"Do a tour So much fun lots to learn. First we sat down and had 6 flights, for me they were big I think I finished 2. When we got there the place was busy the one bartender they had did a great job handling all the people and making sure everyone had the right flights to taste. Then we took the tour. Our tour guide walked us through all the brewing process and the storage areas including the refrigerator. He was fun and informative. At the end of the tour they gave us a souvenir glass. Enjoy!"
"I am a bit bias but house of hops is amazing. My neighbor owns it and as a result we're always heading over when we need to stock up on beer. Doesn't matter if it's just a six pack for ourselves or more for a party Keith always has what we're in the mood for. I love this og location and there are a rotating selection f food trucks weekly as well. Highly recommend if you haven't already checked out house of hops!"
"We went here for lunch and had a great experience. The service was fantastic. Our server was very friendly and gave us good recommendations. I had the onion soup which was very very good. My wife got the half sandwich and salad special. The chicken salad was fresh and delicious. The salad had lots of veggies and a nice dressing. The place has a very nice easygoing vibe. Two people from the kitchen brought us our food in a very timely fashion. This is a good lunch spot for singles, couples or large group."
"Incendiary Brewing is based out of Downtown Winston-Salem but they have a location in Raleigh. The spot is really nice and the beer list is huge. They do not offer flights but you can order various sizes of beers. I ordered two 5 oz pours then a can of one of my favorites IPA's, Prosody. This spot is a must visit."
"Nickelpoint Brewery is the quintessential neighborhood bar. You don't go there for the decor or because the atmosphere is chic and super swanky or hister-esc like some of these new places. Whether it was their intention or not, Nickelpoint is bringing in the neighborhood! One of the reasons might be the odd location of one of Raleigh's newer (but certainly not newest!) brewery; located deep in a neighborhood off Five Points. I'm an IPA drinker, and while their English IPA won't blow you away, it's definitely on par with other Triangle Breweries for quality and complexity. With a monthly dog competition (dogs gain points every time their owner[s] visit) where a dog wins the converted "dog of the month" award, this place is FULL of dogs of all sizes and shapes. Along with darts, giant jenga, cornhole and trivia once a week, there's plenty of entertainment. When the weather's nice, you can lounge outside on the picnic tables and grab a bite from the food truck of the night (every night BUT Monday--but they make-up for that with $4 drafts on Mondays!). I wouldn't tell someone visiting the Triangle to make this a destination spot, but for a local looking for a chill and neighborly environment, this may be exactly what you're looking for."
"Gizmo has their third location in Durham. It's in a neat spot with a good mix of indoor and outdoor seating. The beer and game selections were good. You can also buy games and merchandise. If you are in the area, it's definitely worth checking it out. Cheers!"
"I am sad that White Rabbit Brewery has closed; however, I am excited to see that this space is still a brewery and that it is now Vicious Fishes! They have a fantastic selection of beers and wine, variety is extremely important. I was able to try several 5oz tasters and my favorite was the sour [Vicious Fishes PiloSour - Dragonfruit - Guava]. A few other notes, Wii is available to play [you can kick ass in bowling like I did] and you can order food from Texas Pit BBQ [limited menu, we picked it up before we went]. In the end, chill staff with great beer!"
"I only visited once before deciding to host my leaving-Durham going away party here, because of their creative burrito menu, expansive and comfortable deck, and friendly but casual service! All the employees were cool with 13 people showing up unannounced, staying for 3 hours, and playing a loud raucous game of Telephone Pictionary along the edge of the outdoor deck. They even helped facilitate a surprise cake and provided the knife and plates!I appreciate the burrito menu, its rotating vegan options, and the fact that it has such ingredients as cherry-soda braised pork (melt-in-your-mouth), fried squid (always tender, accompanied by oft-scorching peppers), collard greens and bacon marmalade, and fried broccoli. Not everything is a hit all the time, but it is more often than not, and in my opinion it's better to take risks than to stay boring. (But if you want to stay boring, they have a basic burrito too, which I have heard tell is not actually boring at all.)I love their 'Phoebe' chocolate caramel shake, too. Really caramelly!"
