"I wish I could give 92 Chicken more stars but it's sort of just adequate. I'm a fan of Korean fried chicken and wanted to see what 92 Chicken would be offering up. And it's solid but not exceptional. Up front, 92 Chicken sits in the old space that used to house Vit Goal. It's a smallish, run-down plaza but I'm good with that since you can find some hidden gems in places like this. Inside, 92 Chicken is pretty bare-bones with some chicken themed decor and a basic dining room with 2 and 4-tops. For sure the family running the business is Korean but I believe it's part of a chain.I order up some KFC drums and fries and it's solid but feels like just basic fried chicken with some commercial sauces on top. I think this business probably does a solid take-out, delivery option but for dine-in you can certainly do better. If you live in the hood, certainly stop on by but I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here again..."
"Not bad yard bird at The Chicken Barn. We stopped when in the area today. The place had a strong A health grade. The service was friendly but very slow. The fried chicken was good but not spectacular. The sides of biscuits and fries were fine. The fried chicken livers and fried chicken tenders were the table favorites. I would not drive out of my way to visit but would certainly visit again if in the area."
"Great local spot for north Carolina cooking, they have all kinds of entree, different types of bbq, roasted turkey wings, fried chicken and etc. Long line during lunch so you know locals like it. Their gravy is very salty so beware. Interior is old asf, the whole strip mall is outdated but you don't have to dine in. Most people order to go and enjoy the food at the comfort at their home."
"I recently moved into the area and I tried Smithfield's for the first time. I went through the drive through and ordered the combo white which comes with fried chicken, pulled pork, hushpuppies and 2 sides. All of my food was hot and tasty. I have not tried any of their bbq sauces yet but I will get around to it. Also, if you want ketchup for your fries, you will need to ask for it. Otherwise, none will be in your bag. I have already returned about 2 or 3 times over the past week while getting settled into and unpacking my new home. I will definitely be returning in the near future."
"Decent fish and chicken place.Had the combination fried whiting and clam strips dinner, with sides (there are a number to choose from) of potato salad and fried okra. Good food and the portion size was nearly enough for two people."
"I stopped at the Smithfield's in Wilson North Carolina. It was during coronavirus. Normally when I'm going through North and South Carolina I stop at the little mom and pop barbecue places. I was a bit pressed for time today and Smithfield's was close to where I was refueling. I was very, very pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness, the friendliness, and the overall service. Plus the food was hot and tasty and for a pork barbecue sandwich, A huge order of french fries and a Coke it was about nine dollars. It seems like an extraordinarily good value to me. Plus they were taking all the prescribed precautions for coronavirus. This is definitely worth a stop if you're going up and down I 95 and want a hot and tasty barbecue meal."
"If you're searching for a fast-food dinner that doesn't taste like fast food, look no further than Smithfield's. We were regular customers at the Hwy 42 store, and were happy to find one just over yonder when we moved to our new home in Goldsboro last week. Hot, tired, cranky and hungry, it was great to get the next best thing to home cookin'!Smithfield's serves up fresh, crispy fried chicken, hush puppies, pulled pork, Brunswick Stew, potato salad, baked beans - all the best southern homestyle for a reasonable price. There's a plate or a family sized-box sure to cure your hungries, and it tastes like your mama's or grandma's best Sunday dinner. Customer service is outstanding, and they'll make you feel like family at every visit. I've never had a bad experience anytime, anywhere - they'll meet your standards no matter which store you walk into. If you're having a party, unexpected company, having a bad day and need comfort food, or are just too tired to cook, Smithfield's Chicken and 'cue can take care of you. I highly recommend the Tailgate Special with Bar-B-Q; it feeds the four of us with plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. Their pulled pork is Carolina classic, and so is the Brunswick Stew. Enjoy, and bring your appetite."
"This place made me feel like I was home. And I'm not even from NC. My grandma didn't make our food, but it was made with so much love I would've thought she did. The chicken is crispy, seasoned, and the hush puppies got right in me greatly. Great food for the price and filled with southern love. Love from Jerry."
