"Barrel Bistro was a great choice for our small start-up's holiday luncheon (16 people). The tables were set up when we arrived, while the food and drink choices for both the appetizers and main menu items appeared promptly and together which is tough to do for a large party and a hallmark of a well run backend. Most importantly, everything tasted excellent!I ordered the skirt steak while others at my table had Lobster Risotto, Seafood linguini and the hamburger sliders. That's a wide range of choices so we were joking about who would have "order envy", wishing they had chosen someone else's menu item rather than their own. No one did - all items looked and tasted on point. For appetizers we ordered a cheese sampler (good, but didn't stand out) and an excellent Chorizo Shortbread that disappeared quickly. Wines by the glass and beers arrived with this first round. The wine list was excellent with some affordable choices along with higher end choices that had higher end prices (Side note, it may be a while before I drink Silver Oak, Deep Cliff, or Caymus again! I loved it when they were lesser known and at the upper end of affordable). The wait staff was professional and attentive without being intrusive. Barrel Bistro was a great choice for us and would also be an excellent choice for anyone else that wants something special for lunch or dinner in downtown San Mateo. Five stars!"
"I had dinner here with a couple of friends and it was my first time. We ordered the San Daniele pizza, paccheri, and the spaghetti di mare. The pasta dishes we ordered were perfectly al dente. The paccheri was a bit salty. The San Daniele pizza was cooked perfectly and was well balanced. The service here was friendly and attentive. The interior has a sophisticated feel with the slightly dim lighting."
Taste our savory short ribs, braised to perfection and served with creamy garlic mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and a rich demi glaze sauce. A true comfort food delight.

"I've eaten here twice. The first time was well over a year ago and spontaneously. It was a warm Friday afternoon for dinner. They sat us in the back which was nicely set up. The service was very kind and attentive. I appreciated how they were welcoming to my young child despite it being a white linen table. They showed no fear of a child ordering pasta with marinara! Haha The second more recent time we ate here was planned although I forgot to make a reservation. Still, no problem. They took our party of four and offered us a seat outside immediately or inside with a 30-45 minute wait. We took the outside despite the cold. They had heaters nearby although they did let us know the one directly next to us wasn't working. It was during winter holiday time so they were a little busy but the service was still very kind. They apologized for the waits but we understood. The bread came out and was warm and yummy. When our food came out, everyone was pleased with their orders. We'll plan to come here again."
"Centonove is one of my favorite restaurants in Los Gatos. It's our go-to spot for my friends and me. Our favorite drink is the Pear Martini--it's so delicious and dangerously easy to have too many! The first time I went, we ordered pizza, which was a great choice, especially since they offer gluten-free and vegan options. However, since then, I've become partial to their Fiocchi di Pera--pasta pockets with pear and cheese in a Gorgonzola cream sauce. Absolutely divine! The staff is knowledgeable and super fun, adding to the great atmosphere. I highly recommend making a reservation, especially on weekends, as seating--both indoors and outdoors--is limited. But even if you have to wait, it's definitely worth it!"
"Genuine and really good. A must go. Went there with a customer. Ordered the appetizer plate. Every one of the items was excellent. The chicken kabobs were awesome. Try it"
"I'm always trying to find good food deals in SF, and Fiorella has one of my favorite ones! On the last Monday of every month, they have certain pastas, pizzas, and wine for $10, and lower priced appetizers. I had to book my reservation 2 months in advance though, but luckily there are 2 other locations in SF (Polk and Sunset) you can try to reserve too! We picked the Neopolitan Pizza (and added the pepperoni, mushroom, and sausage toppings) and the Lumache Fra Diavolo pasta. I loved the spice with the pasta, and the sauce was so creamy and flavorful. We also ordered the meatballs which were some of the best meatballs I've had in SF. The $10 house red wine was great, and they definitely gave us more than 1 glass worth (felt like 2 glasses with the carafe they gave) which is a steal! One thing to note was that their back patio seating only allowed service dogs, which is the first time I've been in a restaurant in SF where they didn't allow dogs to sit outside or on the patio. Other than that, I had such a great experience here! I do think it's a little overpriced to come here on a normal night, so I highly recommend trying to get a reservation on the last Monday of the month, so much more worth it."
"Good food, small portions. We came on Valentines weekend, ordered oysters and French oinion soup for starters. My husband got the monkfish and I got the gnocchi. Both were good. Dessert was a raspberry bomb, which was nice."
