"It's so hard to find a real chile relleno around here, and I got excited when I read their menu online that described what sounded like a real one indeed and mentioned that it was roasted in the oven. So off we went on a recent Friday night. We were greeted and sat at a booth. Husband ordered a Diet Coke but didn't complain when they brought him a real Coke as it was the Mexican version in a bottle and he was curious to try it. Liked it. I had a glass of chardonnay that must not be a common order as it took awhile to get and was served warm. Thankfully I had water and was able to dig some ice out for my wine.Husband ordered a burrito. I of course got the chile rellenos with beans and rice. Chips and salsa were good. Husband loved his burrito. At first I loved the rellenos, but they clearly had been fried and not roasted (which they usually are anyway), but as a result they were on the greasy side. By the second one, I was taking the batter off. Beans and rice were quite good.Next time I'll probably stick with what they are known for...seafood. Note: they have a robot that brings your food, but it is accompanied by a person who does put it on your table. Very cool! The bar area was really hopping with music and singing and folks sounding like they were having a terrific time. It's nice that they have that as a fun option, while the dining room is more quiet if that's what you prefer."
"Wow. This is definitely a "don't judge a book by it's cover" type place. The number of times I passed by but never was tempted to try it. The food was amazing though. This spot is located in a shopping center and the store itself seems to be an empty grocery store (aisles of nothing in it) with the order counter to the left. Don't expect any type of ambience or a place to sit. People were coming in and out too so I'm glad we placed a phone order before we came because I assume it's popular. The wings are SO good, better than any wings chain here and listen to the reviews when they say they are worth the drive. You have the option to choose whole wings or ATL wings, we chose ATL wings. They have a long list of great flavors to choose from too. They also have multiple combinations to come with the wings which is great and makes the meal really filling. We got the cheesesteak with 6 ATL wings (honey mustard flavor) and fries. It was devoured. I got the 6 ATL wings and shrimp fried rice for myself and got the wings honey garlic pepper flavored. I also got 6 more honey bbq wings just to try. I am not even a lemon pepper or garlic parm fan but this honey garlic pepper was SO good I wish I could've switched out my other 6 barbecue wings for them. The fried rice was so delicious too and I'm not even into the fried rice and wings combo, just wanted to try it. The cheesesteak is soooooo good wow. I want to say it's a top 5 cheesesteak because they did everything right but it's just really small so you would need to order 2 if you only wanted a cheesesteak. However they are only $6.95 so it's not bad. The prices are good, the portions are great, and the food is seasoned. This is definitely my new spot."

"Upscale dining place with quality (albeit overpriced) food. The BBQ shrimp comes with this sauce that goes well with everything. I had their fried oysters (good texture and flavor) and penne pasta (enormous quantity wise for what I could handle). The pasta was creamy, and the penne had clearly soaked in all the flavor of the cream. Highly recommend! Service was fine, the tables seemed relatively empty right after peak time on a Friday night."
"Seafood!!! Omg. Love this food court seafood spot. The portions are super large and delicious! Choices are great!! Grilled, fried, or both??!! The service was fast, even though we were there on a busy day. I love the ice that randomly falls from the ceiling!! Get the combo platter! Scallops A++++"
"We tried this Indian restaurant for their amazing lunch buffet! They have sooooo many options and everything tasted so delicious!! From fresh cut fruits and salad, they have various varieties of chaat, indo Chinese, North Indian dishes, lots of veg and non veg curries, pappadum, 2 types of biryani, idli, vada sambhar and 2 types of desserts. I have never seen these many items in an Indian buffet. They bring fresh naan on the table which is an added plus. The service is good and restaurant has a very nice ambiance."
"Tl;dr: Tasty fried chicken with a great seasoning mix and helpful staffCalled in an order for some wings after work and was told that they only have jumbo wings -- not an issue. I'll take a jumbo version of something that I had my mind on! I also ordered it with potato salad and fries (so that I could snack on some fries on the way home, heh). The wings came out perfectly crispy on the outside with a delicious batter. The actual chicken were well seasoned and not dry at all! I've seen some reports of the chicken having blood in it which may have been cook/user error as to not burn the outside, but not my order. The potato salad was delicious! It was perfectly creamy and chunky in the right places. The fries were standard crinkle-cut fries which aren't my favorite but after a long day with no lunch... I'd take any fried potato product. The gentleman who helped me was kind and was open to me asking questions as it was my first time there. I just moved to the area so I think this will be my go-to fried chicken wing joint."
