Dave W. "On our way to Florida, the restaurant was recommended by the staff member at our hotel, during check in. The restaurant is located in an old mill building in town that really cannot be understated. I wish we had been able to explore a little. It was a Wednesday evening, around 7pm and we did not have a reservation. the place was quite busy but we were seated almost immediately. Our bartender/waitperson, Teresa, was accommodating and knowledgeable of the menu.I chose the Seafood Gumbo, along with Mac n Cheese and Cole Slaw while my wife went with lighter fare and ordered a Caesar Salad along with Cole Slaw. After a long day we declined any dessert. The menu looked terrific and I hope to be able to stop in again."

Bull City to drink, and 3 appetizers made my meal this trip; seafood bisque, blackened bacon wrapped scallops, and fried green tomatoes ( pimento cheese and Cajun shrimp)Needed a quick meal before the MC vs. Celtic FC soccer game and everything came out back to back to back. No issues. Great meal, great service and quiet relaxing atmosphere. Cheers!"

Jade R. "This place quickly became one of the best restaurants I've ever been too! We came to visit on a quick weekend away and happened to stumble upon this gem. Okay, so check out the menu, and note how they have some "old time favorites" and made them their own. Super unique, super funky but really worth it. Dont be scccurrrd The ambiance kind of steals the show. The photos inside are celebrities but they've edited them to all be tatted up. They got good ole Stevie nicks in the front, as she deserves. The inside is romantic and moody with low lights and lots of candles. I loved this. Anyone that struggles with reading in the dark should definitely be prepared to use their reading glasses & iPhone flash. Service was quality. The host had nothing but incredible recommendations and modifications to the menu. We were super happy. HOWEVER the wine pours are shorter pours than normal and more expensive The oysters were one thing we passed on just because they're a bit pricey, however, we are also from San Diego."

Aditi K. "ordered takeout, but the ambiance inside seems really nice! i also saw some nice looking desserts in the case but refrained from picking anything up this time. maybe next time though!we ordered veg samosas, moroccan hummus, and dum aloo. both the entrees came with roghani naan and rice. usually indian restaurants don't give free naan, so i thought that was really nice! the portions are also huge (which is good because each entree is on the pricier side). we were also offered free cilantro chutney with the samosas.the samosas were excellent - obviously not as flaky since i picked up my order like half an hour after it was ready but that's my own fault. the chutney was really nice and spicy.i enjoyed both entrees too, but i have to take a star off because neither of them is anything like their name. the moroccan hummus clearly engenders some confusion because when i ordered it over the phone, the guy on the other end described the dish to me in detail and asked if that was ok. it was ok because i knew what i was ordering, but why not just call it chana masala? there's no other chana masala on the menu so i don't know what the purpose is of calling it something different. the dum aloo is also not real dum aloo. dum aloo is supposed to be whole baby potatoes in a spicy gravy. the "hummus" was spicier than the aloo and the potatoes were not whole baby potatoes and also were not completely cooked to satisfaction - this dish was more like aloo matar makhani. everything was delicious, just mis-advertised, and really for seemingly no reason. i would still go back though!"