"I ordered the chicken and shrimp combo. The line was long but quick, we came in with a busload of men and a sprinkle of wives who were attached to the hip of their husbands.Anyway, the service was quick and the food was hot! The chicken was seasoned, crispy, hot and delicious. The shrimp were itty, bitty, baby shrimp like you would find in a cheap shrimp fried rice. Hot fires and sticky baked beans. Overall I give this meal a 6 out of 10. The service here was exceptional, fast, polite, and service at your table! The ambiance was your typical diner-style atmosphere. Overall service is 9 out of 10. Ambiance 4 out of 10 nothing special."
"We always get our fried chicken fix at Smithfields.Since there is not one near our house, any time we travel and there is one near us, we always stop in.Friendly counter service. Chatted with the guy at the register to find out he was from Charlotte NC and was headed back this fall to go to school. Also found out both he and I both fish at Lake Norman.Wife and I get the same thing each time. Her 2 pc dark with baked beans and I the 2 pc white with brunswick stew.We both love the fried chicken here. Crispy, flavorful non greasy skin with moist tender chicken inside. The eastern NC vinegar dip on the table compliments both the chicken and the stew. The sweet tea was spot on, being just sweet enough with out being so sweet as to put you in a diabetic coma.We tried the banana pudding for dessert and this is the only time Smithfields has ever failed us. This was not even close to true southern banana pudding. Just banana flavored pudding with no bananas and very, very mushy vanilla wafers. Won't ever order that again. But as far as the fried chicken goes, like I said we always stop to eat anytime we see a Smithfields in our travels."
"Yes, they are that good! I got the qty:2 protein salad with chicken and lamb. I really enjoyed the all the flavors and toppings added fluffy yellow rice sitting at the bottom. I would definitely return again."
"Stopped in for my first Smithfield's experience. We passed by and my husband asked if I'd ever been and when I said no, he whipped a Uturn and pulled in. My first thought was "this is a local small town bojangles". First and foremost these may be the best fries I've ever had. They were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. I went with the dark meat platter and my husband got the chicken tender snack tray. You can go through the drive through or go in and order. You order at the counter for take out or sit down. The menu isn't lengthy but I see that as they stick to what they know they're good at."

This place has got to be one of my favorite places to go to in Durham for fried chicken. The place reminds me of Bonchon, which is another chain that sells Korean-style fried chickens. I couldn't make up my mind on whether to get the soy garlic chicken or the spicy garlic chicken so I ended up getting both. Lol. I ended up loving both! What I like about the establishment is that it is clean and the owners were friendly. I will definitely be back for more the next time I am back in town!

I officially know that i had never had good fried chicken until I met Chicken Barn. New Yorker passing through, and we searched online for saw this place was good, plus they had a drive-through. We took the chicken back to the hotel and the first bite made me pause so long because of how tender the meat was, and how perfectly crispy the skin was. Also worth knowing that the chicken wasn't oily. How do they do it? Why can't NY'ers have fried chicken like this? If you're in the area, defo try the fried chicken here. We ordered white meat, but I suspect the dark meat is pretty good too. The biscuit was light, and perfect. But the chicken is the star.

Very yummy soul food.I loved the cheesy broccoli and cheese, Mac & cheese, hamburger w gravy, hush puppies, turkey wings were a little tough but had nice seasoning, and iced tea. The line was long but worth it. They give you a lot of food, good lord! We will be back.

Now when I'm in the south, I must get my hands on some good ole 'Sweet Tea'. I love me sum good sweet tea. Enter Smithfield's. I was turned onto this delicious sugar infused tea while in NC. The best part about their sweet tea is that is it is so sweet that I must dilute it with water - so the Gallon Iced Tea lasts FOREVER... SCORE!! I also tried the BBQ Sandwich w/ side of Cole slaw (xtra packets of red sauce). The vinegar based BBQ was in huge chunks of flavorful pulled pork. Delicious - SCORE!!! As a side, I had the Baked Beans. They were swimming in this brown sugar sauce and they were absolutely delicious. Really nice side. SCORE!!!As an aside, the young man @ register was incredibly polite and very helpful. He even brought my food out to me. When I reminded him it was a 'to go' order, he turned around came back and packaged everything right at the table, apologizing profusely for the mix up. No worries. He was excellent! For a fast food place, I was highly impressed with the overall service / food received. I'll be back...

