"=== Cronuts that actually TASTE like croissants ===Whoa. Set apart from the rest.Stopped by here because we have a Manley's nearer my house and I was curious. This place's donuts were outlier good.+ Cronut actually TASTES like a croissant. So many times, donut stores' cronuts look different but taste basically like a slightly denser raised donut. Not here. The thing breaks apart easily into layers like a real croissant and it tastes like a croissant. It's not only that the dough is less sweet, the layers really impart a different taste and feel. Impressed.+ Lovely yeasty taste to their raised donuts.+ Kids ordered that big chunky loaf shaped donut with maple topping. I usually don't get that because with so much dough, it ends up being cloying and heavy. But this was surprisingly light and crispy and heavenly. If you can do that with this large block-shaped donut, you're a magician in my book.+ Friendly when ordering.+ Gave us a 13th donut with our dozen order.Wish this place was closer to my house. Oh wait, no I don't... :-D"
"To simply put it: a must to visit if you love specialty donuts or even very buttery croissants! We stopped by early Sunday morning to order their assortment for gifts back home and for us to indulge in. They are currently offering holiday flavors which sounded so good that we bought a few of them.We were greeted immediately and knowing how big their selection is, they assured us we could take our time. Our first box of four was: graham smores, matcha mont blanc, coffee creme brulee, and kalakand (a rose white, white chocolate). Our second box of four was: graham smores, matcha mont blanc, tiramisu, and vanilla bean. And lastly, our last order was a single butter croissant warmed. This was the best butter croissant I've had in a long time. With the box of donuts you will buy, you should order a box of croissants as well. As for the donuts, they are absolutely delicious! The chocolate glaze was decadent, the matcha was rich, the tiramisu was incredible! I enjoyed this so much and I hope the box we bought for our friends will be just as loved."
"Amazing and tasty donuts. It hit the spot. I got an eclair bar with custard and an old fashioned donut.Loved it. Definitely coming back"
"Yum donuts! Have driven by this donut shop a few times and finally decided to pick up a dozen on my way to work for a co-worker's birthday. The donuts were fresh and fluffy! Had a big variety to pick from at 7:45 am and the employees were friendly. Regular donuts are 6 for $7, the jelly and custard are a little more and the apple fritters are $2.25. I picked glazed, crumb raised glazed, glazed old fashioned, chocolate custard and apple fritters. They were all tasty, the chocolate custard could have a bit more filling though. My favorite was the apple fritter! They were nice and crunchy and huge! Will definitely be back for more. Their breakfast sandwiches also sound yummy so will have to try those sometime too. Also, they are a cash only business would be great if they started taking credit cards."
"Maple Leaf Donuts is hands down my go-to spot whenever I'm craving fresh, delicious donuts. The service is always top-notch--friendly staff who are quick and attentive, which makes every visit a pleasant experience. If you're looking for a reliable, no-fuss spot for great donuts at a great price, Maple Leaf Donuts is the place to go!"
"I've been driving by this place in the mornings, so I decided to drop in before heading to work. Staff was super friendly & fast (I was in & out in 5-6 minutes). I got a donut and a Sausage, Egg, & Cheese. Both were very good & they have 3 types of cheese including pepper jack which I've never seen before at a donut shop! There is a lot of room inside as well. I will definitely be coming back. GO SUPPORT THIS SMALL BUSINESS!!"
"Been going to Maple Leaf Donuts for years and will miss Mary. Recently went for the first time under new ownership and met a nice woman behind the counter named Tia, who was very friendly and efficient. She accurately assembled my 1 doz donuts in a new flat style box, not the pink tallish square box I was so used to all these years. It''ll take some getting used to, but the advantage of the flat box is all donuts are now easily displayed (& accessible) when the box is opened - vs. being tightly slotted sideways in the pink box. All the donuts looked the same visually - which is a compliment to the new donut maker. I can't speak to the taste of the dozen donuts as they were given as a gift. I did order an apple fritter & old fashioned for myself - compliments to the current donut maker, both tasted like Maple Leaf Donuts - I'll need a few more visits to confirm for consistency of the product, but it seems they're following the previous recipes, techniques & process. Also the new owners put up a couple of flat screens that display all their menu items. Hopefully Almaden and the surrounding area gives the new owners a chance and continue to support local small businesses like Maple Leaf Donuts"
"Vegan Bistro Donuts is a tasty and reliable option near SJSU campus. I came here on a weekend with my partner and we both loved our experience here. I have been to this cafe a few times, and the donuts are always so delicious. I love all the different flavors they have, and it's awesome how much variety there is. They also make a great Vietnamese coffee and other refreshing drinks. The employees are always very friendly and accommodating to any requests. They also have a discount if you get a half dozen or a dozen donuts, which gives you all the more reason to try as many flavors as you want! My partner isn't vegan, and they were wowed by how delicious the donuts were. The cafe itself is also very relaxed and is a great place to sit and chill for a bit"
"Our kids absolutely loved the donut! The shape was adorable, and the texture was incredibly soft with every bite. The cream on top had just the right amount of sweetness--not overpowering at all. We also loved the packaging--the cute pink box made it feel extra special. Our daughter even thought it was a gift box with a toy inside!"
"I got a number 6, half dozen custard filled donutholes, half dozen raspberry jam filled donut holes, glazed donut, and coconut juice for about $18. The service was fast and friendly. The two workers made the environment comfy. They had a wide range of drinks to offer. The prices for the drinks seemed extremely reasonable. The sandwich I got was a sausage, bacon, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich. The bacon was cooked to perfection while the eggs had the perfect texture. The donuts were delicious and fluffy. All in all my bf and I will most definitely be coming back in for our morning tweet tooth adventures."
"This is the best star bread location ever!! I've been to the Concord, Vallejo, Fairfield, and Union City location and they all do not compare. Every time I come here the bread is always nice and warm. I love the freshness of the bread and how it's perfectly baked each time 5/5. The location is in a busy plaza and the store itself it very tiny. They have a lot of other things that they sell but overall it's always a good experience here."
"Delicious cakes. My favorite is the traditional burnt almond but I have ordered the Shirley cake, Mexican wedding cookies and butterfly sugar cookies. All were tasty!"

