We dine at a new restaurant every week. I was so excited about trying Rian's as I knew it was a new business and we like to support those starting out. We researched the menu, read reviews and got excited about our choices. We arrived to a very friendly hostess and smell. I normally order a cocktail, appetizer and entrée.. just to get a feel of everything. My blueberry lemon drop was very very tasty as was the appetizer. 5 small shrimp for $13My husband ordered oysters and that's were it all went south. Normally condiments come with oysters. Horseradish, a red sauce...something. These came out on a plate...without ice. They were room temperature sliding all over the plate and we had to flag down two different people for lemons, hot sauce, any sauce. They were fishy and he couldn't finish them. I had gumbo...chicken and sausage was to only option and crackers for both oysters and gumbo were very stale. We were only given four packages of crackers each and the owner joked about charging us because we need more. There were 12 oysters and a bowl of gumbo. We need crackers! AT the end of the meal the owner asked how things were. I told him earlier how great my cocktail was but the details on the oysters. He only said "Tell me next time in the mix" as he handed me the $75 bill. It is really a sacrifice and luxury for some to dine out during these times. I think restaurants should do their very best with all of the details to get repeat customers and recommendations... especially when there's restaurants on every corner striving to work hard for business. I do not like to give negative reviews but money is not easy to come by. I have a small business and work very hard for every customer as well as take EVERY piece of feedback very seriously.

Rian's Seafood Grill is a tucked away gem in Rice Military. I came in here with a group on Saturday afternoon, ready to get down on some Louisiana and Gulf coast style seafood. I knew I was going to like this place as soon as I entered. Smooth music blasting and people enjoying themselves over a drink or incredible smelling food. For starters, we ordered a spicy boudin link and the spinach and crab dip. The spicy boudin link was on another level! That's the best boudin I've had on this side of the Sabine River. I almost ordered one more but I already had so much more food coming. They also brought out complimentary crackers to eat with the boudin. The spinach and crab dip was tasty and the chips that came with it were crispy and crunchy, lightly salted and perfect for scooping up the dip. Thicker than a snicker so they didn't break while dipping. Next up was a shrimp po boy with a side of seasoned fries. I enjoyed this take on the po boy. Fully dressed to impress, the shrimp' mayo, lettuce, pickles and tomato hit the spot, sitting in between two pieces of French bread that were crispy on the outside and soft as a pillow on the inside. The fettuccine pasta with chicken was delicious. Creamy and seasoned well, it was hard to stop eating. The shrimp and grits were a winner! Huge Gulf shrimp in cheese grits that were so creamy, I thought I was in a dream. I could eat this for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is a bar in the restaurant where the drinks were flowing and the people were glowing. The waitstaff was impeccable, stopping by several times to check on my party. The co owner stopped by several times as well and we discussed the food and the restaurant. Rian's was an exciting dining experience in a comfortable, lively setting. I'll definitely come back soon to support this business and the great people working here. You should too.

Everything was overly salty. Many of the dishes used the same base sauce. Wanted to like it, but it just didn't hit the mark. Nothing tasted fresh. The decor was an afterthought and the table was wobbly. Friendly staff, though - I'm sure they can find jobs elsewhere once this place fails.

My wife and I were in Houston craving some seafood so we thought we would check this place out. It was too busy, plenty of parking and right away when we walked in we were greeted and seated. Our waiter (which I think was the owner as well) was very polite, helpful and got our drinks fairly quickly. The inside is overall very nice, quite w a few tvs but they aren't blasting so you are able to have conversations w out yelling. The bathrooms are also very clean! The food was amazing. Super well seasoned! The shrimp po boy was top notched. The bread got a bit soggy after awhile which would be my only "complaint" this place is a must try and we will definitely be going back! Thank you Rian's for making our first experience an amazing one!

Amazing food & service from the owners. Best gumbo we've ever had and I'm Cajun and we lived in New Orleans. The praline bread pudding was the perfect ending. The restaurant is clean and cozy. We live far away but will gladly drive up to Houston to dine here again. We've told everyone we know to go.

I was looking for real gulf catfish and a nice cocktail. So I searched Google and Yelp reviews in my area and found RIAN'S. This eatery more than met my expectations, Rodney was very hospitable and explained their menu offerings very well! A couple of "regulars" came in for a quick drink and we made great conversation about their great experiences at RIAN'S as well. They were just opening and preparing for a busy day, but that did stop them from providing excellent service and food. I had the crawfish dip with the house made chips, catfish and crab fried rice. My drinks were the blueberry lemon drop and their version of a good old fashioned! I'll try their sidecar on my next visit. I heard great things about them! I appreciate the great experience and will be back!

So we (my husband and I) attend West End Church and had passed Rian's a few times so finally said 'Eh let's go in for once' for lunch and I'm SO glad we did. Everything was absolutely delicious. We got tbe crawfish queso, frked shrimp platter, fried catfish platter, and the peach cobbler.Everything was perfectly seasoned and portioned. The fries had that perfect crunch. The peach cobbler was so good my husband who doesn't even like peach cobbler helped me finish it. I can't wait to go back and try more.
