Finally, a French patisserie that genuinely delivers on its promises! Choux on Filmore is a delightful gem that elevates the art of French pastry-making to new heights in San Francisco.Their signature cream puffs live up to the hype - perfectly crisp choux pastry giving way to silky, luscious filling. What sets them apart is their attention to detail, right down to the elegant packaging that makes every purchase feel like you're unwrapping a special gift. The shop is a tiny and fashionable space that perfectly matches the refined nature of their creations. But don't let the chic atmosphere fool you - the service is wonderfully warm and friendly, making every visit a pleasure. While the cream puffs might be their claim to fame, please don't sleep on their other offerings. The meringues are cloudlike perfection, the Financiers are buttery little treasures, and the Brioches strike that perfect balance between light and rich. The Cannelés deserve special mention - their caramelized exterior giving way to a custardy center is divine.Pro tip: Their pastries make impressive gifts, thanks to their beautiful packaging. Just be warned--you might want to buy extras because they're nearly impossible to give away once you've tried them yourself! If you're looking for authentic French pastries that rival those found in Paris, Choux on Filmore is an absolute must-visit. Your taste buds will thank you.

Store is a counter order. Staff is friendly and provided recommendations on the baked goods. All the pastries are on display which is really cute.Hazelnut cream puff: tastes like hazelnut faintly but filling is too acidic. Pass.Raspberry cream puff: really scrump, raspberry filling tastes like real fruit and not artificialVanilla cream puff: cream has a weird curdled consistency... like when you overheat an egg custard and it becomes part scrambled eggs. Could use a lot more vanilla. Meh.Matcha canelé: tbh I just don't like canelé, they're too hard and I don't like the consistency inside. (this is more of a me thing, try the canelé and see if you like!)Maybe I should come back in the morning and see if they taste better fresh. My sister who I ate them with said the pate choux is too thick.

Cute small shop where you order at the window. We got a couple of cream puffs and financiers. Nice presentation that would be great for a gift. A bit expensive but great for pastry lovers.

Very cute hole in the wall bakery! We ordered a couple of choux and canelé to try (lemon and raspberry choux and matcha and regular canelé). The raspberry and lemon choux were so tasty, not too sweet and the punch from the lemon was perfect! Also the canelés are quite a difficult dessert to make but well done with a nice light spongey and chewy texture. I preferred the original over the matcha as it was more classic but both were nice! Service was also fast as the shop was not very busy but just keep in mind there isn't anywhere to sit down.

I've seen this shop a few times when driving by and decided to stop in after having lunch nearby. You order at the door in the front. I got a box where you can choose any X items for a set price and picked up one chocolate cannelé and three choux (chocolate, hazelnut, and taro). The choux were all fairly small, as you can see in the store, with a very thin and soft crust. The fillings had a nice amount of flavor without being too sweet. The cannelé was light, a bit chewy, and moist--almost like a chocolate Vietnamese honeycomb cake, though without as much of the honeycomb texture. Overall, everything was pretty good, but I would have liked a crispier shell, and a bit expensive for what you get as well.

Over the weekend I visited Choux, a charming little grab-and-go spot with a cute storefront. We picked up a selection of choux pastries and a loaf of sweet bread. While the service could have been better--the pastries and bread were definitely worth it. Both were delicious and satisfying!

Choux is a tiny French pastry shop located in the Fillmore area where they sell their popular cream puffs. Unlike the typical pastry shops, you order through a stand and the servers grab the pastries from behind for you. The service is quick and the pastries look amazing for parties. Each cream puff cost almost $4 each and is little. I ordered them for a wedding engagement surprise party and they looked great. I tried both the raspberry and lemon ones. The cream puff fruit flavors are strong but it does not leave me craving for more. They just add a lot of colors and make the dessert table look super fancy. Cream puffs are definitely smaller in person than in pictures. The canele tastes good but Dangelion Chocolate makes it better. Cheese puff is the only savory thing I tried here and it is quite tasty. Overall, I would recommend getting the cream puffs for parties!

These are so cute and so aesthetic, but kinda pricy for the size. It was definitely way smaller than I expected (from looking at the pictures online vs in person). One big bite and it's gone....so if you want to share, make sure you only take tiny bites lol. FYI, there's no where to sit/walk inside the store. You order by the entrance. We got their raspberry, hazelnut, lemon, and salted caramel choux. They were all pretty good. The outer layer was thin and has the perfect crunch. Lotsa cream, so the flavor is pretty obvious.
