Classic Asian desserts reminiscent of my trips to Hong Kong sweet shops!Located in this spacious lot, you'll find the convenience of a grocery store but also niche eateries like Sweet Honey Dessert. Just blocks away from the lake, this is a fine place to come after a walk in the cool evening air to warm up your stomachs or cool down from a brisk walk in the sun.Upon entry, you'll be greeted with a well lit room full of tables and seats for medium to large parties. It's not a big place but they make good use of the space they have. They do only have a single bathroom but it's quite large and clean. If they're not busy fulfilling orders (the place can get packed during peak hours), one of the staff members will tend to you, and if you plan to order to go, you can do so straight from the register. Otherwise, they'll seat you with a couple of their menus (one for their desserts and one for their drinks and snacks).Once seated, you may need a bit of time to peruse their extensive menu. They have so many different desserts and drinks that you'll need to weigh your options or you may end up ordering too much! From cold drinks and tofu puddings to hot soups and custards, there will be something for everyone. I'd recommend ordering a little of everything and sharing with your party so you can get a taste of it all.We ultimately settled on a few items but we will definitely seek to come back to try the rest. We primarily came for dessert so we limited our options but they do also have salty snacks like chicken wings that looked scrumptious (the patrons at the table next to us ordered some and were chowing them down).Durian pancake - served cold with a green pancake skin on the outside and whipped cream and durian meat on the inside. Comes in two big pieces but we found cutting them in half made the taste last longer and allowed you to share.Mango tofu pudding - served cold encompassing silky tofu pudding topped with sweet mango juice and pulp. It was refreshing!Sesame and almond soup with sesame mochi balls - served hot and my personal favorite. Both soups had good texture and consistency and just the right amount of sweetness. The mochi balls were delicious and paired really well with the dessert. Definitely a shareable dish!Walnut and almond soup with sesame mochi balls - served hot and like the sesame/almond version, was delicious and well crafted. The walnut isn't as flavorful as others I've had but it was still good. Another one to share! We were much too full after our order to get anything else but we will be sure to come back. As it's so close to the highway/bridge, it'll be a nice pit stop next time we are in the peninsula. Also for those looking for some language immersion opportunities, the staff here speak Cantonese as well as Mandarin so you may have a chance to practice! What better way to practice than ordering food?!Overall, Sweet Honey Dessert definitely deserves more praise for commanding such a presence with its classic desserts. It's such a niche offering so when the craving hits for those Hong Kong and other Asian desserts, this is the place to go! Sure you may be able to make them yourself, but who has time for that and for just a taste, it's not worth the effort. With so many options to choose from, you'll be happy you came to Sweet Honey Dessert to get your sugar fix. Just be sure to bring some friends and family so you can all share!

Was craving Hui Lau Shan, but we were pretty far from the closest location. This satisfied our mango sago craving! Ambiance is great and the interior decoration was cute. Their menu is huge with so many things to choose from. One thing is that their mango sago could've been a bit sweeter. The mango was ripe but lowkey a bit too ripe (almost to the point where it was a bit mushy). The grass jelly coconut dessert was delicious! I'd come here again if I was in the area.

I've had Sweethoney Dessert years ago when they had a store in Dublin. It was my first time trying the one in Foster City. There was only one other table present when we arrived so our stuff came out rather quickly after ordering. The server was very friendly too.Since we were not really hungry, we just had snacks, a drink and a dessert. The snacks were not bad, but the Thai curry fish balls were too pricey. 8 small fish balls for $8 - $1 for one small fish ball was too much. I think $6 would have been more than enough, but guess we'd have to blame inflation. 5 wings for $10 was also expensive, but at least they were much bigger. Both were a little spicy, which I liked. The purple yam sago milk was okay. I liked that it was not very sweet, but it was a bit simple for me. That's okay since my wife ordered it. I really wanted the mango pomelo sago tofu pudding. The pomelo was tart and the tofu pudding silky. There was mango, but the flavor was weak. If it had better mango, then I would have completely satisfied with the item. This wasn't a meal, and it ended up at $37 pre-tip. Think it would have been $30 more to have a satisfying meal for two. I give 3.5 stars, but rounded up to 4 based on its fast food arrival and friendly service.

I like coming here after shopping at 99 Ranch 99. This is becasue they have durian items, which is uncommon. Most people I know detest durian, but I think it's the food of the gods. This time I ordered the durian and sweet rice of milk snow - and also ordered a fruit rink with cheese cream topping for my younger son. Wow the Duran was perfect and the rice was fresh and I ate it within a few minutes lol - the icey snow took longer becasue of brain freeze. Definitely a good job on that dessert. My son didn't really like the cheesy cream topping so he took a few gulps and left the rest to my husband and myself. I thought it was pretty good, but perhaps the berries weren't fresh. But I was all about the cheesy cream topping anyway lol. I'll be back. YAY DURIAN!

I am back, yet again! One are my favorite dessert places. I constantly find myself here after dinner to satisfy my sweet tooth. I love the sweet potato and yam gluten rice balls. They also had regular rice balls as well but they don't and that's OK but they do have rice balls filled with sesame paste. I wish they were back to paper menu so it is easier to flip back and see what items I want to pick between, but I guess iPad will do. Swinging by this place if you want a good Asian dessert place.

I've been to various Sweet Honey locations in the South Bay for the past 5-6 years, back when they were at their peak of popularity. Recently, after a long break, we went back to the Milpitas one and it was not the same. QR code to order; desserts were served in paper cups with plastic spoons; server acted cool and aloof. Thus, we didn't expect much when we stopped by this Foster City location on our way back from a Korean BBQ in San Bruno.I'm totally head over heels in love with this location! Such a wonderful surprise to see a good-old-day dessert store with attentive server, nice decoration, warm and cozy ambience, with desserts actually served in their signature square yellow bowls! My sister and I were super excited when the desserts came out that our server was surprised. She might have thought to herself that these girls must love dessert a lot LOLThe store was clean; chair was comfy; dessert was tasty and presented nicely; noise level is minimal and just right. Server was attentive and polite. There are ample parkings around. It's next to 99 Ranch Supermarket so you can easily order to go, do a quick grocery run next door and come back to pick up your order. Even at their peaks, none of the South Bay's Sweet Honey locations could hold a candle to this store. My sister and I still had that warm and fuzzy feeling after being served well and having a wonderful experience at a sweet shop. The only drawback: we have to drive all the way to Foster City now if we want to have this feeling again LOL! But if you live nearby, you're so blessed. Please take advantage and check them out :)

Decent mango options for dessert! This is definitely a great spot to hang out with friends for hours. It does get busy, so there may be a wait.

My second sweet honey dessert in two months. How could this be? First in Colma and now stumbled upon the Foster city location. I really stepped out of my comfort zone and enjoyed it! Was greeted, and seated quickly on a Friday night! Everything was fresh and tasty but admittedly the hot dessert took awhile to come out so just be patient. In cansé your wondering they can make add-ons I asked for the toddy fruit and it was $2. Enjoy!

I recently ordered a Paypaya Ice, and unfortunately, the taste was off--it had a distinct metallic flavor. Given the $8 price tag, I expected a higher-quality experience. Although they did offer to switch the drink for me, the response from staff was less than ideal, as they suggested the issue was with my taste. I was disappointed with both the product and the customer service, and I would not recommend this establishment based on my experience."
