"Tasty hat yai (fried chicken) meal! I went with the 2 piece combo with papaya salad and roti. Fresh and flavorful. Great crunch on the fried chicken. Nice assortment of dipping sauces. My partner ordered the hat yai box with curry sauce, roti, and rice so I got to dip my roti (curry sauce not included with the papaya salad combo). Quick serve environment: order on a tablet and pick up at the counter. Outside seating only. Perfect for takeout or a casual meal."

"I have been coming here since I was a little girl. Started off at the other location. Was so happy when they moved to this location, which was literally around the corner from where I lived. The owner knew of my family since we would frequent this place, especially after church. She would always ask about my brother, which I think is so thoughtful.I love, love, loooooveee their chicken fried rice. I would always get it as a kid, and will continue to order it. It has always been so flavorful, huge chunks of chicken which I've never experienced elsewhere.I love their beef & broccoli.Took my husband here for the first time since he's been in California, and he loves their sesame chicken."
"Tried a half order of Crunch Fried Chicken and a half order of Garlic Chicken, to go. We opted for a combination of wings and drumsticks (both drumettes and full size drumsticks are included). The two half orders were enough to feed 3 of us. The chicken was moist and plump on the inside, and nice and crunchy on the outside. After eating the very flavorful garlic chicken, the crunch chicken seemed a tad bland, so if you get an assortment I recommend eating the crunch chicken first. We took our food to go, so did not experience the dining room, which looked small but tidy. This is a great version of Korean fried chicken in Fremont."
"I came in to H mart with my friends to check out the food court. It was very crowded with all the tables basically taken. They have seats to eat in for people eating there and the restaurants surrounding. It is good that they have. A system that calls out where the food you ordered came from and a number is on the screen. When I saw the Chicken Wing place, I was gravitated to order their Ginger and Honey Wings. I asked the cashier which one was best or she liked and she said it depends on your taste on whether you like it dried or with sauce. I opted for with sauce which was the 8 wings for $16.99. It was pricey for the amount of wings but it was a good amount when I saw it. It was piping hot when I got it. But when I tasted it I was a disappointed because the flavor was there and tender but the wings were not crunchy. If they were, it would have been a good crunchy fried chicken.I am not sure if I would come back to buy the chicken."
"The chicken pho was amazing, the service was quick and the staff was friendly. I would definitely come back."
"Chicken and Capche pictured here. Menu. And the son of the local owners. Ordered take out several times after original review. Always solid."
"i love a good chicken sandwich and this place exceeds that, the chicken was seasoned perfectly and it was so juicy i'd say this is top 2 chicken sandwiches I've ever had. on top of that the service is great and the owners so nice. they have a bunch of seating outside which was really convenient! oh and they have stuffed churros, they taste so good make sure to get some when you go"
"It had been a while since we had come to this spot, and we weren't even sure when it made the transition from Chez Sovan. It was right around 6:15 and we were the first ones in the restaurant. Unfortunately, the construction across the street plus on one of the neighboring sides didn't make it easy to spot this place. We told the owner that hopefully once the apartments were done, they'd get more traffic flow, but the owner said the neighboring complex was a senior care home. We tried ordered the tried and true amok, the loc lac salad with beef, the tamarind garlic wings, and a bowl of rice. The wings came out first, loved the crunch on them, but there were some parts that were a little more tamarind-sour that made me pucker just a bit. The loc lac salad was yummy, had a nice sweet tang, and was easy to eat. From a texture perspective, I liked the large pieces of cooked onions and green beans. The amok was pretty good, tender, coconutty, and I liked that there were veggies cooked with it too. Service was nice and friendly, and eventually a few more patrons joined us and made the ambiance a bit more lively. I did try to order the mango sticky rice, but the owner said since mangos weren't in season, they were not serving it, which made total sense. I wish them all the success, and hope they can continue where Chez Sovan left off."
