This a nice spot off 59 by El Campo. We didn't eat much just fried pickles coleslaw and the hurricane drink (so good). My daughter had the gumbo and she is a picky eater. She said it was good. I don't eat gumbo outside of Louisiana or prepared by Louisianan's for fear of being disappointed, lol. We were a little annoyed with the flies but we will def return!

The restaurant is clean and has plenty of random wall decor. We stopped in for lunch on the way hime from a wknd trip... we ordered chicken fried steak, 1/2lb boiled shrimp and onion rings. The onion rings were very good. Crispy, well seasoned and good portion size. The chicken fried steak was served extremely hot and smothered in white gravy. The serving was hefty, actually enough for 2 to enjoy. The boiled shrimp was "ok". Nothing over the top or exceptional. The melted butter tastes like what you get on your popcorn at a movie theater. Don't be in a rush because it takes a good while to get your food. The service is friendly. The ducks, fish & turtles are a nice distraction. 50¢ in the machine to get some pellets to feed them all. Stop in if you want a good helping of food and aren't in any hurry.

Aside from them forgetting about us in the beginning the service was good once the waitress realized we were her table. Food was very good. Quite salty a lot of fried food. But very good. Definitely needed a nap after that

Highly recommend!! Super cool atmosphere, you can dine inside or outside next to the little lake area. You can even pay 50 cents to feed the fish!! The service was great, really relaxed environment. My husband had the chicken fried steak with a salad and French fries. I had the combo meal with fried shrimp, fried alligator bites, hush puppies, and fried okra. We also had the appetizer of fried calamari. The food was delicious!! And the portions were amazing, definitely TEXAS SIZED! We will definitely be going back to enjoy again!

Stopped by on our way to Rockport. Being a Sunday right around the time church was getting out the place was packed thus service was slow and it took nearly an hour to get our food. Can't really blame them for that. Once we got it was nice and hot and very tasty! Large portions too. Loved the ducks and turtles outside then a quick stop at the candy shop next door.

Saw a sign on the highway so I looked this up on Yelp. After seeing the good reviews, we decided to come here for lunch. The restaurant is a short drive from the highway. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Plus they have ducks that the kids can feed for 50 cents. Near the duck area there are settings to swing on.The menu has a good amount of variety for both fish lovers and fish haters. We started off with an order of hush puppies. They were very good with a little bit of heat. The kid and I liked them, hubs not so much. He prefers them to be sweet. For lunch I got a salad with blackened tuna on top. You could also get it with chicken or mahi. It was a good salad with a big piece of tuna. The tuna was great! The only thing I would do different is put it in a big bowl. The plate it was served on was too small which made it difficult to eat without losing some of the food off the plate.Hubs got the fish and chips which I tasted and it was very good. The kid got chicken fingers which looked really good. This is a good place to stop for food. I'd definitely recommend it and would eat here again.

If you find yourself near El Campo don't miss the chance to have a wonderful meal, in a fun atmosphere, with good music and more!I had the best and biggest Chicken Fried steak ever!! It has such a light perfectly seasoned crust with tender meat. I'd never had Crawfish Mashed Potatoes before, they were great. Piete had their "proper" Fish and Chips, with sweet flakey Cod in a perfect crispy and light batter! Some places try to pass off catfish as Fish n Chips; if it isn't Cod it's not fish n chips. If you like Onion Rings be sure to get some here. By the way this is the cleanest country style restaurant I've ever been in. Be sure to stop by their candy store and indulge yourself!! We got a chance to visit with the nice family who owns and runs both!! We will be back often!

This must be a hidden gem because I have never heard anyone talk about this place. I have seen the name on the billboards but they don't do this place justice. First when you arrive you'll see an old gas station and trailer park. But once you park and walk up, it's like a nice oasis; like a mini escape. There is a large pond that have all kinds of ducks, geese, koi & catfish. They also have a vending machine to get duck food for $.50. We loved that! After eating we feed the ducks and the fish swam up too. Inside was plenty of seating, booths and tables. We sat at a booth and the table was beautifully decorated, made you feel like you were at the beach. I ordered the lunch catfish with crawfish mash potatoes, and the price was really good. Yall I have never had mashed potatoes like this!!! But i have eaten crawfish with potatoes so this was brilliant! It was SO good!!! The tea wasn't as sweet to my liking but I was so satisfied with my meal. I can't wait to go back and try more!

Perfect spot for some crawfish. They were perfectly done and just right spice. I got the boil special which threw in some shrimp, potatoes,Sausage and corn. A lot of food. Place is clean and nicely decorated in Cajun style. Check it out, highly recommended.

Stopped by on our way home and was beyond impressed with the food! Gumbo, grilled mahi, boiled shrimp and chicken strips for the little one. All delicious and good portions. Service was good and fun atmosphere.
