"Fresh Local Ice Cream serves arguably the best ice cream in the Triangle. The base ice cream itself possesses an unparalleled, creamy texture. The flavor of the ice cream tastes buttery and has a touch of malt which adds a subtle, slightly savory note to each bite. My wife, brother in law, and I tried the monthly special flavors of blueberry pancake and salted caramel oreo. The ice cream makers here do not skimp on the mix ins, and each variety was chock full of pieces (pancake batter and Oreos, respectively). As the name implies, the freshness of the ice cream was evident in both taste and texture. While both flavors were fantastic, the unique blueberry pancake won us over the most with plenty of fresh blueberry puree, a buttery base ice cream taste, and addictive pancake pieces in the ice cream. The salted caramel Oreo held its own with a subtle caramel backbone that complimented the chocolatey Oreos quite well. A waffle cone with two large scoops, while a little steep at about $7, was big enough for three of us to share. Plenty of outdoor tables are available for seating. I admittedly don't even like ice cream too much and adored the scoops here. As such, Fresh Local Ice Cream should be the first and last stop for any frozen treat fan in the area."
"Been hearing about this place from friends for quite some time now. Finally found the truck to try it. Delish experience. We waited for the line to die down but honestly it didn't take too long. And once we paid, they were speedy. The cashier was super nice and friendly. The prices were a shock but I mean it is lobster soooooWe both got the cold roll and it was so good. They didn't add a lot of flavorings to it but I liked it that way. You could really taste the freshness of the lobster. I'd definitely try the grilled cheese or hot one next time. Or maybe the bisque? We also got an order of tots and they were pretty standard. Nothing super special. But a nice add on. For two rolls and tots were talking like $50. Overall it was a delightful splurge. Filling enough for a light lunch but I wouldn't get it often. Love a place with a good story though."