"I love the Wine Cellar Restaurant! I love the outdoor patio seating, with umbrella tables, little lights at night, and fresh air, even though you are basically in the parking lot. Indoors, there is a very quaint ambience that feels a bit like Tuscany. There is a raised area with some tables, and a lower floor, as well as a few tucked into corners. And, for those with mobility issues, we found out there is a little freight elevator that can be used to get you down the stairs if eating indoors. One of the highlights is the cheese fondue. We had that in Switzerland for the first time many years back, and this was one of the few restaurants that served it in our area. It is delicious, although, there is not enough cheese to cover the variety of things on the platter--usually bread cubes, red apples, green apples, broccoli, & cauliflower. I wish they would give you more cheese so that you could finish off your platter. Instead, you end up wasting food. But just having this, with a glass of wine, with a friend, and you have a nice appetizer! The Old Town Harvest Salad is very good, as is the Seared Ahi Salad. I was recently here with people who tried the Chicken Marsala, the Grilled Artichoke, and the French Onion Soup, which were also said to be good. They also have a nice selection to drink: we recently tried their Old Fashions, which took me back in time. It was tasty, and came with a fresh cherry (vs. a Maraschino), and their wine selection is also nice. It just has an enjoyable atmosphere to have a meal. I would give it 5 stars, but had an incident one time with one of the waiters who has been there a long time, where some people had left from another table that we didn't know, and he hadn't charged them for part of their order, so he put it on our tab. When we pointed it out, he said, "Well, those people have already left..." That does not ever mean that you should charge someone else for their meal. So very unacceptable. Since he is still there, I would always check your tab. I also had some issues in the past in trying to get them to cook my ahi tuna to medium rare, rather than just seared, and then having them way overcook it, so that it was inedible, so there have been a few issues, but overall, it is one of my favorite local restaurants to enjoy a meal."
"Always order the specials! Everything is fresh, but the daily specials are thoughtful, complex, filling, and delicious! Staff is friendly and attentive. The bar area is welcoming for people, dining alone. Wonderful, wonderful owner and staff!"
"This is a solid modern Indian spot with lots of good food options. It's a great place to bring your friends and family to introduce him to Indian food. The vibes are great. The ambience is great and the restaurant was packed. The service might be a little bit slow, but you will definitely get your food and drinks and we really enjoyed the chicken, tiki masala and all the appetizers. Try asking for recommendations on what's popular and you won't be disappointed."
"A lovely place to meet friends. Great menu to pair with wine. Love the samosas and the Brie with prosciutto. The service was attentive and our server was bright smiles. Only complaint is the music was a bit loud. Love the atmosphere and the window table was great."
"District has an excellent selection of appetizers. I had Brussels sprouts and ahi poke. Brussels sprouts were crispy, nicely seasoned, and mixed with pork belly. The tuna was beautifully presented over crispy rice but it was cut so small that I couldn't really taste it. The pizza was decent and arrived super hot so that was nice. Our servers were also friendly and very attentive at the bar seating. However, the 6% surcharge should have been printed on the dining menu as well, not just the drinks menu. I didn't order any drinks, so it came as a surprise. Overall I probably wouldn't return for a full meal but maybe for happy hour and appetizers."

I don't remember how I found this place, but I wanted to go somewhere new for my birthday, and decided to try this place. I booked a reservation on yelp for 7pm on a Thursday, but my fiance and I took Caltrain and ended up getting here a bit early. The woman who greeted us had no problem seating us and took us to a table by the expo window. The downtown area was pretty quiet, but this place was PACKED. All of the workers were moving quickly, navigating through the tables, and it was a bit loud from all the guests and workers. Despite the noise and sheer number of people packed into this place, it was still a pleasant evening. The workers are quick, efficient, and super friendly. Since I was by the expo window and bar, I was watching all of the servers run back and forth. All of the servers worked together to make this an amazing experience. They helped each other serve food, run drinks, and clean tables. Our server was also super pleasant and attentive. As for the food and drinks, it was all AMAZING. We started off the night with the berry mojito and the passion fruit martini. My fiance actually ordered the berry mojito, but it was sooo good I had to steal it. Both drinks were refreshing. The berry mojito was on the sweeter side, but it tasted like it had real fruit juice in it. The passion fruit was tangy, but had a nice sugar rim to balance it out.For appetizers, we ordered the sautéed prawns and they were in some sort of lemon butter sauce. They were creamy, rich, and lemony. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and tasted great with the bread. I told my fiance I could eat a whole plate of these. My fiance and I also decided to get the meat sampler which was an amazing idea. All of the meat was cooked perfectly. They also gave us three different sauces to dip the meat into and each one was amazing. I liked the chipotle aioli and lemon herb sauce. My fiance liked the teriyaki sauce, which was good, but definitely a light flavor. The asparagus was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The potatoes were good, but nothing special. Lastly, we got the chocolate lava cake, which was light, fluffy, and perfectly sweet. It was served with a coffee ice cream and whipped cream. My fiance also ordered an espresso martini, which looked great, but tasted even more amazing. The only let down was that they forgot it was my birthday ha ha. I put it down in the reservation, but they seemed to have forgot. They sang to quite a few other parties, but not me. Oh well, I still loved this place. Also, if you're looking for a quiet, intimate dinner, don't come here... but if you're looking for a pretty perfect dining experience, you should come here because the food is all amazing!!

