"Great NC BBQ place in downtown Raleigh.Casual comfort and bit classy interior. The food was Soo good.Had appetizer sampler and big boy plate, three of us could not finish it. Had to do take out for a good portion.Chopped pork was amazing, we could tell a lot of love went into the smoking and prep. From so many to pick from, the Pit got our vote."
"OooWeee this is some of the best I've ever had hands down. I came here after a TikTok food reviewer claim Backyard BBQ to be the best in the Raleigh/Durham area. I ordered the Yams, Brisket plate, Mac & Cheese, Greens, hush puppies, Pulled Smoked Turkey and Baked Beans. Bayyybayyyeee!!! When I the food is hitting it's on point. It is legit the best BBQ I've had in my life and the side Zelle not to be played with either. The yams are yams'n and the Mac & Cheese is cheese'n everything is superb. The staff is supper welcoming even let me sample everything being it was my first time the and being an out of towner. For everything I bought it was very affordable and I wish I could have bought more to fly home with it's so good, but I have it all figured out for next time lol. I will definitely be back here real some as I'm planning another trip back to North Carolina."

"Came by for a late lunch around 1PM.No line, so we were able to order right away. Let the staff know and they will quickly prep your order. The highlights for me were the brisket, ribs, and mac and cheese. I wasn't a fan of the pulled pork. On the really dry side. Portions are large. There is seating inside and outside.Limited parking in the lot, but we were lucky enough to get a few."
"On our way to Florida, the restaurant was recommended by the staff member at our hotel, during check in. The restaurant is located in an old mill building in town that really cannot be understated. I wish we had been able to explore a little. It was a Wednesday evening, around 7pm and we did not have a reservation. the place was quite busy but we were seated almost immediately. Our bartender/waitperson, Teresa, was accommodating and knowledgeable of the menu.I chose the Seafood Gumbo, along with Mac n Cheese and Cole Slaw while my wife went with lighter fare and ordered a Caesar Salad along with Cole Slaw. After a long day we declined any dessert. The menu looked terrific and I hope to be able to stop in again."
"Ahhhhhhmaxing food and service!! We had hush won our table within minutes of arriving! We wanted to try everything- our sweet server helped us with a combo that allowed us to try everything we wanted. 1/4 rack of St Louis rib, BBQ pork with a side of Brunswick stew and a side of Chicken Pastie. We are bug eaters and we were stuffed. The sauces are perfect companions. Friendly and attentive employees that greeted us with a smile and warm welcome. Super quaint dining room with antiques and cute memorabilia. We will be back next time we fly in or out of Raleigh-Durham Airport (RDU) or are staying in the area"
"By chance, I ended up at the Eno River Brewery and was in need of lunch and was excited to see this as an option that was very close by! From the outside, it looked like a very simple place which was part of the draw for me. Deciding between brisket and pork is usually a challenge for me, so I this time I opted for both with two sides. Both the pork and brisket were good. I would consider the Mac and cheese to just be average but did enjoy the corn pudding. The hush puppies were pretty good too! I'm sorry I don't recall my servicer name, but she was attentive. I thought the food was reasonably priced and would totally return again in the future! Thank you for a great meal!"
"Update to a review I left before: returned to Picnic and had one of the area's best BBQ sandwiches, complete with mac and cheese and hushpuppies, so good they will make your tastebuds sing. Prompt and efficient process to order and receive food. The setting may feel a little stark, given the exposed ceiling and huge chalkboard of drinking options, but where else will you get a brew named Bring Me a Shrubbery? Go there. Eat. Enjoy."
"Okay folks, I think we have a winner here in terms of Carolina BBQ goes. I ordered the 3 Meat combo because I wanted to try a variety of their signature entree items and boy every single meat item did not disappoint. The meats were cooked to perfection with full flavors. The BBQ pork was super succulent and the meat from the ribs literally falls off the bone when you pick it up. The sweet hickory taste of the ribs were my favorite. The smoke turkey was super moist! Both the collard greens and the sweet slaws were prepared just right. Unfortunately, the cornbread was the only thing I didn't care too much for. It was bland, dry and didn't really taste like cornbread. Other than that I love the place. I'll be sure and hit this place up the next time I am in town."
