"The Triangle constantly surprises me with the variations in food truck foods. There may be a multiple trucks serving the same cuisines, but each seems to have its own specialty.I came across Mesas at a local brewery and was immediately intrigued by the menu. Promoting itself as a Salvadorean food truck but with a Southern twist, the focus was on mesas, pupusas, and, as expected, fried plantains. The namesake mesas: Can't say I've tried these before -- at least locally -- and so I went with them. The three "deep-fried" corn tortillas were not quite what I was expecting -- but in a good way. About the thickness of, but smaller than, an english muffin-half, they were topped with beef, beans, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and cheese. After the first bite, I realized I've been missing these. The tortilla had a slightly crunchy texture on the outside, and a softness in the center. In other words, they're what you'd expect of mesas. The pupusas, mesas, and tacos are all gluten free and because they appear to be the main specialties, they should always be available. The southern twist to the choices, is evident in the pulled pork sandwich that is seasoned with some traditional salvadoran spices. Although I didn't try it, the person I was with did, and he thought it was an interesting spin, but not particularly memorable. I might have to try it myself anyway, just in case."
""Great Mexican street food from a truck"To be clear upfront, we ordered dinner from Tacos Junior using Uber Eats (during the Covid-19 shutdowns), but we appreciated having this option to try an outlet we hadn't before. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and a steak taco. Others in my family got a chicken burrito, a sopa, a pupusa, and other tacos. The quality was high-- the quesadilla was REALLY good and came with a good helping of lettuce and tomatoes on the side, which was nice. The chicken was good quality and the cheese was smooth. What was more impressive was the quantity-- the quesadilla was HUGE... I am a big eater and couldn't finish mine. Everyone in my family was impressed with the size of their dishes: the sopa, pupusa, burrito, etc.The tacos were solid. They came with onions, radish, lime, and a SUPER spicy yet wonderfully flavored green salsa on the side. I think I might slightly prefer the azada tacos at La Vaquita, but these were still quite tasty and reminiscent of ones I've had from street vendors in Mexico.Overall, high quality (nice from a food truck!) and excellent value. We'd happily get this again. And again, nice that there's an Uber Eats order option...PS-- The horchata was tasty too but weirdly transparent in color."

My husband and I split the Korean pork sandwich, roasted pork with eggplant sandwich, arancini (with mushrooms) and fried taties (no pork added). The food was good, our favorites were the arancini and pork sandwich with eggplant. Check them out if you are at a brewery that they coming to."
"Order 2 fried chicken wing plates, & tenders. The sides we picked out were fried okra, mac & cheese, yams, potato salad, and fries. The food was hot, packaged well, the flavor was amazing. The Mac & Cheese was great which is very hard to find lately. The potato salad tasted fresh regardless of the fact that we ordered about 30 minutes before closing. The yams could have been a little sweeter but that's just my personal preference no reason to take off points on the rating. Oh & the wings were fried perfectly they were crunchy, but still juicy and not dry when you bit into them and the flavor was great. Great job! & thank you for the extra silverware, hot sauce and ketchup. Very impressive for a DoorDash delivery I may add."
"I can't believe I've never been to Lumpy's! I've had their ice cream at events around town but here they are, only a few miles from other businesses I frequent. I love ice cream and there are definitely many choices at the grocery store, but there is something special about going to an ice cream shop. Does it enhance the flavor? Maybe not, but smell has been known to (science) and Lumpy's smells of waffle cones and vanilla deliciousness.I've gotten away from visiting local and this Lumpy's visit was part of my efforts to improve. On this Sunday around 2pm it was pretty empty which allowed me to feel comfortable asking to sample a couple flavors before committing (which is welcomed anyway). I sampled Anna's Anise, which was so unique and refreshing but I couldn't see eating a cup of it. My husband sampled Montezumas Revenge, a very spicy chocolate. The nice young man serving us did ask him first if he's ok with spice - he was warned. Even my husband who will dump an entire spice tray on his Thai food said it was legitimately spicy! So again, a very intriguing flavor but not up to an entire cup of it. I ended up with hazelnut coffee which was fantastic and he got Apple Pie, also very tasty. The creamy, icy balance stayed perfect throughout. There were so many choices, and from what I understand, they use local, natural ingredients. I will be back to try more of the regular offerings along with seasonal flavors. The inside of the shop is simple, not trendy or themed, just lots of nods to the Lumpy's brand and the Wake Forest area. You can feel the love here. There is a small parking lot and it's also walkable from White Street."
