"It's probably been over 30 years since I've set foot in here. It was my 1st time dining here.My office used to be about five blocks away and I remember picking up food with my coworker to bring back. My uncle who works in the neighborhood mentioned that this was a regular lunch spot for him pre-2020.I came here for lunch on a Wednesday in April a little before noon. Dining alone, I chose a counter seat as my waitress offered me the menu and a glass of water. The dining room was 2/3rd full with varying party sizes in the center area. The menu is more extensive than I remember with breakfast items, full meals, and daily specials. I tried the Alpine burger, medium rare, with a cup of clam chowder (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=1jx_vR_fxszRItRl-OWTLg&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q), for an additional $4.50; the Alpine is described as garnished with Swiss Gruyere cheese & truffle oil sauteed mushrooms. chowder (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=L9-WED-J_hrHTA8_GrwwCw&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). burger was a perfect medium rare (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=LeU5Xkt9foBTbTo022Z_Ug&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). At my waitress ' advice and her reminder that it's a half pound burger, I chose to pass on getting a side of fries. Wanting to clean my palate, I added an iced tea (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Vhdtvwjv4tOhTD6dM4WY6w&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q), unsweetened, which she refilled a couple of times. As I ate, I looked around the room, from the open kitchen at the window to the variety of decorations, photos, and artwork. In sitting at my counter seat, I found it humorously ironic in looking at my surroundings. To my right was a cow 'mooning me' (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=PGDt9IBjmKdxiw-A43G0jA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q), to my left a pic of the 3 Stooges above the entrance (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=TnxMVoyKSQEmkmISMxmypQ&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) (the restaurant name is "Mo's" after all), and two cookie jars of a cow and the 3 stooges in front of me (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=No3H84h4bnB_fXtafxGulw&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). Big thanks to Barbara who took my order and guided me in ordering my meal. I was happy to have the right amount of food and not taking anything home. I need to read the menu more carefully for my next visit in maybe trying one of their meal specials."

"Amazing find despite passing it so many times! Such history and ambiance. The staff is friendly and served me my beer and fish -n- chips with a smile! Both were superb, and quite possibly the best fish -n- chips I've had! Went on a Sunday and caught some authentic Irish entertainment as well. Love this "local" place."
"Old school burger and steak joint located near the West Portal Metro Station. Grill located at the front of the restaurant, brick and wood interior with sports memorabilia on the walls. Check out the M-F burger, fries and beer or drink special.Numerous burger and meat items, beef or bison, 1/3 or 1/2 pound burgers, various burger and vegetarian options. Many of the diners are loyal long time customers.Charming restaurant, good service, and good food. Parking can be a challenge - white drop off zone in front."
"On a little getaway trip with our pup we decided to dine at The Barn as they offer all outdoor seating by their restaurant and have an additional "garden patio" area with additional seating. You first walk inside to order and then take your buzzer to the tables and seat yourself. They have blankets to cover the benches in case it's cold and outdoor heaters that can be turned on. We ordered the Barn Burger (classic beef burger), the What the Cluck (fried chicken sandwich - can also be served grilled if you prefer), a side of fries, and the Mac Attack (fried macaroni). The Barn Burger is your classic burger - which was thought was pretty standard. Ingredients tasted fresh and the bun kept everything together. The only downside was that the beef patty was quite small and not to the shape of the bun. At the end we found ourselves with bun + toppings, but no more beef. The What the Cluck is served on ciabatta bread and the arugula is a nice touch. Chicken was fried well and was tender inside. The portion is sizeable as well. However, if you're not a goat cheese fan, you may want to sub out the cheese as it was quite strong and overpowered the sandwich quite a bit.The Mac Attack is a nice side addition. Fried perfectly to a crunchy crisp and velvety cheesy goodness on the inside. It's served with ranch and four pieces is plenty for two people! We were surprised by the portion of a side of fries. You can definitely share between two people as they give plenty.Self serve water outside and you bus your own table when you're done!Overall, love the outdoor dining area and that it is dog friendly. Would return with our pup when in Half Moon Bay!"
"How have I never reviewed this place?LOVEGreat burger and fries in a classic San Francisco hole-in-the-wall. So good.Open late.LIKECounter seating, elbow to elbow with friendly strangers, watching the cook grill up orders."
