Chandra J. "Name is a beautiful sensory experience. From the time you walk in until the time you leave, you are taken away from Durham and into a tranquil garden of so many colors, scents, and tastes. I did not want to leave as it was absolutely amazing to experience! My coworkers and I met for a birthday and made a reservation. We had some difficulty finding the table, but the staff were very nice and helped us. We sat outside under an awning and ordered via a QR code on the table. Next to the QR code was a red flag that we could put up if we needed assistance. I decided to order the beef gimbap, which was delicious! I like that the roll came stuffed with the beef, carrots, and onions. I paired it with their mix of sauces. My favorite was their spicy aioli and house sauce. I got to try the shrimp gimbap, which was also delicious. The food did take a while to come out, but the servers were nice and let us know that there was a backup. It was worth the wait!I would love to come back and try one of their rice bowls as well as their kombucha that is on tap. The atmosphere alone would bring me back."

Toshi I. "I have yet to try their Korean BBQ but their Dolsot Bibimbap (hot stone bowl with meat n veggies) is solid. Loved the shallower bowl which gives more surface area for toasted rice flavor. The Kimchi Jigae was decent and the banchan side dishes were good. The side dish of mayo-based macaroni with raisins was reminiscent of church meals that someone's mom or grandma always made. I requested a refill on that one. Nice way to offset the heat and spice. We'll be back for the Korean BBQ!"

Sarah G. "After years of wanting to come here, I finally made it! It was worth the wait, because the fish is absolutely amazing.I had the sushi special, which is six pieces of nigiri, with a simple roll of your choice (salmon or tuna). Everything was delicious, except I wasn't a huge fan of the squid, but that's OK because I don't think it's for everyone. Our waiter was really nice, and everything was fantastic! Definitely recommend it, especially for people who want vegetarian sushi."

Allan A. "Went with a group of 15 for lunch. They were expecting us and were able to take our orders, serve us, and let us pay in one hour. Amazing for such a large group. The chicken tenders were delicious. Great crunch and a tad spicy. Kimchi was quite good. This is not a fancy place, but it was clean and the food was hot and tasty. I need to try something else to determine if this should be 5 stars, not 4, and plan to be back soon."

We got 2 of the biggest boats and they did not disappoint! The biggest boat I've ever seen! The sashimi was outstanding and the sushi is on point! My oldest son said the fried ice cream was the best dessert he's ever had! This is a must visit!"

Meg L. "Our go to Korean place when we are looking for tofu soup on a cold day! We also always get the seafood pancake as it is so delicious and crispy. The tofu has pieces of zucchini and onions, so not too bland. I love the pickled cucumber banchan. If you're feeling up for a meal, they have great options to combine your tofu soup to make into a meal. You can get the bulgogi, kalbi beef, or grilled mackerel and it's the perfect combo."

Anna P. "If you watch a lot of kdramas, you end up craving the foods that they're eating. They tend to show a lot of KFC (Korean fried chicken not Kentucky fried chicken). And I've been craving some KFC anyway since it's been a while so I knew I needed some takeout from Chicken Bee today! Also, it's cold and rainy today so that was also a factor in deciding tonight's dinner. Chicken Bee is my favorite KFC restaurant in Durham!I will say that the chicken isn't as crispy as BonChon's but they are more generous with the sauce. I always order soy garlic wings and sometimes will get the half order of the hot and spicy chicken. I decided to just order both today since I don't have it that often! Leftovers are also a plus for me since I've been too lazy to cook lately. I like to throw them in the toaster oven or air fryer to reheat. The sauces have great flavor and the chicken is juicy and not dry. I also appreciate that the wings are on the bigger side. The hot and spicy is a pretty good spice level for me; it's got good heat and is tolerable. I always get pickled radish as my side.I ordered on doordash for 2 reasons: I didn't feel like driving in the rain and I know parking is very limited there. I do wish they had a better way of packaging the food so it's not as exposed and could be easily tampered with. The middle part of the bag is tied pretty tightly but it's still open because the handles aren't tied together. Also, the box has a small opening that you can see from the top of the bag."

