Service: 5 starsOur waiter was friendly, fun and attentive. The staff made sure to take our empty plates so our table didn't feel too crowded and to refill water when needed.Food: 5 starsThe food was delicious. Although it was beautifully presented, it wasn't overly fancy. It felt like someone was making us a wonderful home cooked meal. Everything we ordered was delicious and cooked perfectly! I loved the salad dressing and the potatoes. I also really enjoyed the yogurt sorbet and granita for dessert. It was tangy and refreshing.Ambiance: 5 starsThe restaurant is huge! Although it was pretty crowded, we were comfortable. Whether you are just with your significant other or a large group, this is a great place for celebrating special occasions.

Tomato SaladThe daily special of tomatoes with olive oil and hummus is deliciousGrilled OctopusI had high expectations for this dish after reading everyone's comments. The performance on that day was not very good, with a subtle fishy smellLamb TongueIt was also a special on that day. I have never eaten lamb tongue before. The taste is very similar to stewed pork, but the strong lamb flavor is a bit uncomfortable for meWhole Fish LavakiI chose sea bass, the best dish of the whole place, the fish skin is crispy, the fish meat is grilled just right and very freshLamb ChopBecause there are too many dishes, I didn't order a whole portion of lamb. Their lamb is well processed, but it's a pity that I was too full to finish it in the endOverall, the grilled fish was the highlight of the meal. It may be slightly better than the one in Palo Alto, but it doesn't seem to be so special that you need to come to the city to eat it. It feels enough to eat at its sister store in South Bay, but it is indeed a good choice for those who live in the city and want to eat Greek food

Uniqueness: Authentic Greek cuisine with a refined twistWait Time: *** (Usually quick for lunch, but can get busy)Food Quality: **** (Delicious, fresh, and authentic Greek dishes)Service: **** (Professional, attentive, and efficient)Setting: **** (Elegant and inviting, perfect for business or casual dining)Cost: *** (On the pricier side, but worth it for the quality)Kokkari Estiatorio is an excellent spot for a business lunch. The atmosphere is elegant, making it a great place for discussions or a casual meal. The drinks were fantastic--craft cocktails that paired perfectly with the meal. The food was just as impressive: fresh, flavorful, and authentic Greek cuisine. Everything from the meze to the lamb chops was cooked to perfection. The service was attentive and efficient, creating a pleasant dining experience. A little on the pricier side, but the quality of the meal justifies it.

Was able to snag a Friday dinner reservation and had the loveliest time! Heads up that they have a pretty large secret menu, so be prepared to ask about that.Between three people, we split:-Lamb tongue (so good) - not on the official menu-Lamb chops (grilled perfectly medium rare)-Saghanaki (pan fried cheese with lemon)-Kalamari (stuffed with feta)-Marithes Tiganites (garlicky, crispy smelts - my personal favorite!)I felt like we ordered just the right amount of food (the starters are on the smaller side). Highly recommend the smelts and lamb tongue, but honestly everything was delicious.

I came here for lunch, and I really enjoyed it! The restaurant itself is beautiful and quite spacious. It had a really warm feel to it, like you were stepping into somebody's home. The staff were also very kind. For my appetizer, I had the grilled octopus. It was a pretty small portion, but it was really tasty. For my main, I had the halibut. My fish was cooked perfectly, and it was so delicious! It was served on top of a bed of lentils, and it was a great pairing. I didn't have a chance to try any desserts due to a fussy baby, but there were a couple that caught my eye. I'll just have to come back ;)

Will go back just to eat the rice pudding and octopus again and again and again! We were able to scoop a bar reservation for a party of 3 and they put us in the corner where we'd be able to face each other more for conversations than sitting side by side. There was a draft because it was directly down the hall from the front door, but it wasn't too bad especially after a glass of wine. Didn't snap pics of the entrees we got, but we had the stewed goat, the ravioli and moussaka. The orzo was my favorite! But hands down the appetizers and desserts were the best. Quite pricy (~110) per person but it was incredible and definitely one of my fav SF resto.

TLDR: Octopus 10/10zucchini 10/10 spanakopita 10/10 tzatziki 9/10grilled fish 9/10What an incredible experience at Kokkari. The service was incredible our waitress was so lovely and helpful and the food came out very promptly. The vibe was also so lovely. A nice setting and the SMELL was fabulous. We had the octopus which was perfection and the zucchini dish which was similarly delicious. We also got the tzatziki which was so yum. And the fish entree - very well prepared and nicely flavored. The two desserts we got did really impress me - effing fabulous. So unique and SO delicious. Like i bit of heaven in phyllo pastry. I would come here again for SURE to try more things on the menu. Sadly i do not live in SF but the next time im back you better believe ill be coming to kokkari. Still thinking about that octopus

We had a fairly good dining experience here. They had rather interesting menu items that we enjoyed, one of which was the peach salad. They are famously known for their lamb chops, which we loved and can highly recommend. Service was good, however a bit over bearing to the point where it was hard to enjoy our meal to the full extent. Nonetheless, better that than bad service! The restaurant is quite spacious, but be sure to make a reservation, as it was a full-house.

Reserved a table here to celebrate an anniversary - unfortunately there was no table available for us at our reservation time... aside from a shared one. The section was separated from the rest, so it was fine, but I wouldn't have been as stoked if it was set between the other groups. Despite this, the ambiance was lovely. 4/5Our server (an older bald gentleman) was very nice, attentive, and helpful all night. He made great recommendations, was very knowledgeable, and came around to check on us often. 5/5The food was delicious. We ordered chicken souvlaki and lamb souvlaki. The chicken was tender, flavorful, and a healthy portion. The lamb was even better, bursting with flavor and again, a nice portion. The meal would have been perfect, but I asked for medium rare, and it came back less than rare. It was hard to cut into the lamb due to how underdone it was. Even our server acknowledged how far off it was from my desired cook. 4/5The service and the food were both top-notch. Would absolutely recommend to others!

Ever since I first got to try Kokkari, I have increased my search to find an available reservation anytime I know I am coming back to the city for dinner after a round of drinks at Sprezzatura . From the moment you enter into the establishment, you're transported to a homey and comforting setting that also feels vast and airy in it's little corner of Jackson and Front Street. I don't think there could possibly be a bad table or seat in this restaurant.Anything I have had the chance to try here, I have absolutely loved. The food here is always consistent and never misses. My absolute favorites that I will steadily return for would be the octopus, the lamb riblets, the fish and pretty much all of the desserts but most especially the Kunefe. Every time I have come back (which is an embarrassing amount), I am still excited by the food and flavors that come out of the kitchen. This is the spot where I take everyone I love and they too have found that this is one of the best places to have a cozy, comforting and delicious meal. If you're looking for something incredible, flavorful, and consistent, look no further than Kokkari.
