I would give it a 10/10, but they only gave me the option for 5 stars Green Beans: Fire (if you add chili the oil, it's even better)Sui Mai: Fire Seafood Gyoza : Fire (It feels like you just had a warm hug after you eat it)Vegan Fried Rice: Mid - Overall it was a great experienceThey had the warriors game on too(I had to edit my review because yelp doesn't allow emojis - check out my google review for the full review)

I visited Dumpling Time at Thrive City for a weekday lunch to catch up with a friend I hadn't seen in a while. The restaurant was very quiet and had a classy, relaxed atmosphere. With a view of the outside area, I could imagine that if it were bustling, the ambiance would be even better. We tried a few dishes, and here are my thoughts:Tom Yum: 8 in an order. Flavorful with a bold mix of tangy, spicy, and savory notes. It had a comforting warmth, though it leaned a little on the saltier side.Chili Lamb Dumplings: 6-7 in an order. Juicy and delicious, with a satisfying kick of chili. Not spicy in the convential sense, but had some chili oil crunchiness. I like lamb and thought this was a good pic. Shrimp & Pork Siu Mai: 4 in an order. Classic and well-executed. The dumplings were plump, fresh, and had a good balance of shrimp sweetness and pork savoriness.Typically go for shrimp just because I find that it works well in this format, nothing that crazy or special about the order. Fried Rice: I would pass on this next time. I'm not a typical fried rice/noodle person though. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but more of a "glad I tried it" place rather than a must-return spot. Food isn't anything super stand out, but it is still good. Perfect for a quiet catch-up, but I imagine it would truly shine during busier times with a livelier atmosphere.

I visited this restaurant after a Warrior's Game -- I expected the wait time to be long but there was actually no wait time for us! Despite our excitement, we were disappointed by our experience.**Poor ServiceUpon arrival, it felt like the staff were very cold and not welcoming. As we were being seated and greeted by our host and server, we felt a lack of friendliness. Additionally, our server hardly came to check in on us and didn't seem to say a word anytime they came by to refill water or clear plates. On the plus side, the food was speedily delivered to our table within minutes. **Great AmbianceThe ambiance was also perfect and felt very clean! Great big windows looking out to the streets, train rails, and people passing by. They also had such fun neon lighting throughout!**Mediocre FoodThe food is expensive, includes small portion sizes, and its flavor did not match its prices at all. Honorable mention, their tap water tasted good and crystal clear.Garlicky Green Beans (9/10) had great seasoningPork Gyoza (9/10) had great textureShu Mai and Har Gow (6.9/10) both tasted partially undercooked and not freshly preparedIf you're visiting the Chase Center, save your money and check out a better restaurant nearby.

Came here for a quick lunch to watch the Super Bowl and the place is super cute and spacious. The service was quick. We enjoy the soup dumplings. Definitely recommend the fried chicken wings the spicy ones. The dim sum was good as well. The only thing I'd say was the chicken fried rice isn't as flavorful. Definitely would recommend sticking to the dumplings.

Love their garlicky green beans! A bit disappointed that their menu is pork heavy with few alternatives, but I suppose that's to be expected with dim sum. The service is always great and they're super quick with your orders which makes this spot ideal for a quick lunch break.

I came here with my family and it was a great experience! The food came out super quick, and the service was friendly. The chicken gyoza were absolutely delicious - crispy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the dipping sauce. The BBQ pork bao were soft, fluffy, and packed with flavor. The shrimp garlic noodles were another standout - generous portions of shrimp, and the noodles were cheesy and garlicky, yum! Some more items not pictured included the string beans, cucumber salad, and the shrimp toast - all super delicious and made perfectly. For the amount of food we got, it was pretty affordable. I would recommend coming with a slightly bigger group to be able to try more items on the menu for a good price!

Date: Wednesday, April 26th, 2023Time: around 7pmParty of: 4What: Golden State Warriors Playoffs Watch PartyA friend of mine mentioned he was going to Thrive City to watch a Warriors playoff game. (When away, they had watch parties in the plaza.) He had signed up for the free event and had an extra ticket. (I believe thru Eventbrite?) Luckily, he got here early and grabbed a table on the patio at Dumpling Time! I joined them a lil later.I've been here a few times prior for food and drink and always had a blast. Since we were watching the game and I arrived later, I just drank this time around. It's really fun hanging out and watching the game. It's a great view from the tables outside. And there's always entertainment going on in the plaza.Would definitely recommend if going to a watch party. Make sure to show up early to grab a table outside!REVIEW #3603

My friends and I were in San Francisco to see Jo Koy at the Chase Center and decided on dumplings for dinner since it looked to be the least packed restaurant in that area. Dumpling Time Thrive City is located inside the food court outside of Chase Center. They have you line up outside and they will not seat you unless your entire party is present, but you are allowed to stay in line until it is your turn -- we had to wait for 1 of our friends to join us so we weren't seated right away, but there wasn't a super long wait once she did arrive. We shared the Pork XLB, Chili Pork Dumplings, Crispy Vegetable Spring Rolls, Chicken Gyoza and Edamame and everything was very good! I especially liked the Gyoza - the filling was very fresh and had great flavor. The inside is pretty big, but I remember it being very humid inside which was uncomfortable, but the service was fine, nothing special and the food came out very quickly - we had plenty of time to eat and still make it inside the comedy show with time to spare. Not sure if I would be back next time, but we left full and satisfied!

The garlic noodles are a must when dining here! I would double check if they're open because the hours vary since it's located next to chase center. The chicken gyoza was perfectly crisp and the sauce went well with it, I would definitely order again. I wish they had more non-pork dumpling options but the lobster was very filling, just not as saucy.

My friends and I came here before a concert at the Chase Center. Dumpling Time (the original location) used to be one of my favorite go-to places in the city when I lived in Mission Bay. For how busy the restaurant was, I'm surprised how fast the line moved to get a table. Service was efficient, and we of course ordered family style. My favorites were the Siu Mai and Seafood Gyoza. I could have eaten those forever. The Har Gow, Chili Pork Dumplings, and Pork XLB were just okay. Really did not like the Shrimp Toast or Shrimp Truffle Egg Rolls. The menu is the perfect size, and the cocktails were strong. Would try something else in the area next time for novelty!
