Service is straightforward and to the point. The ambiance is a small bakery where you stop by to pick up what you need and go. There is no sitting down. Our go-to move is to visit Karilagan next door and after we are done eating is to visit this spot for some ensaymada. I love good ol' ube ensaymada but I think its a bit much of sweetness that I like a good ol' classic one more. Try the Dulce de Leche Ensaymada too. Cassava...bibingka...cheese rolls...omg I'm getting diabetes just thinking about this place. Its great. This is a great Filipino dessert place and if you don't know filipino dessert, look it up and TRY IT! There's a reason why almost all Filipinos got gaut and/or diabetes. Yolo!

When you walk into this lovely neighborhood bakery, the sweet smells of Filipino pastries, dance in the air and fill your mind with delight as you peruse the different offerings across the display counters and refrigerated section. They have all the traditional types of pastries that you would expect such as ensaymadas as well as Leche flan, but there were some surprises, including sapin sapin and ube halaya. What I was most excited about was the bibingka with cheese, which is freshly made with banana leaf as well as the ube ensaymada. Both were amazing! The bibingka was so light and fluffy and my family and I definitely fought for the pieces which had cheese in them and the ube ensaymada was filled with some halaya which tasted super fresh.Probably a bit on the pricer side for Filipino desserts but for the quality and the love that you can taste within them, highly worth it!Service was fast, packed everything up fresh upon ordering. We were able to find street parking, no problem. They are next to a Filipino restaurant too so it might get a bit more packed around lunchtime.

Considering Auntie Em's is one of the few authentic Filipino bakeries that have been around, I wanted to love the baked goods and write such a hyped view. However, truthfully, they were okay.I can not say much about service, ambiance, or parking as the pastries were bought for/brought to me. What was ordered: -Ube Ensaymada -Dulce De Leche Ensaymada -Buko Pandan Cupcake -Ube Cupcake Highlights: 1) Some of the pastries were soft and moist. For example, the cupcakes.2) Ube-flavored pastries are executed well and you can taste the Ube. Ube has become such a hyped phenomenon and a highlighted flavor profile on many menus nowadays. Yet, a lot of bakeries treats and desserts barely have the Ube flavor.3) I appreciate the pieces of young coconut added to the Buko-pandan pastriesCons: 1) Ensaymada was a bit dry.2) Dulce de leche flavored pastries are very subtle. I guess this depends on preference. 3) Buko-pandan-flavored pastries are very subtle. 4) Expensive. For example, $4 per cupcake 5) I was not fond of the cream cheese frosting for the cupcakes.Despite my review, I would not mind giving Auntie Em's another try.

Through stumbling upon a photo of a slice of Halo Halo cake on yelp's main page on the phone app, I discovered Auntie Em's Fine Foods & Pastries. I had never heard of them before and was surprised to learn that they are just a few minutes drive away from my house. I showed some of their dessert pictures to Mom and she was immediately sold - we went to check them out the next day, Sunday, May 12, 2024 (Mother's Day). The venue is teenie weenie. I almost missed seeing it on El Camino Real. Maximum occupancy for the customer area likely isn't more than ten persons. Upon entry, patrons have about four to six feet from the front door to the counter where you place and pick up orders. Baked goods are on display at a side table on the left wall, the window display at the front counter, and the small fridge at the right wall. No room at all for any tables or chairs inside and no seating outside, either. This place is solely for take-out orders. No parking lot, either, street parking only.Auntie Em specializes in sweet & savory Filipino bites from Ube Halaya and Bibingka Kanin to Beef or Chicken Empanadas and Chicharon. They also bake up some unique flavours of cake. Mom enjoyed the Trio Kakanin, Ube Ensaymada and Buko Pie. DJ said that the regular Ensaymada was OK. I found the Bibingka to be tasty and soft. I did wish that it had a bit of a chew, though. We also purchased a whole Nutella Sans Rival for V to try and to share with the rest of the Santos family. Everyone thought that the Nutella Sans Rival was too sweet. We agreed that regular sans rival is the more preferred by us all.Service was quick and friendly.

I feel that this is one of a very few Philipino bakeries around.I'm personally not a fan, but have gone here several times because my coworkers enjoy some of their overly sweet pastries. The staff is always rude. The guy at the cashier can't answer any questions and their menu board is always out of date. They only take cash.I finally tried their buko pie and was seriously disappointed by their lack of flaky crust and their dull tasting coconut. I've actually stopped buying pastries for my coworkers here because I don't like the attitude this shop gives me and their arrogance in assuming that customers don't matter. And as always I find their pastries to be too sweet for my tastes.

If it weren't for the customer service, definitely five stars. I love supporting fresh filipino bakeries. Hehe. I love love love their salted egg bibingka. When I first tried it, it arrived to my house warm and fresh out the oven. Ughhhh so good. If you aren't familiar with salted egg, you might not like it. But don't knock it til you try it. *Drool*I've tried their nutella sansrival and their bibingka kanin. The bibingka kanin is a childhood favorite for me and they nailed it. The nutella sansrival was good, but a little bit too nutty for me. Would love to try their other pastries like the ube and dulce de leche ensymada, cheese rolls, alfajores, or their other unique cakes like the halo halo cake. They recommend placing your orders over the phone 24 hours in advance as some items do run out throughout the day.

Yum!! Quick stop to get some fresh Filipino bread!UBE ENSAYMADA - It's soooo soft. Good ube flavor. CHEESEROLL - Yummy cheese filling inside of a crispy shell. I tried to save these for breakfast next morning. Self control is a work-in-progress in me. These are just too good.Easy street parking on the same street. Still had a good selection before closing time.

I was so lucky to finally get to try an assortment of tasty desserts, and empanadas from this particular bakery!! The last three times I've been up to South San Francisco has sadly been on a day that this bakery is closed. Every time my heart breaks!I was also a little sad that the pandan cupcakes were sold out, but not surprised at all since I was up in South San Francisco around 1 PM that means they're really just that delicious that they sell out daily! Apparently I need to leave my house earlier and drive up north faster to get one of those cupcakes or maybe a dozen! Lol The lady behind the counter was very sweet and cute. I told her I needed a couple of minutes to decide what I wanted as I took pictures and asked some friends back in San Jose if they wanted me to pick up anything for them. Lol the ambience is rather small and there was a couple ordering in front of me, but I was afraid to walk in behind them in case there wasn't enough space between the three of us. Very cute and quaint bakery, nevertheless!I loved their chicken empanadas as well as their guava cheese danishes!! I had two other pastries, and I can't remember which ones I bought now looking back at my pictures because I started snacking on them as I was driving home. But you definitely must check out this particular bakery!!I will definitely be back again!!!

This place placed save our part celebration by providing cake. Mango Tres Leche that it. I was good, moister but I honestly we always tasted mango and cake none of the tres leches flavoring at all. I honestly wants sure what to expect but for $43 it should have all the flavors that I was charged for. We tried the cheese pastry puff or something rather wasn't definitely never close to anything I've tried in the past. It was dry, very little flavor of cheese. It was flakey but not what expected at all. The lady kept saying the they were closing soon etc yet she didn't offer her best service to us, quite frankly she was annoyed the fact that we asked how fresh the pasty was. Or even offer sample since they was close to closing I mean that will only gain more repeats of customers. Unfortunately it won't be us