Babymoon was what we selected after a Yelp search. The transaction was seamless - a super friendly and efficient person took my order via phone. She even asked if we needed plates, napkins and forks. Around 45 minutes later, the pizza arrived. It was still hot and so good! It was a New York style pizza, and the crust was delicious. Then I had the scallops. They were cooked great and had a wonderful flavor. The fries were really good too and gave a crunch to the main. We shared desserts but my key lime pie was delicious and about all I could handle after the two previous courses. What a wonderful experience having a private room to have our clubs party. Our drinks came quickly and were in large tall plastic tumblers. We ordered steamed snow crab legs with garlic butter, steamed crawfish with just Old Bay seasoning, the soft shell crab basket and steamed shrimp (with the heads) in garlic butter. While I was happily surprised to watch our server return with clear plastic bags filled with food and flip them over to make sure everything was thoroughly seasoned, it was even better watching my family dig in with their bibs on. Our sever provided a small basket of plastic gloves, seafood crackers and wet naps to keep us tidy. We didn't need them; the messier the better! My daughter couldn't believe the size of her crawfish. My shrimp were delicious. My youngest barely spoke because she was so focused on her crab claws. The sign of a perfect meal. All the sides: potatoes, corn, hush puppies were all very yummy and came hot and fresh.Later the kids used the bathroom facilities and they reported it was 'very clean and tidy back there'. A friend recommended Rey's and we were quite happy. Coincidentally we were in New Orleans a few weeks ago, we didn't book Rey's because of its New Orleans style, but we definitely felt it when we were there. I was impressed with the breadth of the menu, very challenging deciding what to order with many great options both as starters, salads and main courses. I ended up starting with the carpaccio, which had a lot of flavor outside the beef, as you sometimes just get nice meat but this was a more complete dish. I particularly liked the accompanying greens, they had quite a nice dressing. I ordered a ribeye medium rare as my main, it was also cooked perfectly and a nice steak. I added soft onions and although they were not world changing. I also found the sides simply okay. The better was the creamed spinach, which was nice but not the creamiest I have had. I did not particularly enjoy the asparagus, thin asparagus, nothing special. For dessert, we shared bananas foster, largely for the presentation and it lived up to it. Our waiter did a great job, the bananas tasted good, and they were nice enough to split it into three servings, each with sufficient ice cream.Service was very professional. Overall ambience was among the most formal I have experienced in the Triangle (very similar to Ruth Chris, not coincidentally also with NO roots), you didn't need a jacket but you would not be out of place without it. My wife really enjoyed her experience and couldn't stop talking about the place when she got home. We found out about 411 West after her attending and co-resident highly recommended it.This is a nice, old Italian restaurant located on W Franklin St in downtown Chapel Hill. I'm not sure how long it's been around, at least since 2005. They serve dinner only, seven days a week. There's a metered public parking lot right next to the restaurant, the 415 West Franklin St Lot. At the time of writing this review, parking in this lot costs $1.50/hour and is enforced Monday-Saturday, 8am-8pm. Parking is free otherwise. There was a wait.Maybe it was busy because every Monday, bottles of wine are half-off.I tried a couple of the daily specials, the Fried Okra ($8) and Wood Grilled Beef Ribeye ($28), and the Bourbon-Pecan Pie ($8) dessert. Everything was delicious. I was impressed with the quality, especially of the ribeye. I had it medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. The steak was a hearty, 12-ounce cut that came with herb butter on top. It was seasoned well and relatively juicy. No sauce needed. Simply a good, solid, satisfying steak. Also, it came with thick slices of ripe heirloom tomato, full of umami. I thoroughly enjoyed it.The fried okra was nicely-battered and scrumptious. It came with a yummy basil aioli dipping sauce. There was one inedible piece of okra (too chewy), but it wasn't a big deal. The bourbon pecan pie was excellent. It came with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and caramel sauce. I love pecan pie and it didn't get much better than the one I had from here. From taste to consistency, they got just about everything right. The one thing my wife and I didn't taste, though, was the bourbon. Not even a subtle hint of it. Again, not a big deal.My wife also liked the Bruschetta ($8) and Gnocchi ($12) starters. The bruschetta consisted of grilled baguette, fresh mozzarella, local tomatoes, basil, olive oil, and balsamic reduction. The gnocchi was "panned" with Sungold tomatoes, arugula, and shaved Parmesan. There was an option to get the gnocchi with seared scallops ($19). Our friend got the Local Watermelon Salad ($8 small, $11 large), another daily special. It came with cucumber, basil, arugula, and feta with a Sungold tomato vinaigrette. Overall, all of the food was fresh, high-quality, and flavorful. The table also got cocktails and bottles of wine. My wife loved her Carolina Mule cocktail. It was made with Troy & Sons Blonde Whiskey, Spindrift ginger beer, and lime. Troy & Sons is from Asheville Distilling Company. Both the cocktails and the dishes were presented beautifully. Everything tasted as good as it looked.411 West's menu also features wood-fired pizzas, salads, pastas, classic Italian entrees like Chicken Marsala ($19) and Chicken Parmesan ($18), and other plates from their wood-fired grill such as Wood Grilled Organic Salmon ($24) and Wood Grilled Flat Iron Steak ($25).Service was fine. Zay M. "I dined here on 2/18/24 for a date. We arrived here around 7:50pm for an 8pm reservation. They have complimentary valet and it was very busy. By the time we got inside, it was 8pm exactly. After checking in, we were told it would be a couple minutes. There were about 3-4 people behind the host stand. There were MANY people waiting to be seated, which I assume they were walk ins. There is only one bench for waiting which IS NOT enough for the amount of people waiting. From what I saw and other reviews, I think this business should invest in a proper waiting area. In the summer, waiting outside would be nice. However on a cold and windy night (like the night I visited), that would be miserable. We were sat less than a minute later. (Note: After reading reviews with poor experiences regarding reservations, I was nervous. Thankfully everything went smoothly). The ambiance was composed of low lighting, light music, and a candle on the table. The waiter, Dylan, came over shortly after we sat. He provided waters for us. Dylan returned shortly after. He graciously went over the menu for us. As he did that, someone brought over complimentary bread. The bread was soft and warm! We ordered spinach and artichoke dip as a start around 8:12pm. The dip came at 8:27pm and it was very hot (in temperature). The chips that accompanied it were crispy and tasty. We enjoyed it. We ordered our dinner at 8:29pm. We both got prime ribeye cooked medium and shared a loaded whipped potatoes side. (Note: All the sides are shareable). I also ordered a Thyme Lemon Drop that came 15 mins after ordering. Our food was brought over at 8:58pm. The prime ribeye was one of the best steaks I've ever tasted, no joke. I love the crisp edges. It was very juicy, tender, and flavorful! My mouth is watering right now as I reminisce on it! We enjoyed the loaded potatoes but we got full. We barely ate 1/3 of it. I forced myself to finish the steak because it was so delicious and didn't want to take it home and reheat it improperly. We were asked if we wanted dessert but we were honestly STUFFED! I definitely want to return. When/if I do, I will plan to save room for dessert. 2 steaks, 2 drinks, 1 appetizer, and 1 side was over $200. Keep that in mind when dining. I can say that we had a pleasant dining experience with no complaints. If I had to complain, I would say it took a while to receive our drinks. However, it was busy, so it was understandable. After dinner, I did go to the restroom. It was clean but busy. No complaints there. I was glad valet has slowed down by the time we finished dinner. The wait for my car was fairly short. However... I watched valet hop the curb in my car... ; So I would be cautious if you chose to utilize that service."