"Fantastic! Make a point to come here every time I'm in town from LA visiting my family. The seafood is consistently fresh and on point. Ordered two FullMoon platters lightly steamed for three people to share. Lots of seafood and very filling. Throw in some house made slaw and potatoes and it's a home run. Especially because the staff is super friendly and seem to have a deep understanding of their menu and what it takes to take care of customers. They are genuinely in it to give you the best experience possible. Will definitely be back again and again. The area is so fortunate to have the place as a staple seafood establishment."
"I've been here a couple of times before and hadn't been back in over a year. Because the food while good wasn't as good as the one in Siler. But this time it was better. It's in a row of shops behind Pittsboro's Lowes hardware. The interior is nicely dark and decorated. And the service was fast and friendly. The complimentary chips and tasty salsas came out right I got my menu. And after I ordered it my dish the salad came and before long the Fajita San José I wanted. I used the white dip that came with the chips as a dressing. The rice and refied were not the standard dried out crap you get at some Mexican restaurants but moist and tasty. I especially liked that they used Cojita cheese sprinkled on top instead of melted Swiss or some other white cheese. The fajita came out so sizzling hot that I had to let it cool a bit and the steam to die down so I could take a picture. The Fajita San Jose was delicious with the tender chicken strips, and grilled corn, zucchini, mushrooms and peppers and onions. An order for one is plenty for two meals. If I was just rating it for this time it would be 5 stars, but I'm including the previous unrated visits too. It appears they have upped their food game. I'll have to come here more often. Didn't have any mixed drink so I don't know about that but it's worth a try."
"It was our 37th anniversary and we were headed to our granddaughter's soccer game and decided to stop in on our way to the game. I'm going to be totally honest with you...if we hadn't read such good reviews prior to going I don't know that we would have went just based on the outside appearance of where this place is located. Its located in a run down looking strip where a gas station is located. But this will prove that REVIEWS DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. We went in and much to our surprise we were greeted with one of the friendliest greetings by the staff. It is a small place and we arrived around 5:45 after that this place is slammed with friendly customers so get there as early as you can. Our server was also friendly so we were already impressed with the customer service. We ordered a kids flounder dinner with fries and a dinner with 2 kinds of shrimp (bang bang and cajun shrimp), slaw and baked potato. They also give you hushpuppies while you wait, which are delish especially with the honey butter. Also, they sell the hushpuppy mix . The food was delicious! We were so surprised by this gem and we will definitely be back!"
"My fried rice Friday journey came back with me to North Carolina and I have not found another place that does it better than Szechuan Garden. Formerly Orient Garden many years ago, this was the spot we would come for some Americanized Chinese food, mainly their sesame chicken. Today, Szechuan Garden is a spot where I will have my weekly fried rice Friday, or even share a traditional Chinese meal with my family.I can honestly say that everything I've eaten from Szechuan Garden has been delicious. A family favorite is their squirrel fish, a fried fish that is covered in sweet and sour sauce. Their sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. They serve traditional vegetables and we love their noodles, particularly their chow fun. They have options that get as traditional as it can get, and we love that! Now, the fried rice that has won over my heart is their young chow fried rice. This is a fried rice with not a lot of vegetables, and a ton of different meats. It has egg, shrimp, chicken and beef! The fried rice is over seasoned and oily, but both in a good way. They make it the kind of way that overloads your taste buds with all sorts of delicious spice and flavor. It's easily one of the best fried rice dishes in the area, no contest. I've also had a bunch of their appetizers on these occasions, their homemade dumplings, their chicken wings and their Szechuan noodles. All of their appetizers pass the test as well! It all tastes fresh, has good flavor and fairly affordable. I can see Szechuan Garden being my go-to Chinese restaurant for the foreseeable future. Whether you need an Americanized dish or something traditional, Szechuan Garden will serve you Chinese food that you will rave about!"