"Too many kids, I did not enjoy sipping my beer and getting rammed with a tricycle. I really liked the beer so that was unfortunate. I've been to the restaurant several times so it was cool to finally check out the brewery. It was also too hot, the cooling fans did not cool it enough so that was also a bummer."
"Taste of Carolina - Durham Food Tour - 23 Dec 2023Wow, Taste of Carolina really delivered some excellent bites in Durham today. Our agenda today included stops at: Toasted, Boricua Soul, Queeny's, Bull City Burger, sweets by Shayda. All restaurants did an excellent job. There were six in our party. Here are my individual notes. Toasted - Toasted has been thriving in Durham for over a decade. They offer unique soups and toasted bites/panini's. We were served a cauliflower soup and an avocado crustini. I loved the cauliflower soup. It was surprisingly creamy and tasty. Two In our party loved the avacado crustini, Boricua Soul - This place is special. The husband and wife owners have a captivating story to share about the historical and Philosophical origins of their culinary adventure. They served us a "lunch box" with perfectly prepared Puerto Rican roast pork, greens (soul food) , Mac & Cheese (soul food) and tostones (Puerto Rican). It was a huge bite and was the favorite stop for 5 people in our party. Next time we attend a Durham Bulls game we plan to eat here.Queeny's - is a friendly, creative bar / pub. They served us upscale nachos and a glass of dry cider. The nachos were very popular. The dry cider was interesting and unique. They owner made us feel welcome and encouraged us to try the many well designed drinks and bar foods.Bill City Burgers - The owner do an outstanding job describing his unique commitment to serving only Greason fed beef raised locally and making every item served here in house by his team of chefs. The burgers were excellent. They were bursting with beefy flavor and cooked perfectly. Be sure to try the deep fried pickles. So unique and loved by all. Two in our party picked this stop as their "Best Bite" selection. Sweets by Sayda - our last stop offered devine French Pastries. Macrons, croissants and other delicacies were shared. Share these pastries with those you love. They will treasure these treats.Lastly, I would like to share our deep appreciation to the folks at "Taste of Carolina" food tours. Our hosts had to manage finding a fifth stop today since their schedule included a venue who had to close due to kitchen staff all falling ill. In addition, I was recently released from the hospital due to foot surgery. These made waking very difficult. Our hosts did everything possible to make sure I was included in all of the stops. We plan on doing these Taste of Carolina Tours in the future: Hillsborough, Carrboro and Winston-Salem."
"First off I love the name of this brewery. I tried two flights and my husband ordered two pints. His favorite was the brown ale and my favorite was the Juicy Time IPA. I can't wait to try more beers once they have been open a little bit longer."
"Funguys Brewing should be called fun size Brewing. It is a small size with inside and outside seating. It is also DOG FRIENDLY! They don't have food, but they are within walking distance of four or five places that have food, including a food truck. We were only here long enough to taste some beers. I liked them. I wish I had found this place last time I was here in Raleigh. The beer here is actually better than many of the places I visited early last year. And the IPAs here are magical. If you like hazy IPAs there be doubles and triples here. Triples are the unicorn of IPAs. They are hard to find and even harder to find brewed well. Funguys gets the TIPA (triple Indian plae ale) right. The IPAs here are as good as Crank Arm Brewing Company or Buriel Beer - the exhibit, which I think make some of the best hazy IPAs in Raleigh, North Carolina. The BEERS: Undercover Agent hazy IPA 6.8% ABV... really delicious and juicy Haze Whisperer hazy DIPA 8% ABV... Wow citrusy, juicy, wonderful Duplication Munich style Dunkel 5.4% ABV... malty, slightly coffee Gaudy Vernacular hazy TIPA 9.5%... this is awesomely good, drinkable, crushable Lingerer hazy IPA 6%... dry and delicious, I want to say orange zest? Cult Classic Czech Pilsner 4.8% was just okay. Was not as smooth as some of the better Czech Pilsners I have tasted. But also, a good Czech Pilsner needs a good slow pour and since thus was only a taste, I might be too criticalNext time I visit Raleigh I will try to spend more time here. Especially this area which has 5 or six breweries in about a five mile radius."