Great place for a pit stop if you're in the area. I got a caramel-glazed yeast donut, which was surprisingly light and airy; you feel the richness in the donut itself but not so much the glaze, so it doesn't become overpowering. I also got a BLT sandwich; they made it on the spot and it was fresh and tasty. They also have Vietnamese iced coffee.

My sister in law ordered an assortment of these for Christmas dessert. Creme brûlée, guava, ube, banana pudding...At $5 to $8.75 a pop, these have got to be the most expensive donuts I've ever had. Sadly, I don't think they justified the price. The brioche itself was dense and bread-y. The fillings were also on the thick side but I appreciated the bold flavoring. Our favorite was the banana pudding.Glad we finally were able try, but won't be rushing back given the hefty price tag of a mediocre product. 2.5 stars, rounded up.

Okay this place is such a small hole in the wall but man it's so good. I will say it's hot in there so def be aware of that when ordering if you're not feeling great. I came on a Sunday morning as I had been in search of some ham and cheese croissants. I ordered two for my husband and I and two glazed donuts and man they did not disappoint. It's not a gourmet place but if you're craving some of those breakfast foods I def recommend coming here. I had to wait a little bit to order but it wasn't a big deal for me!

CASH ONLY.On my drive over to get my massage from Ross Massage, I considered going to Kenny's Cafe but alas they were closed for the day and also on the other side of the street. It was a hot day and I needed a drink and didn't feel like going to Subway next door. I got a sugar cruller donut and decided to relive my middle school days and quenched my thirst with the class Jasmine iced tea. I was promptly assisted by someone in the back. I asked if I could please have a cup of ice (they don't serve fountain drinks here, just hot coffee/ tea and a fridge of drinks). I was asked if I was ok with using the paper cups for the hot coffee (because iced drinks is not a standard item here) and I was grateful to get anything. Considering they were closing in 10 minutes I asked if it was ok for me to take a seat at the table and they said of course. I ended up sitting a little past closing time and a customer after me and I didn't get a sense of being rushed out. I'll return again!

Came here to try their donuts, its a small donut shop but it has few seats to sit at and eat. I asked if they were connected to the other maple lead donuts on saratoga avenue and they said no diff owners. The donuts were fresh and soft, when you bit in you go all the way, no staleness at all. The glaze and chocolate coating was good amount. The coffee was decent and was nice. Just watch out when you park ur car cuz theres few homeless folk around the area so just grab your donuts and go. Great donuts for this campbell area

This vegan bistro in downtown San Jose is a hidden gem! I had the pleasure of trying their "Ocean of Love" sandwich, and it did not disappoint. The sandwich is a delightful mix of chickpeas, hearts of palm, soy protein, celery, red onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers, all garnished with cilantro and basil. The flavors were so well-balanced, and the fresh baguette added a nice crunch to every bite.Additionally, I ordered the Passion Dragon smoothie, and it was fantastic. Made with passion fruit, dragon fruit, mango, almond milk, and agave, it was incredibly refreshing and had a perfect natural sweetness. For anyone seeking mouthwatering vegan options, this bistro is a must-visit. Both the sandwich and smoothie were delicious, and I'll definitely be back for more!