"I dined here on 2/18/24 for a date. We arrived here around 7:50pm for an 8pm reservation. They have complimentary valet and it was very busy. By the time we got inside, it was 8pm exactly. After checking in, we were told it would be a couple minutes. There were about 3-4 people behind the host stand. There were MANY people waiting to be seated, which I assume they were walk ins. There is only one bench for waiting which IS NOT enough for the amount of people waiting. From what I saw and other reviews, I think this business should invest in a proper waiting area. In the summer, waiting outside would be nice. However on a cold and windy night (like the night I visited), that would be miserable. We were sat less than a minute later. (Note: After reading reviews with poor experiences regarding reservations, I was nervous. Thankfully everything went smoothly). The ambiance was composed of low lighting, light music, and a candle on the table. The waiter, Dylan, came over shortly after we sat. He provided waters for us. Dylan returned shortly after. He graciously went over the menu for us. As he did that, someone brought over complimentary bread. The bread was soft and warm! We ordered spinach and artichoke dip as a start around 8:12pm. The dip came at 8:27pm and it was very hot (in temperature). The chips that accompanied it were crispy and tasty. We enjoyed it. We ordered our dinner at 8:29pm. We both got prime ribeye cooked medium and shared a loaded whipped potatoes side. (Note: All the sides are shareable). I also ordered a Thyme Lemon Drop that came 15 mins after ordering. Our food was brought over at 8:58pm. The prime ribeye was one of the best steaks I've ever tasted, no joke. I love the crisp edges. It was very juicy, tender, and flavorful! My mouth is watering right now as I reminisce on it! We enjoyed the loaded potatoes but we got full. We barely ate 1/3 of it. I forced myself to finish the steak because it was so delicious and didn't want to take it home and reheat it improperly. We were asked if we wanted dessert but we were honestly STUFFED! I definitely want to return. When/if I do, I will plan to save room for dessert. 2 steaks, 2 drinks, 1 appetizer, and 1 side was over $200. Keep that in mind when dining. I can say that we had a pleasant dining experience with no complaints. If I had to complain, I would say it took a while to receive our drinks. However, it was busy, so it was understandable. After dinner, I did go to the restroom. It was clean but busy. No complaints there. I was glad valet has slowed down by the time we finished dinner. The wait for my car was fairly short. However... I watched valet hop the curb in my car... ; So I would be cautious if you chose to utilize that service."

I am surprised to see below 4 stars for this restaurant. I admittedly was not excited about this choice for a family dinner based on reviews here, but it was chosen by the guest of honor so I obliged. The inside of this restaurant almost feels touristy, very cute with huge fish and sharks, netting, and other seaside items decorating the inside. The staff in front greeted me right away with smiles and took me to a table for our party of 8. We came in on a Tuesday around 7pm, but pretty empty with 2-3 other tables on our dining area. While waiting on the rest of my party I ordered the Ultimate Margarita ($13.99). The drink was huge and came out with a cute little duck on it! Other drinks at the table later had other really fun flair to make it unique. Like other Mexican restaurants in the area, they bring out chips and salsa. I liked that they gave everyone a small salsa of their own (2oz plastic ramekin) but the salsa was not my favorite. A bit spicy. Unlike other restaurants with similar cuisine, the menu was kind of a mess. There were no appetizers to choose from (guac, queso, calamari being also a seafood joint, etc). But they did have chicken wings on the menu? Also no real kids menu with offerings similar to that of the menu - like a kid's quesadilla. They offered normal options such as chicken tenders which I thought was strange, but also good for small picky eaters. I got the Texanas fajitas. A ton of food, very good. Meat was tender. My nephew got the arros con camarones with queso on the side (so they do actually have queso!) and I used that with my meal. The only thing I think was negative about the food we had was the prices. Seemed pretty expensive overall. My fajitas were $19. My niece had 3 plain steak tacos that were $24. As for the seafood here, a main attraction that sets it apart from other like restaurants, they have a lot of options to choose from. My mom got the whole fried fish and really loved it. Can't speak to any other options. They did have the sweetest man singing and playing the guitar. He fled Venezuela to come here. He was so nice and talented! Definitely added to our experience. Also - THEY HAVE A ROBOT THAT PLAYS MUSIC AND DELIVERS FOOD TO YOUR TABLE! I really thought this was cool, and also a great way to get food out to customers if you are short staffed or busy! All in all- 4/5 stars. Food, drinks, service, and entertainment all good. Expensive and menu set up was weird, but I would definitely give it a try if you're in the area. They deserve some business!

