This place is a go to especially if you are already making a trip to 99... you must stop by and order the dumplings. This time I got 2 orders - Steamed Dumplings- chicken & cabbage and pork and chive and an order of 4 chive buns. My favs never disappoint... pork and chive are packed with flavor. The chicken and cabbage were also tasty. I also enjoyed the chive bun crispy outside and chivey inside... a must try.Service is no nonsense... give your order so they can make your order. This is a shared food court area so there can be challenges on the weekend. It is family friendly.Come visit and enjoy.

It's very convenient to have San Dong in the area and located inside 99 Ranch. I love to order to-go while I shop. They are quick with their service. Easy to order and their menu has a good variety. These are some of my favorite items. Hands down their pan fried dumplings are quite popular. What I love about this place is you get a good portion for a good price and the quality is always consistent. The set up of the place is food court style. - Pan fried dumplings- Chicken steak rice- Pork ribs rice- Pan fried chive buns- Roast beef noodle

I was buying a few things at Ranch 99 and got hungry for lunch. Mind you, it's hard to find pescatarian items in this food court. But I did manage to find vegetable dumplings at this place. Too bad they don't have steamed ones. These were pan fried. You get 12 for about $10. I received chopsticks but pretty sure they have plastic forks and knives somewhere. The place is credit or debit card only. I'd eat these dumplings again when I'm at Ranch 99.

I'm going to sandong my own two feet and write this review as best I can.Definitely one of the best places to eat in Chinatown with delicious noodles and wonderful food. It's really very popular and very busy and good for people-watching as well.I can summarize this one quickly - basically delicious and somewhere that I go on a regular basis. One of the 20 fave restaurants in Chinatown for me.

Met friends for a quick bite after church service. I had the $8 bowl of wonton soup. The broth could have been de-greased better, but everything else was good! There was a nice amount of bok toy along with the simple, colorful extras that invite you to taste the textures. I was so happy to count eight huge wonton dumplings. On a chilly day, it was the perfect meal.

I think food taste and prices are decent. It's in a food court inside of 99 Ranch. One big reason for the 2 stars off is the disposable plastic usage. These days it costs equal to plastic to move to a biodegradable product, and sometimes even less. Since cost is the same, the only excuse is not caring.

First time going to the Ranch 99 location and it did not disappoint. I was in the area so I grabbed the bean sauce noodles to go. Big portion and cheap price - can't beat that! Tasted the same as the Chinatown location. They weren't busy at all and my food came out fast. Only negative was that the noodles were in a huge clump which made it hard to stir and mix around with the sauce/cucumbers (container was also a tight fit).

This place is located inside 99 Ranch Market. I got the buns and soup togo. The bun is really big and filled with eggs, black mushroom, chives and glass clear noodle. A hearty bun I would say. I was stuff and satisfied with just eating one by myself. The sweet and sour soup didn't hit the spot for me. The soup wasn't your typical sweet sour soup you get at your favorite restaurant or the buffet. Don't get me wrong, it has your key ingredients of making Sweet n Sour Soup but I just can't seem to like it. It seem to have a slight taste of something I can't seem to pin point. Not a bad taste, just something that I didn't care for. Do try it since everyone has different taste bud.

I loved the original San Dong and would always go there for their food and frozen dumplings whenever I visit Houston. I'd have to say they have one of the best values for the amount of food you get even though prices have gone up a bit over the years.Whenever I visit Houston, I stay at my friends place in Spring Branch, so I was so happy to find this close location of San Dong inside of 99 Ranch. They pretty much have the same items as the original restaurant and also sell their frozen dumplings too. My go-to items are the chicken cutlet rice, pork cutlet rice, pan dried pork and chive dumplings, and chive pockets. It always brings back a taste of Taiwan for me.When I'm running low on my stock of frozen dumplings at home, I'll usually bring a cooler and ice and stock up on more bags of frozen dumplings to take back to Austin. My favorites are the pork/cabbage and pork/chive.Definitely do check out either location for delicious food and what I feel are some of the best frozen dumplings money can buy.

Whoa! It's been years since I've been to 99 Ranch, and was pleasantly surprised to see an outpost of San Dong here.San Dong in Chinatown has always been an oldie but goodie for me - still remember eating there back in the 90s! Even though the original owners have sold the business, the new owners have carried on their classic dishes, and have done good job of retaining what has made the original so popular.Great to see this expansion - has my favorites like their fried pork chive dumplings, as well as their dumplings boiled inside beef broth. After Xiong's Cafe has closed, I still find myself getting San Dong's beef noodle soup to satisfy my fix. This location is located in the food court, and they take credit card.Definitely will be stopping by again whenever I'm doing grocery shopping in the area!