I was looking for a place that serves pasta in a parmesan cheese wheel. Found it and had the place bookmarked for a future visit. Finally had a chance to visit recently. We shared several dishes so we can try a bunch of their offerings.Their beet salad was tender and tasty. Served with roasted hazelnuts, some kind of mild cheese crumbled and butter lettuce leaves. Tasty and pretty light. The grilled octopus was the highlight of my meal there. Lightly grilled and oh so tender. The pasta in the cheese wheel was prepared table-side and with a well-practiced flourish. It was creamy (as expected) and worth the wait. The Panna cotta was a lot creamier than was expected. The pieces of fruits were at the height of freshness and just the right amount of ripeness and sweetness to round out the meal.Looking forward to coming back soon!

Stopped by for a quick dinner and luckily they had a table available on their outdoor patio since I was dining with my dog. Unfortunately, the bread service is no longer complimentary. It's $4 now. That's such bummer because it's such a great way to welcome back customers. My first time dining here I had pasta so this time around I ordered a pizza. They have good vegetarian pizza options. I ordered the traditional Margherita pizza and it was solid! Thin slices and fluffy crust. The sauce to mozzarella ratio was perfect. I reheated my leftovers the next day and it was still just as good!

First of all, gotta say that it is great that Fiorella is open to 10pm on Saturdays, since there aren't a lot of restaurants open that late in the Richmond on weekends. Despite arriving around 8:30pm or so, it was still lively and busy inside, which was a great sign to me and my partner. We started with the crazy melon and capicola, which was super light and refreshing; perfect for a summer appetizer. It was really well balanced, as the capicola was super thin so as not to overshadow the melon or other ingredients, and the chili crisp added some nice heat but wasn't applied with a heavy hand, letting the other flavors shine through. As avid pizza lovers, we also tried the burrata pie and salsiccia pie. The burrata pie was slightly disappointing, as it was a little blander than we were expecting and the heavy amount of burrata cooled off the pizza fairly quickly. However, the salsiccia pie was fantastic! The sausage had a great floral flavor, and paired beautifully with the ricotta, which provided a nice salty bite. Pro tip: Give the pizza a healthy dose of the chili oil they provide for the table to take this pizza over the top. We will definitely be back to get the salsiccia pie and to try their other pizzas as well.

Came across this place while walking around trying to get some food before a movie. We didn't have a reservation, but we were able to get a table right away. We tried the Parisian Gnocchi and the Roasted Chicken. Both were delicious, we really enjoyed the food. We also tried an old fashioned and bees knees. The drinks were also great! Will definitely be coming back again.

I have dined at this restaurant since the early seventies the food is outstanding the alcohol selections are numerous, you must try their cheese fondue. The service, ambiance and food selection is first cabin, for sure. I don't mind the prices because this is a first class restaurant.

"We had an incredible dining experience at this hidden gem my boyfriend found on Yelp for our last minute "fri-date"! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was inviting. Our server, Jack, was attentive and knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu with great recommendations. Each dish was a delightful surprise and beautifully presented. This place exceeded all our expectations--highly recommend!! Jack even gave us these sparkling yuzu shots that were smooth and refreshing!! Hamachi Kama was my favorite dish and I was so excited I didn't even get to take a photo lol must try!!"
"The beer selection here is always good. I haven't had much to try on the menu to review the food.Service has always been great and the staff are pretty friendly. The bar area is nice and they have an outdoor patio as well. Will be back to try what's on the menu someday."