Drink good beer, play games, and tour the brewery!Pros:- Excellent selection of beers to choose from. My favorite is their Imperial Stout.- Beer descriptions are on point- Unique beers to try (e.g. Devil's Nightmare)- Flight glasses are large. None of us were able to finish our selections- Educational and fun brewery tour- Reasonable pricesCons:- On a Saturday afternoon, they only had one bartender. He was welcoming and efficient, but overworked. There were several large groups getting flights. Nonetheless he greeted customers, answered questions, poured pints, and provided updates as he fulfilled the seemingly never ending flight orders.- In the bar and on the tour there were lots of flies. They do keep the doors open, which provides good air flow so some flies are reasonable. The flies, especially on the tour, were plentiful and relentless. They were busy on a Saturday so plan accordingly. This may have been related to their Groupon deal. During the summer months, it is very warm at the bar and on the tour so dress accordingly.

I'm really impressed with this place. Maybe I've been Door Dashing so much that I've forgotten what fresh, fairly-priced, restaurant food should be. We made reservations for 2 at 6:15. We probably could have walked in but we'd have a bit of a wait. The place is pretty big. It's bigger than your average sports bar. There's a whole back side that you'd think is a patio the way it looks but it's insulated and felt the same temp as the rest of the restaurant. It was 40° tonight by the way. I ordered a "tulip" of their Imperial Juicy IPA "Double Dragons". Wow, love this beer and need to find it in a store. $7 was a deal for a double IPA. I ordered the 2 fish tacos and they were perfect ($14.95) and a side of house fries with beer cheese. Fish was very crisp, the slaw was delicious and it was presented well. Definitely go for the extra 2 tacos for $5! I have lunch for tomorrow. My 14 year old son and I ate burger aficionados and while I didn't taste his burger, it looked divine. He wanted it medium rare but they only do pink or not pink. No big deal. They had quite a great selection of burgers. We had buffalo wings for an appetizer and they were good. Nice and crispy and decent size. I wasn't going to entertain the dessert menu because I was so full but I'm always curious what they serve. I saw their special -- Orange White Chocolate Cheesecake. At first I figured it would be too sweet but our server said it was a hint of orange zest and not overpowering. While I wish the slice was a tad bigger...OH EM GEEE...in my TOP 2-3 BEST CHEESECAKES I've ever had. Perfect consistency, sweetness and the orange zest was a dream. Like a grownup creamsicle. Wow. Our server was attentive but not intrusive and I was pleasantly surprised to see the owner/manager to come through and ask tables how everything was and if they needed anything. I haven't seen that in a while. In summary, we will definitely be back, I will definitely try a burger and will absolutely be taking another slice of cheesecake home.

We're huge fans of the original Winston incendiary. I really think they're making the best IPA in NC and best stouts anywhere. They're quality is 100%. The spaces are always very nice clean and unique adding to that quality brand. The new downtown Raleigh spot is awesome. Great location, sitting outside is perfect, same cool bar, and of course the beers were great and service on point.

Hipster heaven in the city! The decor and vibe are great. Centered around a VW bus and a kiddie pool turned into a coy pond this place is unique, eclectic, fun and welcoming. Sitting on the patio it's hard to believe you're so close to downtown Raleigh. It was pretty slow the day I visited. All of the staff and patrons were respecting social distancing and masks. All of the staff and guests were friendly and smiling which added to the great beer garden vibe. For the beers I did a flight and enjoyed most! If you like a spicy beer the habanero Pilsner has a real kick! I also tried the coffee stout, black ipa, ipa, and chocolate stout.

