Shoutout to Chloe for handling the reservation changes with such grace, and Maz for being the best server! Came here for my birthday dinner on Saturday and had such an amazing experience. We had a party of 8 and did the set menu called Ask Billy. Ask Billy has to be the best quality and quantity set menu I've ever had. The dishes legit felt never-ending and every dish was fresh and absolutely delicious. I can't recommend ordering the set menu enough if you're a big party; you can avoid making menu choices for everyone, and you can get a little bit of everything. They bring out the food on a shared plate if you're a larger party; for us it was 4 servings on each plate, and they also paired some courses together. I loved the serving style because it brought together upscale dining with Asian family-style eating. My god though, they really know how to feed you; everyone in my party was struggling by the end. The only thing I'd change about my experience is I would've loved to get a small menu with the set menu details, so we could appreciate the food more, and anticipate what to come.I'm so happy with my choice to dine at Bodega! I really wanted a memorable meal, and I got it. They had such warm service too; they put a candle on my dessert course and took a polaroid of me with it, which they handed to me at the end of our dinner dated for the memories!10/10 experience! Grateful for the good food and impeccable vibes, and can't wait to do it again.

I've had this place bookmarked for a while and finally got to try it for lunch. We did family style between 6 of us. Great flavors overall, I would love to come back and pick 1-2 dishes to focus on to get the experience of the full dish instead of a bite of each. - Banh cuon - I'm normally not really a banh cuon fan, but here the wrapper was delicate and ground meat inside was moist- Bun cha - meatball texture was great and flavor of the sauce was good (and fatty)- Spring roll with nem nuong - a plainer dish- Chicken salad - a light option of a dish- Shaking beef - definitely a must, potatoes are so creamy and beef had a rich umami buttery flavor. Get it with rice, my parents were commenting on how good the white rice was- Dry hu tieu - the fish cake was a nice texture, sauce was more soy sauce flavored. Hard to share amongst people so it would be better to get this as your own dish so you can get the perfect bite- Hojicha panna cotta - texture was on the softer side like soft tofu. Not too sweet and I enjoyed the different textures of the toppingsMy dad noticed the sign outside - Bo De Ga is actually beef, goat, and chicken in Vietnamese, how clever!

Visiting San Fran for a few days and wanted to try something unique. The food here is delicious, fresh, creative and flavorful ! Very different from traditional Vietnamese dishes. Two of us ate well for $130 (including tip) - two premium cocktails (gimlet and the toastini), an appetizer (Bo Tai Chanh), bun cha and a special on the menu (don't know the name)- Noodles with king crab. Everything was super good and fresh! The noodles were very peppery but well balanced with the fresh ginger. We only have photos of two of the dishes to share. In writing this review, we just noticed they charged us for a drink we ordered but they didn't end up having the ingredients for it and we ordered something else - so we were charged an extra $16 by mistake - totally our bad for not checking the bill, so just a reminder to always check your bill!!! We know they would have corrected it if we had noticed before now! Their servers were very friendly and helpful and answered all our questions.Highly recommend if you are looking for fresh Vietnamese food with a twist!!!!!

Overall a good experience! Didn't order much off the menu - just split a spring rolls and had a Hanoi pho. Solid choices! Pho didn't have a ton of meat, but the broth was good and Chinese donut on the side went well with it. Overall service was pretty attentive and a great ambiance. Seems to be a good spot for larger groups and families too - will have to go back and try more items in the menu!

Drove past this place and took of photo of the exterior because of how cute it looked. Ended up going back to eat there the next day! Did not disappoint! We got lucky with a walk in table around 2pm when the place closes at 3pm. Would definitely recommend making a reservation next time to be on the safe side! Server was attentive and the food came out quick once we placed our order! Lemongrass grilled wings were packed with so much flavor! Banh Cuon was also a hit, so delicious! Only thing I probably wouldn't order again would be the spring rolls. They were good and only $5 but I think I just prefer a traditional spring roll shape and portion.

They have a great asian focused cocktail menu too.Definitely will come back!

Nice boujee viet food!I will say I was on the fence about eating out and paying more than $ for viet food outside or SJ or my family home. However, Bodega was a great experience!Highlights: the Pandan sponge cake (and I want to say coconut or lychee gelato..?) made our jaws drop. The banh cuon was also delish and tasted fresh (highly recommend if you want to explore Viet dishes outside of just pho or eggrolls)!Other notes: - check out the Felix (attached speak easy) while you wait!- it's pretty hard to get in without a reservation. We were turned away the first time and came back a later day with a reservation.

upscale vietnamese for my friends birthday lunch! made a reservation for 5 at 11:30am the day before and scored a table; there was a line when we arrived for a busy lunch. dishes: Banh CuonBun ChaVietnamese Chicken Salad Lemongrass pork chop x2Bodega Beef Pho x2wanted to the the Banh Cuon bc of the great yelp reviews, but my favorite, and the tables favorite, was the Bun Cha!! so much flavor and fun to have meat, noodles, and lettuce to wrap it all. Lemongrass pork was good, some charred flavor, satisfying, but nothing too memorable. Bodega Beef Pho had a great broth and different types of meat cuts. If you want Hoisin or Sriracha or limes or peppers, ask and they will bring it out in some small bowls. My friend drank all of his broth and i ate all my noodles! combined together again and got another bowls worth of leftovers.

This family style Vietnamese place is must check-out if you're in the FiDi of SF and craving some upscale Vietnamese food!I got 3 items, the nom, Bo luc lac, and roasted garlic bokchoy. The nom has a bit of a kick to it, but honestly, i'd skip it. It's not very flavorful and works as an appetizer. The roast garlic bok choy is perfectly warm and clean. It's a good and fresh soup that I'd recommend as an appetizer or a good side if you're having a dry dish. It doesn't take away from the main items, and is a good addition. The Bo Luc Lac was tasty, but a bit dry. I didn't find the meat to be as juicy as it looked and was more impressed with the vegetables than the main part of the meat itself. The servers were beyond nice and extremely welcoming. I came late and on lunar new year weekend, but we were just barely able to be seated. Verdict: I'd come back, but I wouldn't get any of the items I got originally, besides the bok choy!