"Decided to check out Park & Howard Bistro for dessert and drinks and it was phenomenal. It was pretty chill and lowkey for a Saturday, which we greatly appreciated. The service was also superb and very attentive. We never felt forgotten and hardly had to wait at all. My wife ordered the Chocolate Lava Cake and I ordered the Bread Pudding and Eggnog Espresso Martini. Everything was absolutely delectable! Can't wait to go back. Highly recommend for a date night away from the kids."
"Good italian good and very friendly staff. If you eat inside the vault, then there will no phone signal."
"Service was great. Food was yummy. We actually didn't get lasagne , got build your own pasta instead. It was very good as you can customize it and add only ingredients you like to it! I got the gnocchi with spinach and mushrooms with red sauce. The portions are quite big, too. And free bread! They have a kids menu, and kids cups! That was a pleasant surprise. Came on a weekend right when it opened so was able to get a table. It's pretty small inside so I imagine it gets pretty busy."
"The food was amazing! Highly recommend the bruschetta and fettuccine di tartufo. Vince and his staff were incredible. Had a really nice dinner! Thank you so much!!"
"While visiting Mountain View yesterday for the German Holiday Market, my friend and I stopped into Ludwig's Biergarten for a late lunch. It's was packed inside but we were lucky and a table was available.I got a vegetable soup (already have eaten some snacks at the market) which had pancake strips in it. Quite novel and the soup was tasty, light & hot! My friend enjoyed the Jaeger Schnitzel, veal breaded and fried. Both our food choices were delicious. We celebrated some good news by sharing a dessert platter. I liked the mini beignets and apple strudel with whipped cream!I'd like to give a shout out to the wait staff at Ludwig's because the restaurant was mobbed by couples, families with kids and groups of people indoors and outside. The staff handled all the demands with GRACE and worked non-stop ferrying dishes from the kitchen counter to tables, delivered steins of beer, refilled water glasses and cleaned up the mess of dishes on tables. If this had been a war, they deserved medals for maintaining their goodwill under stressful conditions.Terrific experience & terrific food.I plan to come back to try other dishes.Danke!Food: 4 starsAmbiance: 3.5 starsService: 5 stars"
"I came here for lunch with my friend on Thursday for the first time. I was telling someone that it had been getting harder to find a good Italian restaurant these days since lot of the ones I used to love closed. They recommended Tre Monti and wow what a gem!!First off, the atmosphere was very welcoming. Giovanni introduced himself to me and made recommendations. He mentioned that the meat lasagna just came out of the oven! Nice. Their pasta noodles are made in house and can be purchased separately. Delicious and authentic! My friend ordered the Carbonera Calabrese and she loved it. We also shared the fried calamari salad. It was delicious! The calamari was fried lightly and they gave us very good amount. The salad dressing and fruits were paired back nicely. I LOVED my dish..it was the Mezze Maniche Al Salmone. They were super flexible about me switching the noodle to spaghetti & with smoked salmon. I was over the moon because this was the exact type of dish I would order in the past. I'll be bringing my mom next time to try their Vongole. I'm sure it'll be amazing. To top it off, he brought out homemade cheesecake that his sister made and wow....I'm still thinking about it. My friend bakes a lot too and she was super impressed with the flavor and consistency. The whipped cream was delicious too. Realistically, for health reasons, I can't eat pasta everyday, but I would totally do it if I could and come to Tre Monti. I'll definitely be going back."
"We drove from Manteca just to see my hometown. It was a delight to find out the owner of this restaurant went to Los Gatos High same year as me. The tri tip sandwich I split with my husband and very good! I had my Pomerania with me so it was nice to have a nice place outside by redwood trees to enjoy my sandwich. I loved the ambiance of the trees and down home feel. The music I like was also playing. The service was great as when the sandwich was ready they brought it out to us. We will do this again. All the times I stopped I would just get a drink at the store. Now I'll get something to eat and drink across the way at the Italian restaurant."
"Food tastes good. Very typical Mediterranean restaurant environment. Good service. Good for regular gathering."
"The northern reaches of Downtown San Jose become a dark and deserted wasteland after nightfall, where few but the bravest of tourists will dare to enter. But the natives know that a few excellent eateries still survive here, defiantly keeping the darkness at bay, and waiting it out until the day when the city finally gets around to reconnecting them again with the rest of downtown. The five stars are for the pasta and cheeses - because there are 2 or maybe 3 different layers of cheese activity going on here. Some mellow cheese thing going on top, and some salty cheese thing happening in the middle, and maybe some croissant cheese thing going down at the bottom.I don't know enough about cheese, so maybe it is something else. But this is not the cheese on my Doritos or Cheetos. This is not the cheese on the carne asada fries. And this is not the cheese inside my Subway sandwich, although it can be challenging to taste Subway sandwich cheese, even when you can see it."