"Super fast and friendly service. I like that you can get a fish fry but not just on Fridays. The fried fish is delicious with a light, fresh batter. The hush puppies weren't overcooked and tasted delicious. The fish tacos are a great option if you want grilled fish instead of fried. Your choice of cod, Mahi, or haddock. The clam chowder is New England style and very tasty with a generous helping of clams and small diced potatoes. Order inside and they bring your food out even on the patio. Will be back."
"I believe BBQ Joes has by far the best bbq in the surrounding area. Service is mediocre but the bbq is top notch. On my visit today I had to place my order at the bar, the last time I dined here I was waited on at the table but that has apparently changed. The baked beans were very flavorful. The fries are beer battered, not my preference. Sweet tea is delicious. If you want good bbq then see the folks at BBQ joes at one of their two locations."
"This was not just around the corner so after a 30 minute drive we arrived. I read many reviews about Black Powder and had been looking forward to coming here. It is counter service that moves quickly with the menu board above.I ordered the beef brisket sandwich with a side of the Gouda Mac n cheese and then got a second side of greens. The brisket was chopped not sliced and piled high on the bun. The counter guy gave me a small side of slaw to put on top and I chose the Eastern Carolina sauce...I think called The Mop. The sauce went perfect with the brisket and even without sauce it was delicious and full of a smoked flavor. The Mac n cheese was a bit wet but extremely tasty and the greens were excellent and I added a small amount of the same sauce. To me this was great BBQ and I highly recommend anyone coming here that likes BBQ."
"Really good BBQ there I said it! You can smell Aviators from blocks away and the smell takes you to the right place. We got the palooza after a long day and I'm so happy we did! Everything we tried was spot on! The brisket it so tender and delicious the BBQ sauce is kickin but in a great way. The teriyaki sauce for the smoked wings were a perfect pair and the pork was juicy and if you mixed it with the beans it was melt In your mouth. The ribs were sooo good we got some to go. Great meal and everyone at our table enjoyed their food!"

The portions were huge! We really enjoyed the pit sampler to get a taste of everything. The pit sampler included pit smoked wings, BBQ soul rolls, deviled eggs, and pimento cheese balls. They also bring out hush puppies and biscuits as complimentary apps. The double combo was perfect to share. We got the brisket and the chopped BBQ. I would get the brisket again, but the chopped BBQ was too dry for my liking. The sides we got were delicious. It was fried Okra and Sweet Potato casserole. Service was awesome! Very attentive.

Very friendly staff, since this was my first time playing hey let me try the pulled turkey and pulled pork. Both had good flavor but I like the turkey a little more. I felt like both were a little too spicy for me so I opted for the smoked sausage that also taste and smell like it was in a beer broth. Very good, I could have used some yellow mustard. Cabbage are good but not sure what meat it was seasoned with you can see and taste it. Yams are tasty but could have been drained a little. The hush puppies are sweet and it reminds of funnel cake. Not corn based like I'm used to. Now I must say the pineapple lemonade stole the whole show and they received an extra star just for it...Chunks of pineapple in some ice cold lemonade....awwww man. There was a steady stream of customers coming in to this well loved restaurant. There were a lot of things on the menu they didn't have like the pig feet & ox tails. They also do not have desserts...which I couldn't have eat anyway.

Food, mouth water good. Efficient service. Ambiance more than VG for a shack. We were here on a Saturday evening at 4-ish. No waiting line. FYI, none of the 4 BBQ joints in Durham on our list opened on Sundays we discovered on Sunday. Plan ahead if Q is on your menu and you don't live nearby. Two of us shared the 3 meat combo which includes 2 sides and it was plenty filling. We had spareribs, pulled pork and brisket-all excellent choices. Our 2 sides were fried okra and Mac & cheese plus 2 beers. We ate there. It's an excellent BBQ joint type vibe. Plenty of togo orders (large and small) went of the door while we ate also. It's a very efficient operation.I need beer with my BBQ and they did not disappoint me (see photo).

Found this gem right off 95 on our drive home, we got extremely lucky that on Saturday night we were able to be seated as walk ins without a reservation. This was outstanding from the moment we arrived. That southern charm and hospitality is there first off. We were luckily seated within maybe 10-15minutes of getting to the hostess stand. We were seated and our server took some time to get to us but they were extremely busy. We started off with the lump crab cakes and the MP made sense as it was all crab and almost no cake with a delicious dipping sauce. I ordered a small seafood gumbo and rice as I wasn't super hungry. The small portion I had was so filling I'm glad I didn't order the large portion. My boyfriend ordered the three meat platter and the brisket and ribs were phenomenal and well seasoned. We personally weren't fans of the pulled pork, I think it was the tangy sauce that came on it was why. The potatoes au gratin were absolutely amazing and worth every calorie. A must try side on their menu. The ginger yams were different and delicious. We were stuffed but our server talked us into the double churned ice cream that was made in house, it was amazing and we rolled out of this restaurant from our meal.

