Jasper's Corner Tap and Kitchen

First off, peace to the Hilton workers on strike across the way. Jaspers has great soundproofing, so while I could hear the union message, I support it. Ran in here while our room at a nearby hotel was being readied, and I will say that our drinks were heavy pours and the parm fries were hot and tasty. Pretty decent spot.

This place was pretty dead on Memorial Day, despite several other similar spots around Union Square being closed on Mondays. Wife and myself walked in and took seats at the bar, checking out the tap list before food. For a spot that has a "tap" in their name, their craft beer selection leaves something to be desired. The server let us try several beers but eventually we settled on Henhouse's Stoked pale ale. Not bad, but again in this day and age feels like they should do better.As for the food, it's mostly typical pub fare. We made a mistake on ordering truffle fries for the appetizer, not knowing that it's about a pound of fries. They were very salty but the beer helped soak up all the sodium. Before ordering fries be aware that the side of fries is also huge so might make sense to go for a different option with your main course . We all ordered another appetizer, shishitos, and aforementioned smash burger to split for the main. The burger was two patties 1/4 lbs and tasty. Not the best, but far from the worst. The prices are what you'd expect in San Fran downtown and the location is close to all places of interest around Union Square. Service was solid, though it seemed that everyone was having a slow day.I don't think Jasper's will be my no 1 when in this part of the City, but if nothing else is convenient, I might stop by for a beer and truffle fries. Those are definitely the best value!

I was on my way to Trap Karaoke at August Hall and had a little time to spare so I decided to grab a cocktail at Jaspers.The ambiance was nice and having the Warriors vs. Lakers game displayed in all areas of the restaurant was a plus! The customer service was good and my food was presented promptly.The food tasted decent. I only had the whiskey ribs and deviled eggs. The ribs were a little dry but okay overall.See pics as a reference.

Jasper's has good beer but the service just grinds the spirit right out of you. I very rarely tip under 15%, but this was 10%.That still made for a decent tip because the prices are so high (and it seems like the servers are, too). For example, they offer a $23 hamburger that takes an hour to come out and is overcooked. They also offer a $6 deviled egg appetizer that took 30 minutes to come out...but was so good that it is worth a star on its own, and I confess I might come back for. Holy hell that was good.

Yikes. We came to visit and we were staying at the hotel where this place was located so we decided to give it a go. I ordered Calamari and the pretzel. My calamari was received cold, and my pretzel was "hard like a wood" as we heard one of the workers say. Lol. Too bad you can't hear the loud noise it is making in my video. I decided to give them a chance by having them bring me both items remade. 2nd time around was better. Calamari was fresh, and my pretzel was soft. My friend ordered the cheeseburger and it was pretty good. Oh the blood orange beer was amazing too.

We went to Jasper's Corner Tap and Kitchen for lunch. It is a sports bar vibe that serves mainly sandwiches and burgers. We had their pretzel with artichoke dip, beets burrata and the J burger. The pretzel was quite tough and it seemed reheated not freshly made. The beets burrata was also quite standard. The J burger was good, the blue cheese adds flavor and is an interesting combination with the meat. The service was friendly but could of probably been slightly more attentive.

Stopped in for lunch. Server was average. Cute inside with a few TVs. I had the avocado and chicken Cobb salad and it was good. Unsweetened tea seemed like it had a peach flavor. You can sit by the window and people watch.

Great service. Not pushy just a good vibe. Visiting the city for a few days and decided to try out Jaspers, across from hotel. Having eaten fish and chips around the world, I tried the plate at jaspers. It is in the top two fish and chips I have had in my 58 year eating around the world. #highly recommend. I will be back this week.

It's a really nice "New American" food/ Sports Bar. A good selection of beers on tap, and tasty, well prepared food. It's just far enough away from Union Square to escape the tourist, and have a nice drink and a decent meal. I was here a few times years ago, and I am happy they are still here, with a new menu, when I finally had a chance to come back.

We were a group of 3 that went in for lunch earlier this Sunday. Two of us ordered the ribeye and the other ordered the wings. Good: Nice and big locationCons: I ordered the ribeye with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies listed for $28. I requested it to be cooked "medium," and what I received was an overcooked strip steak accompanied by instant mashed potatoes and broccoli. Oh, times that by 2 since the other person in my party was served a "duped" ribeye as well. Guess what? Back mine went! I'm no chef but I can definitely tell between a lean strip and ribeye. The nerve of this establishment to try and get over!I wouldn't recommend this place for food. As for drinks, I didn't even bother since they were such a disappointment.
