"TLDR: Reasonably priced and portioned Asian food with great flavor. Takeout only after 3 pm. Easy online ordering and pick-up. Decent place for Asian cuisine in Raleigh! We decided to try out a new restaurant for Chinese and picked Ni Asian Kitchen. After 3 pm, they switch to takeout only. We placed a to-go order online. The website was easy to use and the entrees are customizable. I like how they offer choice of all protein options for each entree. Estimated pick up time was 30 min after placing the order. Our order was ready on time and accurate. They were booming on a Saturday evening. The tables were filled with takeout orders and a line of customers inside. I can see why they are popular. The menu is varied and affordable. Plus delicious with heathy and not-as-healthy options. We picked 5 entrees plus an appetizer which came to $70. We ordered orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, Thai basil tofu, Dan Dan noodles with chicken, pot stickers, and vegetable lo mein. All of the items were good and included fresh veggies. The only item we did not like as much was the orange chicken. It lacked orange flavor and mainly tasted like green peppers. We were quickly satisfied and saved about half for leftovers. Overall, we had a good experience here and recommend this restaurant to others!"
"Ummmmmmm...SIMPLY THE BEST!!!! (In my Tina Turner voice) I love this place! Love love love. Every Friday is fish Fridays and I will be in the place. The cabbage and green beans are phenomenal. They're my go to sides. I also love succotash when they have it. Now, let me get to this pork chop. I haven't ate a pork chop in sooooooo long and man this was a perfect way to get back in the pork chop game! Delicious!!!! So yummy...frfr. And it's clearly the neighborhood spot, it stays packed! Run don't walk to Woodard Family BBQ & Grill."
""Tasty sandwiches and wraps right off NCSU's campus"Right on Hillsborough Road right across from campus is this hole-in-the-wall option. We came here on a Thursday evening around 6pm... a good number of people were there. I ordered the Chicken Tawouk wrap (combo option, so with fries and bottle drink), and the rest of my party had sandwiches or chicken strips. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. There are a few outdoor tables as well, and we grabbed one of those. The food came out in about 10 minutes or so. My wrap was DELICIOUS-- I loved the combination of flavors. Really tasty, though a bit messy to eat since it dripped a lot. The fries were fine -- nothing to write home about. The rest of my party loved their food too.The service was EXCELLENT. Very friendly. Even though we sat outside, they checked on us multiple times, and even brought us some complementary bits (including extra water bottles since it was hot outside). The price is not unreasonable-- not a cheap place but fine for being right by campus on a busy street and fair for the quality we got.Overall, I'd come back. Good food at decent price."
"The major issue with this restaurant is that everything 'spicy' is cut from the same spice cloth. If you just got one thing, maybe you wouldn't notice - that one piece of cloth is pretty tasty! But when your Chongqing chili chicken, your boiled fish in chili oil, and your dry pot all taste basically the same with a few minor variations, it gets a little much.I'm thankful for the waiter, who overheard me wondering if I could handle triple chili pepper spicy, and reassured us that it wasn't spicy. Having sweat my entire face off in dry pot restaurants in Chongqing and Chengdu, I was skeptical, but indeed - 'three chili pepper spicy' wasn't even enough to bead my forehead. So, taken separately - the chili chicken was probably the best, in a satisfying finger food kind of way. Like much more exciting chicken fingers. This would be followed by the fish, which has a thicker chili sauce/broth and a decent stewy bite. The dry pot, while tasty, is really too saucy to be dry and gives the textural impression of, I don't know, yakisoba."
"My FAVORITE donuts in Raleigh! Dough not sleep on these... get it?? Of course you do. That was a bad pun... Jokes aside, these sourdough doughnuts have changed my opinion on doughnuts. I used to not be a fan of them in general but after discovering Tepuy, my world has changed. It did a full 180, as the kids say. I love the lemon poppyseed so much! As well as the other handful of doughnuts that I've tried, honestly. You really can't go wrong. Tepuy doughnuts are handmade fresh and always delicious. They're always cranking out new flavors and have even created special donuts for holidays like Maddi gras. I'm always recommending them to friends... I even offer to go with them (mainly so I have an excuse to eat more doughnuts). If you haven't tried them yet, DO IT. treat yourself."
