"I used to stop in here a lot when I was in Redwood City everyday. It was a chill hangout after we would get out of school and it accommodates large groups and loud gatherings. The vibe is super chill and the service was great. Today I did just stop in to eat, we were going to stop at a German restaurant in the city but our next destination was in Redwood City so I suggested the gourmet haus. I'm used to the schnitzels being as large as the plate and this was very small but still good. Love the vinaigrette on the salad and got the käsesspätzle and wished when we said not the veggie one they didn't exclude the onions. It was a bit plain. Next time bacon and the crispy onions might spruce it up a bit. The jäger schnitzel sando was sooo good and the mushroom sauce tasty! I enjoyed the homemade chunky applesauce with my potato pancakes. I highly recommend stopping in here for a good, tasty and affordable meal.We hit the market in the front on the way out and all the Christmas stuff is there which was exciting."
"Overall, it was a fantastic experience. The restaurant staff welcomed our large party warmly and even allowed us to order drinks before everyone had arrived. During the appetizer phase, we were treated to a delicious variety of both hot and cold appetizers. The pacing was spot-on, allowing us to sample everything without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. For the entrée, I had the Branzino with a side of pilaf rice, and it was absolutely amazing, the fish was cooked to perfection. For dessert, I ordered the baklava ice cream. While I wasn't a huge fan of it (the ratio of baklava to ice cream felt a bit off), it was still a sweet and enjoyable way to end the meal.Definitely a great restaurant, and I'll be sure to visit again when I'm in the area!"

"We met up with some friends here at Mission City Grill to have brunch and catchup on their recent vacation, holiday, etc.It has been a while since we last came here, so it was nice to revisit. The service was nice and friendly as soon as you walked in the door. Our server was good too. She was friendly, patient, and attentive! The decor reminds me of an Italian restaurant. It's not. Good old American cuisine. LOL. Breakfast served all day, Burgers, Sandwiches, and Entrees. Separate Restrooms for Men & Women's with multiple stalls. The Classics: Two cage free eggs, hashbrowns & toast or pancakes. Substitute French Toast or waffle ($2).*Hash & Eggs: Old Fashion Corned Beef Hash. It was from a CAN and griddled. It was a good breakfast. I really enjoyed the Swedish Pancakes with lingonberry butter! So good! I shouldn't be surprised since they are connected with Holder's.My wife and friend split theOmlettes & Scrambles: Choice of omlette souffle or diced scramble with Hash browns. Choice of toast or pancakes. Substitute French Toast ($2).*Supreme Scramble: linguica, sausage, bacon, ham, mushrooms, bell peppers, jack & white cheddar cheese, Spanish sauce (4/5). They ordered the diced scramble and added a waffle. They enjoyed the scramble a lot. They had them put the sauce of the side. The waffle was light, yet crispy. Our other friend enjoyed his Fire Guacamole Burger: Angus chuck beef patty, guacamole, crispy onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, pepper jack cheese, special sauce, artisan bun, fried jalapeño.Come check them out!"
"This is a great authentic restaurant off the beaten path of Castro Street in downtown Mountain View. They have all the traditional dishes you'd expect at a Mexican restaurant. The drinks are yummy too! I'd highly recommend the Sangria! We were so busy eating that I forgot to take pictures. Here are a few of the inside and outside seating areas. They have an okay seating area in the parking lot, but the inside is magical with artwork and unique lighting."
"This restaurant had been here for a while and I've never been. I would highly recommend Metro for breakfast. Good portions, friendly staff and priced fair. Everything is made it order and super fresh. Country fried steaks in my opinion are hit or miss, but this one hit the spot. A good portion of hashbrowns and theirnorsnfe juice is really good too! I'll be back."
