"I am a pretty picky eater, but I do like Turkish Food (a similar cuisine), so when Lebanese friend mentioned coming to Sassool, I was game! The menu has a lot of nice meal options available. We ordered our food at the counter and someone brought our meals out to our table.I had a spinach pizzette, it was awesome! I sampled a bit of my friend's Baba Ghanouj, so tasty. The highlight for me was the fresh pita bread, absolutely mouth watering. The food was so flavorful! My friend loves this place too, so it's the real deal. I can't wait to come back and eat here again. The restaurant is located in a strip mall next to Trader Joe's, so come grab a meal before you do your grocery shopping."

"The food was freaking phenomenal. Super authentic place with very flavorful food with great textures (tender smokey meats and mouth watering dishes all around). We ordered the chicken platter and the mixed grill platter of steak and lamb. Both were incredible. Loved the soups, super flavorful. The chicken soup has little pasta stars and tastes kinda lemony and blew my mind. Green lentil soup was fantastic as well.Falafel delicious crispy and steamy. All the food tasted super fresh. So good. Hummus and baba ghanoush come with pita bread. Those were super good too. And the hot sauce that came out with the grilled platters was awesome and tasty too! Running out of adjectives haha it was good! Flavorful with a kick and went nicely with the Mandy rice (rice cooked with lamb broth).The only downside is the parking lot can get packed. We actually tried eating here last night and couldn't get a parking spot. The lot and the lot for the market next door were completely full. Also, the service moves at a glacial pace (don't come here if you're in a rush). I ordered hot tea at the start and didn't receive it until the end of the meal with our falafel and before we got the check. The food seems to come out in a somewhat random order? And kinda dirty as mentioned in other reviews (cigarette butts etc).All the reviews I read before coming here have been accurate: painfully slow service and kinda dirty (we sat on the outdoor patio). I called beforehand to check if they allow dogs because of the outdoor seating and the woman on the phone was kinda ambiguous and weird about it, asking if the dog was small and saying that they had other customers (we have a Saint Bernard) implying without saying it that customers would be uncomfortable with big dogs but I think she was probably projecting because nobody cared. In the end she admitted that they had a table available and said she would prepare it for us (the patio was empty besides one table). It's definitely kinda dirty but I also think that there's maybe not enough wait staff to handle the customer load.The review is basically just for the food. You get a ton of it, it's all incredible, and so worth the wait. Definitely will return again! Next time we'll try the desserts!"

"For a fast food place, this was pretty decent! You order your main dish which comes with a ton of sides you can choose from. I got the pita pocket plate which came with half a pita with beef and lamb shawarma which was my meat of choice. It was dressed with some taziki sauce. The pita was warm and fluffy and the meat was moist and flavorful, especially with the sauce. For my 2 sides, I got the beet salad and which was mixed with a pomegranate balsamic vinaigrette and the tabouli which is chopped parsley, tomato, cucumber and onion tossed in olive oil and lemon juice. Each of the side dishes was extremely fresh and the acidity helped brought out the freshness of the veggies. Overall a great meal!"

"Mediterranean Grill & Grocery is true diamond in the rough and I will hype their food up all day, everyday! Although they are located in an old building near a baseball field, this place is a true landmind for delicious food in South Durham. Mediterranean Grill & Grocery is by far my absolute favorite place to go for a gyro sandwich in the triangle. It's flavorful, juicy, assembled beautifully, and they don't skimp on the meat. They also have the best baba ghanoush, curried chick peas, roasted veggies and tabouli. I also love their curried couscous soup. Everything I"ve tried has always tasted super fresh. Their pita bread is always soft too even though it's not made in house and comes out of a bag they sell in the store. Overall, I can surely attest and say that I've never had anything here that I didn't like, and their quality and quantities are consistent.If you're in a hurry and coming here during dinner time I highly recommend placing a to go order over the phone and checking in what side salads they have. Hummus, baba ghanoush, and the tzaziki yogurt sauce seem to be constant, but if you're craving curried chickpeas like I do, just know that it's not an everyday day thing and you may want to call ahead."

"Haven't been here in years, but since they sent me a generous birthday coupon for a gyro I decided to accept their invitation!The cashier, Anna, was so welcoming and wished me a Happy Birthday when seeing my coupon. She was really wonderful. I ordered the lamb gyro and made it a combo meal by adding stuffed grape leaves and a drink and happily paid the difference. I got a mixture of the unsweetened ice tea with the sweetened that also has pineapple in it. So refreshing!When I went to get my order I was given a free piece of baklava, another birthday gift!! You guys, sign up for their newsletter!The gyro was absolutely delicious as were the stuffed grape leaves. I asked for a little more cucumber sauce on the side for my gyro which really brought it over the top. The pistachio baklava was excellent too!All in all a great experience and a big thank you for such a generous birthday gift!"

