PoNiño's Cajun Tex-Mex

The costumer service is so great here! The food is made with so much love you can taste it in every bite! I tried the Cajun pasta. One of my faves!

Alright so listen here food community, this is THEE spot, yes - a MUST go to when in Houston. The menu, service and food is impressive and I had the PRIVILEGE to meet one of the co-owners. What luck!?!? Much respect to the owners and chefs for not skimping out on portion sizes - by no means were these "salad" shrimp - those bad boys were HUGE...and the fish?!? WHEW!!! Let me tell you...those hard earned "no one wants to admit we're in a recession" dollars - your wallet will be respected as each bite is beyond worth it! Ambiance/Decor was so well thought of - a true ode to the Black & Houston's 3rd Ward's culturally rich communities. Going back is an absolute must and I would highly suggest sampling your way around the menu. As a frequent traveller - I'll certainly be back but only one question remains...When will we get a location in the DMV area?!? You guys will CRUSH it!!!

Visited this place the other day with my cousins and the food was good! Here are the deets:Pros: --Food was served pretty quickly and came out hit--the included extra sauce for free, so that I could taste a different flavor than what comes with the empanadas--the inside and outside areas are nice and clean for sitting and enjoying your meal--the jalepeno poppers were really good! And unlike most, they actually had some kick to them, AND you can tell that they use a quality bacon--not that cheap crap. (I'm an HEB brands connoisseur and I think it's HEB thick cut bacon. LOL!)--I snuck a piece of fish off of my cousin's plate, and it was sooooooo good. So, I'm looking to try that next time that the gates sauce. YOU MUST GET THE GATES SAUCE!!!!!--Nice touch with the flosspick they provide!Cons:--If you eat outside, you have to deal with the smokers, and the tons of uber eats and doordash drivers.--The kiosk doesn't list all of their items, so you're better off using their app. (Hopefully the location's management takes care of this, bc I find using the kiosk to be more convenient, and my phone's battery is always low.)Overall: The food was good, and I plan to come back.

Visiting town for the weekend and I just had to stop by and try PoNiños after hearing ALL of my friends talk about it. Hands down the best food I've had in a VERY long time; I was not disappointed at all. The flavor in the food was incredible and customer service was exceptional! PoNiños has the perfect mix between tex-mex and Cajun, what more could you ask for? Can't wait to keep watching the restaurant grow and thrive right in the heart of the city I love the most!
