gingerbread bride and groom topper from Etsy to fit perfectly!We are particular with our desserts - we were not drawn to a basic chocolate and vanilla situation, but rather we dreamed of unique flavors. Her red velvet, churrodoodle, and custom flavor - orange creamsicle were as unique as they were delicious! We would describe the flavor of their cakes as follows: cake - sweet, nicely dense, and moist; frosting - very generous ratio, supremely thick, and divinely sweet. As we are not fans of the more typical wedding cake profile (lighter, less sweet cake; whipped, less sweet frosting), this was a dream come true for us!If you are looking for a unique, not cookie-cutter (pun intended) cake that packs sweetness, bold flavors, and doesn't taste like boring bakery cake, look no further!

I placed a custom order and was so please at the way our special order turned out! Not only were our custom cookies gorgeous and received a ton of compliments , the taste was outstanding !!!! Best custom cookies ever!!!! I will definitely be ordering again!!! In addition to the excellent quality , the customer service was fantastic! Loved our experience!!!!

Ordered a custom birthday cake for my 3yr old and mini cupcakes from Michele and her team. Submitted the request online and finalized details and cost over the phone. Michele came up with some design ideas that my daughter loved. It. Quick. Easy. Efficient. And honestly similar cost to Susie Cakes and other local similar businesses. We got a 8" cake w a pink Spiderman thene and mini cupcakes (churro w pink butter cream, birthday cake and raspberry and jam flavor). Made fresh on the day. Loved by all the kids and parents. Will definitely recommend to friends. And we'll happily work with this crew again anytime we need cakes or pies (their pumpkin pie might be the best one)