"Y'all ain't even know how much money I've spent on the #5 breakfast burrito at City Bus (currently known as Taco King USA , until he gets his other bus fixed up). The location is in the parking lot right in front of Carolina Detail place. Mac or Emilio, the owner of the bus handles the monetary transactions while his wife does the cooking. He sells a variety of tacos, burritos, tortas, drinks, etc.I cannot talk enough about the #5 breakfast burrito which contains chorizo (Mexican sausage), bacon, eggs , rice , and beans. Get that green sauce too. Ughh. PS. He is consistently closed on Mondays, but is typically there everyday from 8PM-2AM (even though his hours state otherwise). He is sometimes closed on certain days when he has catering events, although there is no social media coverage when he's not gonna be there . I'm still addicted to his food though. Gah these burritos smack."
"Soul food is my favorite kind of food! I don't come here often but when I do I feel like I am at home. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is gooood! Each day they have a different special. I love their chicken and dumplings, candied yams and collards! The cook cooks with love and you can taste it in each bite. The inside is small but comforting. There is plenty of parking and the prices are very affordable"
"This truck is typically on the corner of Holly Springs and Penny Road but we tried them at Black Dog Bottle Shop. I ordered a hot dog with all of my favorite toppings with a bag of chips and my husband ordered the Italian Beef sandwich. I wasn't expecting much but the food was so good. I can't wait to try a few other menu items."
"Fishin' Shrimp catered the Friends of the Renaissance Centre event so I did not have a food truck experience. We had fried cod; shrimp cocktail; roasted potatoes; pasta salad; coleslaw and a veggie tray to select from. The food was cooked perfectly and delicious. I don't know about the prices as I didn't pay. But I will be on the lookout for the food truck."
"Food Truck Time: Off the HogI've been late with writing this review, I tried this food truck a few weeks ago. I ordered the pulled pork plate with bourbon baked beans and cole slaw. I was able to try a few bites of the mac & cheese from my moms plate too. The food was okay, I've had better barbecue from other food trucks. It looks like they are newer so I'm hoping to try them again soon."
"Food Truck Time: Bam Pow Chow @ the Railhawks gameI was super excited to try Bam Pow Chow because the menu looked very appetizing. I ordered the Fried Red Tomato Sliders with an avocado sauce and corn relish. This came with 2 sliders for $7, you can add an order of french fries for an additional $2 (if you love waffle fries then you will definitely want to do this). The food tasted great, I would recommend this food truck."
"I had been reading and seeing pics on Instagram and the bowls looked delish, so when the truck was outside my gym I couldn't resist. I bought two bowls, one for hubby and one for me. Both were amazingly delicious, a regular was almost too much as a breakfast/lunch, but I loved every spoonful. Super delicious and super fresh. The staff were pleasant but they could have used a little more southern friendliness. One last comment is that I could not find any calorie counts anywhere. I would guess over 500 but it's just a guess. I will certainly return."

Food Truck Time: Mesas at Vicious FishesWe saw that Mesas was nearby so we headed over to Vicious Fishes in Apex to give this food truck a try. My husband and I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries, tacos and plantains. The tacos were just okay, I would recommend ordering something else. But, the rest of the food was good. The overall experience was more of a 2.5 star rating since the food was a tad greasy and we didn't feel the best afterwards.

Our first & second time trying this truck. Food is ok but on the pricey end and so-so service.1st time - Food was ok - had a strange smell initially but tasted fine. We tried the huaraches with barbacoa - was overpriced at 1.5x the normal price at other taco trucks in the area. Quality was ok / on par with other taco trucks I have tried. Had a weird service experience with some passive aggressiveness from the lady who took our order so that was not the best.2nd time - charged $15 + tax and tip for a torta. Torta was good but this felt exorbitant. Not sure if times have just changed but wish the menu prices were readily available/visible so customers can make an informed decision.

Delicious and unique fare at this local food truck.Online ordering easy using Streetfinder app. Food ready on-time and piping hot, service welcoming and friendly. The menu is pork-centric, featuring several varieties of thinly pounded pork chops. Tried 2 of them. The first is a char grilled boneless pork chop, topped with pickled peppers, arugula. It's served on ciabatta bread, slathered with a sambal-based aioli. The meat is tender and moist, the aioli just spicy enough to stimulate the taste buds. The second is Korean-marinated pork, topped with pickled carrots, Korean radish & cilantro. The marinate adds a touch of sweetness, which contrasts beautifully with the tangy pickled carrots and tart radish.Shout out to the arancini (deep fried risotto balls). Golfball sized dollops of soft, creamy, cheesy risotto are breaded and deep friend golden brown. Crunchy outside, succulent on the inside, 4 to the serving. Yum! A variety of delicious and unique offerings. Check out this food truck when you see them. Good stuff!