"The warm, modern, and rustic atmosphere of CRU is incredible; my coworkers and I had such a fun time chilling here after work! CRU is not just a wine bar, it's also a store and a cafe and is conveniently located in the heart of Redwood City and in the same building as Box. We had a large party, however, they were able to accommodate us without a problem. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable whenever we had questions about the wine or food. We all ordered cheese and meat platters which obviously pair well with our glasses and bottles of wine and we pretty much stayed there the rest of the evening that we kind of lost track of time. CRU is a perfect addition to Redwood City DT and I highly recommend it. You can't buy happiness, but you can buy wine and that's LITERALLY the same thing. Cheers!"
"Great vibe and energy throughout the entire resto.. Lots of cozy seating..Fabulous Beer and Wine selection. A fair selection of appetizers and entrees to choose from as well as a kids menu. Thursday's are dedicated to karaoke. Bring your singing voice! Recommend the antipasta plate and the Pot Stickers appetizer. Club house sandwich also really tasty! Super delish served super fast!"
"Realistically a 3.5/5. Came here for Valentine's Day and it was good! We had reservations at 6:30, but came at 5:30 to see if they could seat us and they were actually able to! The hostess and waitress were both very nice & lovely. What I didn't really like was them telling every table when getting seated that they're putting a 1 hour limit since it was Valentine's Day. It just felt distasteful but we also didn't feel rushed out. I think it started getting really crowded around 6:30. The tables were also very close together, I think they tried to stuff as many tables as they could since it was Valentine's Day. There wasn't a lot of room in between tables to even go to the restroom. We were seated near the entrance as well so I had people bumping into my chair whenever they came in. We ordered the Gambas Al Ajillo, Paella and the short ribs.Gambas Al Ajillo: good flavor, a little spicy/sour but was just a little bit too salty. Paella: This was really good, but not the best i've had. I still prefer the paella from Picaro. There was a lot of toppings but I feel like there wasn't enough rice. Short Ribs: These were good, but I feel like it was expensive for what you got. It came with potato wedges and mixed veggies. Some of the meat was also a little bit tough, but the other pieces melted in your mouth. Overall, I would come back! Staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was good."
"FJL: They're Back!!!! 5 years ago, Frankie, Johnnie & Luigi Too! closed for remodeling. Well, the entirely new building and new restaurant nicely modernized has reopened! Same location! The name has changed to reflect the same owning family and their progress with their flagship chain of Giorgio's. But! The FJL menu items remain the same! The look and taste of the food same as FJL! Service was great! Highly recommended and I will often return! I waited 5 years to tell a waiter: Small Stromboli! (aka Frank's Fiasco) It was great!Note, during their Soft Open, the store hours are a bit limited, check before you go!"
"$22 for four bruschettas We got to try 4 different flavors. They were all delicious. The tortilla soup was really a winner! Very balanced, it's hard to find a good tortilla soup."
"It's been a while since I've written a review for our favorite brunch spot, but Jack's deserves the spotlight! It's practically unanimous in our family--when we can't decide where to go for brunch on the weekend, we head straight to Jack's.My go-to order 90% of the time is the 2x2x2: Swedish pancakes, over-easy eggs, and bacon. It's the perfect combo and hits the spot every single time. The other 10% of the time, I'll switch things up with their absolutely bombastic fried chicken dish, What the Cluck, or the ultimate five-star, restaurant-style Lamb Burger. Both are phenomenal. My husband is a loyal fan of the Carnivore--99% of the time, that's what he orders, always with crispy hash browns and sourdough bread. My kids usually pick from one of my three favorites, but the other day, my son decided to try the Steak Sandwich. To his surprise, the sandwich turned out to be a literal piece of steak between bread. While the steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare, as requested, he was expecting thinly sliced pieces of steak instead. At $27, he was pretty disappointed, as the taste didn't work for him either. That said, Jack's remains our family's favorite brunch spot, and we'll undoubtedly be back for many more years to come."
"Food was impeccable, service above and beyond expectations, and in a beautifully designed restaurant. It's not often that we have fine dining like this, in the sleepy part of the outer Richmond district. The Cauliflower appetizer could have been a main dish in itself, the flavors were on point. The cornbread is cooked in a skillet, that comes with its own honey butter spread. We will be back, highly recommended."

