"This was my first Yakiniku experience so I'm really glad I was able to experience it here before my Japan trip! I came here last night at 7:30 pm with my partner and his father to celebrate a late Father's Day dinner. We arrived a bit early and got seated immediately. The restaurant was decorated with modern decor and aesthetically beautiful wall paintings. It made the ambiance look so clean and pristine.There were two set menu options, a tasting menu and a "full version" of the tasting menu. We all decided on the tasting menu and we were so satisfied at the end of our meal.The set came with some complimentary sides like kimchi, pickled cucumbers, and seasoned bean sprouts. Whenever our side dishes were empty, it would be replenished immediately by our chef without asking.Our chef would present each piece of meat, explain the pairing of ingredients it was combined with, and prepared it on the grill right in front of us before serving it to us. It was giving "Omakase" style which I absolutely love. All the Wagyu pieces we ate were all so delicious! There were multiple cuts of Australian, American, and Japanese Wagyu. My favorites would have to be the Australian Beef Tongue, American Short Ribs and the Japanese A5 Oyster Blade. Each of these had its own unique fatty flavor that melted amazingly in my mouth. I was so happy and full towards the end. The frozen yogurt was a nice refreshing finish for dessert. It was the perfect touch to end the night."

"Went for some bfast Phillipine grub. Found myself in a small strip mall in Daly City choosing some authentic dishes behind a shield of glass in a divey cafe. Yelp says it's closed today, but it's not. Food is average but decent tasting and filling. Lots of options to choose from. They serve the usuals; Beef Caldaretta (beef stew w/veggies),Sisig (flavorful choice chunks of chicken, pork or beef), chicken and pork adobo, BBQ chicken and pork skewers, rice, noodles and so on.. But today.... They had Embudito! As an American, I can describe it as a Philipinno meat loaf. So obvi, I grabbed a loaf of that. Yumm.Definitely a 'cheapy go-to' resto."

Even though my wife found it last Saturday at EGDistrict 56 she just was recovering from food poisoning so nothing sounded delicious at the time & she just wanted to head home. She loved the name get in my belly right? Like it was so catchy & so inviting that she searched them online. Come to find out they were located in the Bay. She followed them on IG & they messaged her to let her know they would return to Sacramento for the Foodieland event.Aw bc of the nasty heat & Foodieland is outdoors we went super early on Saturday but it didn't begin until 1 PM. We were first in line & received our food right away. The olden days we used to just follow foodie trucks in the bay but even to see them at the Alameda Antique Fair you still have to pay to get in. So then my wife MADE time for them on this past busy Mother's Day weekend. My wife ordered combination St Louis Ribs & garlic shrimp with their Java rice & pickled veggies which were mouthwatering delicious! Even the ribs were FALL OF THE BONE! OMGOSH! Wowee!!'The pork belly & Bbq chicken were tasty with the garlic noodles! Whoa we were very happy to finally try them in person! Thank you very much!!! Can't wait until you return to Sactown again!!! Also, food was still hot after 1.2 mile walk, so was hot and fresh when taken.I have an allium (i.e. onion) allergy, and I really have to thank this place as they made all the food fresh for me without onions. This is the main reason for five stars as soooooooooo many places ignore my allergy or forget.The food tasted good, ingot fish, ribs, and soup. The won ton soup was my far my favorite. It had shrimp in the won tons! Also they were nice and fat.I will be coming again."

"This place is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner. The staff is nice and helpful and the service is decently fast too. The plate's portion size was a bit small and I wish it had more chicken kebab on there. Wraps were a decent size though! The lebneh and signature sofra bread was to die for! The ambiance is simple and befitting for a place that's an affordable midweek dinner or lunch place. Wouldn't mind trying a couple more items from their menu another time. Also, their black tea is pretty good and serves about 3-4 people at once. The place is next to a smart and final and has some street parking too. No reservations needed. Only giving it 4 stars as the portion size could have been a bit larger for the price we paid."

"The guy running this spot really knows his way around a grill. I was staying somewhat close by and was looking at food options in the area when Drew's pop up. I noted the limited days/hours they were open and marked it as a place to try when I was in the Bay Area. Only open on Friday/Saturdays from 12-7 it is worth stopping by if you are in the area. The menu is real simple: Ribs, Chicken, and Hot Links with 4 sides to choose from, Mac & Cheese, Baked Beans, Green Beans, and Potato Salad. I went on a Saturday afternoon and ordered the 2 Way which I chose the ribs & chicken along with the mac & cheese and green beans as my sides. Also added a couple of links to the order. I was told that all the sides were homemade except the potato salad which was still supposed to be good.This is strictly a carry-out only operation just so you know. Ribs 4/5Chicken 4/5Links 3.5/5Mac & cheese 4/5Green beans 4/5The ribs and chicken were cooked very well and the rub used was good. Nice smoky flavor that only charcoal can give you. There were some bottled BBQ sauces available on the table but I forgot to add some before I left. No matter it wasn't needed since the rub was good. Although it wasn't the best BBQ I've had it is good and I would recommend trying Drew's BBQ out sometime."