"Another great meal at Arepa Culture. I took my daughter for lunch today. She is vegetarian and was thrilled that they had beyond burger as a protein. She chose avocado as one of her toppings and was pleased with the generous portion. And, like me, she fell in love with the green cilantro sauce. I chose the chicken saute as my protein with toppings of plantains and onion/peppers. Good portion size for lunch. I probably took half home for lunch another day."
"Oh yeah! These guys get it right! Good to see some honest-to-goodness Puerto Rican food out in the community! This place does not disappoint. I got the seared ahi (Ahí Está) bowl and it was delicious! The mango salsa, rice, beans and tostones were all on point. The icing on the cake, which I got super-excited about, was that they have mallorcas! They're basically Spanish brioche rolls that typically get dusted with powdered sugar and sliced in half to use for breakfast sandos. They're a pain to make at home, so it's nice to have them made for me!Bonus points for the sofrito they serve with yuca! It takes almost exactly like the sofrito I make at home, so it proves to me this place is the real deal!"
"I can't believe I've never been to Lumpy's! I've had their ice cream at events around town but here they are, only a few miles from other businesses I frequent. I love ice cream and there are definitely many choices at the grocery store, but there is something special about going to an ice cream shop. Does it enhance the flavor? Maybe not, but smell has been known to (science) and Lumpy's smells of waffle cones and vanilla deliciousness.I've gotten away from visiting local and this Lumpy's visit was part of my efforts to improve. On this Sunday around 2pm it was pretty empty which allowed me to feel comfortable asking to sample a couple flavors before committing (which is welcomed anyway). I sampled Anna's Anise, which was so unique and refreshing but I couldn't see eating a cup of it. My husband sampled Montezumas Revenge, a very spicy chocolate. The nice young man serving us did ask him first if he's ok with spice - he was warned. Even my husband who will dump an entire spice tray on his Thai food said it was legitimately spicy! So again, a very intriguing flavor but not up to an entire cup of it. I ended up with hazelnut coffee which was fantastic and he got Apple Pie, also very tasty. The creamy, icy balance stayed perfect throughout. There were so many choices, and from what I understand, they use local, natural ingredients. I will be back to try more of the regular offerings along with seasonal flavors. The inside of the shop is simple, not trendy or themed, just lots of nods to the Lumpy's brand and the Wake Forest area. You can feel the love here. There is a small parking lot and it's also walkable from White Street."
"Open currently for take out only this place is a well hidden, inexpensive, seafood dream. The room itself has all the chairs pushed to one side, some covered in plastic wrap. The workers all wear masks as well. You can tell they are still concerned about covid. I came here at 545pm on a Sunday and was promptly (and curtly) told they were only open for 10 more minutes. Undeterred I quickly ordered and was given a to go bag minutes later. My friends were put off by the brusque demeanor of the owner, but not me. Usually if someone is that gruff its because the food speaks for itself. And BOY DID IT! I got the fried shrimp plate which came with AMPLE fries and 3 hush puppies. It was DIVINE. I will be back for SURE!"
"I had Oak City bookmarked for some time to visit while at Morgan St Food Hall. The platters always look so addicting. I was dining with a friend and we decided to share a large platter of fish, chips, scallops, oysters, and brown sugar hush puppies. Service was slow with 1 cook and 1 cashier. Food prep took roughly under 25 minutes. Our food was fresh but some of the scallops and oysters were undercooked. Some of the batter sliding off of the fish. The quality of the fish was perfect but the prep was the issue. The batter here is tasty but the fish needed more seasoning from within. Tasty on the outside, bland on the inside. We were given hush puppies that unfortunately were hard and overcooked. We were not provided the proper condiments for seafood. No lemons and cheap tarter sauce. It tasted terrible. There is potential here if these areas can be improved."
"Food Truck Time: El Jefecito at TapLine GrowlerThese tacos are delicious! Tacos are $3.50 each or 3 for $10. We tried the steak, hash, chorizo, cauliflower and fish. All of these were so tasty, I couldn't pick a favorite. I can't wait to try this food truck again soon."
"No. Just no.It has to be difficult to fry fish when you're doing it in a food truck. There are a lot of variables to consider. I think it can be done though, as there are some that do it well. Here, not so much. This was inexcusably bad. I like not-fried fish as my first choice, but when I do get fried, the one thing I don't want is overcooked, dry fish. So what did I get? Overcooked, dry fish. I didn't see that on the menu, but there it was on my plate. So I guess it must be part of the secret menu. The fries were cooked better than the fish. They were quite good. At least for the first few bites. And then the sugar (it tasted like sugar) that was part of the seasoning began to overpower the spices. Maybe it was just a bad day for my taste buds. But no. just no."
"Absolutely fantastic spot. The interior is quite fun, casual, and very clean. The service was super friendly and efficient with the worker providing incredible suggestions and insight about the options. The menu is expansive so I definitely utilized their suggestions. The food is amazing, every bit was packed with freshness and incredible flavors with everything from the meat to the sides being seasoned and cooked perfectly to accomplish great textures, the meat was fork tender while the roasted veggies had the perfect crispy crust. Additionally, the portions were perfectly sized to fill you up. The pricing was very reasonable, and while you will be filled up your tastebuds will be left craving another bite. Would highly recommend this amazing addition to the area and will definitely be returning to try the rest of their menu. Also as an fyi, added bonus is that everything is Halal"
"Located off of Glenwood Ave in Raleigh! Per usual, I got 3 tacos: Asada, Barbacoa, and Pastor! I also got their agua de Jamaica (hibiscus) Tacos were good, Jamaica came in a giant cup, and the salsa roja was lowkey fire"

This has been a favorite for years. Absolutely the best ice cream hands down. I've been on a weight loss journey for the past few years so coming here is a rare and special treat.

I've been dying to sample Cousins since they came to the area but something always gets in the way. Today I was driving in Greenville going about my weekly errands when I saw the Cousins truck in a local dealership parking lot but they were not yet open. By the time I finished my errands they were open and I stopped by for lunch. The service was great. The cashier was warm, friendly and efficiently took my order. Within 5 minutes my order was ready. I snapped a picture for my fellow yelpers, hit it with a spritz of fresh lemon juice and took a bite. It was perfection. The lobster was chilled but perfectly cooked. Not rubbery at all and extremely fresh. There was also plenty of it. The mayo and the freshly toasted split roll were the perfect compliments. Both were fresh and in the right quantity. Though the price was just under $25 with tip it was well worth it. I will definitely be back. I'm glad I finally got to experience a little slice of Maine in NC.

Pretty good! I prefer the green sauce over the orange. The spicy orange sauce goes better with the beef arepa and the chicken goes better with the green. The other thing is a vegetarian sweet corn pancake (cachapas) that comes with sweet cream upon request but they just gave it to us without us asking haha. Definitely nicer with the cream. The diet coke part of the soda fountain wasn't working. Only clear soda water came out.