It took one visit to determine this is the place to go for a delicious, budget friendly, takeout meal. I ordered the combo with wings and shrimp fried rice and the catfish nuggets. Everything was delicious. The rice was pretty standard with onion and fried egg. They were pretty generous with the shrimp that were cooked perfectly - not rubbery at all. I opted for garlic Parmesan flavor on my wings - they were freshly cooked and crispy. Although the sauce created a bit of a grease pool in the container, these wings were legit. The star of the order: catfish nuggets. This was THE BEST catfish I have ever had. The fish was moist with a crispy cornmeal exterior. It wasn't greasy at all, super fresh, light, flakey, perfectly seasoned. They included tartar sauce but it wasn't needed. The catfish nuggets were honestly one of the best dishes I have had in recent memory. The business appears family owned and operated by a very sweet Asian American family. I'd love to see more Asian dishes on their menu because I bet they'd be incredible. Orders came out fresh, hot and quickly. Please don't let the area or interior deter you from trying this wonderful food. It was unfortunate to see an older caucasian couple open the door, look around and the female said "NO WAY" as they turned around and walked out. They absolutely missed out.

It's so sad I've slept on Locals for so long as it is nothing short of awesome! The staff was super welcoming and knowledgeable and encouraged me to get one of the Calabash platters. It was a little pricey at $30, but it was so worth it! From the first bite to the last one was delicious. The fried shrimp had a light crispy batter coating, and it was made even better with the creamy sauce! The grilled shrimp did not need anything as it came with a slightly spicy coating that was oh so good! I could not get enough! I will be back for their tuna sandwich, which I was told is a staple and it very delicious as well! I can't wait!

Great food! Servers are kinda cold but food is fantastic so who cares. The decor inside is nice. We came here for a double date one time. Mango lassi was incredible. I can't remember the dishes but I know we got some shrimp dishes, a mixed platter, and some curries, and garlic naan. Definitely recommend this place though. Yummy food!

We were greeted promptly and I requested an outside table as seating inside is high top around the bar. There is one inside table but another party was using it. We were given a pager and sat inside while we waited for a table. About 20 minutes later we were brought out to a table and while outside the service was amazing. We started with drinks and a dozen fresh oysters. The oysters were great. Big plump and so good tasting. I would have gotten another dozen but daughter also ordered scallops in bacon and I didn't want a third app. Coleslaw and potato sides from dinner came shortly, the coleslaw was the star. Potatoes were just ok. Our meals came and I had Jamaican me crazy, steak and shrimp in spicy sauce. Super yummy. Hubby had voodoo shrimp. It's peel and eat but so worth it. Strawberry cake for desert and we were so full. Great meal, fabulous waitress and great memories.,

"After hearing about the "robot kitty" we decided to stop in. Very cute ambiance- IG worthy. Food was ok. Very much a southern version of Mexican food. The margarita was great."
"Made a reservation and came on a Friday night. It was very busy, enough to where it is difficult to have a conversation with someone across from you. It is very intimate, so be aware. The food is pretty delicious - bone marrow on toast, the croquettes, and the fish big plate. Grits in a block form? Different, but still good! 7/10 - it's a bit TOO intimate"
"By far, the best authentic Mexican food I've had in a very long time. Our server was so friendly & was always one step ahead of us for refills on drinks, chips, salsa, etc. The artwork on all of the tables and booths was stunning. We will absolutely be back."
"We are kicking ourselves for taking so long to try this adorable restaurant! It's like walking into your favorite hole-in-the-wall Southern beach calabash place.Everything we had was off-the-hook good! Fried Shrimp and Flounder with fries and clam chowder for Husband. Clam chowder is included as a side option and they even brought it to him before our entrees. That's Southern hospitality! They also brought terrific hush puppy rings right away.I prefer my seafood broiled or grilled and they even put some good seasoning on them. For my sides I had a baked potato and cooked cabbage. All terrific and I loved all three sauces that were in squeeze bottles on the table.Service was also great! Those Gals couldn't have been more charming or helpful. And you can't beat the prices for this kind of quality! Note: it's a small restaurant. We went at an off time on a Sunday so it wasn't crowded, but it was sure picking up by the time we left."
"I was so disappointed when grandsons closed almost all of their buffets. But luckily they opened up a couple of these smaller restaurants that are just as good, just not as much variety. I eaten at this one and another one several times and food is always delicious, piping hot and big portions for the price! I also love how they bake their mac and cheese, I get so tired of going to someplace that calls themselves a southern restaurant and their mac and cheese is this gloppy mess of macaroni and canned cheese. I highly recommend grandsons especially if you're in this area, they're really aren't any good food options other than this restaurant. Oh and it's super clean as well!"
