tldr hidden gem rustic, low frills chinese spot serving up authentic chinese classics w/ easy qr code menu + ordering - bridging the language gap! I'll preface I'm huge fan of supporting small family businesses, especially when the food is authentic, cheap, bomb....and I just ran 5 miles. Beef noodle soup (5/5) interestingly the soup looks like it's really spicy but there was absolutely no heat. noodles are really chewy, meat is tender, portion is huge and soup is well seasoned w/ umami. You can top it w/ some chili oil for some heat. Perfect for any night! Is it the best i've tasted? No but it's pretty close to it and my favorite spot in sf so far. service was easy with the qr menu and it's a no frills spot so don't expect too much on the decor. owner is friendly/may not speak the best english but they serve up some complementary hot tea and food is very reasonably priced for sf. I will be back to try other dishes! Overall i rarely give out 5 stars but here's one of them and hope they have more business!! food 5/5service 4/5ambiance 3/5value 5/5

We were looking for a place near the Golden Gate Park and the reviews with pictures looked amazing. It took us about ten minutes to find parking on a Sunday afternoon, but parking was free. Once we got inside we were the only people so we were seated right away. Many people came in to buy frozen dumplings for take out. Spicy tripe: 2/5 it was cold (did not expect that), was not spicy and would not order again. Beef Roll: 4/5 a bite i had felt like it still had raw dough inside, but overall was good. Beef Noodle Soup: 5/5 was a big hit at our table. My little one loved the noodles. My husband couldn't get enough of the soup. The only downside is that they did not have any drinks besides water and tea.

So glad we ended up coming here when Yuanbao had a very long line for Saturday lunch! IMO the dumplings here are even better than Yuanbao, they are more bigger, more juicy, and the filling to dough ratio is perfection. (No picture bc we devoured the dumplings in seconds)The beef noodle soup was also huge and the broth was delicious, perfect for a rainy day. This place might be my go to now for dumplings in the Sunset!

Bei Fang Style is a hidden gem in the sunset!! I'm so happy that I finally got to try this place out. It's a pretty small hole in the wall restaurant with maybe 6 tables. You order from a QR code at your table and the food is brought out to you. The waitress was super attentive and food came out quickly. We ordered the beef noodle soup, pan fried pork buns, pork dumplings with cabbage, and beef roll pancake. The pan fried pork buns were from my dreams, the bun was sooo fluffy and pork inside was flavorful and juicy! I liked that the buns weren't overly oily and were actually lightly fried on the bottoms. I loved the beef noodle soup as well. Despite how red it looked it was not spicy at all, which was great! The broth is oily but so delicious, the beef flavor definitely came out but wasn't overwhelming. It's probably one of my fave beef noodle soups I've had in the bay. The dumplings were good as well, they sell frozen ones too so I bought a bag to take home! Beef roll pancake was good but probably wouldn't get again as it wasn't that special. The food here tasted super homemade in the best way possible and satisfied my craving for authentic Chinese food. I will be back!!

A family-run dumpling place that offers a variety of northern Chinese dishes/bites. Their dumplings were ok. I liked their chives and eggs most. The savory Chinese crepe tasted off-- the fried dough had no crispy texture and the whole thing just tasted so bland. Beef roll was ok. The pancake was more on the starchy side than the flaky. I didn't order the signature beef noodles but it looked good. The food was pretty mediocre but the price was affordable.

Sit down business still hasn't quite picked up again at Bei Fang Style, but the lady who runs is still hustling to churn out some good Bei Fang (an area of Beijing) goodies. My favorites are still the small bites - I really enjoy the pan fried pork buns which are a good size, fluffy, with a juicy pork patty inside and the pot stickers which she only pan fries one side so you still get that soft supple dumpling exterior with the golden crispy bottom. I've also tried the marinated cold dishes with the spicy beef tendon being my favorite.Today we did try something new which was the grilled cold noodle. It was neither cold nor a noodle dish, at least not the presentation you expect! It looked like a sheet of cold noodle that was wrapped around a savory spicy sauce and cilantro like a crepe that was then dipped in egg and fried up. It was interesting! I don't think I'd reorder it but I'm glad I tried it!5 plates made a good lunch for 4. It came to just over $50 so it's still a good deal too!

I came here craving my mom's northern Chinese cooking, and left feeling I just left a nice warm homey meal with my grandma. I ordered the jianbing (Chinese pancake) and the chives pancake, and both items were made fresh to-order. The grandma making the food was so sweet and nice, I think she was the only person making the food and running the store. Made me feel so comfortable and love supporting local family owned businesses While the Chinese pancake wasn't as flavorful as I thought, the chives pancake was definitely very good. Fried to a good crisp with a leek and shrimp inside! Overall seemed to be a spot the locals would go to. The payment and ordering system is very easy, scan to order codes on the tables. I recommend bringing cash for a discount!