Super cool, and notably colorful, spot in Durham! This was a great stopping point on our way to Greensboro - we got a chance to stretch our legs and let our little one get some fresh air. Speaking of which, I have to bet the outdoor dining on an upstairs patio is almost as large as the indoor space here! They have a TON of beer options - almost too many to choose, but we were somehow able to. I love that they offer small pours at smaller prices so you can taste a few different brews in 1 visit. Absolutely loved the variety of snack options (seriously - Lunchables and beer is a killer combo)! They've got merchandise including the standards (tees, coozies, bottle openers) and non-standards, like games and craft kits. On this date, they had a promo to buy a craft kit and get a beer. Very cool idea!We loved our brief visit here & wouldn't hesitate to return!

This is one of my favorite places to stop when I'm in the area. They have the best turkey Reuben I've ever had. My current favorite draft there is Here Be Dragons.

Solid burritosWe decided to hit up this spot for a quick lunch. Order at the counter and then grab a seat. We got 2 burritos: Chimichurri Chicken and Brown Chicken Tinga Wow Wow. The Chimichurri was super yummy - chicken was super flavorful with spiced potatoes which complemented the burrito perfectly. Wrapped in a warm fresh tortilla. They did add a little bit too much oil into the burrito so eating it was a drippy mess. Tasty nonetheless. The chicken tinga was pretty good as well. Meat was good. Paired nicely with rice and sour pickled cabbage. Overall, burritos were solid and tasty. Tasted premium which explains the premium price. Def better than chipotle.

"We were staying the night in the area and wanted to grab something to eat before we headed to the hotel for the night. We did a quick search and saw there was a Hi-Wire brewing in the area, which happens to brew my current favorite IPA. We also saw that Cugino Forno was next door and would deliver to the tables in the brewery, a win-win. Hi-Wire Brewing and Cugino Forno are next door to each other inside one of buildings formerly used by the Golden Belt Manufacturing Company. These buildings have a lot of history for the area. In the late 1800's, the Golden Belt Manufacturing Co. originated in a portion of the Bull Durham Tobacco Factory as an operation to produce the cloth bags in which the tobacco was sold. Now this area is a fully renovated Golden Belt Campus. We arrived at about 4:30 pm on a rainy Friday afternoon in April. Sitting outside wasn't an option and while it was already busy we were able to find a place to sit. We did notice several large tables were reserved. There are also quite a few activities, such as ping pong, bocce ball and cornhole. This is a great idea for small to large groups of people gathering to enjoy good beer. I went up to the counter to order a Double High-Pitch IPA and the servers were friendly and helpful. When I returned to the table we talked about how we didn't realize that Hi-Wire had locations outside of Asheville but we were wrong. Their website shows they are not only outside of Asheville, they are outside of North Carolina as well. We looked at their swag and really liked a few of their shirt options but the material was just too thin for my tastes, I like a heavier cotton shirt. We did purchase a 12-pack of beer and enjoyed our time at Hi-Wire."
"Been here once so far and definitely want to return. The employees and regulars are awesome. They are welcoming and love dogs. Dogs are not allowed inside (other than service dogs). They do have a pet friendly outdoor patio (with heaters). Nearly everyone there came outside to greet my dog and I. Since I couldn't go inside they watched my dog while I went inside to get a beer. The bartender was friendly and efficient. She even brought out a water bowl. Without tasting other options, I chose the pecan maple porter ($7). It was excellent. Smooth, flavorful, and strong albeit pricy (comparable to other breweries in the area). Definitely would order that again, although I do want to try their other options. Several people were sitting outside and welcomed any at their table and into their conversations. Inside, the brewery was hosting an open mic night. I would have liked to hear more of it, but the outdoor patio was peaceful. As the sun came down, they started the heaters/fire pits. Ample parking is available right out front. Nearby parking lots and street parking is also available. Overall, excellent experience here and I highly recommend this brewery to others!"