"This is clearly the best burger joint in the neighborhood and just as clearly my favorite in the city. I love everything about it, but here are some highlights. First and most obvious, the burgers are on-point, flame-broiled on an ingenious swiveling cast-iron grill apparatus, served just a bit on the rare side of medium (love it - so juicy and flavorful), and the condiments/fixins are both free and self-applied. I love this last bit because I hate condiments and mayonnaise above all else, and I am guaranteed not to have this on my burger. Second, their milkshakes are excellent. I'm not talking about fancy (if you want fancy, there's a lovely ice cream parlor across the street), but just of generally high quality. For example, the chocolate shake is exactly what it should be - creamy, good flavor, good texture. And, really, that's the bottom-line of this place: basic stuff done exceptionally well. Third, these folks are fast. If I order on the phone, I barely have time to savor a wee dram of whisky before I need to head over to pick up my food. If there is a downside, it is the fries. They are just okay. But allow me to argue that this is not actually a downside. You don't need the fries. If you think that one of these robust, juicy burgers won't be enough to sate your (perhaps whisky-enhanced) appetite, order another patty on your burger. You'll love it all the more."
"Our neighborhood burger joint! Been around for forever, small business family owned, great quality, speed and service. I love the cowboy burger, and the house sauce is really good! Frye crispy fries you can't go wrong with... come for a burger and fries, seriously! Worth it."
"Ordered the Tom smash. Wasn't what I was expecting but it was definitely delicious! The cheesy tots were good too. It was enough to share but I stuffed myself. I got a draft root beer n it was refreshing. Also ordered a peanut butter milkshake and it was just perfect. I really appreciated the great customer service and plenty of seating insideWould def try this place again"
"One of the best burgers I've ever tried, both vegan and non-vegan. I recommend ordering garlic or sweet potato fries. The salads are large, enough for two people. Highly recommended! :)"
"My parents have been coming here since they were kids and have brought me over the years as well. It's good to see Bill's has retained the same quality and gives you that classic American diner experience without the kitsch. We especially love their milkshakes.I forgot about this place until we were watching a video on youtube about the top 3 burger joints in SF. CLassic Spot love Bills"
"There's a Subway down the street and if you go there instead of Bonne Sante Broadway, do us all a favor and slap yourself. I had the Hottie Sandwich with everything on a soft French roll and it was arguably the best buffalo chicken sandwich I've ever had, and I've had a lot of deli sandwiches in my life (peep my check-in history). The size of the sandwich was intimidating but I put my work in and demolished it, savoring every delicious bite. Don't get me started on their signature sun-dried tomato tapenade, chef's kiss. Definitely a local family friendly vibe and service was helpful and fast. Fortunately, I don't live too far away because I'm definitely going to become a regular!"

The Hidden Spot is definitely a hidden gem in the heart of South San Francisco! The restaurant is technically located within the Hometown Heroes Bar right on Grand Ave. The space itself is pretty small, but deep, and can hold a good amount of people. There is a bar with around a dozen seats. There are three tables across from the bar that can fit four each, and another three tables and additional spots to sit in the back behind the pool table. This is definitely a sports bar vibe, but clean. It's open, well lit, and there is a bunch of cool music-themed art inside. As noted, there is a pool table that is often available, and TV's along the bar and in the back. They have the ability to play different things on different TVs, so it was nice to see some variety when we arrived (baseball, soccer, e-sports). We had asked them to put on the Giants game in the back where we were sitting, and they happily changed it for us. The food is the real reason we came! We had heard about this spot via Yelp, and ordered food for delivery a few times during the pandemic. The food was always good, but never fresh. We finally decided to try it IRL last year to get the full, fresh experience. It was SO good, we had to bring a friend back just recently when we had the opportunity. They feature highly elevated bar food. Think burgers, sandwiches, wings, fries, etc. The Burgers are Wagyu, the sandwiches are THICC, the wings are huge and crispy, and the fries are seasoned. Some of the things we've had:The Sheriff (Burger - Cheddar Cheese, Beer Battered Onion Rings, Grilled Onions, BBQ Sauce, Mayonnaise, $17) - This is a huge and delicious burger! We added