Crave’s Birdhouse

A new chicken sandwich place at SF State? Yes please. Located in the Cesar Chavez Student Center in the central part of the campus, it's on the lower floor of the building.I've been seeing signs outside the building for awhile now, and have heard from others who have tried Crave to give them a try. One time a colleague brought it in with some curly fries on the side, so obviously that means I have to try it now.The pricing for the food here is adequate. With other options on campus that's comparable, they had to make sure that it wasn't too expensive, and they're not.They do also offer vegan options, which I'm sure is a plus for many on campus, at least for a few people I know who would like this option.The online ordering process is fine. They go through snack pass, so if you're new to it it doesn't take long to register through it. There is a service fee of course, but not too bad since it's just for the app usage. There's Apple Pay available but also regular credit card payments accepted. They also do Grub Hub, through seamless but just be aware of the additional price increases as a result.The food here is okay. Nothing out of the ordinary, but also decent. The chicken sandwiches here is the tender style sandwich. Rather than one single piece patty style, it's multiple tenders inside. The sauce here is alright. I got the Korean and ranch sauces. The sandwich was just decent, but I've certainly had better. I actually enjoyed the curly fries more than anything, and they give you a pretty good portion of it for the price so I may just order that next time for the side by itself.Overall, Crave's is not a bad option, especially for students and staff that are on campus. The price is comparable, and perhaps on the cheaper side if you just want the sandwich, and you can also do the combo meals w/curly fries and drink. It's basically all self-order online or through their kiosks in front of the kitchen. There's not much staff there, so when they get busier could be a wait. Food is adequate, but nothing spectacular. Since I work on campus, I'll probably be back again at some point, at the very least, for those curly fries.

Ordered food from the kiosk a couple times here. It's all the way downstairs at sfsu. I have no been disappointed every time I have ordered and my food has been out in a reasonable amount of time. The staff is friendly and was helpful when their kiosk was down. It can get a little busy around lunch time so I prefer taking my food elsewhere. Chicken sandwich is pretty fire !

Located at the Basement Floor of the SFSU Cesar Chavez Center, Craves Birdhouse is a home to burgers! The hamburger I got in particular is their most popular burger it was very delightful, It had just the right amount of crispiness any chicken style hamburger should have, the added Korean BBQ Sauce gave it a Unique Taste that is unforgettable and lingers in your mouth! This could pass off as an Authentic Korean BBQ style Burger if it didn't have burnt buns and I'm from koreatown so I know, haha. Anyways, this meal was absolutely splendid aside from the fries, though they are not bad their's just not much for me to say than I wish it would've had more seasoning. This is called the "Star Lord" and I've got to say it does live up to its name! Definitely recommend Craves Birdhouse in SF!

It's pretty good for food on campus not pricey but tbh the chicken is kinda mid but still slightly enjoyable
