"Friendly staff and clean! But let's talk about the real star here: the dumplings. The menu offers a great variety, and every single dumpling I tried was perfection. Got the steamed mushroom and fish & zucchini and egg dumplings, and the chive pancake was deliciously shaped like a hot pocket. My order arrived quickly and steaming hot.I'm surprised this place doesn't have more ratings!"

"I was hungry and the food was delicious. Esp after a long day of fishing at Pacifica Pier. Something close and fast for Pacifica yeah 4 stars"
"I ordered from Wha Da Pho for the first time in Grubhub based on a couple of reviews I read about their Pho. Someone said "possibly the best pho I've ever had". While it's good, I don't know where that rave comes from. Very salty! It's decent but I'm certainly not raving. 31/2 stars. Delivery was on time"
"Has automatic 18% tip. Too expensive. Food looks good and taste so so. Food comes very quick. Nice environment. Wok fried dish is better. Would not recommend noodles."
"I live an hour away, but whenever we make it out to this side of the bay, this is the place we head to for an awesome meal. My lips pucker at just the anticipation for their Special Sweet and Sour Pork (#3 on the menu) . My guy loves their eggplant with garlic sauce (#24, I think). And since we're going all out, we have to round out the meal with not just regular rice but Yangchow fried rice. The Special Sweet and Sour pork is not your typical ruby red dyed sweet and sour pork with pineapple at other Chinese restaurants. This is a Special one from the northern region of China. It's more sour with thin shavings of green onion and ginger that heightens the flavor. And the pork is pounded thin like a schnitzel, but is coated with a mochi batter. So, it's chewy, crunchy, sour and a bit sweet. It's my favorite dish here. And while we waited for ours to come out (be patient, deliciousness does take time), almost every table had it on their table as well. So, the numbers represent! When she finally brought out ours, she held 3 exact dishes in her arms! Popular is an understatement. Ordering it to go would lose some of the crisp and crunch, so come here and eat it. The Eggplant with garlic is nicely deep fried with crisp edges and soft middle. I love the addition of the crunchy wood ear mushroom and carrots. Got all the textures covered. There's a chili plant next to it on the menu, but it's really not spicy. Don't be scared. The fried rice always hits, and they don't skimp on the large shrimp. It's my favorite restaurant on this side of the bay. I was gatekeeping because sometimes it's hard to get a seat, but this is too yummy to not share how much I look forward to eating here."
"Trying it for the first time very good. Will definitely order again. My favorite is sweet and sour fish and the chicken fried rice was good. Soy sauce chow mein was ok a little dry but flavorful. Fried tofu with veggies was very good. I will for sure comeback next time especially how I liked the sweet sour fish big pieces."
"Amazing lunch! Great portions ! Great value! Delicious! Service is quick and professional! Best in area!"
"When I'm in Burlingame Happy Chef is my go to when my family is craving Chinese food. I had their salt & pepper shrimp, chow mein, walnut shrimp, mixed vegetables, & egg plant with Garlic sauce. Everything was delicious and it did not disappoint. The fish was very tasty and crispy. The egg plant was cooked perfectly. Their vegetable deluxe is a must order. The vegetable deluxe is mixed vegetables, they cook it just right...... it's tasty and the veggies still have their crispy texture. If you don't know what to order they have photos of their dishes on the wall. I hope to visit again. My family enjoyed their dinner."
"I came here for the first time after my normal go to Chinese restaurant wouldn't even pretend to accommodate my order whatsoever. I was driving down el Camino and remembered there was always a Chinese restaurant in this location. There were three people working there in the front and they were not only nice people but all seemed like genuinely good people. I've never had their type of Chinese food before so I ordered somethings more commonly known. The prices were good for the portion size for what I ordered. Somethings are cheaper than other nearby restaurants while some are more. I was satisfied with the quality and flavors of the food that we bought. The way they took care of me, I'll be back to support them and to try more of their food. I hope this place stays in business for a long time to come. Thank you so much for your patience and kindness!"
"Omg. Let me just say the chicken pho is THE BEST pho ive EVER tasted in all my pho-cking life lol! The flavor is perfect not salty, not bland, not over powering in STAR ANISE. This so well balanced! I grew up on 24th street and this is the first time ive seen and heard about this place. The only thing, no music when I went and it was so quiet i felt like i was in the library lol. I will definitivamente be back for more pho! I moved to EPA but i will drive out here when I have a pho craving!"
"Dumpling Story is as popular as it is for a reason! The sister restaurant to Dumpling Home, this place is on Fillmore and located closer to our neighborhood so we visit here more frequently now. The dumplings are always sooo delicious, and I understand why there's often a line or wait to get a table. I came on a rainy Saturday around 2pm and once we arrived and joined the waitlist it was about a 20 minute wait for a table for 3. I wish they allowed joining the Yelp waitlist remotely so you could do it in your way to the restaurant and not have to wait as long once you arrive. We got Jasmine tea, then split some dumplings and other dishes. Their soup dumplings are absolutely the best menu item, we almost ordered another round of them at the end of our meal. Everything else I've tried here is delicious too: green beans, brussel sprouts, pork buns (although I wish these had been BBQ), Dan Dan noodles. But the dumplings are really the star of the show. The service was friendly and checked up on us frequently. The food also came out quickly and we could tell everything had been freshly cooked. We love this spot and definitely will return!"