"This is a delightful Asian restaurant which appears to be run by an Indian family. It's fantastic!Sizzling Stirfry offers a variety of Asian dishes with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options in a casual dining environment. My wife had the sweet corn soup and egg rolls. She loved the soup. The egg rolls come with the chefs special sauce which is sweet with the faintest hint of heat. The egg rolls themselves had a unique seasoning which was outstanding. I had the the Thai curry with medium spice. Medium spice here is pretty spicy. I may go for this just a bit less spicy next time. The sauce was thicker than a traditional yellow curry more like the consistency of Japanese curry. The server talked me into a mango lassi. It was delicious. Service was outstanding!!!If you like vegetarian food, I'm sure theirs would be delicious. We had great experience and will be back"
"My experience at "Buldaegi BBQ House" was super good! The customer service was top notch and the food was amazing. Just because it's not an AYCE (All You Can Eat), don't count this place out! For the affordable prices, the portions of the meat are worth it. Each of the different cuts of meat is also unique and well-marinated. I'm usually not a fan of chicken at KBBQ's but that chicken bulgogi was top-notch. The sided items were also worth mentioning! The egg and cheese corn was my favorite. We couldn't finish the meat so we were able to pack it home for another meal."
"Met a couple friends here on a Thursday night. Place was not very busy at about 6PM. Staff helped us rearrange some tables and then patiently took our orders. There are plenty of drink options including some great local-ish craft beers, on tap and in cans/bottles. Cocktails are also available. The food that others ordered looked good. A chicken wrap got a positive review from my niece. My wings made me sick. This place bills itself as having the best wings in the triangle. I have to disagree, after spending an evening on the toilet. It could have been one or two that were underdone, but if you decide to try them, look closely as you eat them. And honestly, they weren't the best wings I've ever had. With so many options in the area, I don't think I'd ever return."
"Not sure why this place has less than 4 stars. It's not a high end bougie restaurant, but the menu is extensive and has something for everyone. I would call this upscale/craft bar food. We came on National Margarita Day so I opted for the premium margarita. Not the best I have ever had, but it was smooth and not cheap tasting. Very good. We got the zucchini fries to start. Amazing. Light and crispy with the best homemade ranch. I always ask my server what their favorite menu item is if I've never been. I opted for her recommendation which I had been eyeing anyways - the sweet spicy fried chicken sandwich. Had a major kick without too much sweet which I loved. Get yourself some ranch or blue cheese on the side to dip it in to cut the spice a bit. My friend got the cheeseburger flatbread. It was huge. Our server says the size differs based on who is in the kitchen just fyi. Loved our server Sarah. We also came in on a Tuesday which happened to be trivia night so even though we were terrible it was fun!"
"I love mom & pops Chinese restaurants. It could either be a hit or a miss. This one was a special hit! I was quite impressed! I was craving simple Chinese takeout and this place did the trick. I ordered some shrimp and broccoli, which came with a side of white rice. The portion didn't seem a lot at first but once I poured it on my plate, WOW! Shrimp & Broccoli - The sauce complimented it just the way I like it. There was just enough sauce to give it a kick. The shrimps were huge! Most places cheap put on the shrimp. The broccoli also had a nice bite and crunch to it. Dumplings: Must have! Not your typical dumplings. Super flavorful with a nice texture to the wrapper. It also came with a special sauce that was out of this world. Overall, good customer service! Constant traffic during dinner time, which means that it's good!"
"I can't believe I've never been to Lumpy's! I've had their ice cream at events around town but here they are, only a few miles from other businesses I frequent. I love ice cream and there are definitely many choices at the grocery store, but there is something special about going to an ice cream shop. Does it enhance the flavor? Maybe not, but smell has been known to (science) and Lumpy's smells of waffle cones and vanilla deliciousness.I've gotten away from visiting local and this Lumpy's visit was part of my efforts to improve. On this Sunday around 2pm it was pretty empty which allowed me to feel comfortable asking to sample a couple flavors before committing (which is welcomed anyway). I sampled Anna's Anise, which was so unique and refreshing but I couldn't see eating a cup of it. My husband sampled Montezumas Revenge, a very spicy chocolate. The nice young man serving us did ask him first if he's ok with spice - he was warned. Even my husband who will dump an entire spice tray on his Thai food said it was legitimately spicy! So again, a very intriguing flavor but not up to an entire cup of it. I ended up with hazelnut coffee which was fantastic and he got Apple Pie, also very tasty. The creamy, icy balance stayed perfect throughout. There were so many choices, and from what I understand, they use local, natural ingredients. I will be back to try more of the regular offerings along with seasonal flavors. The inside of the shop is simple, not trendy or themed, just lots of nods to the Lumpy's brand and the Wake Forest area. You can feel the love here. There is a small parking lot and it's also walkable from White Street."