"As the reigning Donut Queen of the South Bay, I heartily endorse this donut shop. Which is why I'm there every week ...Did you know your taste buds change as you get older? Maybe that's not an actual scientific fact but it sure seems to be the case for me. Overly sweet pastries? Not for me any more. I don't want food that makes my teeth ache.Enter the Donut Basket. Not only are their donuts super fresh they're not covered in grease and sugar. My personal fave: the cinnamon roll. These things are enormous. They're light though so if you were a Donut Queen like me, you could probably eat an entire one. Over 3 hours.Runners up: the jelly and, believe it or not, the plain cake. You know it's a damn fine donut store when the plain cake rocks. So why 4 stars instead of 5? Spendy, a bit spendy. $1.75 for a plain cake donut? Spendy. But hey, everything costs more now so it's not really the Donut Basket's fault they've had to raise their prices. I still love them."
"Came in and tried them out today.Had a raised Choco and glazed. It was alright, the dough was not chewy or airy.Actually felt mushy which is strange. The cashier was very nice. Perhaps it was an off day, maybe I'll give them another try next time."
"FOOD:The donuts are sooooo good! I love their Ube donut. The classics are delicious too! I've gotten their breakfast croissant a few times and it's solid. SERVICE:10/10 Always friendly and prompt. NOTE:Seating is limited to maybe 3-4 tables. This is not a place I would hunker down and study at. I'd suggest you grab your delicious treats and head out."
"I hadn't had much of a breakfast several weekends ago before dropping my car off for service at the dealer nearby. While they were working on it, I walked over to downtown Sunnyvale to take a look at the new Whole Foods and AMC movie theater that had been built there. I remembered that there had once been a place called Star's Donuts in a mini-strip mall down Sunnyvale avenue, so I headed that direction after surveying the Whole Foods and the theater. In the space where Star's Donuts used to be is now Daily Donuts & Sandwiches. They used to have another location in a shopping center at El Camino and Pastoria, but they closed it since that shopping center was slated to be razed (and eventually was). When the former Star's Donuts closed here, Daily Donuts moved in.I walked in and glanced at the donuts behind the glass. I ended up ordering a chocolate Long John / bar and a glazed donut as well as a medium coffee with milk and cream. The nice lady behind the counter got my order ready and rung me up in the span of a few minutes. The total cost was $5.05, which is an excellent price if you ask me. The donuts were both pretty good! They weren't the same quality as the famous Stan's in Santa Clara, but I thought they were still flavorful and filling. The coffee was unremarkable. I didn't get a chance to see or ask if they brew it on site, but, alas, it's no big deal either way.Overall, I'm glad I paid these guys a visit. It's small businesses like these that I really enjoy patronizing and supporting. They also serve bagels and sandwiches, in case you're not in the mood for donuts.I hope those of you reading this think of a business like this that you can support at a time like this when many small businesses everywhere are struggling to make it due to the shutdown. If you wanted pizza, would you rather go to Pizza Hut or a local Bay Area pizza joint like Maldonado's, Cicero's, or Golden Boy? If you were looking for a particular book, would you rather go to Barnes and Noble (and risk getting diarrhea), or a local Bay Area bookstore like Leigh's, Kepler's, or City Lights? If you were in the mood for a burrito, would you rather go to Chipotle or a local taqueria like Tacos Jalapa, Los Altos Taqueria, or El Farolito? And if you were hungry for a donut, would you rather go to Krispy Kreme or a local donut shop like Daily Donuts, Donut Wheel, Stan's, or Bob's Donuts? You get the picture. Give your patronage and money to local, mom-and-pop businesses. They need it now more than ever.SUPPORT LOCAL/SMALL BUSINESSES.4 stars"
"Stopped in for a couple dozen for my office on no other day than...National Donut Day! Who knew? Chocolate Cronuts! Lemon Cronuts! Apple fritters! Maple Long John's! Chocolate long John! Old fashioned! Sprinkles! Jelly filled! Got a selection of the whole gang. I had to leave before I got a 3rd dozen. All fresh, delicious, and decadent. Friendly owners & fast service. A+++"
"We ordered the beignets with condensed milk and one vanilla bean Malasada and it was soo delicious ! It did take about 10 mins to get but the owner/workers were very nice. It's a small cafe with a couple tables inside and a couple tables outside. Would definitely recommend trying this cafe out, especially the malasadas !"
"The best tasting donuts. I bought six donuts for $10 dollars. The own gave me one extra and four little donuts on the house. He is very nice to me. Thank you!!!"