"The patio in back with a glass of wine and warm focaccia bread out of the oven with trout deviled eggs was my SF sanctuary"
"Me and my wife celebrated our wedding anniversary at Papillon. We booked our dinner online and made our reservation at 5:30 am. They have ample parking space and you'll not miss the big sign in front of their restaurant. Once we checked in, we were immediately seated at our table. The place is nostalgic and the ambiance is quiet and pleasant for a romantic dinner. Since they just opened, we saw only a few patrons. The menu has a lot of options and this place is very famous for its steak, fillet mignon, classic beef Wellington, ribeye, rack of lamb, short ribs, salmon, etc. All of the items from their menu are highly recommendable. For starters, we ordered their crispy tempura calamari and their house salad. We also had their Blue Paradise Margarita and Tequila Sunrise. For our main course, we ordered the Grilled ANGUS RIBEYEin Marinade of Olive Oil, Roasted Peppers, Basil, and Roasted Garlic Puree, served with Sautéed GarlicMushrooms and Grilled ATLANTIC SALMON with Hero Potato Puree, Warm Spinach, and Cranberry Reduction. While waiting for our orders, we were served with their warm bread. The calamari was fresh and good. The salad was just served right and the dressing was good. The margarita and Tequiela were the perfect alcohol for the night. And finally, the main course was perfect. The ribeye was soft and tender and the Salmon was fresh and delicious. The portions were huge and were cooked the way we wanted. The meal was so huge that we didn't have any more space for desserts. However, when they found out that we were celebrating our anniversary, they presented us with a nice piece of cake with all the trimmings around a plate with an anniversary message. They were so thoughtful and made our anniversary special. The owner, Charlie, approached our table and greeted us on our anniversary. He told us the story of how the restaurant started and how long they've been in the business. With the great service they provided and the excellent food they provided, I would see them prospering for another decade. This was not our first time celebrating our anniversary here and we see ourselves celebrating more anniversary at this place."
"Birk's serves up hardwood grill steaks, chops, and seafood. It's considered an American cuisine and steakhouse. RESERVATIONI made reservations for two on a Sunday evening through the OpenTable app.AMBIANCEUpscale attire. The interior is a traditional steakhouse and intimate. SERVICEUpon arrival, the hostess greeted us after assisting the group in front of us. We were seated swiftly. Our server was excellent. He was attentive and did a great job providing us with the best experience. Bravo! FOODMy SO and I decided to come here for dinner. It was a redo Valentine's dinner since the other restaurant we visited a week ago didn't hit the spot. We ordered the same thing here at Birk's, which was delicious. * BlackBerry Mint Bee's Knees cocktail * Blue Royale Mocktail* Crab Cakes -- This was our starter. The crab cakes were served with mango salsa, herb aioli, and arugula salad. The cakes were tasty and filled with shredded crab meat. A solid starter. * Pork Chops -- I ordered the pork chop; well done. The presentation of the pork chops was appetizing. The two chops were the perfect size, seasoned, and cooked well. The chops were accompanied by mashed potatoes and creamed spinach with bacon. * Filet Mignon 8oz -- This entree was served with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach with garlic. The filet mignon was seasoned well and cooked correctly to be medium rare. The proteins were executed and well-seasoned. The sides were delicious. All in all, when it comes to steaks/chops and the sides, keep it simple and do it well -- that's what Birk's accomplished. Our drinks were good.We will return to Birk's to satisfy our cravings for what they serve--looking forward to the exceptional customer service provided on our last visit."
"Prefacing by saying the duck pate is one of my top bites of the new year. Booked a reservation online for two for a weekend evening at 5pm when they opened. Opted to sit outside as their parklets are beautifully done. Curtains at the entrance and heaters above each table make for an intimate and almost private space in the parklet. The inside of the restaurant is pretty though so you can't go wrong whether inside or outside.Star of the show was the duck liver pate and pastas. Duck liver was generously served with a light sweet, earthy taste. Pasta-wise we opted for their two specials - truffle tortellini with freshly shaved French black truffles and squid ink fettuccine with Dungeness crab. Of the two, I liked the fettuccine more, which had generous pieces of crab and a sauce that was reminiscent of a crab/shellfish broth. The truffle tortellini has a generous shaving of truffle and each tortellini popped with a creamy ricottasService was professional yet friendly. They clear your plate before new courses. Water regularly refreshed."
