Playa Azul Seafood & Oyster Bar

Neat spot specializing in seafood. Gives sports bar vibes & has various games on the TVs but I wasn't really impressed with the food. I tried the raw oysters and they were not satisfying at all. I kept eating pieces of shell from how they were shucked. Then I ordered my food. Bacon wrapped chicken, a little salty & it came out cold so I was very underwhelmed. The waitress took it back to heat it up at my request but then she forgot about it until I asked for my food back. Once again I got my hopes up high for oysters and great seafood but left dissatisfied. I tried my friend's stuffed crab & fish but it too was just blah. Margaritas were decent but tasted more sour, than margarita & tequila.

Good atmosphere, fast friendly service and fresh delicious food! Micheladas were delicious. Gumbo is good. The hush puppies were awesome. Fried shrimp were huge.

Some really good gumbo, trying restaurant for first time since they moved to this location. Very pleasing, clean looking interior. Also have nice looking outdoor patio sitting on good weather days. I posted pix of menu so you can see pricing. Discount if paying cash instead of credit. Not sure if "cash"includes debit card or not.

DELICIOUS!!! If you're wanting gumbo or oysters on the 1/2 or TACO'S. It's all exceptional. Who would ever think that?We do!

Service is wonderful and food is delicious. I love the expanded menu in to Mexican food. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Been here a few times and it is a hit or a miss on service , the food is good but the service definitely could use some help.

This place deserve every single one of these 5 stars. My wife and I just moved in the area and had been going to the well known captain toms but after coming here I don't think we will ever go back to the boat. Playa azul met all of our expectations starting with the restaurant it self. The place was very clean and brightly lit up with music constantly playing. We got seated right away and had our beers on the table within 5 minutes. We started with micheladas, gumbo, crab fingers, ceviche, and we finished off with the Cancun plate. All were delicious. The waiter was constantly checking on us and when she got busy another waiter also stopped by to make sure we didn't need anything. We can't wait to go back.

I'll give this an above average experience. The seafood tasted fresh. Lots of fried options would've liked more steamed or baked options for a healthier choice. Lots of hot sauce choices which were nice. I appreciated the napkins and crackers already at the table. I liked the various flavors. The seafood tower was yummy and definitely a shareable dish. The fried jalapeños, fish and shrimp were yummy. I'm not a fan of crust on my seafood but it was still tasty. I would definitely recommend and will definitely be back. Clean bathrooms and interior. Parking lot has many spots but can be full due to the other shops .

The food is decent I think this spots specialty is its bar, this spot was more pricey, had small portions and lacked the seasoning that many other competitors have. The portions are small for the price, I got 3 shrimp a stuffed crab plate for $15 and it was served on a side plate due to the portion size. Compared to other spots like Mambos that have the generous dish with 6 fried shrimp, same stuffed crab and a generous amount of fried rice for $10.29, double the portions for 5 dollars less! They also don't do the typical chips and salsas that every Mexican restaurant does, they charge haha. That's when I knew it was gonna be mid. Service is good, props to the waiters.

Tasty and affordable price Mexican style seafood! My coworker and I had been wanting to find a place that has a good ceviche and we finally gave Playa Azul Seafood & Oyster bar a chance last Friday and I honestly do not have any complaints, simply delicious! The customer service was amazing and super friendly our waiter was very helpful and kind when it came to me asking various questions regarding entrees and appetizers since I had never been to the restaurant before. The seating was quick and easy we literally got there, and we got a booth right away. The ambience is nice and festive perfect for a birthday party/celebration or just any good Friday afternoon after work. My coworker and I both got ceviche and I can honestly say it has been the best ceviche I have ever had in a while. I got the shrimp one and my coworker the mixed shrimp and fish which were both amazing ! enough shrimp and veggies to keep you full and satisfied, I asked for them to make it spicy and they said they would add jalapenos to it or I had the option of choosing from many salsas they had. The ceviche came with three crunchy tostadas which gave it the perfect taste, they also had enough saltines crackers if you decide tostadas is not your thing. We both had a margarita drink she had a large and I had a small size which both were a great size for their cost. We then decided to see their desserts menu and ended up buying the churros but they also have crazy banana and fried ice cream. The churros were tasty and did not had a lot of sugar as I expected which makes it better. The parking space is very easy to get to, the restaurant is located at the corner of the shopping center which makes it easy to find a parking space around it and you won't have to walk too long to get to it.I am overall satisfied with the experience and would give it a 5 star and will definitely be back and try their tacos al pastor next time.