"A welcoming place amidst office complex, sjc airport, 101 and Kaizer! Love the free parking around it and welcoming outdoor and indoor seating. As you enter, you are greeted by friendly faces! You can make a reservation at "open table" if you plan to be there between peak hours. In $55 (before tip), we got:- your choice of 2 topping pizza - 4/5 - we got jalapeño, mushroom, olives. Bell peppers. They charged $1 for each extra topping. The pizza was loaded with veggies on a thin but tender crust.- veggie primavera pasta - 5/5 - we swapped the sauce from creamy white to vodka sauce for an extra charge and it was totally worth it. Bomb pasta and heavy/ huge portion size. Good to share!- garlic bread with cheese - 4/5 - huge portion and good quality cheese. I wish they added some herbs/ etc too on it to add a kick- complimentary sour dough rolls 5/5 are served on request. Loved it! - garden green salad - 4/5 - side plate of salad with greens, carrots, a big tomato slice and vinegar drenched onions. Pairs well with the sour dough rolls.Service is impeccable :) and it's a pleasure visiting them! #supportlocal"
"Food was really good, just the salmon skewer was a little bit on the drier side. Otherwise flavor and presentation is good! Karaage chicken was very juicy! Service was amazing, they took the time to explain the menu. It is a great place to meet with friends, drink and munch on some tapas."
"Staff is great and attentive even in the busiest days. Food is amazing as expected. Dining at paradise beach grille never fails."
"i have been going to bar bay grill for the past two years as a regular and i absolutely adore this place. their $1 oysters on tuesday and thursdays are a steal and i love going during those times. i usually avoid bars since i do not drink but this place's atmosphere does not make it uninviting. you could definitely bring kids and the atmosphere would still be light and fun.honestly there had never been a bad bite from me here.my favorite things are the oysters, garlic bread, wings, garlic fries, samgyeopsal, chicken wings. i love this place to death and it definitely needs more people coming here!"

"We came rather late but there was no wait or line. We were seated right away. I had the pomagranate fizz non-alcoholic drink and hubs had the henhouse beer. He never drinks or likes beer but said it was surprisingly good! My drink was refreshing and delish! We had the back ribs pizza and the cheese was super good. My other half said it tasted like feta (slightly gamey) but I tasted none of that. I really enjoyed the fresh cheese and it reminded of queso fresco. We also got a Margherita with Italian fennel sausage to go for the kiddos and that was also tasty! Love the thin crust. Reminds me of new York"
"Khanh Do AttitudeLocally-owned mom-and-pop restaurant that's been serving authentic Vietnamese cuisine to the South Bay for nearly forty-five years (1981).They've moved around quite a bit over the years, with their last location being on Winchester Blvd across from The Row. This current location (±3yrs) is at the old Carrow's (RiP), and is well-suited for them and their clientele. The Good:*Private parking lot, as well as street parking available. *Great service and not at all like your typical ESSJ Viet restaurant, where they rush you thru and treat you like garbage. *Private party room available (min 25 max 40)*Nothing says class like smooth jazz in the background. :)*Booths!! I friggin love booths. :)))*Bottled beers (nothing fancy) and wine*Fresh Rolls (aka Gỏi Cuốn) were fresh and tasty, and I liked that they gave you options and price breaks on how many rolls you want (2,4, or 6). My only complaint was the dipping sauce wasn't the typical peanut sauce but soy sauce and a handful of peanuts thrown in. I mean it was fine once I added some Sriracha and hoisin to it, but still a bit odd. *Vietnamese Beef Stew (aka Bò Kho) was delicious and one of the best renditions I'd had in a while. The broth had a nice deep flavor and all the veggies and beef were cooked to perfection. My only complaint was I wish it had more beef, but that's always my complaint. *oink oink* :8)*Speaking of the Bò Kho, I got the more traditional baguette to go along with it and it was phenomenal. I'm not sure if they make it on house, but it was a very good baguette. I bet their bánh mìs are fantastic.*Carissa loved their Ginger Chicken (aka Gà Kho Gừng) as the chicken was cooked and seasoned nicely and the dish was filled with great ginger flavor. The Meh:*No outdoor diningThe Ugly:*I saw a few reviews on here stating that the food isn't "authentic" (whatever that means) but that's pure horseshit. Combined, we've eaten at dozens of Vietnamese restaurants throughout the country, so while we might not be the arbiters of what's "authentic" and what's not, I think we know anglicized cuisine when we see it--and this ain't it. Sure, the clientele is a bit sus, but we're in Campbell for fuck's sake. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯Conclusion: Good food, great service, and terrific ambiance."