"My bf uber eats this to me and it was easy delivery, secure package with nice big box and bag. The donuts were big and each piece was easy to pull apart and fluffy. They seemed be just baked and fresh! Perfect enough of frosting on top and churro has sugar all around it. The mochi is nice and chewy! Would def recommend."
"I work in a profession where it is traditional to bring donuts in the morning for many occasions Fresh donuts has quality options and they are open early. The bagel sandwiches and ice coffee are good too.I recommend trying them out out and supporting a local business"
"Donut Basket in San Jose MIGHHHTT be my new favorite donut shop in San Jose. I loved all the donuts but the ones that particularly stood out were the blueberry, glazed old fashioned, chocolate cake and crumble raised donuts. Best part is they weren't stale the next day either. This place is as good as Stan's in my opinion"
"This is one of my favorite donuts shops. This small donut shop has been around for a long time. We used to get donuts and danishes from here before school started or early morning on Saturdays when I was a kid. The owners have always been kind and friendly and everything here is so fresh. They have all the yummy classic donuts and sandwiches. The donuts are soft and light and just perfect."
"I love their sandwiches, especially the BLTs. The food is good and fresh, but a little bit on the small size for the price."
"The donuts were great and the older lady was extremely friendly and generous. She gave me a complimentary bag of Burmese samosas. Definitely give this family run donut shop a try!"
"Long overdue review. I have been bringing my kids here for 11 years. It's small, family owned and everyone that works there has been wonderful. Seriously...in 11 years; not a single time has there been a questionable experience. They are friendly, helpful and the donuts are delicious. The owner is diligent about the donuts being fresh too. I love that this is a community favorite. Thank you for always consistently being great!"
"Good service. Female owned. Came in close to closing few months ago and bought a non glazed OF donut. She gave me a free one in addition to the one I bought. Went back a couple times to get the veggie sw. Cinnamon tea; They boil cinnamon sticks to extract the flavor. Ironic; anti diabetes control from cinnamon to counteract the sugar spike from the donuts."
"5 stars for the funniest 5 star reviews I've ever seen. "My car broke down so i crossed the street to try a doughnut"... "I was driving down the road with my mom and friends and doughnuts--- came up in conversation--- and low and behold there's a doughnut place in front of us!". Comedy gold. After reading Yelp like a novella, this is the funniest business/business Yelp reviews i have ever seen. I hope my car breaks down in front of them soon"
"I love their new website! Online ordering was very easy and seamless.I got the bacon avocado omelette and it was delicious. Definitely gonna order again."
"I came here for breakfast this morning. I ordered two glazed donuts, one sugar donut, one cinnamon donut, and one sausage, egg, cheese bagel sandwich.Everything tasted delicious, but somewhat pricey though. The donuts are so fluffy and airy, it's insane. The price for one donut is $2.25.The bagel sandwich was $7.50. It was fire too. The scrambled egg was cooked just right, the sausage had a great peppery taste to it, and the bagel had a good bounce to it.I also have to mention it was very hot inside the donut shop compared to outside. It made me want to just take my food to go.There's also a 50 cent surcharge for any credit or debit card use so I recommend you use cash to save yourself two quarters."
"Service is really friendly, quick, and efficient. Location has a lot of parking. Prices were really reasonable for the area, and most importantly, the donuts were yummy! I bought the specialty mix box (which included glazed, old fashion, french cruellers, cake donuts, and apple fritters) which costs $22 for a dozen. Also got a dozen donut holes (plain, cinnamon, and glazed) for $3.50."
"Best dounut shop in town Freshly made & very deliciousAlways friendly and lots of verity of dounuts to ick from KIM IS AMAZING"
"Like or heard of Stan's Donuts in Santa Clara? Well, DB's glazed raised donuts rival Stan's! Now you don't have to trek across the valley for that light, cloud-like, fluffy goodness. You're welcome (This rating is strictly for this specific type of donut. I haven't tried their others.)"
"Amazing BBQ. Their chicken cutlet and bbq chicken are amazing, and the portion sizes are insanely generous. The mac salad is not too heavy, but still hits the spot. Do not forget to pick up donuts as well! Super fresh and delicious, and they make for the perfect dessert afterwards!"
"11/17/24Yup! Still the yummiest donuts. I honestly just get donut jokes but you can get lots of very exotic donuts here! Open 24 hours"