My friends and I were so impressed with Fuwa Dumpling! Service was fairly quick and the space was really well decorated and clean. Recs: Boiled Dumplings, Chicken WingsPrice: ~$20/person- Chicken and Corn Dumplings: So sizeable with the perfect texture. Tasted incredible with chili oil and soy sauce.- Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings: Came out piping hot, super moist on the inside and well-seasoned and crispy on the outside. A bit pricey for the size but honestly cooked to perfection. - Beef Noodle Soup: A huge bowl for what we paid! Noodles had the perfect texture, and while the soup was just a little more on the salty side, we cleared the entire thing.LOL the fact that I only have one photo after this meal is proof of how hungry I was and how good the dishes were. I could see myself coming back here to get a boiled dumpling spread. This place really deserves its good rating!

My grandmother in at the hospital so we were looking for a place to eat and we came across this spot on Yelp and it was delicious. All the options we got were good, the amount was good for 2 meals and it was fast. Anyone who is at Stanford with a loved one take a break and come eat here it's soo good.

Neighborhood Chinese restaurant, quite reasonable food. I tried a chicken-beef-shrimp combo dish that came in a light sauce with lots of onions. Plain but tasty, and not skimpy on the ingredients.Requires walking up several steps to get inside, so the mobility-challenged need to be cautious unless there's a back way in.

place is small and service is more of a self service and you can order on the kiosk or on your phone if you're seated. I got the Bun bo hue, which was decent. It's not as spicy as when I normally expect. The broth was also slightly different than what I'm used to though. But it seems that every place makes their broth slightly different for bun bo hue. Portion sizes are large. And plenty of meat. The only thing I found relatively strange was that there wasn't a side of cabbage. The bean sprouts and mint was already added into our soup beforehand too.We also tried the pan fried dumplings, Shiu mai, and XLB. All were standard. staff was friendly and services quick.

Yes it's good Chinese. We got Smork with smoked tofu, Winter melon soup, Green onion pancake and Deep fried pork intestines. I liked how smokey the smork was. Pretty solid place in peninsula. Inside was clean and service was fast. If you dine in the tip was included. Parking on street in front.

Since I found out the owner came from the same province in China as I do, this restaurant held a special place in my heart. It's my hometown cuisine even though with some limited options. I have stopped by a few times as well as ordering takeouts for their menu or deli windows. The food reminds me of home. I took off one star because the dishes can be improved a little bit, specifically, a bit more cucumber and cilantro in the mung bean salad, a bit more sauce to their sweet sour pork and eggplant potato peppers would be better. The service and ambiance are all spot on! Update 04/19/2024 they have homemade blood sausage now lovely surprise just made my Friday. The sweet sour pork is improved as well! Bean curd with peppers could use a bit more sauce. I also wish that they have used a bit more sour picked cabbages as well in the hotpot.

This has no right being this good..... but it is.It's a hole in the wall Chinese place, and I thought the reviews were overstating it.... Nope this stuff is the real deal.Honestly one of the best things I've had in the bay, and I'd say the pork spare ribs can hold their own when compared to San Tung's wings. The wings win, but not by much. The serving portions are extremely healthy, and great value. I'm a big guy with a huge appetite and I could stretch this into 4 meals (main container not pictured, this is about 40% of the entree on my plate) or 2 meals if I'm really hungry. The pork spare ribs were crispy and perfectly sweet and salty. The owners were nice and I might have just found my go to spot if I need food in a pinch.