Came here on a date night with my bro after being impressed with the reviews on Yelp! I'm a big fan of Greek food, and don't feel like I eat it often enough. The vibes in the photos looked perfect for a chill night out with delicious food and drinks!I made a reservation through OpenTable, which was helpful to make sure we didn't have to wait. The place was decently busy, but definitely not full for a Saturday night. We came after dark, which I recommend, as I think it really highlights the lighting and aesthetics! DRINKS:Slay (vodka, white rum, muddled fresh berries, fresh lime juice & ginger beer - $14): This was such a delicious cocktail, I got two! Highly recommended for a smooth, fruity cocktail that's got a little kick. Latte ($6): My buddy got this one instead of his second round of adult beverages, and had really good things to say about this as a pairing with the Profiteroles. FOOD:We came with the intention of ordering a handful of starters and other dishes to share. This is a great spot for that, as they have lots of delicious shareable dishes!Pita Bread - The warm, fresh tasting pita bread comes free as if you were at an Italian spot bringing you a basket of fresh bread. The only difference is they don't offer free olive oil or balsamic vinegar to dip. This is where they get you, by enticing you to get some of the delicious "Greek Spreads" so that you're not eating dry pita. Tzatziki (sheep milk yogurt, cucumber, fresh mint & dill - $9): This was a delicious take on a classic spread/dip. It was creamy and flavorful. Paired perfectly with the pita, as well as the other dishes that needed a little cool contrast. Tirokafteri (roasted bell pepper, imported spicy herbs & feta cheese - $9): Another creamy and delicious dip. This one was a little spicier than the Tzatziki, but not too spicy. My buddy, who is really sensitive to spicy things, loved this one! The feta was a nice touch on the top and added some great flavor!Calamari (deep fried Monterey calamari with housemade tartar sauce - $16): My buddy ordered this one, as I'm very particular about the calamari I like. I did try a few pieces, and as someone who isn't huge on calamari, this was good. It wasn't overly chewy (one of my biggest gripes), and the breading was flavorful.Zucchini Cake (crispy zucchini cakes with cucumber & mint-yogurt dressing - $14): These were good, not great. I enjoyed the crispiness and fresh taste, though the flavor didn't blow me away. I probably would pass on these in the future. Oven Baked Prawns (wood-oven roasted prawns with tomato, onion, fresh basil & feta - $14): These were also good but not great. I would consider ordering this again, but I feel like I was hoping for a little more bold flavorful that stuck with me. Saghanaki (pan fried Kefalotyri cheese with lemon & oregano - $13): This was the star of the show. What the description doesn't mention, is that they pan fry it right in front of you! It comes in a small skillet, and it gets lit at your table. Once the flame goes out, what's left is some incredibly crispy and flavorful cheese.Brussel Sprouts (marinated crispy Brussel sprouts - $9): Indeed crispy and delicious. I definitely enjoyed these, and would order them again!Greek Fries (French fries with mild spicy garlic yogurt fondue - $9): This was a solid portion of deliciously seasoned fries. They were a great side to everything, and were perfect dipped in the Tzatziki and Tirokafteri.Homemade Profiteroles (homemade hollow pastry filled with French vanilla gelato and topped with melted chocolate sauce - $9): What an incredible dessert! The presentation on this was amazing, and it was so good! The flavors paired amazingly together, and it was the perfect way to end a wonderful meal!Overall this was a meal to remember. The staff were all super friendly and accommodating, and the food was authentic and amazing. The vibes are perfect for a date night, friends dinner, or any meal where you just want incredible food! I look forward to bringing the wifey here for a night out very soon to try some more of these delicious dishes!IG: @bbnem.eats

Since we discovered Mission city Grill 2 months ago, we have been here 3 times!!! Anytime we are in the mood for good old American food staples, we think of Mission City.Love the fact that there is no crowd or queue to get in for an impromptu dinner... We also love to have a large breakfast for dinner and their breakfast is served all day which makes it another plus. The staff is super friendly, helpful and efficient. Some of our favorites so far are their chicken fired steak and eggs, burgers, fried chicken with waffles and on the most recent visit blackened salmon salad!! The side of the garlic fries are super yummy and a must try as well. Food portions are generous but not super massive, the quality is good and service is fast and efficient. Will be back again soon!!