There's free self-parking in the shopping center's lot. No valet. Every time we've come here, the parking lot has been close to full. This is one of those classic, old-school, white tablecloth steakhouses with formally-dressed staff, some in suits like the general manager (Michael Fiscus, who greeted us when we checked in) and sommelier. The food and service were good to great.Mi Peru is located in a small shopping center (BB&T Plaza) behind Sam's Club and Target (South Square). It opened in 2014. It's a small, humble, casual restaurant. Along with a fairly spacious dining room inside, they have a narrow, uncovered, three-table patio outside.Online ordering is available through a link on Mi Peru's website at https://miperucuisine.com/. At the time I ordered, they used the Toast platform which I've grown familiar with. It's easy to use and I like that I can pay online so all I have to do at the restaurant is pick up my order.I checked the online menu for two days and both days, they were out of the Peruvian charcoal rotisserie chicken. Oh well. It was OK because there were plenty of other dishes for us to try and they all turned out to be delicious. When I checked the online menu a third straight day, the chicken was back in stock. Maybe I had bad luck. I hope to try it sometime.A whole chicken was priced at $20.99, half $12.99, and quarter $8.99. Those all include two large sides.I placed my order at 5:30pm on a Wednesday and it was ready for me by 6:00pm. When I arrived to the restaurant, the kitchen looked busy. They were incredible. Definitely order at least one per person. You won't regret it. These were some of the best cookies we've had anywhere. It's worth coming to Mi Peru for their cookies alone. The Alfajores just melted in our mouths. Each bite was sweet, buttery, and magical. No other way to explain it. Perfect texture and flavor. This was my first time ordering takeout ceviche and Mi Peru did a great job. The restaurant offers a few different kinds of ceviche: mixed, tilapia, and sea bass. I went with the tilapia version since I'm allergic to shrimp and the mixed version comes with shrimp along with mussels and other seafood. The Ceviche de Tilapia was excellent. It was fresh, colorful, and flavorful. It was so flavorful and zesty that we didn't need to squeeze the two lime pieces included. I enjoyed the big, soft pieces of Peruvian corn. Crispy, dried, roasted corn and a red spicy sauce were served on the side. Good stuff. I recommend this dish.Of the entrees (I consider the entree-sized ceviche above as more of an appetizer), the Lomo Saltado was my favorite. It was also my wife's favorite. This is a popular Peruvian dish and one of Mi Peru's most-ordered dishes. I believe the type of beef they used was sirloin. While the strips of sirloin were a *little* on the dry and chewy side, they were still high-quality and seasoned and flavored well. The other ingredients were fresh, and this was just an overall hearty and satisfying dish. You can't go wrong with it.I liked the Cau Cau more than my wife did, but I also like tripe more than she does. If you like tripe, I think Mi Peru's Cau Cau is worth trying. I likened this to a comfort-food-type dish along with the Aji de Gallina. Both were tasty stew or stew-like dishes, chockful of umami, and I couldn't stop eating them. That unpleasant tripe taste/odor in the Cau Cau was mostly non-existent (very subtle). The shredded chicken breast in the Aji de Gallina was tender and the sauce was creamy and scrumptious. All three entrees came with white rice which was soft, fluffy, and yummy. In addition, the entire order came with a complimentary side of Sarza which is sliced purple onion marinated in lime juice and served with chopped cilantro. It's like a salsa. It was the same stuff they served on top of the ceviche. Tangy and wonderful. Also included were two small cups of Huacatay sauce, a yellow sauce made with the same aji amarillo chili peppers that were used to make the creamy yellow sauce in the Aji de Gallina entree. I noticed these cost extra on the menu (listed under the sides) with Sarza at $2.99 and Huacatay sauce at $0.99. I'm not sure why I got them for free except maybe because I ordered several items.TL;DR - I consider Mi Peru a proverbial gem."