bacon, which is the move. The onion rings are crispy and delicious! Super juicy and packed with flavor. Past (Sandwich - Certified Angus Beef Pastrami, Swiss Cheese, Coleslaw, Hidden Sauce, Honey Mustard, MK Sauce, $15) - Got this on Dutch Crunch and loved it! Such a flavorful sandwich with all the sauces! MVP (Wings - Sweet & Spicy Soy Glaze and Topped with Green Onions, 5 for $10 or 10 for $18). These are some of the best wings I've had in a long time. They are huge, meaty, and flavorful. The MVP sauce is one of my favorites, anywhere. I love dipping wings in ranch, but this sauce is so good I usually just eat it straight. Honey Garlic Butter (Wings, Topped with Sesame Seeds) - Another winner. The flavor on these is insanely good, definitely recommend! Beer Battered Onion Rings (SM $8, LG $10) - These are crispy, fresh and delicious. There is a perfect ratio of batter; not too much, and not too onion-y. They pair well dipped in any of their sauces! Seasoned Fries (SM $7, LG $9) - Some of the best seasoned fries I've had. Perfect size, perfect crispiness, and so much flavor in the seasoning. Again, pairs well with any of their sauces!Sauces - There are 12+ house made sauces. They have the basics like ranch, blue cheese, BBQ, buffalo, but also various aiolis, spicy ranch, Hidden Sauce, MK Sauce and more. My only complaint is that the serving is a little small for $1/each; I have to spend $15-$20 just on sides of sauce!Overall we've enjoyed both experiences eating at Hidden Spot in Hometown Heroes. The food is soo good, and definitely tastes better when you eat it fresh, rather than ordering delivery. Thanks to all the hardworking staff, but a special shoutout to Erick who enhanced our experience. He was particularly friendly, helpful, and generally awesome!Already looking forward to my next meal at Hidden Spot! Check the reel on IG: @bbnem.eats

Such a cute place to stop and grab lunch on a nice day in Half Moon Bay - they have a ton of outdoor seating in a cute garden area w/ an outdoor bar as well.My key highlights of our lunch were definitely the chilli dog & the mac n cheese bites. Highly recommend both!

The best late night hang over cure in the area. It's a one man show who's cooking, taking orders, and working the register. Service was fast and food was hot off the grill. I recommend the onion rings and everything on the burger +bacon

Burgers were huge and had a really good charbroiled taste. The self service toppings bar was probably my favorite part. The cheese on the fries was spicy but the taste of it was not my favorite. Would come back here my kids loved it too.

I was craving some burgers one day, and this burger joint was within walking distance to me so I decided to try them out. The burgers did not disappoint! I enjoyed my El Jefe burger along with the crispy fries and onion rings. One little detail I love is that a little gummy burger was included with my order! I would definitely come back again next time.

"Tucked away by SF state and hidden away in the fog is a gem of a burger.Hall of flame has mostly classic burgers, with Niman ranch burger Pattie's (yum). I ordered the humdinger, which has a generous helping of mushrooms on top. My boyfriend and I were craving the same burger so the only difference was his was medium and mine was medium rare. Both were so juicy. As soon as we bit in, our hands were splashed. The house salad was yummy with a light and balanced dressing that is neither too sweet nor too acidic. Quite large for the price! The service and ambiance are what you expect from a casual burger spot. They're quick and kind; the chairs and cups are plastic. But if you're just looking for a quick, casual burger while watching some sports, this is the spot."
"Love the service here!!!!!Best espresso martini in the city by far. I usually do not like espresso martinis, but I do really enjoy it here. Also have tried a cosmopolitan, hugo spritz and gin and tonic here which all were great. They play fun music and have a large interior and exterior where it is great to catch up with friends. I have not tried their food, but it is on my bucket list to come here for dinner! This is an iconic SF spot that is a must try."
"From start to finish everything went great. Sat outside in the parklet (with heat lamp) as requested in the reservation and watched the passersby which is quite spectacular given the neighborhood. The food was excellent including the stews (beef & lamb) and the ribeye, and the service too - very friendly and didn't rush us out. Will be back for sure."
"I've had this restaurant bookmarked for over a year and I am so glad I happened to be up the block to finally try it. I tried their spicy lemon pepper and buffalo flavor and both were so tasty. The wings were cooked very well, the skin got nice and crispy on the outside while still retaining the juiciness on the inside. Their French fries were also good. I'd love to try their other flavors next time."