"Visited on a Monday evening, and the place wasn't too busy during the last hour of business. Parking was easy to find directly in front of the entrance. The interior of the restaurant was clean and casual, with wooden flooring and lovely artwork decorating the walls. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. Staff was friendly and provided immediate service, no wait to order. However, they accidentally mixed up my order with another customer. The staff was apologetic and fixed the error promptly, but I ended up having to wait 30+ minutes for my correct order. I wasn't in a hurry, so not a big deal, but still worth noting. Got the chicken thigh and catfish a la carte, as well as a couple honey butter biscuits. Omg, the fish and chicken were both so juicy and tender, and full of flavor. I loved the biscuits even more, fluffy and buttery, and so satisfying. The food was just fantastic! So although my recent experience here wasn't perfect, I would definitely return, especially for more of those biscuits :D"
"Loved it would come back! The ambiance takes us back to the past, owners and servers were excellent. This is a "don't judge a book by its cover". Would recommend and keep coming back. The chicken is a must! Got chicken, rice and corn. Rice was also flavorful. Make sure to let them know what kind of sauce you want, they usually give bbq sauce but if you want normal gravy, just tell them. Also there is an option of having the sauce on top of the chicken or any protein you choose, or place them in the side."
"Delicious chicken! No complaints, we got some takeout while running errands the other day. This chicken is crispy, not over-seasoned, super fresh and hot and the meat is decent quality. We absolutely will be back!"

Very tasty Thai fried chicken! We got the smallest a la cart box of 8 pieces of dark meat. Chicken is crispy outside, juicy inside. You order on this screen at the counter, pay there and put in your name. When your order is ready, your name is called. No eat in, all take out. There are some tables outside that you can use if you want to eat there. Parking in Town and County Plaza could be tough at times, but if you circle around there will be a sot opening up.

Girlfriend and I were craving some KFC and wanted to make some homemade soondubu so we hit up HMart to kill two birds with one stone. We entered HMart and placed our order so when we were done doing groceries we could just pick it up on our way out. We ordered the Large. It's supposed to come with two flavors of wings, leg quarters, and drumsticks. First flavor- original. They were alright.. nice and juicy but it's like they barely brined or seasoned the chicken. I'd rate it a 2 out of 5- wouldn't get them again. Second flavor- soy garlic. These were way better than the original. Again, seemed like they barely brined or seasoned the actual chicken. Most if not all of the flavor came from sauce the wings were tossed in. I'd rate them a 4 out of 5- would most likely order again.Overall, we would probably order elsewhere if we were craving someKorean fried chicken. Perhaps as a last resort since it's so close by lol. Some other gripes we had were that the chicken wasn't crispy at all even once we picked it up. Lastly, the pieces were all awkwardly "shaped"? and sized. The drumsticks were massive compared to the other pieces in the order, and we couldn't even tell what part of the chicken they were either. Def not wings nor were they quarters.

Pho Ga 88 has quickly became my family's new favorite chicken noodle place in the East Bay! Simple menu with only a couple items to choose from but you can't really go wrong with any of the options. The restaurant specializes in chicken and does a good job at it.I ordered the #5 boneless chicken noodle soup and the broth was clean, savory and warming. I couldn't stop drinking the soup because it was so flavorful! The ginger scallion sauce is a must try. I also ordered egg rolls for the table and it was crispy with some minced chicken filling. The restaurant was quite small and casual. Service was quick. I came on a weekend for lunch with my family and there was no wait. Pho Ga 88 is prefect for a light comforting meal when you aren't sure what to eat.

I've been a loyal customer for three years, and I can confidently say they're the best Korean fried chicken spot in the East Bay. Every flavor is consistently delicious, especially when paired with their house made pickles. Lately, I've noticed the large size drumsticks have a slightly gamey taste, and I hope the owner can look into it to make them even better.

Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a halal chicken place! They offer different levels of spice for people like me who can't handle too spicy. They have hookah with an amazing ambiance and offer great service! The chicken is juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The meat is perfectly seasoned with a beautiful golden brown color with crunch on the outside and a moist inside. It's cooked to perfection, ensuring that it's not overcooked or dry. Every bite is a delightful explosion of deliciousness!

