Absolutely FILTHY entrance. Since we did not want a side of dust with our meal, we decided to go elsewhere. In addition, since it's a fried food overcooked vegetable cafeteria (we did not know that until we got there) we had no interest. How they have not been shut down by the health department is beyond comprehension.

This beauty needs 10 stars!!! Everytime I visit Sanford I visit this gem. They serve cafeteria-style food. Upon entering the restaurant they have several pieces of older farm equipment and other memorabilia. We had a party of 10 and they had more than enough room during the lunch rush. I had country style steak with potatoes / Mac n cheese / and cabbage. Oh and you can't forget the hush puppies. My coworkers and I thoroughly enjoyed every delicious bite.We had a few first timers - and they enjoyed it as well.

This restaurant is always busy. The food is yummy and the staff is so friendly. The restaurant is dated could use a fresh coat of paint.

I don't understand the popularity of this restaurant. Every time I've driven by around lunch time the parking lot is packed. So I figured I would give it a try, and to be honest I regret that I did. They have a two meat and two vegetable lunch for around $9, plus $2 extra for a drink. I got the chicken and flounder with a double helping of mac and cheese. The first thing I noticed was the mac and cheese was made with canned cheese, I don't understand why any restaurant would use that? Then I went to take a bite of the chicken and realize that it was just soaked in grease. Really wasn't appetizing at all. The flounder was okay, but certainly not anything I would order again. They do get extra points for having very friendly employees, but the food here is a huge disappointment!

Visited on a Friday for lunch. Walked right in directly to the cafeteria style serving line. First the prices are very low. The servers were friendly, pretty fast and professional. I ordered the fried trout. And it was cooked to order so the wait at my table was about 10 minutes. I was able to take my broccoli in cheese sauce, mashed potatoes and hushpuppies to the table. Waitress came out asking who ordered trout. At that time she asked what we were drinking and brought our beverages to the table. My meal was pretty tasty. The fish was hot and seasoned, broccoli had a fresh flavor but the cheese sauce had no taste. The mashed potatoes were lumpy and tasted like real potatoes with little to no seasoning. I was able to enjoy the meal with a few condiments. Service was good and we were able to get beverage refills. The decor was like a barn and okay if that's your taste. Building appears old and worn and could definitely use some updating. It was clean and bathrooms were clean also. I would go back.

I would like start out saying that I enjoy the taste of the food at this restaurant. However , there are two areas that could benefit from improvement. One being accessing your most popular orders at specific times and ensuring that you have the capacity to accommodate.I like chicken legs and wings. Two Sundays in a row I was told they were out of chicken legs and wings BEFORE closing. If you determine certain items are popular during certain times why not plan accordingly? Secondly, the servers could also benefit from training as to what should be said in the presence of customers. The older thin lady with the bangs (red hair) continued to say a chicken ain't got but so many legs. We got other chicken they can get. She repeatedly mumbled comments regarding the numerous requests for legs and wings. And even though they said they were out of legs on both Sundays I found out they did have chicken legs as I watched them after 2:00 put chicken legs in their boxes to eat for their lunch. The second visit after telling that there were no legs and I explained how this was a reoccurring issue, another server went the back and got some after telling the 2 people in front of me that they were out.

Came here on a Friday around 5pm. It wasn't to crowded but by the time we left, they had a great crowd. The food was absolutely delicious. Hot fresh and well worth the price. Nice open seating, very clean. The buffet style options are really good. Not to much to choose from but a great selection of comfort food. Good prices. Service was awesome . If they didn't have what you wanted, they would bring it to your table. I highly recommend.