I will give them two stars only because the fried okra was really good but that is where the goodness ends. The soupy mac and cheese was not good at all. Yes I said soupy and it did not taste anything like mac and cheese. The shrimp had a sharp fishy taste; and I am not one of those people that complains about seafood tasting like seafood but the sharp taste threw me off. The flounder was not good, fried with flour (not an issue in itself, if the fish wasn't soggy), and beware of bones. Disappointing.

My family and I have been here a lot since they opened. We decided to go through the drive thru on the way home and pick up dinner for us and the kids. The kids meals were right but my combination white meat plate was lacking. There was maybe 1/2 to 3/4 of a cup of barbecue on the plate and it was wet and soggy and full of fat. This isn't the first time this has happened and for a $10 plate you'd expect more than this. I actually got more hush puppies than my barbecue and either side.

Deducted 1 star because NC style barbecue sauce is just god awful and it's all they have here. Even the "red barbecue sauce" I tried to order tasted like straight vinegar. The exit where this Smithfield's is located is one of the last good stops in the drive from Raleigh to Wilmington and unlike the other places around, Smithfield's is one of the few sit-down places. With a large restaurant with plenty of long tables, it's great for a group. You order at the front and you listen to your number to pick up your food and sit. Prices are reasonable ($8-10 for most plates/platters) but the plates are humongous and I wish there were slightly smaller options for people who can't finish 3 huge chicken tenders and three sides. Food was cooked to order but still kind of seemed like they were popping frozen chicken into a fryer and there was a lot of extra fat in the tenders. Fries and hushpuppies were the standouts, with the hushpuppies light & fluffy inside. Baked beans were forgettable but at least not vinegar based like everything else. Sweet tea was basically pure sugar and needed to be cut with lots of unsweetened tea to be palatable. Brunswick stew that my friend ordered was the most reasonably portioned item but really just seemed like all the meats this place cooks thrown together in an unappetizing-looking tomato-based stew. I would not come here again by choice, but it did fit the need of having something passable to eat from a clean restaurant right off the exit when we needed it.
Visit Restaurant Page"First visit here on 10/9/20. We went through their busy but fast drive thru. My son wanted their hotdog kid's meal, but the cashier said they don't serve hotdogs. Why is it on the ordering board then? Anyway, luckily he's not picky. Lol. He got a chicken strip kid's meal instead which was not listed on the order board. They were adhering to social distancing inside as well as in the drive thru. After paying at the window, I had to pull up to an orange cone to have my order brought out to me. The guy was really fast. I appreciated that. Our food was fresh. I ordered 2 chicken wings and shrimp basket. I didn't know the shrimp were popcorn shrimp. I expected for that price for them to be medium sized at least. Our food was fresh and very tasty though. Next time I will just order chicken. The shrimp costs too much for the small amount they give. The restaurant is nestled in a busy parking lot next to a gas station and Sonic. People can't drive, so be very careful. We will be back for sure."
"The food was amazing. Tried there pulled pork sandwich for the first time. LOVED IT!!!! very polite helpful young staff unlike other places out here. Food is good and restaurant was very clean."
"OMG, we loved Kings - definitely a must stop if you're in the area.I ordered a couple of Chix Thighs that came with one of their delicious Cat Head Cheese biscuits, also a side of Hush Puppies and a small Sweet Potato Pie.Super nice staff, huge menu and delicious southern food. Everything was so yummy and definitely the best sweet potato pie I've ever had. So yep, we'll be back, next time we're in NC."