This style is the first I've seen in E SJ and it blew me away.... Boiled yellow feather (?) chicken feet are boiled and tossed in a bold sa tế sauce made of lemongrass, garlic, shallots, and chiles. Crisp, tart green mangos are tossed in and finished with rau răm, Viet coriander. The chewy, gelatinous chicken feet soaks up the flavorful sa tế. With in-between bites of the green mangoes, it's a FLAVOR BOMB - salty, savory, tangy, sweet, umami, and a teeny bit spicy. Served cold, the chicken feet does take some effort to eat and for the skin to pull off the bone but it was worth it. A side of their punchy orange crack sauce is provided if you want to take the flavor bomb to the next level. A versatile sauce that can be used for meat, seafood, and veggies. "First time ordering food here and we ordered a 25 pieces combo meal. We chose corn salad, coleslaw, 2 french fries and plantains. We picked up the food at a digital kitchen on ruff drive. The chicken smelled and looked good, but it was not crispy. It had good flavor tough but it just wasn't crispy. The corn salad was good, and it came with diced peppers and feta cheese. The coleslaw was okay, it tasted like regular coleslaw with no special flavors or ingredients. The french fries had good flavor but it also was not crispy and soggy. The plantains were decent, but it was not fried and a little greasy. Overall, the food was decent and I would give it another try since I've heard good reviews."
"One of the best chicken sandwiches, I ever had. I got the medium spice level with hot honey. The chicken had a great level of spiciness, super crispy from the outside and very moist from the inside. The portion size is huge, good enough for 2 meals. With the addition of hot honey, it takes you to a different world of food bliss. We also got fries and coleslaw. Both were nice and tasty but portions were small and can be better for those too as the sandwich."
"So good! They're there Saturday and Sunday I believe. Call to make sure. Whole chicken combo with 2 sides was $26 and includes corn tortillas and an amazing salsa. The salsa was excellent and has a nice Smokey taste to it. The pollo asado is great ! I should have bought 2 chickens but my family of 4 devoured it. The chicken has a nice smoke taste to it. There was street parking and a few spaces in the lot that they operate in. It didn't take long to get the chicken. I will be back next weekend!"

They'll feed you until your pants seams bust and send you home with Tupperware of leftovers. Then, the next time you visit, she'll say, you've gotten "fluffy"....but in a blunt way. Come to find out, they closed and Fili Taste Grill & Restaurant took its place in in early June 2024 . They're open for takeout and dine-in. No outdoor seating. "This is the first time I've seen big drumsticks at a Korean fried chicken restaurant :o I normally get boneless if it's an option, but since it wasn't, I was still pleasantly surprised by the portion size! I got soy garlic and spicy curry. Soy garlic will always be my favorite, but spicy curry was still great. Every single piece was flawlessly crispy and flavorful. I would absolutely return if I'm in the area!"
"Came to Starbird's soft opening with a friend and had such a fantastic experience. She's a big fan of Starbird and knew exactly what to order, which helped me tremendously. We ordered the classic tender box, big star sandwich, 8 wings with lemon pepper and sweet thai chili, house fries, and Thai chicken salad. They were out of the churros so we split an Its-it ice cream sandwich (my first time trying it). We also got blood lemonade and regular lemonade for our beverages. The chicken here isn't too greasy and the meat is very juicy which I love!! The Thai chicken salad was fantastic, I'd order this again. It was so filling and came with a great variety of veggies. The classic tenders were also solid, the seasonings on the chicken wings were delightfully savory. Service is excellent, the waiters are very attentive. The interior is also decorated in a super fun way, Starbird is a great restaurant to go to regardless of whether you are doing take-out or delivery. I highly recommend coming here if you're a big fried chicken fan."
"Let me paint the picture here. It starts on a Thursday afternoon-almost-evening in downtown San Mateo. Naturally, I've been drinking at Barrel Bistro, also recommended. A smoked old-fashioned or two-maybe-three since you asked. No judgement. I'm off on Fridays, and don't be jelly.Anyway, suddenly buzzed and ravenous, I stumble into the nearest Indian restaurant and ask for a tikka masala prepared "extra-extra-extra-extra-not-White-guy-hot." Oh. I should note that I'm offensively White. Like, dude-bro Silicon Valley douche-supreme White. I can't help it, people. Born this way. The result of being so cliche White, other than being instantaneously punchable, is that nobody believes I'm also addicted to XXX anus-melting spicy foods. I am. To the point that I've been to the ER a time or two because my mouth wrote checks my stomach absolutely could not cash.Okay, back on track here. The gentleman at Clay Oven questions my seriousness. I reassure him. And off he goes to see that my order is prepared as asked. I'm happy to report that despite my overwhelming Whiteness--again, usually resulting in a 70% debuff or more in spiciness--this plate comes out dark red like nuclear molten lava, and I've no doubt the same Mordor fire will be melting San Mateo plumbing systems at some point soon.So if you legit like spicy foods, I highly recommend the tikka masala assuming you also ask for it extra-extra-extra-extra-not-White-guy hot. Also, as tikka masala is not typically the spiciest of dishes, I can only surmise that other offerings will be even spicier should you ask for themButter naan also good.Thumbs up to all spicy fanatics."