334 Broadway AveMillbrae, CA 94030"Lai Lai Restaurant" is an award winning chinese restaurant that offers delicious Mandarin cuisine. Opened in 1983, it is Millbrae's oldest chinese restaurant. I have eaten at this place three times, and it's time to award it 5-stars for food, service, and generous portions. My first visit, I didn't know what to expect. The tables had white tablecloths, and the wait staff were neatly dressed. I ordered Wor Won Ton Soup (full order), Eggrolls, and Salt & Pepper Shrimp. OMG, they brought out a huge bowl of Won Ton Soup big enough to feed 3-4 people. Maybe 9 dumplings, shrimps, meat, and spinach. The Eggrolls were freshly made, not frozen. The Salt & Pepper Shrimp were breaded and deep fried. Served with peppers, onions, salt and pepper, they needed to be mixed a bit. I asked for hot oil, chili sauce, and vinegar. So the Salt & Pepper Shrimp weren't spicy enough, but were crispy and a little crunchy. My second visit, I ordered Mongolian Beef, Corn and Chicken Soup (1/2 order), and side of White Rice. While I was enjoying my corn soup, I could hear the chef beating the beef tender in the kitchen. The Mongolian Beef was thinly sliced and tender. Beautifully presented with a blend of carrots, green onions, and white onions. The dish wasn't super spicy, but it wasn't salty either. Very good, a 5-star dish.I'm 2nd Generation ABC, and I had a Grandmother from the old country. She used to sit at the table and preach about cooking good food. She said the true test of a restaurant is how well they cook fish. So, on my 3rd visit, I ordered Ginger Fish, Hot n' Sour Soup, and a side of white rice. It was about 5pm on Christmas Eve, and the place was busy. People waiting for a table, people waiting for takeout, and delivery drivers waiting for orders. The wait staff still took the time to check every table. This place has good attentive service. How was the food? The Hot & Sour had that "made from scratch" taste. It wasn't powdery or have any spicy after taste. The Ginger Fish was cooked perfectly. Whole pieces of fish, silky smooth, tender and easy to eat. Presented with green onions, ginger and bamboo shoots. Another 5-star meal. This place opened in 1983, and the interior decor is a little outdated. But they makeup for it with white tablecloths, nice dishware, well dressed wait staff and good service. Also, there's a collection of model jetliners. MISC Notes: -You have to ask for chopsticks. -Men's room is large-street parking Overall a 5-star dine-in experience. If I'm in the area, I'll probably return and try something else.