Vaibhav M. "When I think back to our time at MinGa, I instantly think of a beautiful sunny yet breezy summer day (in February), sitting outside and sipping on hot soup and being blown away by the most amazingly sweet server.Yes, we went here during lunch hour and had the pleasure of sitting outside. I ordered the Seafood Suntofu and stone bibimbap and loved everything we received. To start off with the suntofu, it was essentially a soup with egg, tofu and different kinds of seafoods in it. I initially thought it to be a bit mild for my taste so I requested for some chilli paste/oil and that made it perfectly spicy for me.The stone bibimbap was amazing! I secretly wish I had ordered that but thats the plus of going out with others, you get to try many things at once. This was nicly spicy, and HOT I loved the saices they brought out with it. The crunchy rice from the bootm and the hot chicken made the dish irresistible for me! I know already what i will order next time.Strangely we only got 1 servng of the Banchan, but it was good enough as we were full by the end of this meal anyways."

Cindy C. "I've been here a few times and it's definitely a solid spot to visit if you want your fix of homey Korean food or if you're looking for Korean groceries! Plus they now have a little cafe as well as a K-pop store upstairs if you're interested. When you enter, the restaurant area is to your right and you can order at the front. It can take a while (~20 min last time I visited) for the food to be ready so I usually just browse the grocery store. I've tried several of the rice-based dishes here including the bibimbap, bulgogi dupbap (stir fried bulgogi beef with rice), and jaeyook dupbap (spicy stir fried pork with rice) -- portions are huge and everything has been quite good."

Daniel B. "We had a great dinner at M Pocha in downtown Durham. Our well-traveled friend from Nashville, who ate with us here, said it was the best meal he's had in a year. He told me I could quote him in my Yelp review. In barbecue circles, he's known as Speedy of the Barbecue Bros: https://bit.ly/3KlTpgdI personally wouldn't go as far to say this was the best meal I've had in a year, but it was certainly very good. I give M Pocha a solid four stars. If you're not familiar with the "M Restaurants" of Durham, they're among the best Asian restaurants in the Triangle. Their most popular restaurant, M Sushi ( https://bit.ly/3QnVQTo ), has the best sushi in the Triangle, in my opinion. M Restaurants set the bar high. The "M" stands for Michael, Michael Lee, chef-owner of the M Restaurants.M Pocha is named after Korean street tents/stalls called pojangmacha. While Michael is Korean and this restaurant was inspired by pojangmacha or "pocha," the menu spans a variety of Asian cuisines, from Chinese to Thai. Like many restaurants in this part of Durham, M Pocha doesn't have a dedicated parking lot. My friends got lucky and found a spot in the nearby free lot off Morris St (same block). Otherwise, it's metered street and surface lot parking. If you don't want to park on the street, I suggest parking in the municipal lot at 111 W Chapel Hill St. You can walk through a brick alley and across Five Points to get to M Pocha. Parking is enforced Monday-Friday, 8am-7pm, except for city holidays. This is a small restaurant. If I recall correctly, the max occupancy I saw on the wall was 49 people. Reservations are recommended. Like all the M Restaurants, except for M Kokko, M Pocha is on OpenTable. Book your reservation using OpenTable and earn dining points which can be used to redeem restaurant discounts, Amazon gift cards, and hotel stays. Here's we, four adults and two kids, shared:Cocktails* Cocktail of the Day ($16) - some sort of whiskey sour cocktail with egg white (I don't remember the exact description)* House of the Rising Sun ($20) - Hibiki Whisky, Bekseju (Korean herb wine), charred lemon, miso caramelSmall Plates* Lobster "Mac" & Cheese ($26) - crispy rice cakes, Mornay sauce, herb breadcrumbs, chili poached lobster* Shrimp Toast ($17) - Japanese milk bread, white shrimp, wasabi sweet chili sauceDumplings* Meat Mandu ($12) x2 - traditional Korean dumpling: ground pork, mushrooms, chili crisp, kimchi, buchu chives; handmade fresh daily* Crab Shumai ($16) - crab meat, shrimp, kani, cabbage, scallions, yuzu and truffle ponzu sauceMeat* Chicken Karaage ($14) - marinated fried chicken, special spicy dipping sauce* Spicy Pork Buns ($17) - DIY steamed buns, spicy Korean BBQ pork, pickled cucumbers, ssam* Meat Plate ($48) - grilled galbi marinated Korean short rib, dry rub Iberico pork chop, duck fat pickled oyster mushrooms, seasonal kimchi, grilled onions, choice of rice or side salad (we chose rice)Rice* Chashu Don ($19) - braised pork belly, gravy, spicy cucumber salad, six-minute egg, scallionsNoodles/Soup* Xiao Mian (Chongqing Fire Noodles) ($19) - alkaline noodles, ground pork, gai lan, pickled mustard greens, housemade chili oil, sesame sauce, peanuts, cilantro* Drunken Noodle ($16) - stir-fried rice noodles, tofu, broccoli, carrots, peppers, tomatoes, beech mushrooms, Thai chilis, spicy chili sauce, peanuts, Thai basilSides* Chili Crisp Garlic Fries with Kimchi Aioli ($6)* Kimchi (regularly $5, but we got this for free; I think it came with a dish or maybe we got it because we ordered a lot)In general, everything was very good to excellent. I think the group favorite dishes were the Lobster "Mac" & Cheese, Shrimp Toast, Spicy Pork Buns, and Xiao Mian. My favorites were the latter two. The buns were freshly steamed and the pork was succulent. I enjoyed the Sichuan hot and numbing spice of the Xiao Mian. Every dish contained high-quality ingredients and was presented beautifully.I also really liked and recommend the Chicken Karaage for a simple, comforting fried chicken dish. The Drunken Noodles were tasty and are worth getting as well. M Pocha's Drunken Noodles can stand up to the best Drunken Noodles I've had in the Triangle. The noodle texture was terrific. What kept me from giving M Pocha five stars was the Meat Plate and Chashu Don. While tender and good quality, the pork chop on the Meat Plate lacked flavor. The Chashu Don pork had fantastic slices of pork belly and a perfectly-cooked egg, but there was too much rice and it was just soaked in sauce (didn't taste the best). We and the table next to us got complimentary dessert. It was like a sweet version of Crab Rangoon. The cocktails were well-made, refreshing, and delicious.Service was great. Our server was Ben and he did an amazing job. The dishes were paced as they were ready. Due to the limited table space, Ben was quick and creative in making more room for us as new dishes arrived.M Pocha opened in June 2019."