"We were tired and hungry after a morning of picking chestnuts so we stopped by the area to pick up some food. We didn't intend on coming here but it smelled so good from the outside we followed our nose and ended up here! When walking in, the market itself is rather small as a good chunk of the shop is dedicated to grilling chicken. We waited about 30 minutes to start our order and we ordered the whole chicken and rice, beans, tortillas on the side. The chicken is a decent size and the flavoring was absolutely amazing. It's smoky, the marinade is absolutely great, and super tender. The beans and rice on the side were great too! I also really enjoyed the salsa they provided as it taste slightly different from every other salsa I've tried.Overall, I'll definitely be back again. The wait and price is definitely worth it!"
"A solid place to have some spicy & flavorful wings. The service was quick & easy to order through the kiosk tab. With the draft beers on the side its a wholesome experience. Will be back again soon."
"I've been wanting to try "gas station chicken" and finally stopped by. The young gentleman who helped me was very nice. I wanted 4 tenders, 1 chicken breast and mashed potatoes and gravy. He said they were out of mashed potatoes and gravy, but they would be ready in 20 minutes if I wanted to wait. I declined to wait. He said he would give me some extra pieces for the trouble. That was nice of him. I didn't ask for it. I ended up getting extra biscuits. The chicken was very good. Hot, fresh, moist and the seasoning has a nice little kick to it. I preferred the breast over the tenders since there is more meat and less crust. The honey biscuits were delicious. I also did some research and this really isn't "gas station chicken" since the company started 3 years ago as a food truck and they are now a franchise opening in stores, in this case a gas station. I hope they succeed."
"Absolutely favorite place in Japantown. My favorite is the paradise roll. I've been ordering it for 15 years. Tuna with mango and jalepeno. Perfectly sweet and spicy. The restaurant was recently remodeled and lost some of its authentic charm but the staff is friendly and food arrives quick. It's our family's favorite spot"
"This place was surprisingly really good. All items on menu come with a set of rice, potato side dish, rice, and the choice of entree. The food came out steaming hot and fresh. They gave a lot of eggplant and the eggplant had so much flavor; it went really well with rice. The braised chicken was super flavorful as well AND it was juicy. For ~$15, it was worth for the amount of food you get. When I went, I was the only person who dined in but I saw a lot of deliveries and I think it's a perfect meal if you're looking for some homemade style chinese food."
"I did not know what to think of Chicken Paddy. I just noticed it randomly pop up on Doordash and decided to order it because everything sounded really good. I went to the ghost kitchen located in North San Jose by the airport to pick up my order. I have been in love ever since. I have tried 3 of their entrees and each one has been absolutely fantastic. The high price is totally worth it because the portions are big and the food is practically gourmet. You get what you paid for and you'll have enough for lunch and dinner.I have tried, the chicken tika masala, the mushroom chicken and the soy garlic chicken. Let me first start off by saying, the Korean cream corn is probably the best corn I ever had. I kept on saying wow for every bite. I think I will order a side or 2 of them tomorrow because I can't stop thinking about it. All of the sauces for each dish has so much flavor and all of the vegetables are sauteed with some kind of spice or sauce and has so much flavor to them. I look forward to trying more of the bowls and the drinks as well. Thank you Chicken Paddy for coming into my life and hopefully you can stay around for a long time!FYI, you can order it through Uber Eats and 949rufffood.com, the ghost kitchen."