We came here for my Birthday Dinner before a show at the Carolina Theater. Lemme tell you. Come here now. It was delicious. The restaurant has a lot of charm. Wasn't busy at all. You order from a touch screen at the counter. Food came out quick. I'm talking 10 minutes or less. ( at least it felt like it) wait staff was friendly. The empanadas were packed full of flavor. The Queso Frito was fried to perfection. Old HavanaSteamed white rice, pink beans, ropa vieja, maduros, fresh sliced avocado The ropa vieja was so flavorful and tender. Best I've had in a while, The RDU to SJUWhite rice, pink beans, pork belly confit, maduros, fresh sliced avocado, guava maple sauceSo delicious. We shared plates so we took a bunch home, huge portions. Can't wait for the leftovers! Seriously can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. Come here now. Give them your business if your want some delicious Puerto Rican food

I wish I could do more stars!! I had Lumpy's many years ago and was the best homemade ice cream I ever had. Still today they continue to hold the title. Staff is really nice! There was a car in the handicap and I have a disability that affects my walking. The owner(I kind of remember that mustache) came and helped me in. Store nice and clean. Store all alone with plenty of parking. Very visible . Make sure you go or book it. You won't regret it!!

Such good! I always try to stop here before game night on Thursdays at Moon Dog. This is my go-to: garlic shrimp plate. Includes boiled potatoes, corn, and a chunk of sausage. For $16!

Visited the Morgan street food hall and loved the ambiance! Such a cool vibe!Wife ordered from this place and I couldn't agree more. Best way to check the place out is to order their key entrée. If they can't get the basics right, how much more the more fancy ones. They didn't disappoint! Fish was seasoned and fried exquisitely! The chips were the right size and seasoned just as well. The cashier was sweet and friendly too. Will definitely return for a second round!

"Very good tacos from a small restaurant (or food truck) in Durham"We just learned that the old "Libby's" restaurant on Hillsborough Rd is gone and that El Jefecito has taken its place, so we ordered some via DoorDash on a Saturday night. Most of us got tacos, though my wife also got a cheese pupusa. We were VERY impressed at the range of interesting taco choices. I'll rank our dishes below.1: Fish tilapia taco. This came LOADED with toppings-- pan-seared tilapia, good helpings of slaw, remoulade sauce, and mango relish. I LOVED this. My daughter thought the fish could've been more seasoned, but I thought it was outstanding.2: Steak tacos. Not quite fair that I'm ranking this one as #2 since my son got these and no one else tasted them (and he didn't taste others), but he liked it a lot. Good helpings, lots of peppers & onions, and a bit of horseradish. He reported the flavor of the beef was excellent-- almost like lamb. Maybe should be #1?3: Cauliflower tacos. We were skeptical, but it was really good. My daughter actually liked this even more than the fish. "It didn't taste like cauliflower" is true, but the mix of the veggies and goat cheese was flavorful and yummy. I liked the fish more, but this was a solidly good choice.4: Bulgogi tacos. We thought these would be beef, and I honestly still don't know what it was, but I doubt it was beef. The bulgogi spice was good. Good helpings of daikon and sriracha mayo. It had some kimchi, though I would've put more. It was decent.5: Hash tacos. Potatoes, chili poblana, and more. It was "just OK". I wouldn't order this again. My wife found it a bit too spicy for her, but her spice tolerance is really low.6: Cheese pupusas. The dough was fine, and the curtido was good, but the cheese inside literally seemed like a square of American cheese or Velveeta. Just no.Two things not listed-- the chicken tacos (my wife got them and liked them but didn't especially comment), and the churros (OMG THESE WERE AMAZING-- coated with delicious sugar!). Totally get the churros.Overall, this will DEFINITELY be joining our family takeout rotation. Overall, we're fans. Just avoid the cheese pupusas.

