Growing up just minutes from the original Little Lucca's in South SF, I'm surprised it took me this long to try their second location. At first glance, it's much bigger than the original and has a more modern sandwich shop feel.I got the Chipotle Chicken Caesar on Dutch crunch... toasted! The biggest difference at this location is that they can toast the bread. Overall, the sandwich was good, but honestly, I wish I had stuck with my usual order, the Ultimate Club. The quality is similar to the original, but I'll always give the edge to the South SF spot. The line was decently long, as expected, but I'd come back if I were in the area. The toasted bread is a nice addition, though it makes it harder to save for later since it tastes more stale when reheated or eaten later.

Visiting the Bay Area and heard great things about Little Lucca. Decided to order online for pickup and my order was ready quickly. I think this is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Dutch crunch is always the way to go.

What a treat! The line moves quickly at this popular deli. The sandwich can be messy as the house way has everything on it in the refrigerator. Next time I think I'll be more selective, lol. Portions are massive so consider sharing. Lots of fresh bread selections to choose from and most selections are toasted/heated before serving. I think I'm going to return soon to try the meatball sub!

Eh it was alright. 3.5 rounded down.Apparently this is the best sandwich place in the Bay Area, according to many people. The original location is in south city but I was only in the city briefly and in comparing it to the Burlingame location I noticed the Burlingame location had a better parking situation.I waited 15 minutes in line and then when it was finally my turn I ordered a Double Beef and Lucca Combo. I wanted both on Dutch Crunch but apparently I got the last single Dutch Crunch for the Lucca Combo and had to get Italian on the Double Beef (I heard at least 1-2 people groan behind me in line when they heard they were out of Dutch Crunch, it sucks but hey don't groan at me I wasn't the one running out of Dutch Crunch midday). If you've been introduced to Little Lucca cause you picked some of these up before heading to the games or it's just your sandwich spot in your town, there's nothing that can change that.I came up from the South Bay to try it out. I feel like I had less bias here, and I was willing to give them a fair shake. Portions are bigger, but let's face it the bread is also a significant reason for that. The pic of the Lucca Combo with Dutch Crunch may look average, but the Italian with Double Beef the beef was monstrous. When a sub is too bready it just doesn't hit right with me.They also did not toast/nor ask if I wanted my subs toasted. Also big man (bless his soul he was very friendly and kind) making my sandwich keep scooting the sandwich counter forward (it's on wheels) and it kept backing up into me and other customers waiting/watching them make our sandwiches. I guess homie was using core muscles every time he lurched forward to reach for the toppings. I had to scoot the sandwich counter back for them. Obvious incoming hyperbole but it felt like Loma Prieta happening to me and my sandwiches.

I've have been coming to this location for well over 12 years now and this place usually never fails. Today I switched it up from my usual ham sandwich with Monterey Jack cheese to their ULTIMATE specialty sandwich with the works (minus mustard). The ultimate comes with ham, turkey, bacon and cheese.Overall I give the ultimate sandwich a 7/10 (the bacon was soggy) and it's super thin almost like microwaveable bacon. Also got a side of potato salad (I don't know if they changed the recipe but it was not as good as it had been before). It has tasted off the last couple times. It's a 2/10 for me. The service was pretty fast for a Saturday. I wish the inside still had tables to sit down eat but they don't anymore. *See pics for reference

sandwich so big you probably can't open your mouth wide enough for it hahaDon't bother me. This is one of those don't talk to me I'm eating places. Usually grab it to go and eat in the car. Can't wait to get home so just eat it right away. Tastes best fresh anyway so the sauce doesn't make your bread all soggyHow Can a sandwich taste so good. Just incredibleMassive! You'll want to share or save the other half for another meal. That is if you can even finish one halfGo to's:-Italian salami on Italian bread-chipotle firebird on Dutch crunchLong line, sometimes 10 people in front of you. Even at 2pm. Sometimes not.Def shorter line than the other more well known locationFree parking lot

I've been going to Little Lucca for basically my entire upbringing and I am finally writing a review for one of the best sandwich shops in the Bay Area. That garlic sauce is one of the best sauces I have ever had in a sandwich. Their dutch crunch is top tier. When I visit, this Little Lucca in Burlingame is just as busy as the South SF location, but feels a little less crowded in comparison. Customer service is efficient and straight to the point because they gotta get the big crowd moving. My go to is simple which is the the Lucca Combo Sandwich ($14.25) with everything EXCEPT the hot sauce and also no pickles because ew to pickles (sorry). What the Lucca Combo consists of is their Mortadella, provolone, salami. If you're in the mood for a sandwich with cold cuts then this sandwich is like heaven. Topped with their garlic sauce you will be over the moon. You can really taste that garlic flavor and it goes so well with every sandwich they have. You can't go wrong. Also these sandwiches are MASSIVE. Like worth two meals or if you're with someone else you can easily split one sandwich. Also a warning. Do not eat these in your car. It can get real messy with how loaded the sandwiches are. The parking lot outside is huge, but can still be a pain to find parking during peak hours with all the stores nearby. There is no seating available also so this is more of a grab and go type of place.10/10 would recommend Little Lucca to anyone that needs a sandwich spot to go to.

FLAVOR (4/5): I love their pesto sauce here! They also don't skim on any of the ingredients here which is appreciated. The dutch bread itself is good but I feel like Ike's is slightly better. Definitely a sandwich you have to eat right away because otherwise it gets soggy really quick! INSTAGRAM WORTHY (4/5): A beautiful sandwich cross section. The sandwich is the size of my thigh (not kidding) and it's a cute little shop in a plaza that sells them! SERVICE (3/5): Lots of people making sandwiches but only one cashier. Some people buy dozens of sandwiches so it's really backed up sometimes! TAKEAWAYS: Solid sandwich spot, not cheap for a sandwich though. Really more than enough food for 2 people to share one sandwich.

Got the two meat create your own with the mortadella (yum!) and prosciutto. Two meat create your own is actually cheaper than if you get the prosciutto itself (but more expensive than the mortadella alone). I opted to add cheese to it and wanted it toasted. You should probably tell them this before they put on the sauce. My sandwich guy was really confused (he seemed kind of new though). I didn't mind the sauce toasted though, so it was fine. I asked just to toast the half of the bread with the cheese. This time I also opted for the focaccia. Usually always get Dutch crunch. I think I made the right choice as the focaccia went nicely with the mortadella and prosciutto combo. Nothing really stand out about the focaccia but dutch crunch usually cuts my mouth.Overall, huge tasty sandwich, plenty for 2 not too hungry people to share. They already cut in half for you. Went at ~10am, no line. Perfect to grab before a day out. We took to curiodyssey and had a nice picnic lunch.

Went to little Luca's again for a nice sandwich. I always usually get the Luca combo. I tried the sandwich on sourdough instead of my usual Dutch crunch this time. The sourdough was pretty fresh and delicious. It was nice and chewy. Going forward I can go either way with sourdough and Dutch crunch. It just depends on what I prefer for the day. Can't wait for my next sandwich here.