Ole Time Barbecue serves up great food in Raleigh! My husband and I stopped by for lunch, and it was relatively busy. Luckily, we didn't wait too long to be seated. The interior is like a cozy American diner with a lot of interesting knick-knacks and pictures from throughout the years. The service was quick and friendly. We ordered the BBQ Pork Plate and the Fried Chicken Plate, both of which come with two sides and hush puppies! That's already a generous amount for a great price in my opinion. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and left feeling full and satisfied. All in all, I'd definitely recommend checking this place out!

Super delicious dinner and incredible service. We didn't know what to expect but happy we found this little spot. Arrive early or plan to wait (takeout is available too). Their demand is larger than their four walls. The pulled pork and brisket = superb. The catfish and slaw = delicious. We also ordered a small brisket chili that was to die for.Full operating bar with beers and what not available, or have a classic ice tea. Jordan, our server, was awesome. On point, super friendly, willing to help or educate on the menu, we loved Jordan.Stop in if you haven't been. You won't be disappointed.

Came to Greenville as a visiting football fan and we sought out a good BBQ restaurant on Saturday for our pregame meal/lunch. We were not disappointed at all. While NC BBQ is different than Texas BBQ, we were all about the "pulled pork." The meat was flavorful and I had a blast alternating between the vinegar and sweet BBQ sauce. I had the Mac and cheese as my side and I thoroughly enjoyed it. What surprised me was my wife's choice of the coleslaw. I'm not much for creamy coleslaw so this vinegar-based coleslaw hit the spot for me as I regretted not ordering it myself. I wish I had ordered other meats but hey, next time we're in Greenville, I'm making sure we come back so I can order additional items. Finally, the staff was terrific even though we were in our ECU opponent gear and the overall restaurant atmosphere was friendly. As I said above, I look forward to our return trip to Greenville so we can visit Sam Jones BBQ again.

"My son and I decided that we would make the pilgrimage to Ayden NC to taste the offerings of this iconic Eastern NC BBQ restaurant, then we will travel a few miles into the town and stop at Bum's, another venerable BBQ joint and more.A17-year-old named Walter B. "Pete" Jones began cooking whole hogs over hard wood at this location in 1947, becoming the cornerstone of Eastern style NC barbecue. Moore came from a long-time barbecue cooking family, beginning with his great-great-grandfather, who sold pork barbecue from a wagon beginning in the mid 1800's! References to whole hog cooking goes back as far as the early 1700's in North Carolina. This iconic BBQ restaurant is still going strong today operated by Pete's grandson, Sam Jones. This is a simple, worn, barebones barbecue joint with no table service, with a plain but serviceable dining area, built not for comfort but for eating. You order at the register and the food will come out quickly, grab it and head for a table. All the barbecued pork is chopped, and that means hand chopped. The pig is moist, nicely flavored from the hard wood smoke and the vinegar basting sauce, with crunchy pieces of pork skin included.Add the fresh, crunchy slaw with just the right amount of mayo, and a slab of rather dense, crunchy cornbread made with white cornmeal from a recipe dating to the 1800's, and you are good to go. There is a fine house made BBQ sauce on the tables, it is the best I've tasted, but only a small amount is needed. For me this is as good as it gets, and I've eaten pig at almost every Eastern barbecue restaurant, I just wish you could get sliced or coarse chopped here. Now on to Bum's, just a short drive down the road into Ayden."