"Phenomenal food truck with fresh, hot, and flavorful food with wonderful customer service. We went to a comedy show at Mordecai Beverage Co. and Berto's Chimi was there. We had the original and yuca fries. Would highly recommend it if you have the chance to stop by their truck. We will definitely order from here again."
"Y'all ain't even know how much money I've spent on the #5 breakfast burrito at City Bus (currently known as Taco King USA , until he gets his other bus fixed up). The location is in the parking lot right in front of Carolina Detail place. Mac or Emilio, the owner of the bus handles the monetary transactions while his wife does the cooking. He sells a variety of tacos, burritos, tortas, drinks, etc.I cannot talk enough about the #5 breakfast burrito which contains chorizo (Mexican sausage), bacon, eggs , rice , and beans. Get that green sauce too. Ughh. PS. He is consistently closed on Mondays, but is typically there everyday from 8PM-2AM (even though his hours state otherwise). He is sometimes closed on certain days when he has catering events, although there is no social media coverage when he's not gonna be there . I'm still addicted to his food though. Gah these burritos smack."
"I've been here twice in the past two weeks and have not regretted coming. These tacos are authentic, fresh, and tasty. The workers are nice and they get your food to you fairly quickly. The chipotle sauce is shwae with a capital S. My favorite tacos are the steak and barbacoa. The cherry on top is that the prices are veryyy reasonable!"
"Do not sleep on the jerk pork plate from this truck. They will LOAD your container with so many pieces of blackened yet fall-apart tender pork that it'll be hard to open it without it exploding. They leave allllll the delicious fat on, as they should (but not enough places do) so the flavor is intense enough to stand up to the also naturally intense jerk seasoning. The mac and cheese side is great, and the rice and peas are surprisingly coconutty (I guess not hugely surprising given the name of the truck). 'More peas' would be my one nitpick, but it's a small one."
"From the outside, Grandotes Taco Grill appears to be just another Mexican themed food truck but once you take your first bite the truth is in the flavor! My husband was competing in the 2017 North Carolina's Strongest Man and Woman Strongman competition inside the Dolton Area and was in need of a decent meal in between events. The Grandotes Taco Grill food truck was well kept and visually appealing from the outside making it an acceptable choice for lunch. Once I saw the menu and multiple happy customers enjoy their food, I knew I had hit the jackpot! Each item we ordered included fresh ingredients, appropriate amounts of seasoning, and was cooked to perfection! Two carnitas tacos, two pollo tacos, and two orders of chips with salsa later, my husband and I were full and ready to finish the competition! While this was an unexpected meal, we truly enjoyed their menu items and would return again to their truck location for another delicious taco or two!"
"This Mexican food restaurant, @birrieriaelpatron323 in the downtown Raleigh, NC area, is the real deal. Authentic food served up fresh. We tried the taco rojo (3) and the Torta. These drinks are out of this world. You must experience this. The Horchata I'm holding is in a food service container. It's a huge drink. All of the Agua Fresca come in this container with fun toppings added to the lid depending on order. Our tacos and tortas were so delicioso!! My son said that this place and @lacostenita2022 in Greensboro, NC are tied for best Mexican food in North Carolina. We visited on a Saturday and the food trucks out front were grilling fresh meats that smelled so good and customers were having their meals at the picnic tables. It was a nice Weekend vibe with mariachi playing on the loud speakers in the parking lot. I hope to be back soon!! I'm always craving good Mexican."
"I have been here countless times and everytime the quality level remains the same no matter what type of tacos I get. The carne Asada, al pastor and chorizo are standbys. I really need to try sopes next time im there. Its a bit of an odd setup with a small dining room in what looks to be an old car garage that is kind of in the open so expect it to be hot in the summer or cold in the winter because youre essentially eating outside. Parking is limited but I have never had a problem."
"My family and I had the opportunity to Grab CRAVE to go and it was great. We took of advantage of their $2 hot dogs + 2 free toppings and it came with a chips and a drink! We ordered one plain, one with ketchup and one with chili + Cole slaw and we thought it was delicious! The staff is very nice and welcomed us into the store! The restaurant was clean and the drinks were fresh! I love that the restaurants has multiple TVs which would be perfect for sports games. For parking the parking lot can fill up quickly but there is a parking deck connected to the shopping center that you can us! We look forward to going back because we heard that the hot sausage is delicious. Overall solid restaurant in a great location"
