Benjamin H. "A wonderful, intimate location for any special occasion. The first thing you notice when you enter, is the classic music, Play ed on LP's, over a high fidelity sound system. The menu is always seasonal, and always inventive. Local food is usually featured, and perfectly prepared.I ordered scallops, and they were perfectly done, with a crisp outside, and a melt in your mouth inside. The greens were crisp and flavorful, with a mash that added the perfect juxtaposition of texture for the dish. The dessert featured fresh berries on a passion fruit puree, with crispy toasted coconut to add the perfect texture.I've been here twice, and every time, they adhere to the French style of cooking where each dish contains a variety of textures and a perfect balance of flavors. The seating is very intimate, which ensures that the service is always impeccable."

We ordered via phone and they said our order would be ready in 10 minutes. They're not real talkative, but they were fast and the food was priced right.I ordered a large egg drop soup and my husband ordered a general tso's chicken which comes with fried rice and an egg roll. Probably the best sushi/omakase I've had especially for that price. I truly enjoyed every one of the 13 nigiris which says a lot because I'm not terribly exploratory with fish and haven't like everything in other omakase experiences. I'd seriously recommend this restaurant and especially their omakase if you're thinking about coming. I really hope I come back because it was really THAT good.Thank you M sushi I'll have dreams about this meal."

Vanessa H. "Had a great meal at Tandem! My friend and I treated ourselves to a nice dinner here on a Sunday night. I made a reservation for 6:30pm for 2, but I don't think it was needed since the restaurant had little people when we got there. The interior inside is very industrial, with lots of wooden features (like the floor, chairs, tabletops) and string lights hanging from the ceiling. The walls were brick, and it had great big industrial windows which provided great natural lighting. The service was fine, but nothing over the top.I ordered the 72 hour short rib, and my friend got the salmon. It was delicious. It came in a Le Creuset pot with mashed potatoes and assorted veggies on the side. Stunning presentation, and might I say, those pots are expensive, and they have multiple of them. But I guess it was worth the investment because it looked really nice. The beef was super juicy and tender. High quality melt-in-your-mouth beef. And they don't shy away from the portion. It looked like a fat square block. But it was genuinely glistening in the light. The mashed potatoes were just alright for me. They had a strong flavor that I can't pinpoint - maybe too much cheese? They also put mint on the mashed potatoes and beef, which was quite a surprise, but I don't think I prefer it. The veggies were a nice touch with the beef. Overall, great experience and amazing food. I definitely would come back for another nice dinner!"

Andrew P. "Consistently tasty Chinese restaurant near Meredith. I always pass this joint driving along Hillsborough. It's an unassuming stand alone building along the road with a slim parking lot. When I saw the reviews, I decided on a whim to stop by and haven't been disappointed since. It's mostly a take out place, although they do have tables inside of you want eat fresh. Since the pandemic they have placed some protection in front of the cashier stand. The owners have a thick accent and can be curt, but they're nice people and busy since it's popular with the students. This recent order was for the Hunan chicken dinner combo. Egg roll not pictured. Standard veggies with chicken in a brown sauce. A "healthier" option for American Chinese food since there's some vitamins instead of just fried chicken ;) The sauce has a nice kick with the pepper flakes and it's not overly greasy like some other places I've visited. I ordered the fried rice with egg: classic taste. The egg roll has a hint of mustard."

Anna P. "If you watch a lot of kdramas, you end up craving the foods that they're eating. They tend to show a lot of KFC (Korean fried chicken not Kentucky fried chicken). And I've been craving some KFC anyway since it's been a while so I knew I needed some takeout from Chicken Bee today! Also, it's cold and rainy today so that was also a factor in deciding tonight's dinner. Chicken Bee is my favorite KFC restaurant in Durham!I will say that the chicken isn't as crispy as BonChon's but they are more generous with the sauce. I always order soy garlic wings and sometimes will get the half order of the hot and spicy chicken. I decided to just order both today since I don't have it that often! Leftovers are also a plus for me since I've been too lazy to cook lately. I like to throw them in the toaster oven or air fryer to reheat. The sauces have great flavor and the chicken is juicy and not dry. I also appreciate that the wings are on the bigger side. The hot and spicy is a pretty good spice level for me; it's got good heat and is tolerable. I always get pickled radish as my side.I ordered on doordash for 2 reasons: I didn't feel like driving in the rain and I know parking is very limited there. I do wish they had a better way of packaging the food so it's not as exposed and could be easily tampered with. The middle part of the bag is tied pretty tightly but it's still open because the handles aren't tied together. Also, the box has a small opening that you can see from the top of the bag."

