I came here on a Friday night and prepare to wait and parking is limited. But despite the wait and parking situation the food was very well worth the wait. I've had my fair share of authentic thai food, coming from California and this has got to be one of the best papaya salad I've had. It was super flavorful with the fish sauce and I really appreciated the generous wedge of cabbage and cucumber slices to help cut the strong flavor. I don't have a high spice tolerance, I ordered level one and I will say it was pretty spicy still. I also ordered the curry noodle and it came with an assortment of toppings. I love this dish, the creamy coconutty curry soup paired really well with the egg noodles. The spicy red snapper was fried to perfection and the seasoning was also very yummy. I did try a small bit so I don't think I had enough to really describe it.

This has become one of my favorite Thai restaurants. The restaurant is spacious with lotsa seatings inside. There is a nice outdoor seating too. I happened to be there on the last day of Eat Drink HTX. I chose the Tom Kha Seafood, and Fried Tofu as first course, Crabmeat Fried Rice, and Crying Tiger as second course. I also got the beef satay because I love satay! The beef satay was tender and cooked perfectly. I liked the sauce but the toast bread did not fit on the plate. The fried tofu was crispy and the peanut sauce was good. Tom Kha seafood broth had a distinct taste which I recognized as laksa. I was surprised that the shrimps in the broth were soft and tender. The dish was good. The crabmeat fried rice was cooked perfectly, and the portion was good for one. I'm not sure why the rib-eye steak dish was called Crying Tiger, but the steak was so tender, cooked to the medium-rare temperature I asked for, and it made me cry for more! The sticky rice was different from the norm. It was so sticky that it was kinda difficult to eat it with the steak. I ended up eating the rice in the remaining Tom Kha seafood broth, which was a perfect combination. All the dishes except the crabmeat fried rice were mild spicy. The service staff were good. They were always present. Parking was tough because there were other restaurants around, and the parking lot is small.

First time here. It was nice that there was no wait time when we arrived in Saturday I really loved the decor. Really felt like I was in Thailand. They have a good happy hour that runs until 7. Curries did not mention tofu but I was able to substitute. The food arrived quickly and was fresh and a good portion size. They also kindly refilled our rice. I would have given 5 stars but I had to flag down a waiter for my check after the family next to us came and went after us. I think he forgot and then I had to flag him down down once again.

Came here late Thursday evening with a friend and we sat immediately. It was a quiet ambiance. The food was really delicious, we shared two plates and it was so good! Can't wait to come back to try more. Definitely try the pad Thai!

Need a neighborhood Thai restaurant that doesn't break the bank, and has cocktails? This is it. Food quality is solid. Staff is very friendly. Apparently it's a popular place, so make a reservation!I came in for a mini date night, had a reservation, and got seated promptly upon arrival. The parking lot was tight... Luckily we got a spot!If you're looking for a Thai place with an uplifting, happy environment and a cheerful crowd, come over here. As mentioned in my pics I posted to Yelp, I tried the Thai Whiskey flight. Be careful! I can hold my alcohol. But I got lit after downing each of the four shots. (Remember, after each shot take a bite of a lime slice and a few pieces of Tamarind... Then move onto the next shot.)If you take a sip of each whiskey shot, it kinda has a Chinese medicine taste. When you shoot it, it's kinda enjoyable. Pretty crazy, huh?

One of our favorite spots for Thai food! My husband and I tried Rim Tanon for the first time a few months ago and have been back several times since then. As an appetizer, the salmon rolls are crispy and delicious. One of my favorite dishes is the khao soi gai, which is made with egg noodles and chicken. The broth is creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. I also really like their pad Thai, which comes with chicken, shrimp, and tofu and has very flavorful noodles. For dessert, I really like the mango sticky rice. The service and ambiance here are great, and there is free parking. We will definitely be back sometime soon!

Rim Tanon is hands down the best Thai restaurant in Houston! I have been frequenting Rim Tanon for almost 5 years now, and I have never had a negative experience at this establishment. The food is always excellent and the service friendly and fast. The restaurant is decorated in brightly colored banners and flags with beautiful one-of-a-kind murals covering the walls and cute but comfortable mix-match chairs at each table. The ambiance is not only inviting but keeps you looking around to see what else can be discovered while you eat. Even the bathrooms are super cute, but be aware they are single person occupancy restrooms!I love Rim Tanon's Pad Thai which is served with shrimp, chicken, and tofu in an egg cocoon, and I almost always order this because I am a creature of habit who likes what I like! However, on this particular trip to Rim Tanon, I decided to try the Khao Soi Gai. This coconut-based curry was super flavorful with the perfect amount of spice (I ordered it at a level 3). It is served with a crispy rice noodle which soaks in the curry and turns smooth and soft - a culinary metamorphosis that happens right in front of your eyes! My partner ordered the Pad Thai (which of course I taste-tested), and it was as delectable as ever! We also had the Lao-style papaya salad which is my partner's favorite appetizer. We never eat at Rim Tanon without ordering it. The papaya salad has fresh papaya, tomato, Thai-eggplant, and more marinated in a spicy fish sauce dressing. Beware - the papaya salad always seems hotter than any other dish we order even if it is ordered at the same spice level as other dishes, so we usually order a spice level down! Our cocktails were also delicious - I ordered the Berry breezy on this trip, but my favorite still remains the lychee martini! My only criticism of Rim Tanon based on my most recent dining experience is that our appetizer and entrees came out at the same time, which made it difficult to enjoy them both equally.Note: Parking can be limited as Rim Tanon shares a lot with three other establishments, so be prepared to circle the lot a few times or park on the street behind the restaurant.

My friend and I had been craving Thai food, so we figured Rim Tanon would be the perfect spot for this month's food tour.I must admit, I was a bit confused when I pulled in because GPS took me to the back lot. It seems like Rim Tanon shares parking with two other restaurants/pubs. We walked in and were quickly seated. For starters, I had the spicy salmon. I wish I could have an entree size portion of this; it was THAT delicious. It wasn't as spicy as I expected/hoped, but the balance between the crispy wonton and salmon was perfect. I don't love onions or tomatoes, but I devoured everything because it fit so beautifully. I was super curious about their shrimp Tom Yum, so I had to try it. The broth was extremely comforting- perfect for a cold, gloomy or sick day. I do wish it came with more shrimp and a different type of mushroom. Although I initially thought the portion was small, this soup with the spicy salmon were deceptively filling. My friend ordered the beef panang curry and we both had the lychee martini. My friend loved her dish but wish there was more rice to balance the ratio of curry. I enjoyed mine as it wasn't overly sweet. The piece of lychee garnish was fun treat post-drink. As it was Easter Sunday the next day, and both of us dreaded going to the store, we ordered to go: I ordered shrimp pad see ew and my friend ordered pad kee mao. My friend loved her meal, and while I did like mine, it was a bit burnt (before reheating). I'd love to try the pad kee mao next time. The one major complaint I have is the service: although seated quickly, it felt as if we were forgotten. We waited an unusual amount of time to order to go. We originally wanted dessert, but lost interest after taking so long to get our server's attention. I'd give 3.5 stars for the dining experience. I think I'd have a higher rating for "to go". PRO TIPS:1. Make a reservation to avoid the wait 2. Happy hour is between 5-7 on weekends 3. Be comfortable with tricky parking. The spaces are quite narrow