Hannah E. "I'll go out of my way to visit any Korean place that offers eun deh gu jorim (stewed black cod dish with turnips and tofu), and this place does. Luckily, 7 of my friends were also willing to go out of their way, and we were able to have a big family style dinner and sample a bunch of different things!I'll start with the not-so-great:- Many of their dishes are unnecessarily sweet. Particularly the beef bulgogi, which has almost a sugar-candy coating.- The 'Korean BBQ' dishes really have no business being called that or costing as much as they do. At any other place, they would come out with wraps, extra fermented veggies, etc. Here it's just a tiny bowl of rice and a small plate of meat and onions - and it's in the high $20's - $30's depending on what you order.- The service was bad enough to impact our meal - usually I won't write about service because who cares, but he gave us beer bottles with no way to open them, sundubu with no spoons or serving bowls, and took almost half an hour to get the table some water. They were clearly understaffed and it wasn't wholly his fault, but still. The good:- They had one of the best haemool pajeon I've had in recent memory, really crispy, puffed, and fresh. I didn't even mind that they didn't serve it with any sauce.- Good tteokbokki. This dish can get pretty gummy and, honestly, boring after a few bites, but they kept it interesting with a light sauce and lots of cabbage and onions- What can be an oft-small, afterthought fried mackerel in other places was a behemoth, crisp, tender, meaty monster here! This side dish could have been a full meal.- Once we had spoons to eat our sundubu with, that was also delicious!"

It has become my favorite KFC in the Triangle since I moved to Durham.I was so happy to see that they have a booth in the H-Mart food court. I ordered a 6-piece wing meal, which is one of the few meals you can get for under $10. The wings were just as delicious as I remembered!