I love their brunch, and I recommend the tuna melt for lunch. They check on you a little bit after you get your food to ensure satisfaction. You feel very welcomed once you come in. And the room is very lit up.:)Review left by my son who loves Metro City, and we as his parents love It as well.

First of all, it will be hard to get better service. Chelo, our server, was excellent. He really took care of us.I had the meatballs and pasta. Way too much food! Very hearty. My wife enjoyed her gnocchi. My son in law had the Frutti di Mare and it was loaded with fish. Daughter had the pasta marinara with vodka sauce. She had bay shrimp which made it really tasty. We usually eat here when we go to the San Jose Airport. We always look forward to a great Italian meal.

I had a rough NOC shift so I decided to go out and get something to eat so here I am. I waited outside 10 minutes before they opened and I am glad they did because this place got packed so fast. I ordered the Uni flan, the seasonal wagyu bone marrow, 3 premium skewers (Hokkaido Hotate & Uni, Uni x Wagyu x Ikura, Maguro Toro Negima), and the Kurogami ice cream and matcha mochi. The Uni flan was very unique and was an explosion of flavor with every scoop. The skewers were all well seasoned and very enjoyable. The Wagyu bone marrow was very tender and the side salt and wasabi complimented it very well. The Sesame ice cream with matcha mochi was very creamy and had the right amount of sweetness to it. The staff here are really nice. They checked up often and they even gave great food recs. The restaurant itself is very contemporary and gives off late date night vibes. All in all a great experience. Definitely check this spot out. Try it out if you like. :)

"If you want an amazing dining experience with old world charm this is the place. It been a while since I have been here still the same great food . Will definitely be back . Thank you Garden club for an outstanding meal"
"Pocha K's a solid late night spot with a lively environment. Amazing spot to get good grub with friends and enjoy some soju past midnight. My friends and I came here for a 21st birthday party and were pleasantly delighted by the vibes, service, and most importantly... the FOOD! Here's everything we ordered:Kimchi Fried Rice - 9.5/10 - Flavorful, tasty, and overall DELICIOUS! So good we ordered seconds.Corn Cheese - 7/10 - Typical corn cheese, very solid order. Nothing spectacular but still very good. Rabokgi - 6/10 - Tteokbokki with ramen, not the best one I've had just because it's a little sweeter than I'd like. Only thing I didn't really like here. Chicken Gizzard - 10/10 - WOWOWOWOW! I loved the chicken gizzard, so perfectly seasoned and presented on a sizzling plate. A MUST TRY! Overall, pretty solid experience. Definitely recommend visiting if you haven't been already."
"After a retirement luncheon at a restaurant in Santana Row, ten of decided to take to come here with the new retiree for a drink to toast his retirement. El Jardin is an open air restaurant and bar. We were seated at a long high-top table and to order, you scan the QR Code at the table to pull up the menu. With a long drive back home, I opted for a non-alcoholic drink and got a Pina Co-Nada. It was a refreshing pineapple and coconut juice over ice topped with some whipped cream and coconut flakes. It was perfect drink after a heavy lunch meal. It was a nice environment with the trees and bushes and heat lamps.Restrooms were about 100 ft away around the corner from Left Bank Brasserie before the stairways to the garage.Nice outdoor bar restaurant with good drinks and friendly service."