"This brewery was chill. I had a flight and my husband had a pour of the Barreless Milk Stout. The flights come with 5 selections, I selected the Mike's Banana Hamik, Hazelnut Toffee Porter, 60 Watt IPA, Hell of a Day IPA and Watermelon Crawl. All were good but my favorite was the banana witbier (shockingly). If you want to sit inside or outside you have options. Check out their social media pages to see what food truck and events are going on. Cheers!"
"Food and service was pretty good! We ordered a hazy ipa and a blood orange ipa both were good. We ordered the chicken flatbread and Buffalo cauliflower appetizers. Both were delicious. Added bonus we got to bring the pup with us as well! A lot of selections to choose from and I was even able to order an aperol spritz which was perfect and refreshing!"
"Too busy. We should have just left. The servers were trying their best but it seems like the kitchen needs help. It probably took every bit of 75 min to get our food Servers did their best to accommodate us with a French fry appetizer and drinks but it was a long wait The place is super noisy .... Would have preferred to eat outside but the food was good I had a BLT that was delish. The duck fat fries were not the best. They were shoe string fries and cooked a bit too long so they were dry Would give it another shot on a less busy evening"
"White Street is a favorite and popular establishment for many WaFo locals. Great beer and a great location make for an excellent hang out spot."
"Wild Dogs Brewing is a new brewery in Sanford. They currently have six beers on tap but are in the process of brewing up more. I started off with a flight, you get to select 4 beers. I chose the APA, Kolsch, Pilsner and Dark Lager. As far as current favorites go, it was the APA for me, Dark Lager for my husband and Kolsch for my mom. If you don't like beer, they have cider and wine available. The service was also very friendly. I can't wait to return once they get more beers on tap."
"My only visit here (so far) coincided with a Taylor Swift Trivia Contest and the place, as you can imagine, was packed! And filled with plenty of energy. My son and I were not dissuaded by the long line due to the reputation and ratings of BCC. Our wait in line was worth the time and effort. My son ordered the pineapple guava slushie and I ordered a flight of four ciders. Flights of five ciders are another option. BCW also offers cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages of sodas and kombucha. On this evening, I ordered Rhize Up, the Matador, Créme de l'Orange, and Pom Pom Cherie. All four were tasty in their respective flavor profiles. Seasonal ciders are offered and the BCC website lists the names, flavors and drop dates. The location offers indoor seating with long tables and big screen TVs. Outdoor seating varies from individual seating to stand up seating. A fire pit is located in one corner. On this occasion, no fire was seen. When I'm in the area again and in the mood for cider, I'll head here."
"Top of the Hill Restaurant & Brewery, also known as "TOPO," is a UNC and Chapel Hill institution. TOPO is located atop the intersection of Franklin and Columbia Streets, the epicenter of big Carolina basketball postgame celebrations, in the heart of downtown Chapel Hill. This place is busy and popular year-round and especially during Carolina basketball and football seasons. My wife and her co-residents tried to come here to watch the 2022 Final Four game between Carolina and Duke (Coach K's last game), but it was full so they went to Linda's up the street instead.TOPO has been a regular dinner spot for my wife and her co-residents during her four years in Chapel Hill. When she brought me here for dinner, there was another group of residents and attendings on the patio. We arrived just before 6pm on a Thursday (non-game night) and were able to snag one of the high-top tables that overlooked Franklin Street. It was nice. I can't think of any other