"I've been trying to find some really good Chinese food and my search is over. There are many in the area to try but this one is at the top of my list. The location is easy to find with plenty of parking nearby. The prices are about average for the amount of food served. There is inside seating with large tables for families. The food is not only plated nice but the flavor is what won me over. Fresh vegetables and cooked to perfection. Friendly staff and the food was served hot off the stove with little wait time. They have a good amount of to-go orders but that didn't seem to slow them down. Give them a try for authentic Chinese food."
"Sorry, couldn't take pictures of food as it leaked in way home. But, very grateful it all stayed in the bag and didn't explode. Also, food was still hot after 1.2 mile walk, so was hot and fresh when taken.I have an allium (i.e. onion) allergy, and I really have to thank this place as they made all the food fresh for me without onions. This is the main reason for five stars as soooooooooo many places ignore my allergy or forget. The food tasted good, ingot fish, ribs, and soup. The won ton soup was my far my favorite. It had shrimp in the won tons! Also they were nice and fat.I will be coming again."
"I don't know how many times I've passed by this place over the years. I don't even know how long it's been here, but I'm guessing it's been here a while and gotta give 'em credit for their persistence and existence. But I do l know that I've been here....and I don't remember much about it. Let me explain: I do recall that I was in the area for a Doctor's appointment and maybe decided that it was time to give 'em a try. Service was friendly and nice as I was promptly seated upon entering. The place wasn't too busy and when I was handed the menu, I guess I ordered from their lunch special and chose the Beef and Chinese Broccoli over Fried Rice and Salt & Pepper Fried Tofu to start. I don't remember how they tasted. I mean, I know how each ingredient should taste like, but I don't remember enjoying them. Maybe I was in auto-pilot mode as I was eating, or maybe I was preoccupied of thinking about something that day. Was I satisfied, or was it an act of providing necessary sustenance during the course of another day? As I sat there on the table, I looked around and noticed the place looked dated. Like 80's style decorations but lacked nostalgic feeling. Then I thought to myself...why are there so many Chinese restaurants named Andy's. And who the heck is Andy. Andy, you've got some explaining to do.Andy: "I don't remember.""
"$20 for a big tray of noodles or fried rice. I'm in. No one leaves hungry. Great place for those on a budget! My Hawaiian friend says this place is better than LNL and I agree! It not only has Hawaiian BBQ plate lunch, it also has Chinese classics: orange chicken, Peking ribs, stir fried eggplant, etc etc. I just wouldn't eat in the restaurant itself. There is a bathroom in case you are wondering, but I would definitely order to-go!I also highly suggest them for catering/party orders! Very reasonably priced!"
"I have been coming here since I was a little girl. Started off at the other location. Was so happy when they moved to this location, which was literally around the corner from where I lived. The owner knew of my family since we would frequent this place, especially after church. She would always ask about my brother, which I think is so thoughtful.I love, love, loooooveee their chicken fried rice. I would always get it as a kid, and will continue to order it. It has always been so flavorful, huge chunks of chicken which I've never experienced elsewhere.I love their beef & broccoli.Took my husband here for the first time since he's been in California, and he loves their sesame chicken."
"I really haven't hit the Chinese Food here. I walk in, I take a look, and I just don't think it looks that tasty. It's cheap. But hey, we're on Nob Hill. That said - I haven't tried it. I'm not sure, it may be really tasty. Why I come here is that they have breakfast food in the morning. It is cheap, and it is right up the street. When I want to grab some take-out eggs, meat, (McDonald's-style) hash brown, and toast to bring back home on a "recovery-oriented" Saturday or Sunday morning I come here. $5 gets you all of the above - with both sausage and a big slice of ham. Are these types of food welcome on a "recovery-oriented" morning? Yes. Yes they are.Wake up, drop off dry-cleaning, grab a newspaper. Drop by Inga Donut, get some breakfast for $5. Eat breakfast in bed, read the newspaper, realize that all of my Minnesota sports teams suck, fall back asleep for a few hours. Wake-up again ready to face the world. All up the block, and cheap."
"We were needing food nearby after we had run some errands. We felt like getting a bun and so we went to New Pho Saigon. When ordering it was nice that they confirmed we were going to "NEW" Pho Saigon as there is a Pho Saigon very nearby.Parking was relatively easy and we found a spot in front of the place. It was quick to get the food as we called in before picking up.We got #85. Bún Tôm Thịt Nướng Chả Giò / 燒蝦豬肉炸春捲檬 / Marinated Shrimp, Grilled Pork, Egg Roll with Vermicelli. I was assuming that the grilled pork would be lemongrass flavored but I don't think it was. It looked more red than your usual grilled pork which kind of remined me of tocino which is a marinated pork in filipino cuisine.Everything was fairly standard but unfortunately something in the dish made me a bit nauseated which was a bummer. No fault to the place as I have a few food intolerances and it's always a gamble when eating.Overall, I think it was okay. Service was good in terms of ordering and pick up. Food was okay. So I think for now "okay" is a good way to describe this spot. I'll have to try more from the menu and re-review in the future. Definitely take a look and try them out for yourself!"
"AMAZING food. I'm very particular about pho and this was great. I got the vegetarian pho and the sauces they unique to mix it really added so much flavor. The egg rolls are also great!!The service is great. They're very attentive, quick and nice. Overall great vibe, service, and food. I'd definitely recommend if you haven't tried it yet."
"Kids (2yr and 4yr) love the food here. Food come up super quick, super important for us, eating with kids. Plenty of utensils on table (omg, kids dropping spoons and forks!) Such a good place for us."