Sarah I. "Lovely Indian restaurant. The place is spacious, casual yet comfortable. The service was excellent and very fast. The food was amazing. You have an option of mild,Medium, hot or very hot- choose wisely. The mild is still a little spicy!Every item was delicious. We had chicken 65- mild, vegetable samosas, chicken tikka masala and mutter paneer. The entrees come with rice. We ordered naan too. The masala chai was small, but tasty! And enough to to fill your tastebuds.A definite must for Indian food in Cary"

Jimmie P. "Home (NC), I will always love you. NC will always fry it better, just my opinion. This spot is GOOD! Came here on a busy night. The wait time was minimal and there's lots of space. The staff were amazing, friendly, fast and very attentive to details. I'm not a bread person but hush puppies w/ honey butter.... Yes please and can we have more is what you will say. Starters the Jalapeño shrimp(a popper with a twist), Oyster Rockefeller (you will order more) and Steam shrimp (why not). For my main course go for the Combo three (shrimp, tilapia and scallops). You will have plenty of food. Overall this place is a must go to if you're in town."

Samantha R. "Amazing food and amazing service. The portions were gigantic (even for lunch) and we loved all of it. The hot tea was great as well as the Thai iced tea. The chicken lettuce wraps and skewers were my favorite of the dishes we tried. Can't wait to come back!"

