Pier 36 Seafood & Oyster Bar

Just wanted to say this is still a great spot for delicious seafood and cocktails. In early September, I had my birthday dinner with family here. And I popped in for a solo dinner on Halloween night. I'm always amazed they aren't more crowded because the service is so friendly, and the food is consistently good.Next time you stop in with friends, try the huge Pier 36 Appetizer Platter.

Such a disappointing experience. The food just wasn't good....at all. Came for date night and couldn't even get past appetizers. Wife started with a hurricane to drink and I got a watered down paloma. We ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms, gumbo, baked oysters, and the lobster bisque. Crab stuffed mushrooms- amateur hour. Wayyyy too much spinach and heavily seasoned to the point the oyster itself couldn't be found. It tasted like Lowry season salt. A big miss Crab stuffed mushrooms- came out looking like biscuits and gravy. Mushroom barely cooked and raw tasting, the sauce was nearly flavorless. It was an embarrassment to stuffed mushroomsLobster bisque- flavor was completely off and had zero lobster taste. The worst I've ever hadGumbo- actually pretty solid and the only thing enjoyable besides the Corona I bought while waiting for the check. This was literally the Walmart of seafood. I won't be back.

Good food, reasonable prices . Banquet room available for parties. Kid friendly. A little loud at times but fun. Location easy to find.

A sports bar atmosphere with a live band and oysters. I've head of Pier 36 and finally found my way here for dinner. It's a good place for oysters on the half shell and a decent meal. I from their cocktail list I tried their punch and loved that but the rest of my party didn't like their drinks at all on round two we all had punch so I recommend that. They only offered Gulf oysters but I really liked them. The rest of the meal was good. There was a live band that seemed to have a hard time staying in tune but I liked their selection enough to not mind. All and all I will come back and recommend this place as a fun bar and bite location

Doesn't disappoint. Food was delightful. Each dish comes jam packed with flavor, down home cooking, and a touch of spice. I missed out on photos of the crab balls and bread pudding--just too good to restrain myself from diving in as soon as the aroma overtook us. The red beans and rice were spot on perfect, and the Cobb salad with cilantro dressing hit nicely. Maria, our waitress, friendly, personable, and attentive. The manager onsite was inviting, swiftly greeted us, and made sure we were satisfied. The atmosphere offers variety--great for groups, lunch with a friend, drinks at the bar, or date night. Lovely. ps--as a Californian, the Austin Hope Cabernet was exquisite. I'm familiar with wines out of Paso but hadn't had this one but will include it in my rotation. Full bodied, sweet berry, smooth.

We love this place. I've been coming here at least once or twice a month for years. Always good food, nice music on the weekend and great specials.

Delicious food!!! Very happy with this place. The food here is great and my daughter loves the fried popcorn shrimp here. Very kid friendly

Server was great . Took him 2 minutes to bring out a bowl of gumbo . The bowl was disappointing 11$ for what looked like a rice appetizer. Plus a 2 dollar tip (wasn't his fault) no value for your money. I wouldn't recommend this place.

We had a wonderful evening with dinner and drinks. Our server was outstanding and the food didn't disappoint. I'm gluten free and although the menu doesn't list gluten free items they're very helpful on working with the customer about what they can do. I had shrimp scampi over rice and it was very tasty.

We were so disappointed!!!!! Our bartender really didn't attend to us his only clients at the bar!!!! he was more interested in taking care of everybody outside of the bar. My husband's food was great. Mine was OK. Changing the beer splattered all over my husband's face and his eyes. Never had such poor service here before!!! Even though I told my husband not to tip high, he did. Because we're not that kind of people. We won't be back again!!!