I wish I could do more stars!! I had Lumpy's many years ago and was the best homemade ice cream I ever had. Still today they continue to hold the title. Staff is really nice! There was a car in the handicap and I have a disability that affects my walking. The owner(I kind of remember that mustache) came and helped me in. Store nice and clean. Store all alone with plenty of parking. Very visible . Make sure you go or book it. You won't regret it!!

So freaking good. There are a few picnic tables in the parking lot to munch after ordering. Tacos are packed with filling but notably lack chopped onions. It comes with grilled onions and there is also a self serve pickled onions container. I couldn't find prices for half the menu, and I think each taco is over three dollars. However, the price is justified considering the large chunks of high quality meat in each. Highly recommend loading on the pickled onions. The lime was juicy and meats were tender. They also do not open at 6:30pm. We came at 7pm, knowing they didn't open at 6:30pm and they arrived around 7:15 and took a bit of time to set up. Worth the wait for me!

I picked up a Togo order here and it was delicious. They do have indoor seating and a parking lot. had an oxtail plate and Oreo cake on Caribbean Sunday. I think that prices are decent for the portions served. I can't speak too much on service since I ordered pickup, but our order was ready when we arrived.

We came across Capones Chicago Eats and knew we had to stop...and we were not disappointed. We both got the Italian beef. Sweet peppers for the hubs and without for me. The only way to get it is wet. Not dipped, not moist. But wet. Like drip down your arms with juicy goodness wet. lol Trust me on this. They have outdoor seating which I think is awesome considering they set up in a lot at the corner of Holly Springs Road and Penny Road. They make their own beef for the sandwiches so it is never frozen. Overall it has good flavor but we both felt like there was something missing that we just couldn't put our finger (or taste buds) on. All I know is we will definitely be going back soon!
Visit Restaurant Page"First visit pretty darn impressive. The young lady taking orders literally came out of the business to invite us to try their food. We just ordered a rack of ribs (no sides) and were not disappointed! Good portion size and what I especially liked was they grilled quickly the ribs before saucing to give them a hint of a charred flavour - nice touch! Very small establishment set up for take out only and that's a good thing. Check these folks out!"
"Food Truck Time: Merkato Cafe at Cotton House This Ethiopian food truck hit the spot. I recommend ordering the Merkato special so you can enjoy a little bit of everything."
"Food Truck Time: 454 Grill at Jordan Lake Brewing CompanyGood food truck with a very chill owner. The home fries were my favorite of the night, they were both good and cooked to perfection. I was not a fan of the margherita melt though, I did not like the tomato sauce. But, I can't wait to try a few other sandwiches from this food truck."
"Phenomenal food truck with fresh, hot, and flavorful food with wonderful customer service. We went to a comedy show at Mordecai Beverage Co. and Berto's Chimi was there. We had the original and yuca fries. Would highly recommend it if you have the chance to stop by their truck. We will definitely order from here again."
"Fantastic flavor combos! The crispy fish taco doesn't disappoint with a large piece of fish on a corn tortilla with cabbage and some secret sauce. The fried avocado taco was out of the park! Spectacularly balanced flavor with a bit of a kick against the gorgeous creaminess of the avocado. If you pass on this food truck, your taste buds may never forgive you."
"Totally worth it to find this food truck! We always visit them at the CE Barnes store but I know they travel the area frequently. The Nutella strawberry waffle is insanely delicious! I am not big on waffles, but this has got to be the best waffle I've ever eaten. Coffee is ok; it sets off the waffle, but the food is where it's at. I'll have to try some of their breakfast options next tome we stop by."
"Food Truck Time: Kat-n-Around Authentic German FoodThis did the trick to cure my craving for German food. The owner, Kat, is very sweet. I ordered a curry brat and potato cake topped with applesauce, cinnamon and sugar. The brat was delicious, I loved the flavor of the curry. The potato cake was good as well but I was a tad disappointed that the applesauce was a Mott's cup. This truck used to be cash only but they take cards now!"
"Paco's Tacos usually sits on E Williams St in Apex in the area where Apex Wings is located. I stopped here to pick up lunch on a Sunday afternoon and had a good experience. Tacos range from $2.25-$3/each. They also have a few other menu items. My husband chose 2 fish tacos, an asada taco and a side of rice and I chose the campechana torta and an asada taco. All of the food was good. My only complaint was that some of the steak pieces were tough. If you are really hungry I recommend a torta, they are huge. This food truck is worth checking out if you are in the area."