"We got the crab Rangoons first and they looked great and were cooked great, only issue was the filling was lacking to be kind. However, they made up for it with our meals. We were worried, after the Rangoons; but they were all cooked perfectly. The quality was great and for the price--job well done. We didn't get a picture of the carb, but just in case, we did of our meals. We are ordering dessert now. Ambiance is pleasing, clean, and cozy. Service was great; Thank you Josh."

Visit Restaurant Page"My experience with Eastern Carolina barbecue turned out to be most memorable here. I had a group of 5 and everyone raved about it. For me, the experience with the pork is what I will remember most. It seems like this place relies on their slow technique to provide the flavor instead of seasoning. It comes out incredibly juicy, and in this case their sauce complements it perfectly instead of overwhelming it. But on top of all of that, the hush puppies were addictive, the chicken was tender and juicy, the potato salad was wonderful, and even the sweet tea was perfect. As an out of towner passing through from Philly, this will be a meal I remember for a long time."
"From the moment you step into Flying Bull Brewery and Restaurant at 300 Morris Street, you know you're in for a treat. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between upscale and welcoming, debunking any myths of it being just another dive brewery. The bar is immaculate, and the dining area could easily pass for a five-star setting, yet nothing feels pretentious. The heart of Flying Bull's charm, however, lies in its people. Mackenzie, our server, was a standout--attentive, engaging, and knowledgeable. Her recommendations were spot-on, ensuring that each dish from the diverse and delectable menu was a delight. The Shrimp-topped Caesar Salad and Grilled Chicken Sandwich with curry marinade were culinary triumphs, and the Almonds and Olives appetizer was an unexpected joy. The truffle fries? Simply irresistible. The drinks menu deserves its own applause. Whether you're a fan of wine, craft beers, or unique cocktails, there's something here to quench your thirst and elevate your meal.Even the owner made his rounds, adding a personal touch that made our experience feel even more special. It's this kind of attention to detail and customer care that has us planning our next visit already. Flying Bull isn't just a restaurant; it's a cornerstone for memorable evenings. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a stellar dining experience in Durham."
"Brigs is a decent place for breakfast. The Creedmoor location is smaller than expected so that explains the large waiting area in the front. Service was mostly ok but I never got a refill on my tea like the rest of the table so that was odd. I ordered the Brigs Benedict and that came with grits or potatoes and I went with the grits but ended up with both instead. The eggs were cooked properly with runny yolks. The meal was filling enough without either side. The grits were cold so I didn't eat either side. I did like the tomatoes and included fruit. I'd eat here again but it wouldn't be my first choice."
"So, I had Champa a few months ago through Uber Eats and was blown away by their veggie pineapple rice. I was just as blown away yesterday when I decided to dine in. The place was packed, so I sat at the bar. I had already decided that I wanted curry, so I was torn between red, green, and yellow. I asked the server about them, and she said she didn't really know. I went with the green curry and vegetables as my protein. When I asked what vegetables were included with this, she again said she didn't know but never offered to ask or get back to me with the answer. I waited a while for my food, which I was expecting. I got to check out more of their decor and see the sushi makers make magic! The wait was worth it as my curry came out piping hot! The first thing I noticed was all the veggies--broccoli, onions, carrots, bok choy, green beans, and other colorful veggies filled my bowl! I took a big first bite and was blown away by the delicious heat and spice. Every bite was so good! Wish that my stomach could fit more, but I took this deliciousness home where it will greet me for lunch or dinner!Minus one star for the service as my server never came back to check on me and was not helpful with the menu selections. I will be back for more deliciousness!"
"This place made me feel like I was home. And I'm not even from NC. My grandma didn't make our food, but it was made with so much love I would've thought she did. The chicken is crispy, seasoned, and the hush puppies got right in me greatly. Great food for the price and filled with southern love. Love from Jerry."