"Pik N Pig has to be one of the best barbq joint in North Cackalacky . I swear to higher ups! Someone told me to come check this place out It's our there in the woods right by the airport To me, being able to enjoy some tasty yummy barbecue brisket, pork chops, smoked chicken and pulled pork while watching the planes take off and land is such a fun and unique experience for people of all ages. Service is outstanding and the atmosphere can't get any better. It was 80 degrees and no clouds. What a day to spent on a Sunday yeah .My favorite was the smoked chicken. I'm sure you guyz will be on your way here.I like it a lot ...I'm sure you'll like it too won't disappoint.j"
"My experience with Eastern Carolina barbecue turned out to be most memorable here. I had a group of 5 and everyone raved about it. For me, the experience with the pork is what I will remember most. It seems like this place relies on their slow technique to provide the flavor instead of seasoning. It comes out incredibly juicy, and in this case their sauce complements it perfectly instead of overwhelming it. But on top of all of that, the hush puppies were addictive, the chicken was tender and juicy, the potato salad was wonderful, and even the sweet tea was perfect. As an out of towner passing through from Philly, this will be a meal I remember for a long time."
"The food and service were great! There is no longer an indoor space to eat, so you have to either eat outdoors or take your food to go. The only problem with sitting outside is that cars pull up to take out food and they tend to leave their engines on while waiting. It would be great if Kokyu asked them to turn off their engines while waiting. With that being said, we'll be back soon because the tofu bibimbap and the steak fries were so tasty!"
"I like Danny's for a quick BBQ lunch option. On this visit I ordered the small sausage plate with house potato salad (sour cream based), green beans and applesauce. All plates come in a small or large size with two sides and a piece of texas toast. The sausage was so juicy and tender and the sides were good."
"Sam Jones BBQ is a highly rated barbecue restaurant in Raleigh and today I had the chance to learn why. They are dishing out delicious Eastern Carolina style wood fired whole hog barbecue right here in Raleigh. I've been craving the delicious vinegar tang flavor I grew up on as the daughter of a skilled pit master. I come from a family of men who know how to barbecue, so trust that when I recommend Sam Jones, it's with a sophisticated palette. I enjoyed everything we ordered via delivery. You'll find quality meats, large portions and flavorful dishes at Sam Jones. I decided on the turkey, pork chopped barbecue, Smoked Alabama white sauce wings, potato salad, barbecue beans, macaroni and cheese and moist sweet potato muffins. All of the barbecue meats were moist and flavorful. The turkey was sliced perfectly, the pork was delicious paired with both the vinegar based sauce and sweet sauce as well. The smoked wings with the Alabama White Sauce were a favorite for me. Alabama white BBQ sauce is a mayonnaise-based dressing that also includes horseradish and cayenne pepper. These wings were so moist, yet charred perfectly. The white sauce really packed the flavor for me. The sweet potato muffins were so delicious ! I'm glad I skipped out on the cornbread and went with the muffins. You can really taste the sweet potato and I love how soft, moist and fresh these were. I am extremely picky about side dishes. The Collard Greens were perfect here. Vinegar based and flavorful. I really enjoyed these. The potato salad, macaroni and cheese and baked beans were all perfect as well. Nothing was overly seasoned or under seasoned. I enjoyed everything. Sam Jones serves the perfect Sunday dinner. This is now one of my favorite restaurants in Raleigh."
"There's a lot of hype around this place. It's been here a long time. I've been here twice. The food and the service are good. The BBQ is very good. The brisket is excellent. The Brunswick Stew was average. The puppies were good. The pork skins are a very nice touchMy take is that it's worth the stop, at least for the nostalgia of it. Have I had BBQ that's as good or better? Yes. I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to Eastern NC BBQ. Mostly, honestly, I'd put this place at maybe a 3.5 star spot overall"
"We enjoyed our time at The Blue Note Grill in downtown Durham. I think the food is three stars (okay), but the live music, laid-back atmosphere, and friendliness of both the staff and the patrons bumps this business up to four stars (good) for me. Barbecue, ribs, and music succinctly sums this place up.We ended up here because we were looking for a barbecue restaurant in Durham that was open for dinner on a Wednesday night after 8:00pm. There weren't many options. We didn't know about the live music aspect of The Blue Note Grill until we arrived. This place is popular. We showed up and checked in around 6:45pm. They don't take reservations. We were told the wait would be about 30 minutes and I was given a pager. The estimated wait time was pretty much spot-on as we were seated around 7:15pm.On a Wednesday night, we were told the main indoor dining room and bar - the one with the stage and live music - was full. If we wanted to sit in there, there would be a $5 cover charge per person. Our other options were the fully-enclosed patio and the open-air patio. I asked if I could see all three options before making a decision and one of the staff obliged.I ended up choosing the open-air patio for our small group of three because: (1) We wanted to catch up and the music was too loud inside. Sitting inside is for those who primarily want to enjoy the music. (2) The enclosed patio was actually warmer and stuffier than the open-air