I've been wanting to try this for the longest time and finally made it out there! The selection looked beautiful and the pear tart was amazinggggg. Definitely will need to try not things. Everyone was so nice and was a quick & easy checkout! I think they prefer cash or Venmo for payment fyi

tldr; excellent sweet pastries, come with Cash or Venmo, weekends only.I spotted this listing randomly while browsing. Intrigued, I decided to check it out. First, a few basics:* they're a home-run business. No website, only instagram at https://www.instagram.com/patisserieoncalifornia* check their website before coming! They are generally only open Sat/Sun 11am - 2pm, but being home run they often take long breaks.* they only accept cash or Venmo! Bags and boxes are available.Otherwise it's considerably less crowded compared to other popular, more commercial bakeries in San Francisco on a weekend. Here's what I tried:Gougères - 3/5 light and fluffy, sold in pairs (2 for $5). The ones I got were a bit cold, so I popped them in the air fryer at 400F/3min and they tasted much better after.Rice pudding with passion fruit couli - 4/5 this is excellent, once you get past a bit of sourness on the top layer of passionfruit. The texture of the pudding is both smooth and chunky from the rice, a delightful treat.Chocolate Eclair - 4.5/5 Very good! the pastry is not as crispy as I'd like, but both the chocolate cream and chocolate icing are very nicely balanced - not too sweet, with very good texture.Pear Tart - 5/5 amazing! The pear is very fresh and sweet. The texture of the rest of the tart is also quite smooth.French apple tartes - 3/5 I didn't quite like these, a little too sour for my tastes - but the texture is quite good.Galette De Rois - 5/5 King cake - this was an eye opener for me. Fluffy, crisp pastry with a delightful custard inside, these were a delight to chew on.Service is generally friendly. Overall, if you're in the area at the right time, I'd definitely recommend popping by to try out their stuff.

Such gem in the outer Richmond district of San Francisco. You can find the weekly menu @patisserieoncalifornia on Instagram and order ahead through DM. They are open Saturday and Sunday from 11AM - 2PM. I ordered the crab quiche and fruit tarts online. We got to the house around 11:30 on Saturday and there were a couple of people in line. The stand had a lot of treats on display as well, so I also picked up a box of macarons. You can pay with cash or Venmo. The pastries are absolutely delicious, and the crab quiche was a tasty lunch. Definitely worth a visit and I looking forward to returning and trying new treats.

I thought it was the young gentleman that runs this place. But it seems like the pastries are made by a very established older man. Who knew?!? I didn't.

This place is the definition of a neighborhood gem! We bought the napoleon, gougeres (savory pastry), mini pumpkin pie, eclair and the brioche bread. They were ALL amazing! I can't wait to come here again and feel so fortunate to live close to it!!

First, let me say, I'm not well-educated on proper patisserie techniques. I can only judge the style and flavors. With that, I need to tell you that these guys have really figured out the way to my heart. Tarts ($6) and other pastries are what you'll find and I'm sure you'll love them all just as much. The tarts were flaky, light and buttery with no unpleasant sweetness, and the Gougeres we tried were perfect savory morsels. Check out their IG @Patisserieoncalifornia for the menu. Be aware, they're only open on weekends from 11am-2pm.

Delicious! Definitely stop by.I tried the chocolate eclair, apple turnover, pear tart, and boston cream pie (pictured). I insisted on only one box. Everything was delicious!Other options available were the brownie, napoleon, madelines, macarons, meringue cookies, key lime tart, and others.