"The food here is great, with generous portions for the bento box. The ramen is decent, but the crunchy sushi roll was outstanding. The interior is clean, and the staff is great!"
"Picked up a Spicy Chicken plate, it came with rice, salad, a dressing, and soup. Very good portion of the chicken, given the plate is slightly on the expensive side. It was more of a chicken teriyaki flavor profile with a kick of spice to it (not sure what type of spicy sauce was used), but it tasted good. It was pretty saucy. Just about right for a dinner. I was not very fond of the miso soup, I felt it was a little overpowering for me.Overall I'd say 3.5/5. Nice ambience and a decent sized parking lot, a couple of other restaurants in the complex as well. They get the food ready pretty quick."
"Almost as good as House of Prime Rib! I was able to make reservations with no issues and no wait. The restaurant is located in downtown San Mateo. Parking can be difficult depending on timing of the evening. I think it was the Owner that constantly checked on us during dinner. He was very friendly. It was my birthday and they offered a complimentary tiramisu. My husband and I enjoyed the food. The only difference between this place and HOPR is the entertainment from servers mixing salad and etc.Overall I will definitely come back!"
"Went to Yellow Chilli with my family. We had the following appetizers: Chanachor garam, vegmanchow soup, and hadippa paneer tikka. Both apps were flavorful and channa chor was nice and crispy. The green chutney that came with it was also a nice touch. We had the following main dishes: shaam savera, puransingh ka tariwala murgh, kebab vegetable wala. Our favorite was shaam savera! The sauce was so good and the paneer was so soft. We also had different types of naan to go with it as well as the onion chilli roti. Overall the food was great and will be coming back. Also, shout out to our server James who helped us decide between dishes and drinks. He was also very friendly and funny. Thank you for tolerating my dad's jokes, James!"
"Came here for a team lunch and it was a great find! I got this confused with the other Monkey Thai where I didn't have the best experience, but this place is completely different. The waitress was busy but prompt. Super friendly and sweet. Their lunch specials are the way to go! You get an app, meal, and a drink for about $20. It's plenty of food too! Everything was tasty. Service was fast. The music was a bit loud, but they must have noticed and turned it down midway through. Also, it got busy and poor waitress didn't have any help so it took awhile to get our bill and some boxes. All in all, it was a great experience and I wouldn't mind coming here again for a good portion lunch plate."
"Casual breakfast spot with Some of their standout dishes including the corned beef hash, Nutella waffles, and chicken & waffles. The atmosphere is welcoming, and it's a great place for breakfast or brunch. Popular menu items like their Irish hash and fried chicken sandwiches are consistently flavorful. Though the food quality is generally good, some customers feel a few dishes could use more seasoning. Overall, it's a solid option for comfort food and friendly service ."
"We completely stumbled onto Oswald because we were in the area and had a terrible experience somewhere else. Oswald saved our night!Oswald had the ideal blend of sultry ambiance, swanky decor with local artwork and cool lighting fixtures, great cocktails, delicious bites, and too-notch attentive service! Our server checked on us so much that I knew she caught whenever we finished a plate or a drink because she'd swoop in to take it or offer something else. She was fastastic. Customers seemed happy and the noise level was medium. It's not a family/kids place; more of an adult vibe, just fyi. I can't wait to return to Oswald for a full dining experience."
"This is one of my favorite spots in town for Pho. They offer a variety of options on their menu that are also delicious!I highly recommend their steak with garlic noodles and any of their Pho options. They do a great job at packaging up fire for take out. If you decide to eat in expect to wait a bit as the service can be spotty. If you're sensitive to noise know what this can be a bit of a louder restaurant."
