This is such a cute Hawaiian/Filipino themed brunch spot! Boyfriend brought me here to meet his mom and sister, and this was the perfect place to do so. Ube pancakes look absolutely amazing, and I hear rave reviews of them. However, for this brunch, I got the ube chicken waffle. I LOVE chicken and waffles, and so the ube twist with mochiko chicken was pure gastronomical heaven. I tried a bit of my boyfriend's loco moco, which was also very good. There was live music playing during our brunch. The guy playing the saxophone was great! Being here totally made me miss Hawaii, and I totally want to go back to Hawaii! It's a bit of a small and crowded spot, but this is a very nice, intimate spot for a delicious ube-filled brunch. Would happily return! I'm just dreaming of the ube waffles and mochiko chicken!

Hawaii girl here! Very much tiki bar decor haha. Great service, idk if I spoke with the owner but he was super nice. Came in with no reservations and got seated right away. But I expect there might be a wait time during peak hours since the restaurant isn't super big. We ordered:-beef loco moco-mochiko chicken eggs BenedictBoth tasty! I love the bibingka cornbread that came with the eggs benny. I would get again!

My girlfriends and I came here for brunch and were so impressed by both the food and service! Their take on Hawaiian fusion is creative and absolutely delicious.I added an espresso shot to my ube latte, and it gave me the perfect coffee kick to start the day. The real standouts? The lilikoi pancake and the sisig plate--both recommended by our server, and they did not disappoint! Fluffy, flavorful, and a must-try.Already looking forward to my next visit!

Cute little joint of asian fusion. My friends and I all got the loco moco. I got the combo of kalua pork and chicken, with sunny side eggs. Meat was tender, salad was divine, and the gravy was overflowing. We also loved the spam fries with several dips. Just crispy and right. Lots of umami. The place was quite small so I do recommend reservations, and it was a friday night so it was pretty packed. Our server, Nick was also so great. Very animated, funny and entertaining. My friends also tried the some drinks and they all enjoyed it as well. Would come back to try more items from the menu.

I been here a few times now so I guess I should review. I have sat in the high tables for brunch every time. The food & drinks are super good/ unique. I of course come for the UBE flavored foods/ drinks but they have much to offer inspired by the islands. Everything I have eaten was about a 3.5/5 or 4/5. Service is good too it usually takes a bit longer for food to come out. Its smaller place but I would recommend trying it for sure!

Hula Hoops has been on my brunch list to try for so many years, and I finally got to try it since I was finally in the South San Francisco area. I highly recommend this spot! Me and my friend got the side of Ube Toast as well as their Kale Pork Loco Moco. The toast was great; not overly sweet and the fruit and cream on the top really added to it. The Loco Loco was impressive as well. A very big portion, so definitely sharable. The kalua pork was delicious, pretty much like you'd get in Hawaii and the Mac salad was yummy as well. Their service was also amazing as well! I was surprised how fast the food came out. We were in and out in about 30 minutes; the service was that fast and the food that good. I will definitely be back; really want to try their drinks and other brunch items!

Hula Hoops is a must-visit! From the moment we walked through the door, the service was incredible. Our server, Nick, was absolutely amazing--his warm welcome and hilarious sense of humor had us smiling the entire time. He truly made our experience one of a kind. The atmosphere was just as impressive. The fun tiki statues and the intricate decor transported us straight to the islands. The lounge was a highlight, with lights crafted from the tiki mugs they sell--it doesn't get more unique than that! And the food? Absolutely phenomenal. We shared an incredible spread, including the loco moco, seafood pan, beet salad, spam fries, lumpia, and spam musubi. Every dish had its own unique flavor and flair, and each one was a perfect taste of the islands. It was like being back in Hawaii with every bite.I can't recommend Hula Hoops enough. From the unbeatable service to the stunning ambiance and unforgettable dishes, this place is top-notch. I'm already planning my return, especially since they have live music on Thursdays. If you're looking for a little piece of paradise, this is it! We thank you

Hula Hoops is a very aesthetic place, nice decor. It is a smaller sized restaurant and the lighting is a bit dark, but I could imagine it's nicer at night.I wanted to call to see if they were busy, but the phone just leads you to an automated ai voice. Not helpful especially when this place doesn't have a yelp waitlist either. We came here day after new years as well and ONLY 1 SERVER...... it definitely slowed down the whole flow of the store. But then another server came out to help. We got their ube chicken and waffles which was what drawn me to the place, and their loco moco with half pulled pork and half fried chicken. Both dishes were really good. I like how eggs were included in the chicken and waffles as well, however I wished I asked to swap out for fruits instead..... I also chose to get a side of the mac salad on the side. Delicious. Each dish is definitely enough to split between two as well.Attached are screenshots of their online menu, and what's cool is that you could get a free tiki mug when you complete the tiki passport!!Rating is more of a 3.5 stars because of the phone and not guaging how busy it would be and having only 1 server initally - causing longer wait times to be seated & order food.

After visiting Hula Hoops 5+ times, I have to say they are a true 5 star Yelp establishment! Food smacks and service is friendly. Tiki bar vibes with Hawaiian inspired decor and music.Came for brunch and their Ube Waffle 5/5 is amazing. Sweet Ube/macapuno flavor with a fluffy yet dense mochi-like consistency. Their drinks consistently pack a punch but are on the sweet side. They provide generous portions for drinks in their taller cups, making them a one & done or I'm just lightweight now. Braised pork rib & kimchi fried rice - 5/5 - soft, tender, juicy, warm with teriyaki flavors. Kimchi fried rice is subtle and creates the perfect combination.
