I ate here last Thursday and I won't be going back. It was my first time eating at any Proper Food. Although I really scoff at paying $11+ for a ham and cheese sandwich - it's San Francisco, the prices are what they are. What's not normal though is the giant mouthful of grit & sand I got because it was very clear that they had not washed the lettuce on sandwich. I've also had stomach trouble every since, so who knows what other kind of nasty I got with that sandwich because of their poor food handling practices. Like I said, I won't be going back and will certainly not be ordering any catering for my office from this company. THIS IS HOW BAD A PLACE HAS TO BE TO HAVE ME MISSING LEE'S DELI!

Well I'm just going to say it....not the greatest fan of this place. It's in a good location but it's definitely over priced for what is being offered. Proper food had just opened up when the pandemic started and had to close down soon after... after almost 2 years they were able to open back up in December. Despite the triumphant return...to me it lacks the variety of what was previously at that corner. Its mostly geared toward clean and gluten feee food..which I won't knock.Today I was in the mood for a hot dish for lunch...so to my surprise there was a korean short ribs plate. Although very tasty- it was at the price of s15.75...for two short ribs and a scoop of rice with shredded carrots and green onion. I will stick to L & L Hawaiian bbq next time I have a hankering for the beef! Inside the shop is clean and spacious...and the one person running the counter by themselves was friendly but I' ll most likely skip this place unless I'm feeling a quite desperate.Ciao for now

Yes! Like the rest of the locations, this place is super clean and organized. I love how they have a bunch of easy takeout items like sandwiches but they also hot items that they can heat up for you.The salmon teriyaki is so good! I usually get it heated and take it across the street at the urban park to sit and enjoy my meal. This is a really good lunch spot and even though there's no dine-in option, you can easily take your food and go to any of the nearby sit down parks / outdoor dining areas to enjoy your food. Prices are reasonable the service is nice and prompt.

A welcome addition to the neighborhood. Sitting at the corner of Howard and Main - its brightly lit food display and large windows add much cheer to the block. The menu choices are almost guilt-free, and the price won't give you sticker-shock. Love it.