"I had done some research on this place a while back looking for a Christmas gift certificates and saw it was pretty good. Finally got to visit it! Very cool décor. Nice atmosphere with dining area and a big bar area. Noticed outside seating too for when the weather is niceOthers have noted the cheese and crackers. I thought given that they are a higher end steak house this was a bit strange however the cheese was good. We started with meatballs and stuffed mushrooms. Meatballs were awesome! Great red sauce and flavor in the meat. The mushrooms were ok. Seemed to lack a little flavor. We then moved on to the wedge salad. Great flavors. Just the right amount of dressing and lots of bacon! Then Deb and I split the Ribeye. It was cooked perfectly. Good flavors. Delicious. The side of onion rings were great too. Nice and crispy. The service was great. Food was brought out in good time. Overall a good experience"
"Loved the decor here. This is a casual place great for meeting friends because there's a little something for everyone on their menu. I ordered Ala Carte a shrimp taco and steak enchilada. Hubs ordered a mix of chicken and steak fajitas. This was served up fresh to my table. Of course, I had to try their signature marg which complemented both my meak and experience. My son ordered the Al Pastor Quesadilla which isn't a menu item we see at every Mexican restaurant. He said it was the best! Will be back."
"I love Mayflower Seafood and have eaten at almost every site in Wake, Johnston and Wake counties. My experience at this one was just okay. This wasn't really the fault of our server, who was extremely nice to us, although our order did get botched. I was afraid that might happen when she didn't write it down. She was attentive and gave good recommendations (including that the flounder wasn't particularly good that night), so I give her points. She was the best part of our experience. My husband had the broiled shrimp and said it was very good. Our roommate had fried shrimp. I ordered fried oysters and fried catfish, but got fried catfish and fried shrimp instead. Our server apologized and brought me a small bowl with some oysters, and only charged me for the shrimp and catfish. The oysters were absolutely delicious - I just wish I'd gotten a full order of them. The shrimp were also excellent, if only I'd really wanted shrimp. My share of the french fries was a smaller portion than I get at other Mayflowers. My sweet tea wasn't good at all! It tasted more like tra sweetened with Stevia or Sweet N' Low than sugar. Sweet Tea in the south is not Diet Sweetener Tea. I hope this was just because we came in later in the evening. I admit to being picky about my tea!Restaurant itself was typical of the Mayflowers and clean. We'll go back and I hope that I get a full order of oysters that are as good as the sample I got this time."
"Home (NC), I will always love you. NC will always fry it better, just my opinion. This spot is GOOD! Came here on a busy night. The wait time was minimal and there's lots of space. The staff were amazing, friendly, fast and very attentive to details. I'm not a bread person but hush puppies w/ honey butter.... Yes please and can we have more is what you will say. Starters the Jalapeño shrimp(a popper with a twist), Oyster Rockefeller (you will order more) and Steam shrimp (why not). For my main course go for the Combo three (shrimp, tilapia and scallops). You will have plenty of food. Overall this place is a must go to if you're in town."
"I will start off this review by saying that I probably did not order the right thing here, I ordered a po-boy which had fried shrimp and crab meat. It isn't actually what I ordered, I ordered the shrimp and fish po boy but they got my order wrong and I didn't say anything. It wasn't necessarily bad, but I just didn't think it was anything special. There was a lot of shrimp and for the price I guess I shouldn't complain, it just wasn't something that I would drive out of my way to eat again. I did however like the french fries, they were crispy and had good flavor. I looked at some of their other food menu items and to be honest I think I would have had better luck ordering something different. But there's always a next time!"
"Located in an old motel, this is a pretty peculiar spot, even more so once you see the inside. We came for lunch buffet and the two of us ate (tea included) for $21 plus tip. The buffet was well stocked and had some of the beat sides of all the Buffet's here in Goldsboro. I saw a sign saying they offer military discount, but didn't think to ask before paying. Only one style of bbq available, a very vinegar based soggy blend, which takes the rating down one star, and the awkward - "pay before you enter" - experience, especially when you didn't bring cash to tip and the server doesn't know if you tipped $10 or $1... nor do you get to reflect the service with your tip if you aren't prepared with cash. That process reduces it to three stars. The great sides and great fried chicken, along with pork hop and fish options, as well as stellar desert and sufficient salad bar all make this a very viable lunch option, I will definitely be back and will update my ratings based on my second look."