This place is beautiful, the service is superb and the food is delicious.This restaurant is centrally located in Raleigh in a section of the city with a few restaurants, hotels and bars within walking distance. The menu has quite a few options, and you can get virtually any drink from the full bar. My wife and I went on a late Saturday afternoon for an early dinner, and ordered the Charred Octopus, Hanger Steak and Local Burrata. Everything was delicious, I mean EVERYTHING! The service was great, common areas and restrooms were clean, and the decoration is beautiful (refer to the photos for details). There are quite a few affordable parking spots right in front of the restaurant.Overall, 100% recommended and we are definitely coming back!"

"Fresko is a excellent choice for healthier Mediterranean meals. I was famished and in the mood for Greek so I decided on the Build Your Own Bowl. I chose falafel and chicken as my protein, the spinach rice, added cucumbers, roasted red pepper, pickled onion, Kalamata olives, banana peppers and spicy feta, olive oil & cilantro as my sauce. This was the most flavorful, rich bowl I've had. I ordered the lemon soup but it wasn't authentic. Everything was perfection and plated well. My daughter enjoyed spanakopita (spinach pie) and loved it. It was her first time trying it. I will absolutely return again for a meal. Delicious !"

"I enjoyed my meal at Kabobi today. I'm thankful that they are in the food court for those who are following a special diet or Halal. With so many fried and overly processed foods in abundance, you can rely on Kabobi for a affordable wholesome meal. The reason many people choose unhealthy food, is because of the cheaper price, however, you will pay in poor health. I enjoyed the customer service from the manager. He discussed the vegetarian options with me. I decided on the chick peas, spinach and lentil Biriyani rice. Biriyani is a long grain rice that is very delicious with the lentils added. My daughter really enjoyed this on my plate and ate all of it. You must try it. I also tried the Tabbouleh and enjoyed that with my meal. Everything was cooked just right and I was very satisfied. "There's a lot of good about Mama Voulas: the people who take your order and make your food, the variety of items, the amount of food for the money (at least for the gyros).I ordered the traditional gyro. It's mildly seasoned, the tzatziki sauce is a nice counterbalance, the lettuce and tomatoes are visible and not chopped to a pulp. The pita itself is very lightly grilled This is a two-handed gyro. I had the traditional gyro. It didn't look like that much, at first. But after I took several bites and realized that I had barely made a dent, I realized exactly how much food there was. If I had read the menu more closely, I would have ordered the half.The Greek salad was fine. I've had better, though. Mostly lettuce (of course) but with 2 thick cubes of tomato, cucumber and feta and just enough black olives to make it more substantial. The Parmesan cheese was served in a tiny funnel of dough so you can add as much as you need. The half portion of salad was still a good deal compared with other menu items. I don't know that I'd go out of my way to visit Mama Voula's, but I wouldn't turn away from it either."

Started the meal on the wrong note. As I expected, the mezze were the highlight. We had the cold mezze sampler and it was excellent, but the warm humus was even better. I found the break okay but not as flakey or tasty as I've had at other Mediterranean restaurants. For my main course, I had chicken Sultan's Delight. It was good, with nice flavor, though the chicken bits (although organic) felt a little processed. Overall it was good fit from start to finish at a reasonable price."

Thinly shredded cucumber in the sauce is my favorite was to prepare it and that's just what they did here.Don't forget the baklava you can order while dining here as well! Perfect with the hummus and tzakiki sauce. The greek salad had the perfect amount of dressing to veggies ratio, and the kalamata olives and feta added a nice hit of contrast. The chicken was seasoned nicely, but if ordered within an hour or two, it may be dry. It appeared dry but was good. Perhaps a drizzle of broth or EVOO?The grape leaves, although okay, reminded me of those from a can. Overall, I'd eat here again with lots of unusual combos to try."

