When I lived near Milpitas, I would frequent Giorgio's in Milpitas. It's a great place to enjoy casual dining alone or with a group. The San Jose location is no different. My first time here (San Jose location), I came for a catch-up lunch with one of my cousins. Giorgio's is great for this because it's loud enough that our chatting and laughter is not a bother to anyone, but quiet enough for us to hear each other easily. The food here is pretty consistent, but I will say that when I order deliver via DD my pasta tends to be overcooked a bit. Hazard of carryover heat, I suppose.I always have to get sausage bread and calamari when I'm here. It's a "thing" now. Now, I still find myself driving out to the Milpitas location for their trivia nights. A friend and I even won once!

I've tried Gio's a few times via door dash upon friends recommendations. I dismissed the food quality based on the togo time warp, etc. I decided to try Giorgio's in person for the first time to celebrate my loves birthday at lunch as we were in the area. I couldn't have been more disappointed. First-- the lemon chicken soup I ordered was absolutely delicious...little did I know, it was one of the few fresher tasting options. Seafood Pasta Cioppino-- you should know better than to serve frozen seafood in San Jose, especially at the price point. The sauce was good, but a bit uneventful. Not eventful enough to take away from chewing an octopus tentacle for five minutes (frozen). The white fish was glassy. The seafood was of low frozen quality. Disappointed for such a staple Italian joint in Willow Glenn. Gnocchi w house (NY Style) ragu -- a BIG nope on the gnocchi. The texture was chalky. The sauce was super fennel heavy, which isn't my preference. I am not one to not eat my food, even if it doesn't meet my expectations but this dish was inedible to me. I'm giving two stars for the service (waiter was perfect) and the chicken lemon soup. The ambiance was good, but judging by the customers that afternoon (it was packed)...perhaps their tastebuds are no longer full functioning, or they've been coming here so long they know the good things on the menu, which I must have missed. Summary, With a bill way over 100$, I'd expect higher quality Italian food...the good server should receive a cut of that bill as he was the only saving grace to our visit.

The Food is a 4 starThe place is clean 4 starhost is the front 4 starThe waitress should not assume you speak Spanish based on the color of your skin. If a customer is ordering in fluent English it's disrespectful to respond in Spanish and it's extremely naive to reply in Spanish after you responded numerous times in English. Improper training leads to this types of service

The calamari appetizer and bread here is good. I say 4-5 stars on those 2 items. However, my entree was not something I'll ever order again. The Italian sausage calzone was so bland, I had to pour some cream of mushroom soup. The side of tomato sauce that came with the calzone just didn't do it for me.Yes, the service is a bit slow as others mention. The ambiance is standard. Not overly elegant, but fine for families. I promise I'll give this place another chance as my friend is a frequent guest here. He said his chef salad looks smaller than normal. Oh well, maybe just a bad day (2 days before Xmas).

This additional comment here is for the Manager who just replied. Unfortunately 'sorry' doesn't make how awful this experience was any better. For a restaurant that is famed for its longevity in San Jose, combined with reading the recent 1-star reviews, I would be concerned for where the business is headed. And try to make amends immediately. As mentioned in my original review below, if the manager on the day happened to just address the 30 or so crowd of people waiting for their pick-up orders with an apology or perhaps a complimentary drink or another menu item, or even a discount - it couldv'e made a world of difference. ----------------------------Christmas Eve is already a busy day, so we decided to simplify things by ordering takeout from Giorgio's on Foxworthy. I called at 4:50 PM to place my order, knowing they closed at 6 PM. They assured me the food would be ready in 30-35 minutes.Arriving at 5:30 PM, I hoped to avoid waiting by giving them extra time. The restaurant was packed with dine-in and takeout customers. The staff at the register quickly processed my payment and handed me the calamari, saying the rest of my order would be ready in 5-8 minutes. However, I soon realized other customers had been waiting over an hour for their orders.Twenty minutes passed, and I checked on my food--again, they told me 5 more minutes. Priority clearly went to dine-in patrons and catering orders. By 6:15 PM, I was frustrated and ready to cancel, but having already waited so long, I decided to stick it out. Shockingly, I discovered my order hadn't even been started until 6:20 PM after yet another inquiry.I understand that Christmas Eve is busy, but realistic timelines or acknowledgment from the manager could have made a world of difference. Instead, customers were left in the dark, repeatedly told "5 more minutes."Finally, I received my food, only to find the calamari soggy and chewy from sitting out for so long. To top it off, my fettuccini Portofino inexplicably included random penne pasta mixed in.This experience was extremely disappointing. Poor service, chaotic organization, and mediocre food left a sour impression. Unfortunately, I won't be returning to Giorgio's, and I would advise others to think twice before visiting.

My boyfriend's family has been coming here for years, and as true Italians they never make homemade pizza without picking up some dough from here. We came here with a large group of around 12 for his grandmas birthday, and there were quite a few errors. 4 of the dishes came out incorrect, but they were all pretty good. The servers were overtaxed and so sometimes snippy when having to deal with the problems. We will be back because this is a staple, but would love to see the service stepped up

I do not know why anyone would go here. Came here for retirement part. Food took over an hour to come after we ordered. The lasagna was cold in some sections and the pasta was hard. The interior looks really dated and not clean or up-kept. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

It's been 10+ years since I've been here, and unfortunately, tonight was disappointing. This place for sure has a classic vibe inside, and they seem to be busy so they must be doing something right. However, our dining experience was mediocre at best tonight. Service was fine and our waiter was nice. We were seated quickly and our food came out pretty quickly. The complimentary bread was good. We had the minestrone, the chicken parmagiana, and the lasagna. All 3 were ok, but lacked seasoning. The parmagiana was dry. The lasagna's meat was dry - it was almost like jerky. The pasta sauce lacked flavor and was a bit bland. Overall, was left VERY underwhelmed by the food.

Giorgio's is a family-friendly restaurant with a variety of Italian style dishes. While they do have a lot of options, I'd rate the food average. Nothing really stood out to me visually or flavor wise. It was pretty basic which accounts for my rating as average. The service was good and staff was friendly and they have a clean and cozy atmosphere.

I came here on a weekday with my parents for my Dad's birthday. We had a 6:15pm reservation and were immediately seated. We were given ice water and warm bread n butter. We ordered calamari as an appetizer to start. Then we ordered our main dishes. I got the chicken and shrimp fettuccine (Alfredo). I forgot what my parents ordered, but I tasted them and thought they were both good. The fettuccine had lots of chicken and mini shrimp that were cooked perfectly. The sauce was creamy and flavorful. I ate about 1/4 of the pasta and I was full. For my dad's birthday, they sang and gave us a free ice cream with a candle. Overall, the food was well made and the service was pretty good. They were attentive and filled my water 3-4 times throughout our dinner.
