I bought their 3 sliders deal for $12. 1 each of brisket, pulled pork, and hot links. It was really yummy! I'm glad to find this BBQ truck at Sparks Social. SF needs more yummy BBQ food and glad to support this establishment!

Pretty solid BBQ for mission bay. Will definitely keep an eye on the Spark Social roster for the next time they are there. Collard greens are solid, Mac is bomb, are portion sizes are worth the price.

Lady #1: "I love your dress!"Lady #2: "Why, thank you!"Lady #1: "Do you have Dodger's underwear on under that dress?"Lady #2" "Ummm, no..."Lady #1: "PROVE IT!"Hmmm, IDK if Lady #1 wanted to see Lady #2's butt floss OR to see if she was going commando but are ALL Dodgers fans this cray cray? On the day I visited Spark Social, it was HELLA packed with Dodgers fans who were all pumped up before the game...only to lose to the Giants. Whoomp whoomp. Anyhow, I've been craving ribs and saw J&D's BBQ Truck so gave them a try. M E N U* BBQ Plates w/ 2 sides: Chicken ($16), Hot Links ($17), Ribs ($20) Brisket ($22), 2 Meats ($24), and 3 Meats ($27).* Sides: Baked Beans (ground turkey), Collard Greens (turkey), Coleslaw, Mac 'N Cheese, or Potato Salad.F O O D* Rib Plate w/ collard greens, coleslaw ($20): https://bit.ly/3zZFBnjSadly, I think I visited on an off day. The 3 piece pork ribs were tough and dry, like bone-in jerky. I had to use my hands to pull the meat off the bones. Flavor-wise, it was one-note: just smoky so we really had to utilize the bbq sauce for flavor. The bbq sauce was on the sweeter side. The collard greens were tender with an earthy bitterness . The coleslaw was very plain; just shredded cabbage and mayo. The Hawaiian roll was fresh and fluffy soft.S E R V I C ESeems to be a family operation; cordial and prompt. With no line at lunchtime, my order was ready in several minutes. A M B I A N C EFood truck. I believe J&D BBQ makes regular appearances at Spark Social which is a great food truck park with plenty of outdoor seating. Perfect place to bring the kids and dogs. P A R K I N GWhen/if stationed at Spark Social, street, metered, and lot parking available. Overall, I think I visited J&D BBQ on an off day. If I see their truck again at Spark Social, I would be down to give them another try. Hope to have a better experience next time so I can give a higher rating. 2.5 stars rounded up for a small local business.

I've been on the hunt for the best BBQ spot and when one of my friends kept posting about J & D's BBQ, I had to check them out.We found them at Spark Social in SF and after my first bite I knew that I may have found the Bay's best BBQ. I ordered the chicken, it was honestly the best, I'm talking juicy fallin off the bone tender. The BBQ sauce was just FANTASTIC! I literally licked my fingers and sopped up as much sauce as I could with the roll I didn't need to eat The sides were excellent, since I had to have a cheat meal, may as well have Mac-n-cheese. Delicious! My son had the ribs, with baked beans and Mac-n-cheese. He loved every bite, ate the entire meal and raved about the food as well. The service was excellent and the vibe was great! We left J & D's at Spark Social happy with full bellies.I will definitely be back!

Having just spent a month in Texas, I was craving from BBQ from a food truck. Wasn't quite like what I had in Texas, but we don't exactly have many options in San Francisco anyway. Felt a little pricey at $30 (all-in) for a 3 meat plate, but that's San Francisco too. It's a nice departure from yet another taco/burrito truck, so I can appreciate working BBQ into the lunch rotation.Tri-Tip: It's not brisket, but it's decent. Kinda like Buckhorn, but with more real smoky flavor. Cut thick and a bit firm, not almost pull apart tender like some BBQ brisket can be. Like you're probably best with a knife to cut this up before dipping in the sauce.Beef Hot Links: Really liked the flavor. A good bit of a spicy kick. Especially nice with a bit of the roll or some beans, both helping balance out the flavor. The texture was a little weird though, more hot dog texture than sausage texture.Pork Ribs: Lots of meat on each rib. Plus they threw in a bunch of rib tips, which I liked more than the ribs. The rib tips were smokier and had more marinated flavor. The regular ribs were not the falling-off-the-bone type of tender, but more like firm Chinese sparerib texture.Baked Beans w/ Ground Turkey: The beans were tender and the sweet sauce was great. But the bits of ground turkey was an odd choice. Didn't impart much extra flavor, unlike when brisket burnt ends or pork is used to liven up the beans.Macaroni N' Cheese: Clumpy. Shells rather than macaroni, which were a bit overcooked. I did like all the melted cheese in it though.

Tried this at spark social in San Francisco and thought it's a bbq kind of Friday with our company. A few of us tried it and absolutely didn't not like the food. Nuke warm. Dry and flavorless. Feels like the food was on a warming trays. I honestly thought it was just me that had a bad experience with this food but everyone else had the same experience. As more of our party saw us and asked us about the food we unfortunately had to recommend anything but the bbq trailer today. This might be a miss day for them. Probably will try a different bbq truck next time. Honestly we were all disappointed in our meals.

I had it once and kept going back! The flavoring is so good. I haven't had good collard greens and so long!!! The chicken was my favorite protein. It has that smoky taste to it that other barbecue spots in the city don't have. Overall very satisfied and will be returning continuously.!!