"I don't know why I haven't written this place up already, but I have a friend who I always get tacos with and this was her go-to place she introduced me to. It is attached to a little market also, so double bonus if you need to pick up any Mexican food items! The things I love here, especially during covid, is they take orders in advance for pick up, and they give you so much food and it won't hurt your wallet! Their horchata is super refreshing, their tacos you can tell are made with love, and their chicken quesadilla plate that comes with rice and beans is so filling! They really pack it with chicken which is rare to see! My husband loved their fish plate too and we have had their enchiladas that are also a winner. So definitely a place we will keep going back to, and one of the better Mexican food options in the area for sure! Super nice owners and workers here, so if you are hungry this place is for you! It is a tiny little place so if you do want to eat in, just know there are only a few small tables so I think better set up for take out. They have their own entrance from the parking lot too or it connects through the little market!"
"We tried this spot for the first time --takeout only during COVID-19. The quality of the fish is definitely much better than most sushi spots and their ginger are freshly hand cut (not bought from pre-packages). The presentation, packaging and staff were all very nice. I would come back here again & recommend this cute little spot to anyone else."
"My fried rice Friday journey came back with me to North Carolina and I have not found another place that does it better than Szechuan Garden. Formerly Orient Garden many years ago, this was the spot we would come for some Americanized Chinese food, mainly their sesame chicken. Today, Szechuan Garden is a spot where I will have my weekly fried rice Friday, or even share a traditional Chinese meal with my family.I can honestly say that everything I've eaten from Szechuan Garden has been delicious. A family favorite is their squirrel fish, a fried fish that is covered in sweet and sour sauce. Their sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. They serve traditional vegetables and we love their noodles, particularly their chow fun. They have options that get as traditional as it can get, and we love that! Now, the fried rice that has won over my heart is their young chow fried rice. This is a fried rice with not a lot of vegetables, and a ton of different meats. It has egg, shrimp, chicken and beef! The fried rice is over seasoned and oily, but both in a good way. They make it the kind of way that overloads your taste buds with all sorts of delicious spice and flavor. It's easily one of the best fried rice dishes in the area, no contest. I've also had a bunch of their appetizers on these occasions, their homemade dumplings, their chicken wings and their Szechuan noodles. All of their appetizers pass the test as well! It all tastes fresh, has good flavor and fairly affordable. I can see Szechuan Garden being my go-to Chinese restaurant for the foreseeable future. Whether you need an Americanized dish or something traditional, Szechuan Garden will serve you Chinese food that you will rave about!"
"Good things about this place:1 - beautiful restaurant and ambiance2 - unique menu and dishes with lots of variety 3 - not too loud, you can have conversations4 - some excellent appetizers - duck was deliciousNeed for improvement things1 - service is pretty slow, especially the bar service2 - my Caribbean chicken entree was a bit dried out but the flavor was good3 - the steak wasn't cooked right so we had it sent it back, though it was good. It tasted like it was marinated in vinegar/ chimmichuri and I hope that's not because the meat went bad 4 - wait staff didn't check on us 5 - one of our entrees was delivered 10 minutes after all the others 6 - it's pretty expensive for what it is"
"Very fun spot for drinks, eats (BYOF), and music. Outside of their own selection, their RTP location has a large variety of drinks from other local breweries. Very large back patio area with tables and events. Very nice vibe there overall, the staff and patrons are friendly and inviting. *murals in the back are very dope!"

Love love love this place I could eat this cooking every night for dinner. The fried chicken is amazing, the Mac & Cheese is delish, the collards and the cabbage are both phenomenal, and then they give you fried cornbread that will make your mouth water for more!!!!! Did I mention the fried cornbread?!! Ha it's that GOOD!! They also serve you fried fatback which is good. Matter of fact, we're going there for dinner! I just can't wait! If you like some good ole' down home southern soul cooking, then this is the place to go!! The customer service is amazing. They will keep a check on you to make sure you're good and don't need anything else and if you do they will kindly get it for you. I can't recommend this place enough. It's a very nice family atmosphere where you feel at home. Go get some dinner!! You won't be disappointed:))

We needed a late night bite to eat after being at GalaxyCon all day. We landed on Meat & Bite. Let me tell you. This was hands down my favorite restaurant I've been to so far this year. They have a fairly Simple menu but I ain't mad about that. They do each menu item to perfection. Fresh ingredients. Incredible flavors. Smashed Cheeseburger - Soft Bun , flavorful beef with a crispy skirt, homemade burger sauce is delicious. (I even asked for extra to dip my fries in) homemade pickle and thinly sliced onions. The perfect burger. Hot chicken sandwich- Crispy Chicken, the perfect amount of heat in the sauce, lettuce, homemade pickles and an aioli sauce. Sooooo good if you want something with a bit of heat.3 chicken tacos - hands down the BEST, most flavorful tacos I've had this year. A MUST TRY. So we'll seasoned. Onions , cilantro , aioli and cheese compliment the chicken perfectly. (These tacos got us to return the next day for more. That's how good they are, same with the smash burger) Garlic Parmesan Wings- Perfectly Cooked, well coated in Garlic Parmesan sauce. Excellent presentation. So yummyThe Fries was a surprising hit! My favorite fried so far this year as well. Mozzarella Sticks had a great cheese pull and the marinara sauce to dip them in was the perfect accompaniment. Not overwhelming the flavor of the mozz sticks. Seriously. Go try this place. I can't compliment them enough. It's incredible. Staff was super friendly. Cleared empty trays quickly. Always asking if we needed anything. Got us To-go containers when we asked for them. Will definitely be back!