"The food here feels less heavy than typical Mexican restaurants or taquerias. I got a combo order with the chile relleno and Mole Enchilada. Chile Relleno - I should have read that this was grilled. There was no batter, but it was still tasty, and I didn't miss it much.Mole Enchilada - Flavor of the mole was good. The shreds of chicken breast were large, so it was a bit hard to eat. Beans and rice - Solid."
"Work lunch on a Thursday for colleague's birthday.Love that the garlic naan is still piping warm and the aroma of this entree is amazing. I love all kinds of Indian food. Today I stepped into something different for my palette and the amount of spice is quite spicy but I love it. As I'm writing I'm devouring and biting into the corn kofta is soft, I can taste the bits and pieces of the ingredients of corn and they give you huge pieces. I like that they don't skimp. This blows my brain, the spiciness. lol. I love it. I can't wait to try more dishes from Passage of India. I love spinach and this hit the spot for me.Thank you, "I'll be back"!"
"Wow, just wow. Excellent time at the Cowboy bar & grill. Really feels like you're taking a little vacation in another state! They have an awesome menu of various sandwiches, salads, meat plates, chili, and more. We got the pulled pork on cornbread (Naughty Ned? Nasty Ned?) and it was honestly better than expected. I thought it might be a mushy greasy mess but the cornbread stayed together and paired really well with the pulled pork. We also got one of their specials which had braised short ribs with mashed potatoes. All around very satisfying. Their porch is dog friendly so we got to bring our pooch and even though we dressed warm enough to not need one, there were heat lamps. Service was just the right amount of attentive and very quick/kind. At the end we received a little envelope and if come back within a timeframe with it we can claim some prize. Genius marketing really, I wanna know so badly what's in that envelope that I'm just gonna have to come back. They also rock an all country playlist which takes me back to my country days!! Yeehaw!"
"This is an amazing location The staff is very kind and welcoming I love the ambiance here very elegant Perfect for our date we came here We had such a great time at this wonderful restaurant We had a delicious dessert a picture worth a thousand words Over all 5 stars if not more"
"My husband picked El Patio for his birthday dinner on Sunday, Jan. 12th. He saw they had chicken mole and he was excited to try theirs. I had a two item dinner plate with a cheese enchilada and chile relleno, which was a good portion of food and delicious. My husband was happy with his mole, sweet and a little spicy. My adult daughter had their chicken soup, which she enjoyed. I convinced my family we wanted a pitcher of margaritas, and wow! it was definitely a value for three people. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. While it seemed they had quite a few diners for a Sunday night, there was not a wait and it was not noisy--both a plus. What made my husband's dinner even more special was the great service we received from all of the young people working at El Patio: everyone was genuinely pleasant, they checked on us regularly and the service was perfect. We will definitely be visiting El Patio more often."
"Came here with my coworkers. I love how there's a rooftop upstairs. It was such perfect weather and comfy lounging. The food is actually pretty good. The drinks were also really good and refreshing. Some items can be on the pricier side. I honestly don't have any complaints. The servers were fun and attentive. I would come back again. Here comes the food review...Chips and guacamole with crickets: what an experience and very tasty 5/5Fried calamari: pretty good with the sauce 4/5Not pictured: wings 5/5 very flavorful Tuna tostadas: pretty good! 4/5Shrimp ceviche: really refreshing. Bomb with chips. 4/5Overall everything was really good, just pricey. I love how they have their own small parking area next to it too!"
"Huge shout out to Leon and Fermaid (I'm not sure how to spell your name), y'all were amazing! Thank you for a great experience! Had such a great evening - good vibes! Will definitely be back!!"