patio. We ended up liking the open-air patio, even though we had to deal with flies and mosquito bites, because we could hear each other easily and still enjoy the live music coming from the inside. The patio was decorated with plants and string lights. It had picnic tables, most of which were covered by umbrellas. We got the only table that was under a canopy.By the way, I also noticed another indoor dining room called the "Rib Room." It's to your right upon entering. There was no one in there and it appeared to be closed. Maybe they didn't have enough staff to open that room. The night of our visit, it was "Brett's Open Mic," 7-10pm. "Brett" being Brett Chambers, who's been doing Open Mics since September 1996. Go to https://www.thebluenotegrill.com/events to see all upcoming events. According to The Blue Note Grill's website, they've been around since 2010 and moved to their current location at 709 Washington St in June 2015. They have live music nightly, Tuesday-Saturday. They're closed Sunday and Monday. The business is located on the northern edges of Durham's Central Park and Warehouse District neighborhoods. The building is old. Free parking is located next to and behind the building by an old wooden train trestle bridge and some defunct oil tanks. I'm not sure what was here before. Be careful pulling into and out of the parking lot because the ramp from the street was very steep. Sitting on the patio, we heard many cars hit and scrape the curb/driveway. The ramp needs to be redone/regraded.Along with barbecue, The Blue Note Grill serves burgers, sandwiches, chili, Brunswick stew, wings, barbecue/Southern sides, appetizers like crispy pickle fries and deviled eggs, and desserts like banana pudding and chocolate lava cake. Here's what we got:* Redneck Cheese Fries ($9.99) with Pickled Jalapenos (+$1.00) - French fries smothered with melted housemade pimento cheese, served with ranch dressing* Alaska Wild Wings ($9.99) - eight fried pollock bites with sweet red chili sauce and tartar sauce* Baby Back Ribs Full Rack ($31.99) with hush puppies, fried okra, and housemade coleslaw* Baby Back Ribs Half Rack ($19.99) with hush puppies, substitute salad (+$2.00), and fried okra* Pulled Pork BBQ Plate ($13.99) with hush puppies, collards, and green beans sauteed in bacon and onionsOverall, I thought the food was fine. Nothing stood out as either great or bad. My wife enjoyed the Redneck Cheese Fries more than I did. The ranch dressing was a nice touch. I liked the Alaska Wild Wings. They were crispy and boneless. They also came with celery and carrot sticks. The Baby Back Ribs were a bit too tough and chewy. However, the portion size was generous. The Pulled Pork was OK. In general, I think it and the sides lacked a bit of seasoning and flavor. The salad was fresh and came with onion, cheese, tomatoes, and carrots. The fried okra was yummy. The condiment basket included two kinds of barbecue sauces, Eastern NC (thinner, more vinegary) and Western NC (thicker, sweeter). Our server Kai S was great. He was funny and did a nice job. The other staff was great as well, including the hostess/manager. Despite a busy night, all of our food came out fast. There was a scan-QR-code-to-pay option on the receipt. I usually prefer this over using my physical card, but The Blue Note Grill uses Heartland Payment Systems who makes you download/install their app, sign up, and then pay. I didn't have time for that and paid with card instead. From a guest experience, Toast is better."
"We were looking to grab some food in the Trinity area before heading home. We did a quick search and saw BBQ Joes has two locations nearby, one in High Point and one in Trinity. The Trinity location has slightly higher Yelp reviews so we read a few of them and noticed many of our Yelp Elite connections recommend and that was enough for us. We arrived about 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. The location is easy to find and convenient to the highway. Located in a stand alone building with plenty of parking. We also noticed they have an additional parking lot which would make it easy for those with trailers, RV's, etc. Both the interior and exterior appear to be well maintained and we were immediately impressed. We approached the counter and were greeted by a young man. He provided us menus to look over and we also noted there is a wall mounted menu which is easy to read. I decided on my typical BBQ order, a pulled pork sandwich with no slaw. I chose Mac n cheese as my side with a bottled water. My wife chose the brisket platter with sweet potato casserole and green beans, the platters also come with hush puppies. We were provided a number for our table and took a seat. While we waited for our food we both used the restroom and both were clean and well stocked. We also couldn't help but notice at least two employees who were deep cleaning the high chairs and garbage can receptacles, it was impressive to see employees going the extra mile! Our food arrived quickly and looked incredibly tasty. My wife noticed she was given baked beans instead of green beans and the young lady who brought our food was quick to bring an order of the green beans. Neither my wife nor I are baked beans people so we just left them on the plate. Of course, my camera ate first and after I took a few pics we dug in. Each and every bite was delicious! The meats were cooked beautifully and the sides were all yummy. We were finishing up and my wife had a decent amount of the brisket left and decided to order an additional half pound of chopped brisket to add to her salads for work throughout the week. She also ordered herself another side of sweet potato casserole and a Mac n cheese for me for lunch at work. A great experience! We will definitely be back and highly recommend to others."