"This is a cheerful, unexpected restaurant in the strip mall in the same parking lot as Lowes. My friend and I split the ceviche mixto (mixed seafood ceviche) that came with sweet potato chips and chicarron mixto (fried seafood platter) that came with tostones and yuca. Everything tasted fresh and good. The waitress was helpful and friendly. There was a small sign on the table with Peruvian words and their definitions and facts about Peru. There were also beautiful pictures on the wall of Peru. I went to Peru a long time ago and this restaurant makes me want to go back!I"
"Quick, convenient stop to get BBQ. I always opt for the Value Pack - a BBQ sandwich with coleslaw, hushpuppies instead of fries and a Sprite. My husband ordered a pint of brunswick stew (it's buy one, get one free). The service was friendly and the food was great here."
"This was first time visiting Smithfield's and the service was top notch not to mention the food was great. George was very helpful in completing my catering order on such short notice. I give them five stars all around and I would highly recommend the restaurant."
"Came here to order a box of chicken to go. Hush puppies came with the chicken. Potato salad was creamy but did not get big chunks of potatoes. The fried chicken was very tender and plump, and the skin was crispy and full of flavor."
"Pollo Campero is an absolute gem in Raleighwood. It slightly reminds me of Pollo Tropical in FL because it's the only place I've ever known to be able to get maduros (sweet plantains) in the drive thru. Both the fried chicken and grilled chicken are juicy and cooked to perfection, but the grilled is my favorite because it has a limey taste. Their empanadas are also great because they aren't too heavy. They remind me of a light version of a cream cheese wonton, but with chicken, corn, and cheese and a lighter shell. I also love the campero rice and beans. The 20 piece value meal is also something you can't beat. After tax it comes to $50ish bucks but you get 20 pieces of chicken (I would recommend asking for half fried and half grilled), 4 sides, and bread. My one star dock is for service because I used the drive thru and although they were fast, they forgot to include the bread rolls im my family value meal."
"This was my first time in North Carolina and I stopped by Smithfield's on a whim because I was so hungry.Never heard of this place but I saw BBQ & Chicken on the sign so I walked right in.Excuse my inexperience with this brand or being on the East coast but I loved that there was a hand washing sink right when you walked in. Can I get an Amen from another germaphobe??I asked the young man at the register what I should order and he recommended the BBQ sandwich w/ coleslaw. It was a sweet pulled pork and apple cider slaw but it was delicious. Didn't even use any of the BBQ sauce because it was so moist.Fries were ok- reminded me of McDonald's fries.I was still hungry so I came back for a couple of fried chicken thighs (which are my favorite part of the chicken). I rarely eat fried chicken so I especially savor it when I do and this was really good stuff. Tons of breading and great flavor!Wished I had saved room for dessert but next time.Service was great and friendly and lots of "Yes Ma'am""
"Great fast service. barbecue was fresh and flavorful. I could eat a handful of hush puppies! The fried chicken is very crispy and juicy. Also, love the sweet tea."
"China King is our go-to when we're craving Chinese Takeout. They have some great deals in their "Special Value Meals" list and some really good tofu options. Overall, it is definitely not healthy, but your typical greasy delicious and huge portion sizes! We've never had an issue with calling in our orders, although they always are less than enthused while on the phone. I personally love their veggie lo mein and always order that as a side, sometimes a small, other times a large when I really really want a lot of leftovers. Either way, we always get at least two meals out of one order. I would definitely suggest China King as a great takeout place for anyone in downtown Durham and north Durham."
"I really like this location. It's brand new, not overly crowded, and all of the workers are very friendly. I always place my order online via the app and you can either pick up your order inside or at the drive-thru."
"I have stopped in various locations but never left a review. Swung into the Nashville, NC location on the way back from the OBX this trip. They are know for the pulled pork BBQ and fried chicken. I always get the same thing, a pulled pork sandwich, fries, and an iced tea. I get the regular sized sandwich as the large is just too much. You order at the counter and then pick up when they call your number. The dining room is rather large and a cut above most fast food places. The fried chicken looked really good. I may try it next trip."