"Excellent customer service from Mr Bobby. Our food was great. The ambiance was nice we will return soon."
"Very good! Service was great and the food was excellent! The garlic butter...I could eat with a spoon. We also got the fried oyster platter but the oyster was just battered, no seasoning. But that crab boil?? Amazing!!! I got the "all mixed" seasoning blend!!"
"So last night I was leaving Rex Hospital after visiting a loved one who mentioned there was going to be a food truck event outside starting at 7pm. I left around 7 and needing to bring home food to Husband (and myself) I decided to try this truck. Primarily because they were offering a non-fried option. Note: most of their offerings are fried or burgers...etc. Loved that grilled shrimp and chicken were options.I can say that both the grilled shrimp and the grilled chicken were both very good on pita. Fries were crinkled and seasoned. Good! My only concern was despite the 98 sanitation rating, I saw them both with gloves on touching things that should have warranted a glove change. That being said, I would not hesitate to order from them again under food truck circumstances."
"I wish I had photos to go along with this but I imagine you can find photos on this page somewhere. We went here for a team dinner and all did the Nigiri Omakase and WOW. Probably the best sushi/omakase I've had especially for that price. I truly enjoyed every one of the 13 nigiris which says a lot because I'm not terribly exploratory with fish and haven't like everything in other omakase experiences. I'd seriously recommend this restaurant and especially their omakase if you're thinking about coming. I really hope I come back because it was really THAT good.Thank you M sushi I'll have dreams about this meal."
"This was our first visit. Wow! Go on Friday when everyone gets free cake. Who knew?!? We've been encouraged to try this Oyster Bar and Seafood Restaurant. We were a party of three and made a reservation earlier in the day. Seated on time and our server Jenn was super friendly! The oysters from Chesapeake were very good steamed. We finished off a half peck in short order ($25). We had 3 different entrees: fried flounder, lobster roll, and house salad with seared tuna. Other than disappointing mac and cheese and nothing special fried okra, we enjoyed our meal and excellent service. The environment is casual and welcoming. We enjoyed red velvet, pineapple and carrot cake later in the evening after taking our complimentary desserts home. Carrot cake got the blue ribbon. I highly encourage anyone in the Goldsboro area who enjoys seafood to stop in. There are some land lubber items on the menu."
"reat steaks , staff, location and drinks. Great place to take friends and large groups."
"The ladies here are so sweet! First time I came and forgot to order sweet tea, she comped my tea. I love the crab clusters and shrimp. Hard to get seafood I want such as crab legs or shrimp with corn in NC! The prices are not bad and in close proximity to two post secondary education institutions!"
"I found Mi Peru Peruvian Cuisine on Yelp when searching for takeout nearby. At the time, this restaurant had a 4.5-star average rating with 158 reviews. I agree with that rating. The food and service were good to great.Mi Peru is located in a small shopping center (BB&T Plaza) behind Sam's Club and Target (South Square). It opened in 2014. It's a small, humble, casual restaurant. Along with a fairly spacious dining room inside, they have a narrow, uncovered, three-table patio outside.Online ordering is available through a link on Mi Peru's website at https://miperucuisine.com/. At the time I ordered, they used the Toast platform which I've grown familiar with. It's easy to use and I like that I can pay online so all I have to do at the restaurant is pick up my order.I checked the online menu for two days and both days, they were out of the Peruvian charcoal rotisserie chicken. Oh well. It was OK because there were plenty of other dishes for us to try and they all turned out to be delicious. When I checked the online menu a third straight day, the chicken was back in stock. Maybe I had bad luck. I hope to try it sometime.A whole chicken was priced at $20.99, half $12.99, and quarter $8.99. Those all include two large sides.I placed my order at 5:30pm on a Wednesday and it was ready for me by 6:00pm. When I arrived to the restaurant, the kitchen looked busy. There were three dine-in parties (two inside, one outside), one uncleaned table, and one party waiting for takeout in front of me.Here's what I ordered:* Ceviche de Tilapia ($15.99) - fresh raw diced tilapia marinated in lime juice, served with Peruvian corn, sweet potato, lettuce, and onions* Lomo Saltado ($15.99) - Peruvian-style beef stir-fry mixed with onions, tomatoes, cilantro, soy sauce, and served on fries and jasmine rice* Cau Cau ($12.99) - Afro-Peruvian tripe stew, seasoned with aji amarillo and turmeric* Aji de Gallina ($11.99) - pulled chicken breast cooked with a creamy aji amarillo sauce; served with sliced potato, sliced boiled eggs, olives, and white rice* Alfajores ($2.99 each) - Homemade Peruvian-style cookies with dulce de lecheWe enjoyed everything. At the top of the list were the Alfajores. They were incredible. Definitely order at least one per person. You won't regret it. These were some of the best cookies we've had anywhere. It's worth coming to Mi Peru for their cookies alone. The Alfajores just melted in our mouths. Each bite was sweet, buttery, and magical. No other way to explain it. Perfect texture and flavor. This was my first time ordering takeout ceviche and Mi Peru did a great job. The restaurant offers a few different kinds of ceviche: mixed, tilapia, and sea bass. I went with the tilapia version since I'm allergic to shrimp and the mixed version comes with shrimp along with mussels and other seafood. The Ceviche de Tilapia was excellent. It was fresh, colorful, and flavorful. It was so flavorful and zesty that we didn't need to squeeze the two lime pieces included. I enjoyed the big, soft pieces of Peruvian corn. Crispy, dried, roasted corn and a red spicy sauce were served on the side. Good stuff. I recommend this dish.Of the entrees (I consider the entree-sized ceviche above as more of an appetizer), the Lomo Saltado was my favorite. It was also my wife's favorite. This is a popular Peruvian dish and one of Mi Peru's most-ordered dishes. I believe the type of beef they used was sirloin. While the strips of sirloin were a *little* on the dry and chewy side, they were still high-quality and seasoned and flavored well. The other ingredients were fresh, and this was just an overall hearty and satisfying dish. You can't go wrong with it.I liked the Cau Cau more than my wife did, but I also like tripe more than she does. If you like tripe, I think Mi Peru's Cau Cau is worth trying. I likened this to a comfort-food-type dish along with the Aji de Gallina. Both were tasty stew or stew-like dishes, chockful of umami, and I couldn't stop eating them. That unpleasant tripe taste/odor in the Cau Cau was mostly non-existent (very subtle). The shredded chicken breast in the Aji de Gallina was tender and the sauce was creamy and scrumptious. All three entrees came with white rice which was soft, fluffy, and yummy. In addition, the entire order came with a complimentary side of Sarza which is sliced purple onion marinated in lime juice and served with chopped cilantro. It's like a salsa. It was the same stuff they served on top of the ceviche. Tangy and wonderful. Also included were two small cups of Huacatay sauce, a yellow sauce made with the same aji amarillo chili peppers that were used to make the creamy yellow sauce in the Aji de Gallina entree. I noticed these cost extra on the menu (listed under the sides) with Sarza at $2.99 and Huacatay sauce at $0.99. I'm not sure why I got them for free except maybe because I ordered several items.TL;DR - I consider Mi Peru a proverbial gem."
"Delicious BBQ and the friendliest service around. It's a tiny hole in the wall but you won't be disappointed. The price point is just right. For $16 you can get hush puppies, two sides and BBQ entree. These are some of the best hush puppies I have EVER had. It's a lot of food too. The BBQ is souther style and they offer sweet of ginger sauce in the side. It also comes with a drink."
"On our way to Florida, the restaurant was recommended by the staff member at our hotel, during check in. The restaurant is located in an old mill building in town that really cannot be understated. I wish we had been able to explore a little. It was a Wednesday evening, around 7pm and we did not have a reservation. the place was quite busy but we were seated almost immediately. Our bartender/waitperson, Teresa, was accommodating and knowledgeable of the menu.I chose the Seafood Gumbo, along with Mac n Cheese and Cole Slaw while my wife went with lighter fare and ordered a Caesar Salad along with Cole Slaw. After a long day we declined any dessert. The menu looked terrific and I hope to be able to stop in again."
"First time here the customer service was very good and the menu selection was nice as well. Very down South feeling to it. Very family oriented"
"Lovely Indian restaurant. The place is spacious, casual yet comfortable. The service was excellent and very fast. The food was amazing. You have an option of mild,Medium, hot or very hot- choose wisely. The mild is still a little spicy!Every item was delicious. We had chicken 65- mild, vegetable samosas, chicken tikka masala and mutter paneer. The entrees come with rice. We ordered naan too. The masala chai was small, but tasty! And enough to to fill your tastebuds.A definite must for Indian food in Cary"
