Been here several times before and was in C-Town for the New YearsFlower Market where Grant street was closed off to cars for the event.Food: 4 stars with no complaints for what we ordered. The portioning of my ingredients for the BBQ pork vermicelli imperial roll dish which I ordered were just right. Pho dishes that others ordered was great. Broth was not oily after eating and slurping the ingredients which is a good sign.

you pay for convenience. decent food for pricer/more expensive prices. i'll keep it short. QUICK SERVICE. FAST TABLE TURNOVER RATES. LOVE. FOOD COMES OUT IN LIKE MAX 5 min. SPEAKS CANTO N ENGLISH. i recommend their bun bo hue, and imperial rolls but most of the stuff on their menu is good and decent in taste and quantity. (huge emphasis on decent, it's not mindblowing but still tasty enough.)it's just more expensive than most vietnamese places in chinatown because it's just at a good location + fast service + p good food.

What is the best said hangover food? I wouldn't know since I don't hangovers. But I heard, from a little bird, that pho cures all. I took my friend here not just for pho, but to pop his BBH cherry.Pho - huge plus for the oodles and oodles of noodles. Broth, noods, and meat were delicious. BBH - right spice level especially for someone who has never tried this dish and is not asian ( you know chefs gotta tone it down for them, teehee).Overall, best place especially if you're trying to find good authentic pho near FIDI/Soma area. Service was great.

Best pho in the city!! Fast service and kind people. I used to come here often as a kid, and I'm so glad that they're still around.Number 1 - 5/5, comes with everything. Good amount of noodles and meat. I love their beef balls and brisket. Their meat, especially their tendon, is super tender! Their broth just tastes right. Not too salty and doesn't leave an aftertaste.

Came by recently to visit another Chinatown restaurant, but it was closed for vacation. So I walked around looking for another place to eat. Golden Star Vietnamese is open and welcoming when I poked my head in. While their Vietnamese food is okay based on just one dish that I tried, it's sufficient for a quick lunch. Family run and efficient.Located on Walter U Lum Place and Clay St. facing Portsmouth Square.

Authentic Vietnamese food. I will definitely come back in this place. I was craving for a bowl of pho in a cold weather and stumbled upon this amazing restaurant!

After walking so much on the streets of san Francisco, I was craving for a local street food. I heard this restaurant is famous among locals and decided to give it a try. The place was small, clean and had a nice local touch. There were lot of Vietnamese elements throughout the restaurant. The food was exceptional. My friends and I tried Imperial chicken and Bun ga xao sa which is stir fried lemon grass chicken with vermicelli and it was easily one of the best I've had. The chicken was rich and flavourful with just the right amount of seasoning and the fresh ingredients made every bite delightful. The quantity was equally impressive. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, though I couldn't pronounce some of their menu items, there are number listed next to each menu so it was easy to order just by numbers. Overall, Golden star is a fantastic local place to enjoy authentic Vietnamese cuisine in a welcoming setting. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal.