restaurants or bars in Chapel Hill that have as good of a city view, so this place definitely has that going for it.TOPO is also a versatile spot, functioning more as a sit-down restaurant during the daytime and more as a bar Thursday-Saturday nights (open until 2am those nights). This is a brewpub; they brew their own beer on-site. TOPO has multiple award-winning brews, a few of which are noted below. Along with beer, they have a full bar serving several different types of cocktails ($8-16 each) including a variety of mules ($8 each). The cuisine is American. During our dinner visit, most apps, salads, sandwiches, and bowls were priced in the $10-15 range and most entrees were about $15-30 each. Here's what we got:Beer* Beer Sampler ($13) - five-ounce pours of all of TOPO's six draft beers' Kenan Lager - Best in Show, Carolina Championship of Beer' Bell Tower Blueberry Wheat - Platinum Medal, World Championship of Beer' Old Well White - Platinum Medal, World Championship of Beer' Quite Right IPA' Alma Mater Amber Ale' Blackwood Mountain StoutStarters* Jalapeno-Cheddar Hushpuppies (6 for $6.99) - cornmeal hushpuppies with jalapeno, cheddar cheese and buttermilk, served with white cocktail sauceEntrees* Buttermilk Fried Chicken ($18.50) - locally-sourced crispy fried breast with mushroom cream gravy topped with diced tomatoes and scallions, mashed potatoes, garlic-sauteed French beans, and a buttermilk biscuit* TOPO Whiskey & Coke Braised Beef ($23.99) - boneless beef short rib slow-braised in a Whiskey & Coke sauce with roasted vegetables and mashed potatoesIf you've never been to TOPO before, the Beer Sampler is a great way to go. You can sample all of TOPO's draft list without committing to a full glass. When we visited, there were six beers on tap, regularly $6-8 per serving. The sampler came with a neat and informative placemat menu. It had a description of each beer along with tasting notes. My wife's favorites were the Quite Right IPA followed by the Bell Tower Blueberry Wheat. I thought all six beers tasted good and I didn't have a favorite. It was a three-way tie between the Kenan Lager, Old Well White, and Alma Mater Amber Ale, all of which were very different. I guess what I'm saying is you really can't go wrong with any of the in-house beers here.My wife recommended the Jalapeno-Cheddar Hushpuppies. She likes them because both their texture and flavor stand out. I agree - they were tasty and addictive. The Jalapeno-Cheddar Hushpuppies are one of the apps that she and her co-residents like to order and share. Others they like to get include the Lizard Chips ($9.50), which are sliced dill pickles and jalapenos deep-fried in TOPO beer batter and served with a "Baja" dipping sauce, and the Sweet Potatoes & Peppadew Pepper Jelly ($11.99), which are sweet potato fries with a cream cheese and pepper jelly. The entrees that we got, the Buttermilk Fried Chicken and the TOPO Whiskey & Coke Braised Beef, are TOPO classics. The fried chicken is an entree that one of my wife's attendings, who has been in Chapel Hill for decades, usually orders. It was yummy. Crispy, tender, and not too greasy. I liked the mushroom cream gravy and I thought both it and the green beans went well with the chicken. The braised beef was hearty and satisfying. I thought the meat was a little dry, but it was flavorful. I do recommend both of these dishes if you want to try what TOPO "is known for."Service was good, from the hostesses up front to our server, Coale. All the staff we interacted with were polite and efficient, and everything we ordered came out in a reasonable amount of time.We parked for free in a paved lot behind the restaurant. You can enter the lot via a small driveway on S Columbia St between TOPO and the Ackland Art Museum. TOPO is located on the third floor (highest floor).TL;DR version - I give TOPO four stars not for any one reason, but for the whole experience as a brewpub with a good view, good service, good drinks, and decent food."