"My wife and I are driving to our timeshare down south. When I was younger I drove with a buddy from Memphis to Brooklyn nonstop! Somehow my wife doesn't understand the enthusiasm of driving without stopping so I look on my Yelp app for a nice sit down restaurant. I'd also like a sweet tea, perhaps some grits? I mean, we are down south but I always have to be aware of regional BBQ sauces. See, I might be a guy from NY but I am well versed in Southern. My search brings us to Midwood Smokehouse.Walking in, this is a nice looking restaurant. The bar area is off to the side and there are plenty of outside seating. Mrs Bill S doesn't know about bugs the size of a VW beetle so I tell the host stand an indoor table please. The menu looks really fun! I found my grits, topped with burnt ends. My wife went straight for the brisket. Mrs S is in the zone, she loves the beans and told me the brisket was very moist. My burnt ends, heaven! Fatty little pieces of BBQ goodness topped on top of grits. It's like a hug in my belly. No dessert, it's time to get back on the road. This was a nice diversion, I thank you for the hospitality."
"Very generous plus selection of entrees and sandwiches & deserts- my second time visiting- seems to be a favorite in the community & surrounding areas plus 2 minutes from a major interstate. My stew beef bread bowl was chocked full of hot juicy meat - small potatoes- it's was soooooo good! My turnips greens were just as tasty with a drizzle of vinegar. My hubby had the homestyle steak entree with add on delicious stewed apples - peach cobble for dessert equally good. I had enough food for a take out! Our server was great - we weren't rushed. This is a cash only payment option but there is an ATM machine on site. Parking is free but a little tight around peak times. The accessible parking spaces marked on the ground for parallel parking! I feel prices fair for the generous serving sizes and fresh southern favorites plus availability of sandwiches and appetizers if desired & more in line with the budget."
"Grew up in Durham, parents still live in Durham and have eaten at places near Hog Heaven for years (Picnic, Bullock's, Byrd's, Backyard BBQ Pit). Never thought much about Hog Heaven until my brother was in town with his new girlfriend who wanted 'home style cooking'. Bullock's and Byrd's were closed, BBQ Pit wasn't near us and Picnic looked too 'fancy' so to Hog Heaven we went. The place is pretty dingy and the air wasn't working well so not the best ambiance but everyone was getting takeout anyways. Service was quick and the folks were nice enough. Ordered five plates, a pint of chicken and dumplings plus extra okra and it came out to about 70 bucks. Not bad at all. As to the food 1. BBQ tasted pretty smoky but almost in a 'we added liquid smoke way'. Not terribly off-putting but still odd. Not much vinegar taste but the sauce was tasty and added some oomph. 2. Fried chicken -- it was pretty cold and suffered from being in a styrofoam container for the 10 min drive back to my folks' house but was seasoned well. 3. Chicken and dumplings -- excellent. By far the best thing we had and alone worth a trip. Pastry wasn't gummy, had a great ratio of chicken to pastry and was seasoned perfectly. Reminded both my wife and I of our grandmas in eastern NC. 4. Sides were mostly just ok except for the turnips which were canned but seasoned well, the corn and Lima beans which were tasty and the fried okra which was super bland. Hush puppies were fantastic Will definitely be back for some chicken pastry!"
"I have been craving some good wings so I decided to give this place a try. It's a dive bar which is right up my alley. I ordered the Cluckers dozen; 6 boneless and 6 regular wings. The sauces I chose were spicy garlic Parmesan and medium buffalo. I also ordered a Hell Yes Ma'am beer. It was delicious and cold, definitely one of my favorite beers on draft. There were only 2 waitresses working, but they were hustling and friendly. My wings took forever to be brought out to me though and that sucked. When I received them, they were barely warm! What a bummer! The flavors of the sauce were delicious. I'm not sure if I would return."