"This place is ran by the sweetest kindest man I would imagine he's Mr. Mardini. Every time I come in, he greets me with a smile. He makes sure that I have what I want. He remembers my order and always gives me extra garlic sauce. I get his veggie plate. The baba ganoosh Is unlike anyone's I've ever had with fresh herbs in it. The hummus is yummy and falafels tasty. I recommend it, most of all, for the love that he puts into his food. It's very fresh and very good"
"This review is mainly for the veggie cheese steak which consists of a few veggies with cheese . Overall it was bland ,since there were no seasoning added it seems. The meat options maybe be better .also it took really long to get the order ,even though there were just orders ahead of me"
"Was staying at the hotel across the street and needed a quick bite, so a burger fit the bill. I went with a standard cheeseburger, fries, and can of coke. The burger itself was good, good bun, and fresh veggies. The sauce and some extra mayo saved the burger for me, although it was a juicy burger. Definitely grab napkins. The fries reminded me of a better version of in n out fries, but definitely need to salt to taste. I spent $25 for a burger, fries, and coke after tax, fees, and tip. I think it's a serviceable burger and will satisfy the burger fix, especially if it's walking distance and in need of a quick meal."
"If you have to kill time before departing at SFO, go here! Or if the person you're picking up from SFO is starving and they're open, go here! Good parking lot. Don't have to find street parking."
"The burger was a tad pricey for a burger meal. My plate was $20 and I got the big mouth burger with onion rings. Everything was fresh, and the onion rings were coated in this beer battered. I def should had tried their other options since they would had been better"
"This cozy pub in Inner Richmond is a gem! They offer an amazing selection of craft beers, especially IPAs, which we love. They often have tap takeover events, so there's always something new to try.The food is superior to average bar food. I've tried every burger on the menu, and they're all phenomenal--each one comes with your choice of a fresh side salad or perfectly crispy tater tots. The Philly cheesesteak is another favorite, with just the right amount of spice and flavor. Fair pricing as well - a night out that won't break the bank. One of the biggest highlights? Their breakfast burritos. As SoCal natives from OC/LA, we have high standards for a good breakfast burrito, and this is hands-down the best we've had in the city. It's so authentic and delicious that we never remember to snap a picture! The atmosphere here is warm and welcoming, thanks to the super friendly servers who now feel like familiar friends. We come here weekly (sometimes twice!), and it's become our "third place"--like the neighborhood pubs you'd find in England. Perfect for catching a game too, with lots of good seating options. If you're looking for great beer, even better food, and a welcoming vibe, this is the spot."
"After living in SF for nearly 30 years and driving by here countless times, I finally tried out Tony's and I wasn't disappointed. The service was great and the food was good. I got a cheeseburger with a side of onion rings. I am very particular about what I consider good onion rings, and these were excellent. The burger was as good as it should be and my daughter totally enjoyed her hot dog and crinkle fries. Like I mentioned, the service was good. The 2 people I interacted with were very friendly."
"Best bar in the marina. Great staff, great drinks, and the best place to watch the Miami Dolphins on Sundays. Fins Up!"
"Hands down, the best classic breakfast/brunch diner in downtown Redwood City. My go-to; the eggs Benedict with sausage patties, a side of hashbrowns smothered in grilled onions and cheese. Exquisite..."
"Local watering hole. As someone who frequents this location almost weekly I can say I have nothing bad to say.The staff are so friendly and attentive. The food is great and I love the daily specials which mixes things up. They source most of their food locally in the Bay Area. For anyone wanting a good solid meal with great service I highly recommend. They do have TVs all around playing different sports and have a bar section. Kid friendly and outside seating for those bringing pets. My favorites are their deviled eggs, apple chicken salad, pot roast and pretty much any burger with garlic fries!"
"This pizza was great! I got a 4 cheese medium pizza to share with my parents and it was very very cheesy. The service was nice, the atmosphere of the restaurant was great. The menu was very pretty and they had lots of options. If you're vegetarian, they also have a margharita pizza and a veggie pizza, which I would like to try in the future. I can see why this place is well known. Their pizza is very good and you can tell that they make it with love. I hope to come back here again when I'm back in SF and want a nice pizza. They sell slices as well and they have a good amount of seating inside. I definitely recommend it to any pizza lovers."
