Haven't been to this restaurant for many years and recently revisited a few times because I was feeling nostalgic. My late father used to treat me to lunch on occasion and this was one of a few dozen places he liked in Chinatown. This place seemed smaller than I remembered, and more crowded around lunch time. Food is still delicious. Staff is efficient and polite. On a recent visit, I tried the beef chow fun and it was delicious with lots of wok hay. The tomato beef with rice made me cry a bit (in a good way). Food definitely helps bring back memories. This is a humble restaurant serving Chinese American food since 1986, not sure if it's same owner/family, but it's been continuously operating which is rare these days.Located on Clay and Waverly Place.

Got the Fukien style tofu, the wings, and the snow peas. Honestly this place is great and I quite enjoyed it.The wings are so crispy with a very thin coating. Nothing complicated in seasoning as it was basically just salt. The tofu could've been a bit spicier, but it was such a good texture and a beautiful bite when combined with rice and sauce. Snow peas are standard and well done.Definitely would recommend this place and I'd give it 4.5 if I could

Went to Capital Restaurant on a weekday night. I've been looking for salt & pepper chicken wings in Chinatown and think I've finally found the best spot. Service was fast and there were only a few parties inside at night. It seemed great for big groups and small parties alike.Mongolian Beef - excellent flavors, tender beef, stir fried vegetables Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings - their signature dish, light & crispy, juicy, excellent texture, large portionsWould highly recommend ordering their chicken wings along with some other dishes to complement. Will be back to check out more of their food for sure. Check out Capital Restaurant for the best salt & pepper chicken wings in Chinatown!

Love their traditional Cantonese Cuisine. The service was fast and friendly. The ambiance is old and dated, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Great "hole in the wall" type of place that people found out about on Yelp and Google. Everyone come here for the chicken wings.

Came back to Capital for dine-in and this place definitely deserves 5 stars.I came with a friend for lunch Saturday around 12:15 and it was pretty empty, surprisingly. It was full by the time we left though, so I guess the peak lunch time is later here. They have a large menu of dishes, though I wish their lunch menu had prices listed. We were ordering completely blind as far as prices go.We shared the following dishes, and each one was a 5/5 for me:Half order of chicken wings ($8.50) - they're known for their salt and pepper wings. Pretty much every table was ordering them, and I saw a bunch of takeout orders for the wings as well. They're super solid as far as chicken wings go! I'm glad they do half orders as well, which come with 6 wings.Mongolian beef with rice ($11.25 on lunch special menu) - very flavorful, and they're generous with the rice as well. Perfect for two people to split!Fukien style egg tofu ($17.95) - I'm obsessed with egg tofu, so when I saw this dish is popular here, I knew we had to get it. The egg tofu is so soft and comes with a generous amount of squid. The gravy goes perfectly with trice as well!

Came here bc of the rave reviews but I didn't think the food lived up to the hype. But first, I went to check in on Yelp and saw the free drink with entree. Waitress told me they haven't done that in a long time. Why is it still showing up on their Yelp page then? Needless to say, she didn't honor it. I was going to check in regardless but still disappointed it wasn't honored. We ordered the "world famous" chicken wings, egg tofu with spicy meat, and orange chicken for our little guy. I get why people rave about the chicken wings. They come out piping hot and the skin is really crispy...and not to me mention all flats. To me, the seasoning was too salty (on the outside, with the skin) and no flavor/super bland on the inside with just the chicken meat. The egg tofu with spicy meat was good and pretty big portion for two. We had some leftovers. I'd get this again if I ever came back. The orange chicken was just meh. I've had better orange chicken. Our little boy who loves chicken didn't like it either. Wouldn't recommend.

Came on the day before lunar new year and they were PACKED! We waited about 10 minutes and got seated at the counter. Don't expect to have that much space between other people or fantastic service but they get the job done. We ordered the famous chicken wings (5/5), beef and broccoli lo mein (4/5), and sweet and sour chicken (4/5). I'm knocking the star down to a 4 given some of the average dishes and that it took us awhile to get our food.