"Szechuan and other Chinese food on Guess Rd in Durham"Nestled in a strip shopping center with "Ollie's" and Italian Pizzeria is this little gem. We came on a Saturday night with a group of 5. The restaurant is fairly brightly lit and welcoming. There were a few other customers, but not many. The menu had Chinese-American restaurant staples (e.g., sesame chicken and the like) as well as a few Szechuan dishes. I went for the spicy eggplant. We shared an order of crab rangoon, and others at m table ordered sesame tofu, a seafood hotpot, and a dish with shiitake mushrooms and baby bok choi. We were brought a pitcher of water for the table, which was nice so we had it as we needed it. Each dish came with a choice of white or fried rice. One nice thing I saw-- you had the choice of chicken fried rice, and the eggrolls (which we didn't order) were also chicken-- good for non-pork eaters. We liked our food overall. My spicy eggplant was absolutely delicious-- perfectly cooked japanese eggplant and seasoning. It was quite mild to my taste-- not really that spicy overall-- but I was looking for flavor over heat so I didn't mind. My son really liked his seafood hotpot-- it had surprisingly little liquid but a mountain of seafood (fake crab meat, fish balls, and more) and tofu in it. My daughter liked the sesame tofu-- I had a bite and it was fine. The crab rangoons were good/ pretty typical. The least popular (but still OK) dish was the mushroom & bok choi... it was oddly slimy and not wonderfully flavored, but again it was still OK. Don't think any of us will order that again in the future, but it was worth trying. The only negative was the pacing of the meal, though this was partly our fault. We didn't get our dishes at the same time, and the polite among us let their dishes get cold waiting for the other dishes to arrive. There was perhaps a 10-15 minute gap between the first and last dish arriving (and weirdly the appetizer came after the hotpot). This all would have not been a problem if we were eating "family style" with everyone sharing dishes as they arrived, but we instead ordered individual dishes, so this was less than ideal (again, partly our fault).Price was fair-- came to roughly $80 before tip. Given this fed 5 of us, and we had some leftovers to take home, that's pretty reasonable.Given Gourmet Kingdom in Carrboro is a bit of a hike for those of us in North Durham, this is a decent option for some Szechuan or other Chinese food in the area-- good chance we'll come back and try more on the menu.

Finally got around to trying this place out. Super super cute!! I love the inside. My hubs ordered the Singapore noodles and I got the curry. My hubs raved about the noodles and he's pretty picky. The curry was yummy, but not one I'd try again (I'm really big on nuttier, comfort curries and this one is brighter with more sour notes than I typically like in a curry, so if that's your jam, their curry is for you!) Their menu looks amazing and we can't wait to return to try out more of their dishes!

Yum yum yum!!!! Love this BBQ!!! My favorite is still Seoul garden but this place is delicious as well. They charge you extra for another round of sides if you request for it. At Seoul garden they don't well at least i never saw it reflected on my bill. This place is a bit more pricey I'm than the rest. It's a very small place. There was only two guys working that night running food. It was not the fastest service but ok none the less. We did order a lot of food my friends and I.