"Come for the great beer selection and stay for the crispy cheese on the pesto chicken sandwich. Also solid beet salad."
"Solid spot for a nice big burger in the sunset! This place is totally casual and gives off beachy vibes even though it is a ways up from the ocean. They serve up burgers, a variety of fries, and some other sandwiches. We've come to enjoy a beer and fries on their outdoor picnic tables, and also for burgers. While burgers are their namesake, they aren't messing around on the fries either. I've had both the regular and curry fries and have loved how crispy each of them are, they also don't skimp on the serving. Burgers are big and juicy and come loaded with all the toppings you'd want. I've had the mushroom deluxe and papa burger, both were really good and I'd order either one again. Prices have gone up since the start of the year, we came in January and burgers were all about $3 more when we came back in June, but the prices aren't absurd for what you get. The burgers are rather large and filling, plus with the cost of food going up it makes sense."
"I give the Reuben by the Refuge establishment (whether San Mateo, San Carlos, or the former Mountain View location) a solid 5 out of 5 stars, every time. The flavor profile compliments the pastrami so well, I will always order it over any other food item on the menu. (My family lived off of mouth-watering pastrami sandwiches from NYC delis in the 80s, and this is honestly the closest and the best of what we can get in the Bay! The Pastrami sando on its own somehow doesn't do it for me.) I'm picky about my fries so I skip the fried items here. Besides, I enjoy every morsel of the Reuben I can't think about or fit anything else!I got the Half Soup/Half Reuben and the Coleslaw to share, which I love. The Hibiscus Punch was refreshing and not too sweet ;) I devoured them and was happily full to the brim. Service was courteous and prompt. This Hillsdale location is spacious, gets great natural light, has a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. Convenient to access from the parking structure nearby. There are booths and tables that accommodate smaller and larger parties. I'd definitely come again when I'm in the area."
"Food was incredible, the diner vibes go so hard. The service was amazing we sat down and had a clean table, water, and coffee within about thirty seconds."
"Sweet little spot, a few small tables to dine in if you're not taking out though it seems that's most of their business, especially third party apps.Very nice owner, polite, he and his right hand got down to work on our order in their small but tidy, clean space.Onion rings are **bomb and so is the cheeseburger that was absolutely juicy and delicious. The fish & chips were just okay, frozen fish filets, nothing extra. But the burger and onion rings- for those alone, go! Prices reasonable, accepts credit cards."
"I'm writing this review as I'm devouring my medium well bacon cheddar burger (w/ extra sauce) and their deliciously crispy, almost toasty fries. Called an order in for takeout on my lunch break, and the woman who answered was very efficient but very friendly. Said it would be ready in 5 minutes and sure enough -- it was. Came inside to pick up my food and was greeted by a nice gentlemen, immediate smile, and just overall genuineness. The place wasn't too packed, but it's 12:30 on a Tuesday in a sleepier part of The City. I could see this place going real big. HANDS DOWN, best burger and fries I've ever had. The bun was buttery, burger cooked nicely (I don't usually like medium but I forgot to ask for well done and I'm so glad I didn't -- SOOOO juicy), bacon was thick and flavorful, and their secret sauce.... HOOOO BOY their secret sauce... it was garlicky, peppery, and sweet all at once. AH?? just overall a delicious experience. i'm in love and will definitely be coming back again."
"We came here on a semi-rainy day with our dog and sat in the large back yard! I was craving seafood so we got the fish tacos Baja style grilled (yum! The red cabbage was almost creamy) and the fish and chips were a bit more decadent but with a hell of a lot of fish. We also split a grilled cheese which was surprisingly delicious and came with a side of fries. We chose to get the vegetable of the day which was as Brussels sprouts. They were topped with Parmesan and were a good attempt although a little greasy for my liking. The woman at the counter was super nice and answered all my questions about the different fish options. You can even order a side of cod on a salad if you want something super healthy. I thought the backyard was nice and there was a fire pit. There was some seating with an overhang which is good for rain. You pick up the food yourself and get your own silverware. Overall, would come back."
"The burger here is a smash and it was juicy with flavor. The beer battered onion rings and cheese fries were delicious. I did get a shake with those fries which makes it a great combination. This is a good casual place grab good food in Noe Valley . This place does it my way, The Hi-Way."