"I hadn't been here since I was a kid doing yum cha with my family and it's funny to see all my friend's comments about how bad their experiences once were. However, I have to say that for my friend's wedding recently, they were the absolute best in providing an amazing banquet experience. The venue was large to fit nearly 300 guests with a small area for photos and an entire dance floor. Everyone was gathering around for photos with the couple and the staff were very accommodating for all of our needs. As a vegan, I usually get a major short end of the stick when it comes to Chinese restaurants and banquet meals, but I was shocked to have 6 different dishes served to me which was more than I expected. Everything was pretty good too - definitely a lot more inventive than at other Chinese banquets I've attended in recent years. Love the use of tofu and mushrooms to really amp up my offerings.Staff were also extremely friendly and would shoot the s--- with us especially when it came to requests for more water or making space in order for the wine glasses to start getting poured. They took real good care of us, serving my friends individually depending on their dish in the massive ten-course seafood meal.Cheers to the newlyweds and thanks Mayflower for hosting an incredible wedding banquet."
"Came all the way from the east bay to come here and it did not disappoint. The service was phenomenal!! Our waiter was very attentive and helpful when ordering. Salt and pepper fish 10/10Eggplant 10/10Chow Fun 10/10The food was hot and flavorful and the ambience was very nice. Will definitely be coming back."
"Decided to try this place because the bf said he's had them deliver to his house and he liked their food. I on the other hand, was not impressed. I had chicken and tofu with fried rice. The sauce was too garlicky and I didn't like it. The only thing I liked about this place was the good service."
"Why am I just finding this place? I had a delicious lunch. Great service, excellent prices and plenty of choices. Watched the nice person make my lunch from scratch. Huge dining area. Had a wave of nostalgia as I walked in. South China cafe in the Castro, Mariposa cafe in Dogpatch and so many others that have slowly disappeared but Wok-in is still here. I will be back. I look forward to the breakfast and lunch buffets."
"Great food, and the servers are so friendly. I highly recommend this place, and I will definitely come back."
"Amazing food, drinks and customer service!! This was our first time visiting, we went in around 12:45 for lunch and there was not many people there ( I'm assuming they had just opened), but we were greeted and immediately seated. We ordered some delicious drinks, the duck noodles among many other items. Everything tasted amazing, we were so in the moment we forgot to take pictures of the food! I will say one of my favorites and must try is their prawn toast"
"465 Broadway AveMillbrae, CA 94030Gourmet Village is an old school, family style Chinese restaurant. It has a wide variety of items on it's menu. Prices are fair to pricey for what you get. Table setting is bare to basic. If you need something, you have to ask for it. After visiting family in the hospital, I went to Millbrae's Broadway Ave to grab a meal before heading home. I decided to try Gourmet Village because they have Claypot entrees on their menu. This restaurant is cool because they have booths as well as tables. Server brought tea and a menu. They were busy with a takeout customers, so I had to wait a bit. I ordered:- Braised Chicken Tofu w/ Salted Fish Claypot- Hot 'n Sour Soup, Small- Side of Steamed Rice (equal to 2 bowls) The food was good, the flavors and portion sizes were okay. The Hot 'n Sour Soup for $6.95, could serve 2-3 people. The bowls provided are a bit small. The Chicken Tofu w/ Salted Fish Claypot was perfect for a cool evening. This dish is one my favorite chinese comfort foods. The clay vessel retains the heat, and keeps the food warm for awhile. Maybe Salted Fish Chicken Tofu isn't for everyone, but if you like it.....you love it. I have it over steamed white rice in a small rice bowl. I will definitely return and try other claypots.Total w/out Tip= $25.65"
"This is my go-to place for chinese food take-out. LOVE them! everything is sooo good, I just wish the plates were a little less expensive."
"Not sure why this place only has 3.5 stars. This place is bomb. Came in with a group of 14 and they sat us in the private room. Pretty good spot for some pho and broken rice plate as we came back from Tahoe."
"Haven't been here in so long... I haven't been here since high school and it's still the same! The shop is still run by a middle-aged Asian couple. They're so sweet and nice. The food might not be the best but it is consistently decent. There's not much to complain for what you get and what you pay for.don't get me started with the price. I don't think anywhere else would sell a pound of food for less than $10. If you want to get full and have a decent meal, I recommend giving this spot a try.The store is fairly small so it's better to order take out. Hope this store remains around for many more decades to come."
"Came here as part of the dumpling fest & enjoyed a great selection of their dumplings! All were flavorful and we enjoyed each of them. Great entry for dim sum"
"Rich, flavorful, and reasonably priced Mongolian hot pot. The lamb broth was delicious, and there's a wide array of sauces and spices for everyone to choose their own additions. Nice space (including a giant mural) and people too. Fun setting for family and groups."
"They have really good kung pao chicken! I've only ordered takeout from them, never sat inside. The food is really good, but specifically the kung pao chicken is the best."
"4.5 stars. I used to love coming to this place during college, and I'm glad know it's still here. Located in the food court of the Serramonte Mall, this is a decent place to stop by for a quick bite. Prices have gone up since then, but the portions are still pretty good, enough to fill you up.My favorite dish to get is the filet of sole. The sole is super tender. I usually either get it with all noodles or half and half, just depends on what I'm feeling at the moment. The BBQ short ribs are also a favorite of mine because it's packed with flavor.Service is okay, pretty much what you'd expect for a fast food place. So far I haven't had any problems here.Since it's located in a food court, seating is abundant, though the ambience will vary depending on the day."