Charles V. "Pretty average experience. The service was quite good, but the food was so so. I ordered the fish sandwich (as I was looking for something on the lighter side), and it arrived in an unusual way. It appears they cooked some fish fingers and laid them on a bun instead of a full piece of fish. Not what I was expecting. And, consequently, this approach ended up giving you a lot more breading making it a heavier meal. And, the taste was not that great. On the flip side, their desserts are pretty interesting. They make these cakes in large rectangular block with multiple layers of cake, filling, and frosting where each slice ends up being a 6 inch by 6 inch piece (with one inch thickness). I selected the coconut cream and it was very good. So, maybe next time, we skip the meal and go straight for the dessert?"

Allison M. "Been hearing about this place from friends for quite some time now. Finally found the truck to try it. Delish experience. We waited for the line to die down but honestly it didn't take too long. And once we paid, they were speedy. The cashier was super nice and friendly. The prices were a shock but I mean it is lobster soooooWe both got the cold roll and it was so good. They didn't add a lot of flavorings to it but I liked it that way. You could really taste the freshness of the lobster. I'd definitely try the grilled cheese or hot one next time. Or maybe the bisque? We also got an order of tots and they were pretty standard. Nothing super special. But a nice add on. For two rolls and tots were talking like $50. Overall it was a delightful splurge. Filling enough for a light lunch but I wouldn't get it often. Love a place with a good story though."

Holly K. "I've had two really wonderful dinners at G58. The ambiance here is definitely upscale, so I would dress up accordingly. The service has been spot on, super friendly, and helpful. On my most recent visit I went with a larger group so we were able to try a great variety. First off the Peking duck is delicious. You have to call them or note you your reservation that you would like the duck. The skin was so crispy and I loved the fresh pancakes and elevated sauces. Dipping the crispy skin in sugar was not something I've tried before. Our server helped us navigate the menu a bit. We ended up getting their filet and two types of fishes to share to share for entrees. The fish that they boil in hot oil was amazing. It didn't have a super enticing description on the menu, but our server let us know that it wasn't crazy spicy and was perfect for sharing. It held true to his promises! The filet also melted in your mouth and the table loved the beef dumplings as appetizers. I also love that they bring out a little red velvet cake with a candle if you are there for a celebration. Just a nice little touch!"

Anissa W. "First time here. The parking was outrageous. Barely anywhere to park. That told me that this place must be good. We went inside to do a carry out order. It was packed & the mine was long. People were standing everywhere, so it was hard to tell where the line ended. We got in line and waited...& waited...& waited. There were people who came in after us who got their order taken randomly by a young man behind the fresh seafood counter. That was irritating because we waited forever just to get to that part of the line. Anyway, we finally got to order. We got the combo with fried whiting & shrimp with corn and potatoes. Receiving the order didn't take that long. I couldn't wait to get home to try this food out. I ate the shrimp & corn. It was yummy but the shrimp were over cooked. My friend had the fish and the potatoes. He devoured them. He absolutely loved it. I will definitely go back to try them out again. Maybe then I will be able to give them more than 3 stars."

Hannah E. "Durham needs more places like El Chapin - affordable, upbeat, and no-frills.I'm not generally a fan of Central American food, but the Plato Típico Chapin won me over - I actually went back a week later and ordered the same thing again! It's enough food for two people if you add an appetizer (probably even if you don't) and just varied enough to keep you both interested. The folded potato cakes are a nice crispy alternative to fries, and a better vehicle for sauce should you choose to use them that way. I think this was my first time having garnachas - like a little crispy mini-hamburger. And the stuffed pepper was truly stuffed - oozing with meat, cheese, and ribbons of some kind of leafy green and maybe part of the pepper, too.I kind of wish it came with beans in addition to rice, but no problem - just order it with one of their incredibly moist bean tamales. My dining partner got the chicharrones, which were also excellent - crunchy without being tough and hay-like on the inside.I recommend their mango juice (not too sweet, very fresh-tasting) and their champurrado (also not excessively sweet, very cinnamony)."