"The kind of delicious, comforting, warm food that you want to eat that feels like you are at your friends house. Nothing pretentious or overdone, just tasty food.Absolutely love the way the tortillas are prepared for the crispy taco, my favorite is the shredded beef. It also has lettuce, cheese, and little bit of red salsa. Warm and crunchy, they're addicting. (Forgot to take a picture of this before gobbling it up)Love the classic enchilada plate with rice and beans. I like to keep it simple and just have cheese. So savory and filling. Sour cream and guacamole available on the side to make the perfect bite."
"Love the ambiance here. Casual but very well put together Mexican restaurant. Great customer service, clean interior, decent food, and awesome outdoor patio dining during good weather. Dog friendly restaurant. Dishes that stood out for me were the shrimp cocktail (Coctel De Camaron) and Hercules burrito. The shrimp cocktail was thick and hearty and they didn't skimp on the ingredients. It was loaded with yummy goodness; flavorful sauce that didn't taste watered down. The prices here are very reasonable and I would love to come back and try other items on the menu. Don't forget their specials on Taco Tuesday and Thirsty Thursday. Street parking as well as public lot parking."
"We ordered Pollo al cilantro, Burrito pollo asada. Both tasted great. The portion sizes were huge. Complementary fresh chips with salsa tasted good, the chips were fresh and crispy. Loved the ambiance too."
"We have staycationed at Ameswell twice and eaten at Roger both times. I really like the restaurant, and my husband and I were just saying we should come back even when we aren't staying at the hotel. It's one of the most family friendly restaurants I have been to, but to make it even better the food and drinks are great as well. The atmosphere is very relaxed and because the restaurant is indoor-outdoor, kids can easily go back and forth between the table and grassy area (with cornhole, giant Jenga, giant Connect Four). On our recent visit, we ordered 2 kids meals. The butter pasta was good but cooked al dente so it was a little firm for our 1-year-old (but perfectly fine for our older daughter). The fruit salad had strawberries and blackberries which was great - it wasn't just melon! The pizza is more like a flatbread than a traditional pizza just FYI and the chocolate chip cookies were really good! I like how the kids drink can be milk, apple juice, lemonade, orange juice, or a Shirley temple. The adults enjoyed the margherita flatbread, berry salad, and skewers. The skewers were actually from the yakitori grill but we brought them back to eat at our table. I think they are only available on the weekends. Be sure to take advantage of the happy hour. It's 4-6pm even on weekends and drinks were 20% off when we went. Service is friendly and food comes out fairly quickly. 5 stars all the way!"
"My husband and I visited Empire Grille (Felton, CA) after hiking in Henry Cowell State Park. (07.25.2024). The restaurant is unpretentious, and it seemed that there were mostly locals at the tables and at the bar area, with a few obvious tourists or visitors from Henry Cowell. The restaurant advertises that they serve hearty comfort foods and offer a full bar. The restaurant was moderately busy, but we were greeted and seated quickly. We chose to dine indoors although outdoor seating was available. As we usually do, we split our entrees. My husband ordered the American Cheeseburger ($10.95, rating: 4/5), which is made from 100% ground chuck, with American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and mayonnaise on a toasted sesame bun. The burger was served with crispy French fries. (5/5). The burger was cooked perfectly, and was tasty. A slight reduction in the rating because the burger was overwhelmed by the much larger bun. My entree was the Asian Chicken Salad ($15.95. Rating: 4/5). The salad was advertised as having "crispy greens, mandarin oranges, roasted cashews, ginger sesame dressing, Thai chicken, and crispy chow mein noodles." The salad was also very good, as was the serving size. It would've been better with more greens. Additionally, it was light on cashews and the chow mein noodles, but I did enjoy the addition of cucumbers and sesame seeds that weren't advertised on the description. Service was good. We especially appreciated that the waitress regularly replenished our waters. We were very thirsty after having been hiking in the sun. Thumbs down. There was an undisclosed, automatic add-on "credit card processing fee" on our bill. (Rating: 0/5). While minimal in amount, this is a deceptive and disturbing business practice."