"Since the opening of H-Mart, many Korean fried chicken (KFC) restaurants have opened and closed. I really hope that Chicken Bee will be successful. It has become my favorite KFC in the Triangle since I moved to Durham.I was so happy to see that they have a booth in the H-Mart food court. I ordered a 6-piece wing meal, which is one of the few meals you can get for under $10. The wings were just as delicious as I remembered! The crispiness of the wings was perfect, and the flavor was always consistent. The staff at Chicken Bee are so kind and friendly. I appreciate the quality customer service that they provide. I hope that Chicken Bee will be successful in the H-Mart food court."
"If you're craving some Southern BBQ comfort, look no further! This place was absolutely perfect. Inexpensive and a nice taste of the south. 10/10 recommend!"
"Pretty solid lunch, fresh and well prepared... a little messy, but tasty enough to make up for it. Counter service was efficient, you can also order via QR code on the tables. Facility was open, bright and clean. Looking forward to trying the other sandwiches and tenders next time."
"We recently visited this location while we were home visiting family for the holidays (I currently live in the greater Atlanta, Georgia area but am originally from Fayetteville, NC). It's hard to find good Eastern NC style BBQ in GA and so I decided to fill my craving by coming here.Everything was excellent. The service was even above and beyond in my opinion - our food was brought out to us, but I was expecting them to just call my name to come up to the counter to pick it up.I almost never see this level of service and friendliness anywhere anymore so was very impressed. It's also not far from my mom's place so I'm sure we'll be back whenever we come home to visit."
"After walking around for a few minutes at the Durham Food Hall, I decided on Patty Boy. The gentleman who helped me was very nice and understanding and worked with me to order the chicken tender meal. The meal originally came with three chicken tenders, slaw, tater tots, and Texas toast. Instead of the Texas toast, I got another slaw. The gentleman told me how the batter for the chicken was made in house daily, so I was so excited! This excitement ended when I saw and tasted the chicken tenders. They were super small and dry, and the batter had no flavor. I thought the saving grace would be the slaw, but this again had no flavor. Surprisingly, it was the tater tots that saved the day, but you can only eat so many.Well, I will have to pass on eating here again--I've had better chicken tenders at Chili's. Three stars for the customer service."
"Stopped on the way to Hopfly, Great takeout fried chicken quick drive thru, order was correct no issues if your in downton rocky mount good option for good chicken meal to take to the mills to enjoy. You wont get this quality for the price at the mill."
"Chicken Salad Chick recently opened in Raleigh, NC so that means no more drives to Cary for chicken or egg salad. It is behind where the McDonald's was on Lake Boone.I didn't plan to stop on the second day opened but when driving home I decided to stop. I wasn't sure what the parking situation would be but it wasn't too bad. The outside seating and dumpsters do take up some of the parking spots. The staff is friendly and someone is near the registers to greet you. There are menus near the door too. I'm not sure I like this layout of the restaurant though as when you walk in you walk into the dining area here and nowhere to view the menu without disturbing those eating. Then after ordering to go you basically wait in the dining area too so you are right near those dining in.I ordered egg salad and the three chicken salads with fruit. Then got the grape salad with both meals. I did get a free water bottle for the second day giveaway. They have different giveaways all week."
"This bbq is the real deal, so juicy and tender. While I was there, I saw people of all races come in to order and the staff was constantly on the go. Great bbq sandwich, added some baked beans and hushpuppies for sides. Wish I lived close enough to eat here often!"
"Our best oriental restaurant in town! Always open when everyone else is closed on holidays, Lams has great food, good prices and helpful service. Good parking and always very busy."
"We finally tried this restaurant. While I was expecting a variety of pork selections, this restaurant offers bbq pork, fried chicken and shrimp selections. Hushpuppies are sweet with minimal seasoning. Pork is vinegar based. Coleslaw is roughly chopped slightly vinegary but nothing overpowering. Definitely will be back. I'm"