You can never go wrong with Woody's. If you've ever been to the one in downtown Raleigh you already know this. Great food, great drinks, and a lively atmosphere. It's also the perfect spot to go to after a night out. They always have drink specials too.One thing I just learned about was the happy hour on weekdays from 4-6! This is amazing because their appetizer list is huge and there's all sorts of things you can get from quesadillas and nachos to egg rolls and sliders. Since it was happy hour we got the cheesesteak nachos, buffalo chicken rangoon, cheeseburger sliders, and steak quesadilla. All for half off and all hot and delicious with generous portions. The best thing at woodys to my friends and I is the philly cheesesteak nachos. If you don't get anything , GET THIS. You'll see why. Also, if you're vegan they have a beyond meat option and it's amazing in their patty melts.
Visit Restaurant Page"I may have found my new favorite Italian cuisine in RDU! I reallly wanted some pasta the other night and this restaurant hit the mark! We ordered cocktails, lobster ravioli with jumbo shrimp, and veal marsala. That saffron sauce in the ravioli was perfection and very fresh. I even tried the veal and it was tender and well seasoned. They serve plenty of pasta combos, including a build your own option, pizza, salads, sandwiches, and desserts. They offer weekday lunch specials until 230p and daily specials, such as:$8 martinis on Tuesday and FridayAPPY Hour from 2-6 on Monday and Saturday$5 mimosas on Sunday"
"If you watch a lot of kdramas, you end up craving the foods that they're eating. They tend to show a lot of KFC (Korean fried chicken not Kentucky fried chicken). And I've been craving some KFC anyway since it's been a while so I knew I needed some takeout from Chicken Bee today! Also, it's cold and rainy today so that was also a factor in deciding tonight's dinner. Chicken Bee is my favorite KFC restaurant in Durham!I will say that the chicken isn't as crispy as BonChon's but they are more generous with the sauce. I always order soy garlic wings and sometimes will get the half order of the hot and spicy chicken. I decided to just order both today since I don't have it that often! Leftovers are also a plus for me since I've been too lazy to cook lately. I like to throw them in the toaster oven or air fryer to reheat. The sauces have great flavor and the chicken is juicy and not dry. I also appreciate that the wings are on the bigger side. The hot and spicy is a pretty good spice level for me; it's got good heat and is tolerable. I always get pickled radish as my side.I ordered on doordash for 2 reasons: I didn't feel like driving in the rain and I know parking is very limited there. I do wish they had a better way of packaging the food so it's not as exposed and could be easily tampered with. The middle part of the bag is tied pretty tightly but it's still open because the handles aren't tied together. Also, the box has a small opening that you can see from the top of the bag."
"I like this place because it's authentic, not American-ized food.I'm the only non-hispanic in the place. I ordered shrimp, chicken, and carnitas tacos. 3.99 for 4 small shrimp is a bit pricey for that taco, and the corn tortillas not doubled up. So eating with a fork as it tore immediately from the sauces.Shrimp was OK, chicken better, but the flavor was in the carnitas. They offer a salsa toppings bar but not self-service. Add lettuce, tomatoes, onion, and cilantro. Other toppings as cheese, sour cream, salsa, for a price. A lime piece for each one adds nice citrus touch. I'm glad it's local, so I don't have to drive to Raleigh for authentic Latin American/ Hispanic food.Saw other items on the menu I'd like to try."
"If your looking for a comfortable rooftop bar, tucked away in one of Raleigh's best neighborhoods, this one will hit the spot.Oddly enough they do have separate entrances for the rooftop bar, not only does it offer a large outdoor bar, there is a large interior bar as well. I was impressed with the size of the outdoor seating area, very comfortable, they do have fans and cooling towers for those heavy humid days.Cheers!"
"The Brodhead center is a fantastic place to eat with numerous options- from Indian to Mexican food. Sazon is the Latin American option with delicious and healthy. I had a bowel with chicken, rice, sauces of some kind, and sweet plantains. My only complaint is the people serving the food did not really give explanation about what toppings are included. I guess they expect students who have been there and know exactly what to order. In addition, I felt they were a bit stingy with the sweet plantains, which are also extra cost. I think if these things were changed, I would return in a heart beat!"
"If your looking for a real café that delivers nothing but the finest southern hospitality NC has to offer, this is the real deal. Yes it is difficult to get a table or a stool at peak times, fortunately the wait shouldn't be to long, this place runs like a fine tuned machine that delivers every order hot and fresh, even the staff eat standing up.It is a family run café, not a waffle house, and everything they serve comes with a flavor of its own. I have only been there twice and the food hasn't bored my taste buds yet, I keep going back for more and look forward to breakfast on my next visit. Your not just another receipt here, they take excellent care of everyone who walks in the door.Cheers!"