"Omggggg! The food here is incredible! The portions are astronomical and inexpensive! As a Nigerian, I will say we are very ummmm critical and particular about our food! The food here is amazing and you can taste the authenticity in his food! You can tell that the chef puts love and VERY EXPENSIVE, quality flavors and spices in the food! If you cannot make it to Lagos, no worries the food here taste like you went to a 5 star restaurant in Lagos! Yesss from a food truck! Very impressed! The Suya is amazing! The Egusi and fufu are sooooo good!!! And this brother makes Mac and Cheese like nobody's business! Chicken sandwich is giving these "other" places a serious run for their money! I've never had ANYTHING bad here! Give it a go! You will not be disappointed!"
"So I love a good food truck, something about the small truck creating big flavor just gets me excited. Ok that's enough about me! I ordered the Curry goat with peas and rice and vegetable. I love Jamaican food for the complex flavors and depth of richness. This did not disappoint. The curry goat was rich and bold, a little heat and savory goodness. The rice and peas were a little dry and lacking a lot of flavor but they complimented the curry goat well. The vegetables were delicious! I am bias and love cabbage but they were crisp and tasty. I will be visiting this truck again to get my Irie Flavor on!"
"I kept seeing their fliers all around my job, so I decided to give them a shot. I have been craving candied yams for quite some time & I never got the kind I loved...with the syrup...sweet and delicious!!! I have finally got what I needed here!!! Their candied yams are DELICIOUS. I actually got their food 2 days in a row. Lol. The wingettes were not really fresh the first night & neither were the shrimp. I let that go because the yams made up for it. The second night I got a fish sandwich. It was fresh. My son liked their Mac-n-cheese. I will definitely go back!"
"Delicious, fresh, flavorful! Got the steak and chorizo tacos, rice, and soup. All were very good, but the spicy sauce added just enough extra kick for me. I recommend it if you're interested in authentic Mexican eats."
"Food Truck Time: Pana's Flavors at The MillWe grabbed dinner at this food truck and had an okay experience. We tried the melted cheese corn, sweet plantains and a few empanadas. The empanadas were huge but the flavors were just okay. We tried the ground beef, chicken and chicken with cheese. The cheese corn was too much cheese for me but I did like the plantains. I'd be curious to try a few other menu items."
"Havana Spin is a Cuban food truck that sits on Ten-Ten Road near the corner of Kildaire Farm Road. My mom and I visited for lunch and split a ham croqueta, tamale and cuban sandwich. The food was good and a few other menu items caught my eye so I'll have to return soon to try those."
"This food was amazing! Fresh, hot, and quick. Look, you know this food is good, when customers are in the parking lot telling you what to order! This was my first time stopping by, I was in the area and decided to stop. Its a small food truck, with bright colors. There is plenty of parking as it was located in the parking lot of Food Lion and Home Depot off of Six Forks Rd. We decided on the recommended cuban sandwich, steak sandwich, and croquettes. It came to about $32 before tip. Not one thing we order disappointed! The cuban sandwich is Miami style, for reference. The croquette were perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Paired with a savory dipping sauce that was a great add!Oh and let me not forget that steak sandwich...my my my just try it. Try it all =)"
"We discovered that this delicious food truck was coming to Zebulon on Cinco de Mayo. We wanted fresh authentic tacos. They had delicious tacos for $2 and a yummy quesadilla for $10. It was easy to call ahead our order and we picked it up. Great presentation. I hope to try them again soon."
"Ordered from the food truck when it was at Havoc Brewing. The red truck with a pretty extensive menu had a nice ambiance. I walked up and they took my order right away and said come back in 10 or 15, one or the other. It was ready after I got a beer, sat down with friends and walked back out. The salsa comes in teeny tiny cups. Good thing you get two. Unfortunately, they were out of the red sauce, so I got two of the green. The Pollo gringo which came with a bag of chips tasted pretty good if a little bland, glad I had the salsa to pour on top. A bit disappointed with the amount I got for the price. The chips I had left over went in the trash b/c they were not that good. An average Mexican food truck but worth a try."
"Food Truck Time: Caribbean Kicker at HollyFest in Holly SpringsI tried this food truck at an event and it took a total of 50 minutes from the line to order to receive my food (the majority of time waiting was to get my food). I ordered the Island Shrimp Bowl. It was rice and shrimp with a sauce and seasoning, I wanted more ingredients to the bowl than that. It was good but there was too much rice to the other ingredients and the shrimp were a tad overcooked. The main driver behind my review outside of the basic bowl is the wait time, my husband visited two food trucks and returned before I got my food."