It's so well-seasoned, with excellent flavors. The jerk chicken is so good, and I love the plantains too! The rice with the beans is yummy and balances the seasonings of the chicken. I've also tried the corn fritters which were good too. The mac cheese was okay to me. So glad that this is in the area! It makes for a good meal."

The iPad ordering system is unique, but our multiple orders were delayed, requiring us to shout for our server's attention. There had to be multiple orders since they don't allow more selections to come to your table at a time. Seated at table D-1 on a Sunday night (last night), we encountered a disinterested server who seemed indifferent to our needs. He was basically never checking his ipad at all.My soup was boiling away as I waited for veggies, and the tom yum refill was disappointingly flavorless. Overall, the atmosphere felt more like a canteen than a dining experience. Unfortunately, this was our first and last visit; there are far better hot pot options in the city."

When I pulled into the parking lot, I saw someone actually chopping wood for the cookers--now that's authentic Texan barbecue! Finding this level of barbecue along the Peninsula, or even across the Bay, is rare, so I'm thrilled to have discovered this place.I stopped in on a Saturday for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the comprehensive barbecue menu. I opted for the 3-meat plate (with two sides): brisket, Louisiana sausages, and pork ribs. Everything was perfectly cooked--succulent, tender, juicy, and full of flavor. While the proteins were outstanding, the sauces deserve just as much praise. The "Capeliente" was a standout; I loved it so much I went back for a second cup. The DiabloXX (smoked habanero and jalapeño peppers with ghost pepper extract) had a nice spicy kick, but it wasn't overwhelmingly hot, which I appreciated. I also tried the Porklicious South Carolina Mustard and Sweet Kansas sauces, but the Capeliente and DiabloXX were my favorites.The sides were classic barbecue staples, rounding out a complete and satisfying meal. The venue offers plenty of parking, along with indoor and outdoor dining areas and a bar. I'll definitely be coming back for more very soon!"

"Came to Old Pier Hong Kong BBQ for dinner which offers both a la carte or "set" menu options. I say "set" only because you get to select from a small list for each category (soup, entrees, fish, etc) which is a pretty neat concept in my opinion. We went with the set for 4-5 and honestly, the food was probably enough for 6 modest appetites. And at $78, that's a pretty good value!My favorite dish of the night was the roast pork which had that nice crackling skin, crisp meat, and buttery fat. They also serve it with sugar which is something you don't see as often but very HK style. Other good dishes included the sautéed beans which were crisp and fresh, the crab and fish maw soup which wasn't too thick and featured a decent amount of both premium ingredients, and the pepper beef ribs which were tender and had good flavor. The onions were also carmelized nicely so they weren't just inedible filler (sorry, I'm not the biggest fan of raw onions).Service is as expected from a Chinese restaurant so don't set expectations too high. The floor is also kind of greasy so just watch your step."

We love skewers so we quickly placed an order via the QR code on the table. We ordered some chicken gizzards, clam noodle soup, bacon wrapped enoki mushrooms, and a skewer combo which comes with assorted skewers. The noodle soup was nice in warming us up. I was impressed that it had a good amount of clams. The skewers were pretty mediocre in my opinion. I've had better at other places. The seasoning wasn't that great. I preferred more cumin and chilis. The grill that keeps everything warm was not hot enough so nothing really stayed hot when eating. It was hard to separate some of the items from the bamboo sticks. Overall for the price point and flavor, I'd prefer to go elsewhere."

I liked both items, but really loved the crispy chicken for my main. We ordered bottomless mimosas for the group and were shocked when they brought out a bottle per person. Totally get why they did so that we wouldn't have to be asking for more throughout the drag performance, but the bottles did get a little warm as we worked through all 8 of them. The show was super fun! There were 4 different queens all with their own vibe and energy. you have to pre purchase tickets online, which are $8 a piece."

"It was just one of those days when hotpot sounded like a good choice for dinner. Arrived on Friday night at around 7pm, and there were plenty of tables open. Pros (didnt really have any cons) - The staff were friendly and attentive. Quick to answer questions and checked on us often. Everything - from the veggies to the meats - all tasted fresh. Items arrived quickly. Lots of choices and we were stuffed. Fave meats for me were the cumin lamb and wagyu. Loved the watercress and oyster mushrooms. There were a few sweets on the menu, but they also gave us mango sorbet at the end of our meal. It's a 90 minute time limit, and they came over to tell us when our time was almost up. However, it was more than enough time for us."

The food came out hot and well-seasoned, with generous portions that were perfect for sharing. Every bite was delicious!