"TLDR: Great food and beer selection. Indoor and outdoor seating. Kind, helpful servers. Good music selection and occasional live music.Excellent taproom to visit by yourself or with friends. They offer a variety of American cuisine and drinks. I actually prefer their food over the beer. We liked the B-52 chicken sandwich and mahi tacos with tator tots and fries. The portion size was ideal and it all tasted great. For the drinks, I recommend choosing a beer flight. You can choose different size flights, 4, 6, or 10. I have tried most of their brews at the brewery location and wanted to try something new. I chose the 4 sampler flight with Mad Beach, Cosmic Crush, El Jefe, and BlackCherry Wit. Mad Beach was citrus and flavorful as always. I wasn't a fan of the Cosmic Crush, but I think it is because I drank it after the mad beach. El Jefe was my favorite. I love how the orange and lime slices were included even with the flights. I surprisingly did not like the Black Cherry Wit. There were other beers I wanted to try (e.g. Shark Fight and Mango Horchata) but they were either out of stock or only available as cans. I sat at an outdoor table with my dog. Our server (Alice?) was so patient and attentive. Only thing I didn't like is that the hostess stand is outside. When the host was there, they had to stand in the heat for a while. When they weren't, customers had to wait in the heat for a while to be seated. Seems like it would be better to have this indoors, especially during the NC summer. Overall, we had a great experience here and recommend this taproom to others!"
"All the yums! Hubs searched and picked Wye Hill for our brunch date, and I'm SO glad he did! I loved everything from the relaxing patio seating/views and the delicious food, to the awesome service we received from Mason. The sweet potato hash and (my bite of) the turkey burger was fantastic. I enjoyed my Retox cocktail and the view of downtown. All in all, it was a great dining experience and I can't wait to return. Cheers!"
"Lynwood Brewing Company and Wilson's Eatery are part of the same business. Lynwood has the taps and Wilson's has the food and also the taps. Lynwood Brewing Company is a wide open brew pub. It reminds me of a college bar, with a whole lot of taps offering some good beer offerings. There is a lot of space here both inside and outside and they are dog friendly in case you like to have a meal and beer with your fur babies. To order food here, my best suggestion would be to just walk over to Wilson's and order for yourself, before ordering the beer. To order beer, you have to stand in line which is not optimal. Luckily the line went fast. The BEER: Once you go black IPA 7% ABV... my favorite beer here, malty dark IPA, yes, that is a thing and it is delicious.... FIRE Blonde Moment Belgian Ale 6.2% ABV... well balanced and great Belgian blonde ale Catalina Breeze double IPA 7.8% ABV... the label for this one should just be IPA, it is good Hop on Top west coast IPA 7% ABV... it's a west coast IPA Note to Self IPA 6.8% ABV... good, very hoppy Lynwood Brewing Company is not the best brewery in Raleigh. It is a great brewery, but if you only get a chance to visit one brewery in this area, there are better options."
"CRB is located in a hidden nook off of Gresham lake Rd. We come to Compass Rose frequently. There is a viewing area to see the brewing process, food trucks, yard games, and large tables for big groups. More of an industrial vibe for sure. This time around CRB featured amber to dark beer. They generally always have a cider on tap as well as a Hefeweizen. Each selection is a full tasting beer. For the non drinker they do have canned sodas and snacky foods. Even wine. I'd love to see CRB find their niche but overall we enjoy our time spent here. Game night is nice Bc they have a projector screen. Go Pack! Likes- clean Large space Projector screen Would be acceptable to bring children Scott's View (Scottish Amber) is a great tasting beer. Cons- no niche beer necessarily. Lack of distribution and advertisement. No food truck schedule. Chairs are appealing to the eye but not comfortable at all."
"This is a new location and is walking distance from downtown. It's a great place with beautiful outdoor seating. As you'll see from the photos, there are plenty of heaters to keep you toasty. We were there the weekend it snowed, and we were able to sit outside for a beer without a problem. The beer is good, too."
"It's Piranha Joe in the morning and Vicious Fishes in the afternoon. This location has set food trucks for 2022, it's Wake the Truck Up (Thurs-Sun) for breakfast, NC Burger (Mon-Fri) for lunch and Piranha Bites powered by Bulkogi for dinner. The indoor seating options are smaller but there is a lot available outside. My favorite beer is the Here Be Dragons IPA but I also like their sours. Cheers!"