"Love this small family owned restaurant. We have been coming here since we moved to Holly Springs and they haven't changed their quality in good. In fact they give attention to details. Most restaurant only keep one size straw but they have straws for children and I was so impressed by this. Loyal customers come back even though there's another Thai restaurant in town that serves sushi. It might not be super packed during lunch but you get serve quickly and greeted well. The food is delicious, fresh and well cooked. We ordered dumplings and fried cheese sticks for a starter. The dumplings's skin was crispy and filled. It paired well with the soy dipping sauce. The cheese sticks are gooey and very stretchy. As for the main dish, I got a pad see ewe with shrimp. I love how they make their sauce and the noodles are spot on. This is what I normally get.On my recent visit, I tried something new! I got pad Woon combination (beef, chicken and shrimp. It is served with rice. This dish reminds me of Filipino pancit. I liked it.The fish cake is nice but it has a kick. It comes with a fish peanut sauce which was delish. My daughter loved her shrimp on a blanket. This is certainly a place to come back to. It might not like be the big one down the street but they offer great dish that tastes sooo good."
"Small, local Cafe in quaint part of Clayton. My chicken salad sandwich had the sweetest tomato known to mankind. The pasta salad was tasty but the amazing part was the chocolate cake. They offer a range of cakes and pies that leaves your mouth watering Love that they also have outside picnic tables. Plus they offer a full range of Hershey ice cream flavors."
"I didn't know fries could get even better. They have figured out how to make loaded fries that stay crispy! I love crunchy foods, so I usually avoid loaded items, but decided to give Fry Guy a try. My husband and I shared a Loaded French Fry. The baconey cheese sauce chive bites were great, but we equally loved the mostly fry bites. Each fry was super seasoned and cooked perfectly! I loved all the different options too- from regular fries to different toppings."
"This is a great place if you're buying lunch for a meeting. Make sure to call ahead of time to place your order. My favorite from here is the "chicken salad sandwich". It's one of the best I've had in the area! I would highly recommend it!"
"If you're in the mood for tacos (and when am I not), this taco place on the corner of Chido St. and Taco Ave. fits the bill. Ok, maybe that's not the name of the intersection, but it's close to the theater and the downtown hotels on the south end of the city. Or just use Maps to find it.The tacos came out pretty plain, but I later found out they have a fixin's bar like Roy Rogers had back in the day. I loaded up my chorizo and Al Pastor tacos with onions and cilantro for a classic street taco style. The Shrimp Tacos were odd, but good. They had a corn tortilla laid flat with shrimp, then they melted cheese on top almost like an open face quesadilla. Sounds amazing, but eating it was a challenge.Free drink refills were available which is always a plus. Seating was a bit limited and it got crowded during the noon hour. I'd probably go again if I could beat the lunch crowds."
"Soo Cafe comes to Wake Forest! Have been to the Raleigh location many times, so it's nice to have this spot closer to home. The same high quality, the same taste, even better service. Korean Fried Chicken, with SOGA (soy sauce and garlic) is the way to go. I prefer the boneless dark meat so I don't have to fight with the bones in the wings, but any way you like it, the chicken is the bomb. The coating is super crunchy, the meat is tender and moist and the sauce is phenomenal. Pro tip - save some white rice to mix in with the leftover SOGA. YUM! Also tried bulgogi and bulgogi bibimbap. Both dishes can be prepared to a desired spice level. Bulgogi is thinly sliced and wonderfully marinated (I chose beef) and then stir fried with veggies. It's sweet and savory. Bibimbap is a rice bowl; stir fried veggies, a protein (again I chose beef) served over rice with gochujang. It's spicy but delicious. Welcome to Wake Forest, Soo. I know I'll be back!"
"My gf and I have been doing the NC Historic BBQ trail. We have hit 13 of the 20 spots on that list. I found this one to be very middle of the road, while my gf absolutely loved the BBQ here. They were doing drive through still, and we both ordered the basic chopped bbq plates with vinegar. The vinegar definitely improved the meal, but I can't put it above many on the NC BBQ trail myself. The hushpuppies and sides were also good for the price. Not a place we felt we'd ever drive out of our way for again, but it was decent."