The favorite was the Tahina yogurt dip that comes with the falafel. I would highly recommend getting extra cups of that and dipping everything in it! The food, including the pork belly appetizer and the Lasagna with Greek salad, was all delicious. Other appetizers, such as calamari, beef, and lamb skewers, were also thoroughly enjoyed by our group. Despite the wait, everything was worth it. "I came on a Saturday evening with my wife, arriving at 5pm without a reservation and promptly getting seated.We started with the Warm Moroccan Hummus, which came with some of their housemade bread. The hummus had a lot of texture to it - not only were there whole chickpeas inside the hummus, it was also topped with sweet peppers, sumac onions, sultanas / raisins, and savory corn flakes, which all added an extra layer of crunch, sweetness, and acidity that went so well together. The bread was also delicious - it was probably my favorite thing about the meal. I loved the bread so much that I ordered another plate of just bread. It had a nice crunchy crust but was soft inside - definitely a must-try.I ordered the Spare Ribs, which had a peach-tamarind glaze and came with pickled cabbage. Even though I'm not the biggest fan of tamarind, the tamarind was not overpowering and actually went well with the sweetness of the glaze and tartness of the cabbage. There was smokiness in the seasoning that wasn't too spicy but added depth of flavor. The texture of the meat was perfectly bite-off-the-bone - a nice crust with a soft, juicy interior.My wife got the whole fried trout, and it was also enjoyable. The trout came out whole, but was fully deboned, so it was easy to eat. It came over a sweet potato puree, farro, tabbouleh, and parsnip and apples. The fish itself had such a crispy exterior, which I loved, and perfectly cooked interior - very moist, and not dry. The tamarind was a little heavier on this dish, but I thought the flavors overall were still good.The service was very friendly and prompt, and with it being a nice day, the outdoor seating overlooking Raleigh was perfect. Parking was no problem at all, and the space is clean and well-kept. Overall, we had a great experience!"

"Some of the best Turkish/Mediterranean food I've ever had is at Bosphorus. After almost a year of passing you by, I decided to stop by. I was warmly welcomed by all of the staff members. It was lunchtime and busy, but I did not mind waiting and was given a table that was meant for four. I offered to move, but the waiter would not hear anything of it. I was able to chill, read, and enjoy my food without any problems.Now the food. I started with their hummus that came with this thick, crusted bread that was great for dipping. Also, a plate of oil and peppers was complimentary. The hummus had tons of flavor without being spicy or salty--just so darn good. My falafel plate was the same--full of flavor without being overpowering. It came with five pieces of falafel, salad, yogurt dip, and rice. The rice was super soft and fluffy, and the yogurt dip, wow, again, so good and authentic! I enjoyed every bite until my pants told me I could eat no more, but something tells me their food will make amazing leftovers. I love the vibe of this place with the owners and staff being so friendly and welcoming. Everyone smiled at me, and I appreciated their great customer service and care. I can't wait to come back."

Everything was exploding with flavors and also looked good on the plate. Make reservations because it's definitely trendy.The restaurant itself is extremely beautiful and decorated so well. It reminds me of a place I'd look for when I go out of town. The bar and dining room is very aesthetically pleasing and makes you want to look nice and take pictures. Make sure you take a trip to the cool bathrooms. I came for brunch and got the mimosa carafe, biscuits, burger, french toast, and chicken and donut. The stand out was surprisingly the biscuit. My partner and I agreed this was the best biscuit we've ever tasted anywhere and it was paired with a nice jam and onion-y butter that I loved. The chicken was good as well and even though we weren't a fan of the bread for the french toast because it made it too crispy, it was still tasty and the chantilly was sooo flavorful. We also wanted some scrambled eggs since it was breakfast and even though it wasn't on the menu they delivered. I loved my experience here, the service was great, and I'll definitely be back for dinner and interested to see how the menu continues to change."

But at the same time, you have plenty of seats indoors and outdoors to sit.They have all types of other things to look at and buy like hookah accessories and tea sets. So it's worth shopping just to browse If nothing else as you wait for your food. I tried the chicken shawarma in the beef shawarma sandwiches. I thought that the sandwiches were good. The chicken really did me right, the beef was okay, it got a little bit chewy but it still had a pretty good flavor to it. I probably will stick with the chicken if I were going to go back though!Be careful of the lunch rush because you will be waiting in line if you don't! A lot of the lunch brush would consist of lunch goers as well as a lot of door dash people so just be aware that you may have to wait a bit because of that.There's outdoor seating when the weather permits. There isn't much of a view when you get outside to sit because it's just facing the street but if You wanted to go ahead and try to be outside and catch a breeze This was a good place and they gave it the opportunity to do that.They have a olive bar so if you want to try some different olives there you can, and there are a lot of them to pick from so it wouldn't hurt to try.Even at the part where they have the restaurant they still have meats that you could try. You can actually buy it from there because it is a store as well as a restaurant.The parking lot is a little bit of a type squeeze so just be aware, but at least it's free!"