"OK brisket sandwich from this food truck.Brisket seemed more like it was simmered than smoked. Was very juicy and tender, but a little too mushy. It was flavorful and lean. Cup of BBQ sauce (you have to ask for it) was tangy and delicious. Sandwich served on a potato roll. Mac n cheese was creamy, cheesy and excellent. Slaw was a vinegar based, and somewhat bland.Overall, this was an OK meal. Nothing special. Maybe ordering earlier in the day would yield a better cut of brisket?"
"From the outside, Grandotes Taco Grill appears to be just another Mexican themed food truck but once you take your first bite the truth is in the flavor! My husband was competing in the 2017 North Carolina's Strongest Man and Woman Strongman competition inside the Dolton Area and was in need of a decent meal in between events. The Grandotes Taco Grill food truck was well kept and visually appealing from the outside making it an acceptable choice for lunch. Once I saw the menu and multiple happy customers enjoy their food, I knew I had hit the jackpot! Each item we ordered included fresh ingredients, appropriate amounts of seasoning, and was cooked to perfection! Two carnitas tacos, two pollo tacos, and two orders of chips with salsa later, my husband and I were full and ready to finish the competition! While this was an unexpected meal, we truly enjoyed their menu items and would return again to their truck location for another delicious taco or two!"
"Update- they added fried salmon bites to the menu and now our official regular order is one plate with curry goat with rice and mac and another with fried salmon bites with yams and mac. The goat and salmon are both divine. Huge portions, hot, flavorful, enough food for up to 4 people, you get your money's worth, and extremely satisfying."
"Our experience at damn good dogs is going to be one keeping me coming back for more, especially since we will be in High Point a little more with the children's museum membership. We stopped in because we had our three year old with us and their menu is very kid friendly. My husband got a hot dog, I got a burger, we split fries with damn good sauce and cheese over top, and my daughter got a grilled cheese. My husband said his hot dog was good but y'all thus burger!!! Go to damn good dogs for the burger. It's a perfectly juicy, saucy, well seasoned smash burger and I ate every last bite of my double. I also got the damn good sauce on my fries and it definitely leveled them up. I love the atmosphere of the stock and grain food hall and the service at damn good dogs was friendly and efficient - we got our food fast and fresh just like we like it. Although on the pricey side, this is a spot I will frequent while in high point for sure!"
"My family and I had the opportunity to Grab CRAVE to go and it was great. We took of advantage of their $2 hot dogs + 2 free toppings and it came with a chips and a drink! We ordered one plain, one with ketchup and one with chili + Cole slaw and we thought it was delicious! The staff is very nice and welcomed us into the store! The restaurant was clean and the drinks were fresh! I love that the restaurants has multiple TVs which would be perfect for sports games. For parking the parking lot can fill up quickly but there is a parking deck connected to the shopping center that you can us! We look forward to going back because we heard that the hot sausage is delicious. Overall solid restaurant in a great location"
"Sweet Heat Sauce is amazing!!!! The food was absolutely amazing, one of my new favorite food trucks. The food was piping hot, delicious and the service was impeccable. The prices were phenomenal and you got plenty of food for the price. All three dishes were fantastic and my photos don't even do justice."
"I had been passing this food truck for days on my way to visit my dad in hospice down the road. When I saw it open again, I got two orders of powdery goodness. I was so happy with the fresh beignets that looked fantastic and smelled even better. Paid it forward with a tip for the hard working crew of the truck, and a box for the reception desk on the way to sharing a last breakfast with my dad. We could have been sitting outside Cafe DuMonde in Jackson Square-these were that good! Thank you Mr A for a special moment, and some special beignets"
"Food Truck Time: MoonRunners Truck at Bombshell Beer CompanyMoonRunners Saloon in Garner can be quite the hike for some so now there is a food truck for you to try. The truck features Jon Taffer since the restaurant was on the show Bar Rescue [as it was previously failing as Characters Quarters but is now a success story for the show]. The catfish on a stick and chips was only $8, this menu selection was both filling and good. I also really liked the baja corn nuggets; however, they are $9 and very overpriced in my opinion. In the end, this truck has a wide variety of opens so check it out."
"Food Truck Time: Hot Box Pizza at Southern Peak BreweryThis food truck is serving up Neapolitan wood-fired pizzas. All of the pizzas are 10 inches. My mom and I liked the flavor and fresh ingredients so much that we decided to order a second pepperoni with honey pizza. If this food truck is around your area you should definitely check it out."
