Respectable Bird

Stopped by barebottle to check these guys out - great food truck service, very friendly and organized - very generous portion sizes I could have split the tenders honestly - loads of waffle fries w it- signature house sauce really nice, bbq good also not too sweet. I love pickles and these were a nice extra, Cornbread muffin light and airy, mochi ube cake nice little hit of sweet- , not super chewy but super cute presentation of it in mini loaf pan. Solid food truck to add into my rotation in Bernal

Found this food truck during an event at Devil's Canyon Brewing Company in San Carlos this past weekend, and it was exactly what I needed to fill my hunger. There was hardly a line to order and the wait was about 12 minutes or so. The workers seemed to be working efficiently in that truck, which I appreciated. Got the sandwich sack, regular (not spicy), with some extra sides of the house sauce and ranch for dipping those waffle fries. Loved the juicy and flavorful fried chicken thigh inside that potato bun, just the right amount of house sauce (similar to thousand island dressing but not quite), perfect amount of veggies to balance out the flavors, even the size of the sandwich was ideal, a generous portion but not oversized that it falls apart or is difficult to eat like at other similar eateries. The waffle fries were a bit soggy but had really good flavor (a clean taste not seasoning), so all in all, it was a very satisfying meal.

We got lunch from here when it was at the Renegade Craft Fair. We ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and the chicken tenders box with fries.* Chicken sandwich: 4.5/5. Pretty good, the spiciness mostly came from the sauce, which wasn't distributed evenly. It started off not spicy at all and ended up very spicy because all the sauce was at one side. The chicken was nice and juicy, fried to a crisp with a very nice texture and flavor. It was also a good-sized piece of chicken.* Chicken tenders with fries: 4/5. The tenders were also fried well but a bit on the drier side, which makes sense since it's breast meat. They were also pretty big pieces. We chose the BBQ sauce, which was very nice and flavorful. However, the waffle fries were not salted enough and only some were lightly crispy, which was the only disappointment.The service was decent. They asked if we wanted ketchup when we got the order, but we had to ask for napkins later. Overall, it's a respectable fried chicken place, but I would skip the fries next time.

Ordered here for lunch at their food truck when they visited Levi's Plaza. There were a few orders ahead of me, took around 7 minutes for my order to come out.Price wise this place seems pretty high compared to other fried chicken places. The sandwich is $14 and the waffle fries are $6. You can get the sandwich box for $20 that includes both and also comes with a drink.Overall I thought the food was just ok. The chicken was crispy but too dry for my taste. The sauce was also too strong. The waffle fries were slightly seasoned but was pretty uneven.

Got their fried chicken sandwich with waffle fries at first Friday Oakland. Fries and chicken were crispy but tasted a little dry- The flavor was decent but the texture, though crunchy gave me the feeling that they had been frozen for a while and not cooked thoroughly through. Only get it spicy if you are confident in handling spicy food. It's spicy!

Holy Moly! DARK MEAT- FRIED CHICKEN crispy af and juicy. The seasoning hits the spot. I got waffle fries and cole slaw. Habanero sauce is the sauce you got to be careful and classic bbq sauce. Came last minute for a meal at Spark Social SF. Want to try the tenders next time!!

Chicken tender box with fries was awesome! The 3 tenders were large, perfectly seasoned and not too salty. The fries were waffle cut style and appeared freshly cut. Portions were generous and the price was very reasonable. We had the BBQ sauce and a little small for the tenders. A little more sauce would be ideal. Prep time was fast. We enjoyed this!

There aren't a lot of fried chicken food trucks that I frequent over and over again, frankly there aren't a lot of food trucks that I seek out in general... but Respectable Bird is definitely one that I like to visit time and time again.I was especially happy to see that they opened up a kitchen in the neighborhood I grew up in. They're located inside Rocks Den Bar on Mission btwn Persia and Russia Ave. My husband and I stopped by for a quick dinner before a show downtown and were very happy with everything we ordered. I ordered The Sandwich - spicy fried chicken with lettuce, pickles, on a potato bun served with a side of waffle fries. Hubs ordered a special they were running which was Two Drumsticks over Rice and Gravy, he also ordered an extra Fried Chicken Thigh. The fried chicken is just breaded to perfection, deliciously seasoned, and very moist on the inside... and it's good EVERY TIME. This was probably my 4th or 5th time having Respectable Bird and their quality is so consistent. Overall one of my favorite spots to grab a fried chicken sandwich, service is always nice, and they're so generous with their sauces. I will be back for that delicious fried chicken again soon!

We were the only customers on a Friday at 12:30pm, and it was maybe a 10-15 minute wait for the kitchen to make our meals after we ordered at the kiosk.I didn't get a photo, but the fried chicken had a dang good crisp thick breading and moist meat. I don't even like waffle fries but these were amazing, moist and soft, slight kick to the spice, just the lightest perfect amount of crisp. About $18 for 3 pieces with fries.

We decided to try this place out and I want to say their chicken burger was amazing. Their fries are fresh and crispy ! Service was fast and the energy seems great! I would definitely come back here again !