"I've been here a few times and it's definitely a solid spot to visit if you want your fix of homey Korean food or if you're looking for Korean groceries! Plus they now have a little cafe as well as a K-pop store upstairs if you're interested. When you enter, the restaurant area is to your right and you can order at the front. It can take a while (~20 min last time I visited) for the food to be ready so I usually just browse the grocery store. I've tried several of the rice-based dishes here including the bibimbap, bulgogi dupbap (stir fried bulgogi beef with rice), and jaeyook dupbap (spicy stir fried pork with rice) -- portions are huge and everything has been quite good."
"Spare Ribs!!! Nice char, tender, nice pull off the bone, and great sauce. Bread, beans and greens also excellent."
"Found one of the best places to get a brisket sandwich. Sliced not chopped. Juicy and served with a side order of mayonnaise base coleslaw and three crispy hush puppies."
"My gf and I have been doing the NC Historic BBQ trail. We have hit 13 of the 20 spots on that list. I found this one to be very middle of the road, while my gf absolutely loved the BBQ here. They were doing drive through still, and we both ordered the basic chopped bbq plates with vinegar. The vinegar definitely improved the meal, but I can't put it above many on the NC BBQ trail myself. The hushpuppies and sides were also good for the price. Not a place we felt we'd ever drive out of our way for again, but it was decent."
"We saw this as we were driving by and decided to turn around and check it out.We pulled into the small parking area which is shared with another business which we also checked out. My wife and I were not hungry because we had just eaten but after quickly looking at their ratings on Yelp and Google we knew we had to stop. Since we have moved to North Carolina, my wife has discovered that she loves hush puppies and this gave her another opportunity to try them. They have a menu board on the front and you order through a window, then wait for your number to be called. There is also signage stating there is indoor seating but we did not go inside since we were just grabbing a light snack. As we checked out the menu, others were waiting for their orders and picking up. You know when they have on their menu board "Bulk Orders To Go" it must be good. They sell their BBQ by the pound and the coleslaw, potato salad, Brunswick stew, baked beans, collard greens, and mac and cheese by as much as a gallon. We decided to just try the hush puppies and a side of the mac and cheese. The place looks like it has been here for many years and is a staple in the community. We also were impressed to see their recent health score of 99.My wife enjoyed the hush puppies and although the mac and cheese was creamy I did think the noodles themselves were overcooked.Would we recommend stopping - absolutely!"
"Lechon is located at the Triangle Mall. When I arrived there was only two parties inside of the business. The restaurant is spacious with many tables to sit at or stools at the counter. I placed my order at the counter & my food was brought to me after it was prepared. When I placed my order I had discount for a certain amount off for lunch & a higher amount off for dinner. I arrived at the business close to 3:30 pm. My bill was rang up with the lunch discount. I asked what time lunch was over & I was told 5pm. I have never heard a restaurant having lunch going that late. I got the ribs with beans and plantains. The ribs and beans needed more seasoning. The ribs were a little too fatty but they were tender and the bourbon sauce on them was good. I enjoyed the plantains."
"Family of 3 at e for $33.00. LOVE the BBQ! You've got to do the rib tips and try the "meet me in the middle" sauce. (Note: Rib Tips are the edges - I think - but what makes them so good is that they are very fatty - the char is on all edges - lremember ladies - fat is where the flavor is!) Updated review because they've updated the dining room with new tables and chairs. Still have a nice outside place to sit. Super folks! Great food!"
"Nice place with a wonderful smell of onions and smoky BBQ the minute you walk in. I was shocked that there was so much gluten free. I didn't expect that at all. Nice service. Great brisket. It was next door to a kids play place so it was convenient too. We'll be back."
"A hidden gem in the area with super yummy food. While the wait was roughly 45 mins it was completely worth it. The chicken was cooked to perfection & the Cole slaw reminded me of back home (252) The cornbread wasn't anything to write home about but it also wasn't bad. The highlight of my visit was the low and slow queso."
"Came here to order a box of chicken to go. Hush puppies came with the chicken. Potato salad was creamy but did not get big chunks of potatoes. The fried chicken was very tender and plump, and the skin was crispy and full of flavor."