"If you're craving a top-tier Nashville chicken sandwich, Scratch Cookery in San Jose is the place to be!The sandwich is massive--so big, it's practically a meal and a half. The chicken is perfectly juicy, with a crispy coating that delivers the ideal crunch. The Texas toast is a game-changer, with a surprising addition of melted cheese that pairs beautifully with the slaw, pickles, and their signature comeback sauce. Every bite is a flavor explosion! The French fries are equally impressive--crispy, golden, and dusted with a seasoning that's absolutely addictive. They're the perfect companion to the hearty sandwich.Scratch Cookery nails it with generous portions, bold flavors, and thoughtful details in every dish. Definitely a must-try spot for fried chicken lovers!I had delivery via DoorDash. After reading reviews of soggy buns, I thought I would try the Texas toast. It was a great choice. Both the fries and sandwich arrived crispy."
"I've been wanting to try this place out since they opened their first location on Brokaw Road in San Jose many years ago. When they opened this location off of McKee Road, I realized how close it was to my beloved 111 Bakery which is also in the same plaza as Bobaholics. The outside looks a bit rough with a banner for their store logo but I quickly learned judging a book by its cover can backfire. In this case, it sure did. Inside, the layout is inviting with ample seating along with a spacious area for self-ordering and for picking up drinks. It is aesthetically pleasing inside with modern fixtures and has social media friendly photo op areas too. I had heard the Creme Brulee Lattee with boba was the "it" drink here so I wanted to find out if that was true or if it was all hype. I ordered a large drink with extra sugar and added boba pearls with light ice. It came out rather quickly and when I drank it, I immediately thought of a brown sugar milk tea. It had fresh milk, chewy boba pearls, and it felt like some clusters of sugar to emulate the creme brulee. I would definitely order this drink again but would be fine without the extra sugar clusters. I do plan to come back here to try out other drinks and perhaps even their snacks!"
"I was doing my nails next door and wanted to grab some food from here after my nails were done..came in after and ordered a couple things..Service 5/5Drinks 5/5Chicken Pad Thai 2/5 Popcorn chicken 3/5Fried chicken skin 3/5 I wish I could give this place a higher rating..The french toast milk tea tastes exactly like the cinnamon toast crunch milk after eating all the cereal..What a wonderful blast from the past..reminds me of my childhood hood!!! Yummy!!! 5/5!!! I also got the lychee soda pop which is basically fizzy lychee soda..also 5/5!!! Very good and sweet!!!Let's move on to the pad thai..I really wanted to like the pad thai..it looked really good when I opened the box..but it lacked so much flavor. The portions were great..lots of noodles and chicken..but it was very bland. 2/5Their popcorn chicken laab style and fried chicken skin was pretty good when it was hot and fresh. When I was driving home and picking at the popcorn chicken and fried chicken skin it was delicious..but after leave it for 30 minutes..it lost flavor. I don't mind if it looses crunch because fried food looses crunch after it has been left out..but it lost flavor..These two items went from good to bland..Going to give these 2 items a 3/5.Still undecided if I want to give this place another try. The drinks were just so good..and the pad thai here has good reviews..maybe it was just an off day for the chief? Unsure..but if I do come back and have a better experience I will update this review."
"Chicken is always good here. We got the crispy (half order), japchae, fried rice cake and rose tteokbokki (not pictured). Service was pretty fast since not that many people. They have a ramen bar if you're into that. Clean and small location."
"Ngon nhức nách!! Soooo good and authentic. Mouthwatering to think about. Can't wait to try all their flavors. Will be bringing friends here. Mmmmmmm."
"This place is located in fuse bar at downtown San Jose. You can order from a machine. It's a club/dark so it's not a dine in.The seasoned fries are really good. It's amazing and crispy. The chicken is solid. Nothing too crazy. Mac and cheese is not bad but nothing crazy. The sauce is good too"
"At first not gonna lie we were confused as the outside of this place has a DoorDash sign in a busy plaza. They informed us they have been opened for only about two weeks. You are able to eat there and currently the ambiance is very low key. Not many people there. Most orders seem to be to go. Heads up if you do eat there, they are still getting the place together in terms of they don't have napkins at tables, they are going to put out more tables, and they are trying to get the hang of the concept.Food wise: so everything we ordered we would recommend. The Bulgogi fries were delicious and crispy. The Bulgogi was evenly distributed with the fries. The glazed chicken was delicious and the sauce was evenly coated on all the pieces. The GFC rice bowl I nibbled on it here and there. The dumpling was crispy on the outside and warm on the inside. Overall recommend to try."