"TBD on the opening of the taproom, I wasn't able to find any additional details on that. R&D has been brewing beer for a while now, I really like their Seven Saturdays IPA. Storm Brew is popular for tailgating and game days with the Carolina Hurricanes. I'm not huge on lagers or beers below 5% so I can't comment but it is a great option for fans. I hope that they open their taproom soon, I can't wait to visit."
"A semi-hidden find being a bit off the beaten path this was a fun experience. They have two separate sides, the bar and the eatery, which was a bit of a pain just due to having to be in two different lines and pay at two different stations, but that was the only downer. The space is very large with both indoor and outdoor seating. The outside is dog friendly for those that might want that feature. The food was bar food and just fine for the location we were in. The bar staff was quick with drinks and moving the line. They have plenty of seating inside and a few arcade style games you can play. It can be noisy in there with the open atmosphere, but it's a bar, so it's expected. They are family friendly and there was a sports team celebrating after a game in there while we were there, which most definitely contributed to the noise, but it didn't bother us. Just a note for people it may influence. Overall: ASolid semi-hidden find with a fun vibe and an easy going experience."
"Altered State is finally serving beer but on release weekends only. They are located next door to Black Fire Brewing and have teamed up to offer one large outdoor space. There are no beers on draft, just cans and bottles that they pour for pints and flights. I tried a flight which consisted of the Losing California, Nektar, No Sleep, Pineapple Milkshake and Vortex of Decadence. My favorite was the Nektar, it's a gose with cherry and raspberry. I'm hoping that their hours will expand soon. I can't wait to try more of their beers, cheers!"
"Very fun spot for drinks, eats (BYOF), and music. Outside of their own selection, their RTP location has a large variety of drinks from other local breweries. Very large back patio area with tables and events. Very nice vibe there overall, the staff and patrons are friendly and inviting. *murals in the back are very dope!"
"Crank Arm is an exceptional Brew tasting experience. They don't do flights but they will let you taste as many as you like and I did just that. There is outside seating and the inside is so cool. It is savory with the heat at the end.Trail Wizard hazy DIPA 8.7%... this one is absolutely wonderful. FiRE!!!West Coaster Brake IPA 7.2% IPA... I recommend this Road Hazard hazy IPA 6.2% ABV ... juicy and delicious My beertender Becky was awesome. When I am back in Raleigh I will definitely stop through. "The Mason Jar Lager Company is finally open in the spot previously occupied by Draft Line Brewing! I am a huge fan of the restaurant so I was excited to check out the beers. They currently have four beers on tap: Virtue IPL, Stick Barn Schwarzbier, Happy Place Helles and Small Town Bock. And, are brewing up small batches that are released every Sunday. If I had to choose a favorite it would definitely be Happy Place Helles. I was a bit disappointed to hear that they do not offer flights so I recommend that you sample the beers before to ensure that you will like it before committing to a full pour. As far as the space goes, it is a bit smaller inside and it can get loud. I really hope that they get sound absorbers to help with that. Giant jenga and corn hole are no longer available to play inside, only outside, so visit on a nice day. I am excited to see what Mason Jar is brewing up next."
"Outside seating, dog friendly, child friendly, shaded seating, drink variety on tap (ciders, ale, etc) sparkling drinks and non alcoholic can options. Walkable downtown Cary. Definitely recommend for a day outin"
"The brewery was great !! I wish I lived in the neighborhood where it resides. Soconvenient. They had a pretty good assortment of brews available as was listed on their big chalk board. I always feel like the beer should cost a bit less at the brewery but that's not the case here. $5-$6 pint. The beer was decent. If you want a "very small" cup of popcorn, that's a $1. (Really !!!!!!). Next time we will bring our own snacks. We came for the hatchet throwing. Seemed like fun after having a few beers. Of course, there is the signing of the waiver........after you pay your $5 to throw 5 hatchets. It's was OK. I wouldn't do it again. The hatchets have light plastic handles and it just wasn't what I expected. It's quite a money maker. (Why didn't we think of that !!!!).We will be back to Southern Brewery. Maybe with our grand dog !!"