"I hate to do it, but I can only give Mr. Wingz and Mrs. Thingz two out of five stars ("Could've been better"). This humble, "mom and pop" food truck, serving the Triangle area, celebrated its two-year anniversary back in November 2020. The truck visited our apartment complex.I ordered a six-count of chicken wings ($8) and "boneless bites" ($7). For the six-count, I ended up getting a combo ($11) with no drink. Combos come with a drink, but they didn't tell me to grab a drink when I picked up my order. I didn't know I was charged for and picked up a combo until after we got home and I opened the boxes. Also, they asked me what sauce I wanted. I didn't realize sauce cost extra. The menu said "extra sauce" costs $0.25 each. The menu should be corrected to say just "sauce." The word "extra" should be removed - it's misleading. The wings didn't look nor taste impressive. They were cheap, bottom-of-the-barrel wings, like wings from one of those old Chinese buffets. They weren't terrible, but they weren't good/great either. I expect more out of a food truck. I got the wings with lemon pepper seasoning. Here, it's a dry rub (not lemon pepper wet). I was also told they have a Parmesan dry rub that wasn't listed on the menu. All the other flavors were wet (sauce). There was barely any lemon pepper seasoning/flavor on the wings. Disappointing. Also, the wings tasted a little overcooked, a bit dry, and they weren't very meaty. The fries were fine, cut with some potato skin left on. A little soggy. They were appetizing when dipped into the ranch dressing. The boneless bites looked like pieces of tofu. They tasted better than they looked. I got the bites with hot sauce. As a spicy food lover, I didn't find the hot sauce to be hot at all. It was mild at best. However, I did think the bites were fairly tasty. The meat was more tender and moist than I had anticipated from the looks of things. Like the fries, each bite tasted more appetizing when dipped into ranch. There were about 8-10 bites in my order, some pieces a little bigger than others.Mr. Wingz and Mrs. Thingz also sells chicken sandwiches, Philly cheesesteaks, quesadillas, chicken tenders, hot dogs, hamburgers, fry variations (e.g. garlic-Parm fries, chili cheese fries), and your standard bags of chips like Cheetos, Funyuns, and Doritos. At the time of our visit, combos were $11 each (includes fries and a drink) and most a la carte items were $6-8 each.Aside from the mix-up with my order, service was fine. Like other food trucks, the business uses Square for transactions so I had my itemized receipt automatically emailed to me.Compared to most other food trucks, Mr. Wingz and Mrs. Thingz is low-budget. It's an old white truck - looks like it was once a taco truck - that shows some wear, especially on the menu with items blacked or whited out and prices stickered over. It's the opposite of one of those shiny, fancy, expensive-looking trucks."
"Great owner and great food! This truck was recommended to me by a coworker. I was told the cheat code was to call and order ahead. She took my torta de asada and horchata order and asked how long I would be, told her 10-15 minutes. When I got there my order was ready. She does take card/apply pay, which made it very convenient! The torta was HUGE, the size of my head...or even bigger probably! The horchata was sweet and refreshing. Definitely stop by and support Lily's!"
"It's the best taco truck in a town lousy with them. I am partial to the chorizo and the barbacoa. My high schooler loves the lengua. Food takes a little time to come out but that's just because they make it fresh."
"Food Truck Time: Qspresso at the Downtown Raleigh Food Truck RodeoFresh and delicious food, Boyfriend and I were very impressed with this food truck. Went with an order of the Chicken Empanadas and Maduros, both tasted fantastic. Definitely recommend and I can't wait to try a few other menu options."
"This food was amazing! Fresh, hot, and quick. Look, you know this food is good, when customers are in the parking lot telling you what to order! This was my first time stopping by, I was in the area and decided to stop. Its a small food truck, with bright colors. There is plenty of parking as it was located in the parking lot of Food Lion and Home Depot off of Six Forks Rd. We decided on the recommended cuban sandwich, steak sandwich, and croquettes. It came to about $32 before tip. Not one thing we order disappointed! The cuban sandwich is Miami style, for reference. The croquette were perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Paired with a savory dipping sauce that was a great add!Oh and let me not forget that steak sandwich...my my my just try it. Try it all =)"
"Delicious, fresh, flavorful! Got the steak and chorizo tacos, rice, and soup. All were very good, but the spicy sauce added just enough extra kick for me. I recommend it if you're interested in authentic Mexican eats."
