Grace & Gusto Cakes and Confections

We did multiple tastings when selecting our wedding cake, and Kathryn was by far the best. In both taste and style, her cakes are in a league of their own. Her tasting box is beautifully presented with a handwritten note and 3 full size cupcakes in your choice of flavors/buttercreams. We also had a tasting in her studio where she offered sparkling water or champagne and spent a delightful hour looking at pictures of cakes we had saved and discussing what elements we liked, while she sketched cake designs. Her cakes are moist with excellent flavor and a superb crumb. I cannot recommend her cake highly enough!

My 9 year old daughter wanted a Beauty and the Beast inspired cake for her birthday. She had specific ideas about what she wanted the cake to look like. Kathryn delivered and then some! To top it off, it was one of the best cakes we have ever tasted! When she learned my daughter was a "chocoholic" she delivered a moist chocolate cake with chocolate filling and a chocolate ganache icing. Perfection! We will be back for every special occasion.

We hired Kathryn to provide our wedding cake and she really delivered. It was very delicious and beautiful! She was so kind to work with us on our tight schedule. We had approximately six weeks to plan our wedding and she was great in helping us. She provided wonderful suggestions on the cake flavors and style. Our guests all marveled at how beautiful the cake was and delicious to boot!

After sampling Kat's cookies & cake at a friend's birthday party (and seeing her gorgeous designs online), I ordered custom cookies for my son's baptism. Kat designed and delivered just what we wanted - elegant and delicious cookies...not too sweet, with gorgeous decoration that was also tasty. Adults AND children wanted more (I should have ordered double!) As we were having the baptism up in Napa Valley, I had to pick them up the day before and they tasted as fresh on Saturday as if they had just been baked that morning (in case you have an event that you need to travel for, these cookies are a great option) I will definitely use Grace & Gusto again.

I found out about this place through instagram and looked the business up here on yelp only to find 3 reviews. I was apprehensive at first but later saw that someone I knew ordered cookies from here and loved them. I ordered two dozen custom cookies for my daughter's unicorn theme birthday and they turned out so beautiful. The custom cookies are reasonably priced too for the amount of detail and work compared to so many places I was quoted for. They also tasted as good as they looked!

Kathryn is such a talented cake creator!! She designed a cake for our wedding that exceeded our expectations. It was truly beautiful and it tasted amazing. I have to admit that I wasn't a big fan of red velvet cake before I tried hers. She has truly perfected it! The inside was so moist and the frosting was so creamy- i still crave that cake! I will definitely use her again for other events in the future. She was so professional and accommodating that it really took the stress out of the whole process. I am impressed and cannot thank her enough for making our event so special.

Kathryn is AMAZING. I'd seen her gorgeous confections at parties and events, and absolutely fell in love with her style, creativity, and talent. We joked that she was the most underutilized person at the weddning--she makes stunning sculptural and creative cakes, but we just wanted something minimal and chic. (Which, in many ways, is even more difficult, because every detail has to be just perfect--and it was!) She listened to our ideas about style and color, and created the perfect cake. And not only was it beautiful to look at, but it tasted SO GOOD. I had so many guests tell me in the days following the wedding that the cake was the best wedding cake they'd ever had. We had two flavors: almond pound cake with salted caramel frosting, and chocolate cake with bourbon chocolate frosting. It was even all lactose-free, for my lactose intolerant husband. As if that all weren't enough, she also made gorgeous, sparkly meringues so that my mother in law (who has celiac disease) could enjoy a sweet treat along with everyone else. I can not possibly recommend Kathryn highly enough. She was so easy to work with, and exceeded my expectations at every turn.

Catherine exceeded our expectations for two simple wedding cakes for our casual, picnic-style wedding in Golden Gate Park. We didn't take full advantage of her artistic capabilities, but were so pleased at how pretty the cakes were. And the beauty was not frosting deep! Our guests raved about how tasty they were. We ordered one gluten-free cake, a necessity for some of our guests, and it was just as moist and delicious as the gluten-full cake! We still talk about it and can't wait to order our first anniversary cake from Grace & Gusto.Highly recommend!
