We stopped by this place for a quick bite before going to a showing at the Roxie Theatre across the street. It's right in the heart of the Mission so the location was prime. The place had nice wallpaper decorations on the wall and they were playing top 40 pop music with a zen remix twist, which was nice but a little distracting at times. The service was very quick and efficient. We absolutely loved the chicken gyoza! The garlic edamame was flavorful but quite salty. The chicken ramen had chunks of chicken, which I was not used to but the chicken was juicy and flavorful. The noodles were a good thickness and texture. The spicy sauce was more mild than I expected. Overall it was good, but definitely more salty than I'd like.

They are often closed during their hours. I try to call, the phone is disconnected. I've tried this place multiple times. Open 2/4 times ive gone. It's too bad because there's not really any other ramen restaurants in the area. I wanted to like this place. The ramen is alright, but there is not much selection on the menu for being called a ramen bar. If you want anything past the broth, pork and noodles it will cost you extra. Its already $16. A sprinkle of green onion for $1 is a bit steep. Egg for $2.5. It adds up quickly. These things are typically just included most restaurants. I love ramen THAT much that I would still come here because I am local...but they have to be open during their hours for me to!

Believe it or not, this wasn't my first time at a Japanese-Mongolian restaurant. There was one called Eurasia at a strip mall on San Pablo Avenue in Richmond. It was pretty good, but it closed and turned into a straight-up Mongolian dumpling house. Mind you, they weren't offering a fusion menu. There were Japanese dishes separate from the Mongolian ones, and such was the case here. In fact, there's no mention of the Mongolian specialties on their website. Out of curiosity, I dropped by for a light dinner.I stuck with a few Japanese items. First up was the $11.95 Vegetable Tempura, a lightly crisped combination of sweet potato, broccoli florets, mushrooms, zucchini slices, and onion rings (photo: https://yelp.to/gy3oDR0TB1). This was followed by the $9.95 Steamed Chicken Gyoza, a half dozen dumplings with just the right consistency (photo: https://yelp.to/yG4_zizFqH). I left room for dessert and ordered the $6.25 Strawberry Mochi Ice Cream, just two mochi but just enough to end my meal (photo: https://yelp.to/WlVYvbGA47).FOOD - 4 stars...I can vouch for the Japanese side of the menu...good stuffAMBIANCE - 4 stars...fairly serene for 16th StreetSERVICE - 4 stars..,cordial and timely TOTAL - 4 stars...gotta try the Mongolian side next timeRELATED - Exploring the Mission? Relatively new place. First trying it. Service was great. Kind greetings, attentive, patient and polite. They have a happy hour where you can get chicken teriyaki and soups for $10! And a drink special! My coworker and I went with our daughters and the kids loved their tempura and chicken ramen. Next time we will probably come back without the kids.Get it!

I went here a few minutes after they opened, for lunch. I was seated shortly afterwards. Ordered tonkatsu Ramen with extra chicken. Thank you for the chicken not being grilled or fried and the pieces were pretty big. The broth was somewhat creamy (which I didn't mind at all) but not too heavy at the same time. Very flavorful bowl of ramen and a good balance and amount of noodles and meat. They had a TV with sports on and music as background music.

How can a place be so bad? Let me tell you the ways of how badly they failed. I walked in here into a nice little ramen shop with a bar for lunch, but was immediately disappointed. When I got there, there were no other customers and it took literally ten minutes for someone to notice I was there, and probably would have waited longer if I didn't make noise to let them know I was there. That should have been the biggest indicator for me to leave and go somewhere else, but I wanted to give them a chance especially since I was in time for heir happy hour for $10 for any Ramen or Udon.Once I ordered the Black Garlic Ramen and Huushuur, the food thankfully came quickly, but that was probably the only good thing about this place besides the Ramen. The Black Garlic Ramen was actually not bad. It wasn't the best I ever had. But it thankfully wasn't horrible. The Black Garlic Broth had a decent taste and was creamy, but that was it.As for the Huushuur. I was glad that the Fried Beef Dumplings were big because of the price I paid, but that is it. They were really mediocre and lacked flavor. As for service, it just kept getting worse from then on. Once, the server dropped off my food it is like she completely ignored my existence or forgot I was there. She didn't offer to refill my water any of the times she passed by or when she dropped off my food. So, I had an empty cup of water for most of my meal. Once I finished the Ramen, I was just sitting there for a good 15min just waiting for the server to remember my existence and check on me, but no, she kept on passing me and was too busy on her phone when there was no one there the whole time besides me. When the server finally remembered my existence and checked on me, I complained about the flavor of the Huushuur not being up to par, but the server just gave excuses, explaining that it is popular and how they make the whole plate in house by hand before finally offering me some more water instead of apologizing for terrible food and service or offering to take the expensively horrible food off my check. At that point, I was just done taking all of this crap and wanted out of there. I am a person who usually tips the typical amount on the bill, but after that experience and my $34.71 bill I was handed, I gave $35 in total.Overall, never would I ever come back to this place again. I like supporting Asian-owned and woman-owned businesses, but this place was just too bad to give a good review with such terrible service.

Karaoke is fun here. Thursday night was not busy at all. Almost had the entire place to ourselves (just 4 others). About $16 for the Tonkatsu Ramen price is pretty unfair though because the ramen portion is small and only comes with broth, pork, and green onions. All toppings are extra. As simple as the ramen was, I did love the egg noodles and the broth did actually taste really good. Service was nice. I also like the art one the walls.

Review is for their Tonkatsu ramen to go.First off, it's less than $20, but you get what you pay for. $13 without tip or tax.Small place in the mission. Skip this, the flavor was like a cup of noodles ramen. Watery broth.

Had high hopes for this place based on all the Google reviews being 5 stars. But unfortunately I'd say the food is honestly not that good.Food: We ordered the chicken katsu curry and the Mongolian noodle dish. First off, there was no curry in the chicken katsu curry dish despite there being a picture of a bowl of curry on the menu. Chicken was only flavored with a droplet of sauce at most and mostly tasted like unseasoned breaded chicken. The Mongolian noodle dish could best be described as pure boiled noodles. The bits of beef in the dish were so small you could barely tell they were in there. Noodles were not flavored at all with seasoning or sauce.Service: Service was ok. There was 1 server for the entire place and she was hard to flag down because she was always running to the back of the kitchen. Ambiance: Probably the best part about the restaurant was the space. It looks very clean and new and would be a decent spot to get drinks with friends. Overall, this spot is ok. Unless the food gets a revamp, I can't really see myself recommending it to anyone (especially since there are much better and cheaper Asian food options just a short walk away)

My favorite place in the city for Mongolian Food! Try the Mongolian Dumpling Soup, which has a heart beefy flavor with succulent dumplings and little strips of beef. Perfect for a rainy day.The ambience is warm, muted greys and earthtones, and lounge-like with chill out music and TVs on but now too loud. Not too crowded. Good date night spot to try something new!