It is behind where the McDonald's was on Lake Boone.I didn't plan to stop on the second day opened but when driving home I decided to stop. I wasn't sure what the parking situation would be but it wasn't too bad. The outside seating and dumpsters do take up some of the parking spots. The staff is friendly and someone is near the registers to greet you. There are menus near the door too. I'm not sure I like this layout of the restaurant though as when you walk in you walk into the dining area here and nowhere to view the menu without disturbing those eating. Then after ordering to go you basically wait in the dining area too so you are right near those dining in.I ordered egg salad and the three chicken salads with fruit. Then got the grape salad with both meals. I did get a free water bottle for the second day giveaway. They have different giveaways all week."

I looked over the menu and decided to keep it simple by ordering pancakes and bacon. My friend had grits, eggs, biscuits, and a spicy sausage patty. He loved his food because he eats anything and was starving. My pancakes had a weird taste to them and the bacon was cold and soggy. I wasn't very impressed. We went to the register to pay and saw the sign that if paying with card, we would be charged a surcharge. Would've been nice to know that ahead of time, but anywho. I ordered the Brigs Benedict and that came with grits or potatoes and I went with the grits but ended up with both instead. The eggs were cooked properly with runny yolks. This is a good old-fashioned diner with many local patrons serving up Southern hospitality at its finest. I ordered the 2 egg breakfast with sausage patty, grits (of course) and biscuits. This was my first time I ever tried red eye gravy. Think of it as a savory salty unami flavor similar to coconut amino acids. A light sprinkling of it on grits was perfect. We had not just one fluffy biscuit but two per order! Enough to take home and it still tastes great the next morning. Plus, we tried the fatbacks which are similar to pork rinds. Yum! Our sweet server Tanya poured out the Southern hospitality like molasses over hot cakes! We never had an empty cup of coffee during our breakfast here. Jillian S. "TLDR: Beautiful shop full of neat, organized German treats.I've tried their products before at the Triangle Oktoberfest and passed by the bakery in the past. I finally planned a trip to the bakery. I parked right out front and was greeted upon entering. The store is spacious with ample seating and natural light. The large display case is neatly organized with a variety of German treats. Everything is labeled with the name of the item and price. After looking at all the mouthwatering options, I chose the apfel kuchen, Black Forest cookie, and blueberry turnover. Although not as flavorful as I hoped, the Black Forest cookie was good. It would have been better if paired with coffee or tea, which they do sell. I gave the other treats to coworkers and they loved them! In the past I have tried the pretzels and pfeffernusse cookies, which were good, but a bit dry and the pfeffernusse had too much cinnamon for my taste. Similar to the cookie, the pfeffernusse would have been better if paired with coffee or tea. It is pricy, yet comparable to similar bakeries in Cary. They also sell some alcoholic beverages. Overall, these German desserts make a lovely gift or occasional treat."

It's majority grocery store though so don't make it seem like it's a restaurant when you envision this place. But at the same time, you have plenty of seats indoors and outdoors to sit. They have all types of other things to look at and buy like hookah accessories and tea sets. So it's worth shopping just to browse If nothing else as you wait for your food. I tried the chicken shawarma in the beef shawarma sandwiches. I thought that the sandwiches were good. The chicken really did me right, the beef was okay, it got a little bit chewy but it still had a pretty good flavor to it. I probably will stick with the chicken if I were going to go back though!Be careful of the lunch rush because you will be waiting in line if you don't! A lot of the lunch brush would consist of lunch goers as well as a lot of door dash people so just be aware that you may have to wait a bit because of that. There's outdoor seating when the weather permits. There isn't much of a view when you get outside to sit because it's just facing the street but if You wanted to go ahead and try to be outside and catch a breeze This was a good place and they gave it the opportunity to do that. They have a olive bar so if you want to try some different olives there you can, and there are a lot of them to pick from so it wouldn't hurt to try.Even at the part where they have the restaurant they still have meats that you could try. You can actually buy it from there because it is a store as well as a restaurant. The parking lot is a little bit of a type squeeze so just be aware, but at least it's free!"

I could eat the breakfast sandwich every day, it was perfect. They have a long preset list of sandwiches/wraps or you can build your own, which I always do. Also note that breakfast items stop at 11.
