So if you've never been to a Picadillys, its basically upgraded cafeteria food. The one in South DeKalb mall is pretty good, I go there during lunch due to 10% discount for state employees. And in my experience, the service has always been decent. The interior could use some updates, but I also like they have a decent size flat screen TV in the dining area.My favorite of all favorites is their carrot souffle. I had that today along with lemon pepper chicken and black eyed peas. Chicken was tender, flavorful, and moist, loved the carrot souffle as usual, and black eyed peas were just okay. Our server was attentive and kept checking on us. Overall, decent place for lunch.

Sad how all Picadillys are not the same. This deserves 2 1/2 stars. This location continues to go down. You can't even get plastic silverware with take-out orders at this location. Food is decent, when items are available. I wanted baked fish. Their version is 'pan fried' in lots of oil but advertising as baked. Opted for chopped steak. Plenty of chopped steak but no grilled onions available.

Celebrated my son's 1st birthday there 25 years ago, went back today for his 26th and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal!!! He had roast beef and I had Parmesan baked fish and both were excellent. We both had turnip green and their famous carrot soufflé. We also got a plate to go.

Go knowing what type of place it is. Large quantity cafeteria style food. School lunch style. It's the second time I've been to this location. The first time I got fried Gia's and vegetables. The fish wasn't crispy. I felt the price point wasn't worth it. Today I got a vegetable plate. Mashed potatoes, greens, black eyed peas and cornbread. Apple pie for dessert. That was 12.60 plus $3 tip. I didn't eat the pie. The first bite I could taste the can it came out of. The top crust was taste raw. The potatoes are instant box potatoes. You'll have to doctor them up with gravy or butter. The corn bread was good with the greens. I also enjoyed the black eyed peas.

I am a Southerner and absolutely love southern style cooking when it is seasoned well, but I am African American and got Southern and Soul momentarily twisted.I got the rare treat of liver and onions with broccoli and green beans. The liver was ok with a little added salt and pepper, but liver is one of those things as chitterlings that you love or hate. The green beans were straight out of the can, tasteless and over cooked, but not as over cooked as the broccoli, which was waaaaaay over cooked to mushiness and smothered with a tasteless cheese sauce. I did take into account that it only takes a few minutes to steam broccoli, but being that it is cafeteria style, it had been sitting in a warmer ALL day and the nutritional value was totally depleted, which defeats the purpose when you are trying to eat healthier and you can easily fill up for a lesser price and a greater quality. I also did not like the offer of bottled water only. Call me cheap if you want, but if a place does not offer free filtered water from their soda fountain, it is less than desirable. I tried to avoid looking around the restaurant for its cleanliness, however When I went to restroom to wash my hands, it could have definitely used some tidying up.Sorry South Dekalb Piccadilly, next time mom offers me a buy one get second half price coupons, Thumbs down and thanks, but no thanks. I see now why there are usually older people at Piccadilly's is because of the coupons in the Sunday paper for those that still read the newspaper

Knowing that this is a neighborhood staple and the sole remaining original business to anchor the mall, I periodically try to patronize them. After a few mediocre visits in the past 3-4 years, I'm pretty sure I won't be coming back. Typical fare, but my food was lukewarm at best. Annnnd my FREE chopped beef Kids Meal was the EXACT size as my $8 chopped beef adult meal. #failThe only saving grace was the checkout process w/ one cashier for CASH and another for ELECTRONIC...

Being relatively new to the South, I've never been to a "cafeteria" style restaurants before. I find it odd, because if you're going to dine out...why pay for cafeteria food? I come here one weekend a month because my Army Reserve unit has a contract with them to provide our lunch. The food isn't bad but very reminiscent of food from the Army chow halls. I can't really knock it because I'm not directly paying for it (but our tax dollars are)...so I'm writing this 2 star review as if I was a paying customer. Actually, our contract doesn't cover everything on the menu. If we want the good stuff like pork chops or dessert, we have to pay a little bit. Most of the fried stuff is covered though. Like I said, the food is ok, but too much fried stuff on the menu. How do they expect me to pass my PT test?!?! So on these drill weekends, I'm left to wonder which is the lesser of 2 evils: MRE's or Picadilly's?

Before driving to this Paccadilly's I looked up the menu to see if they served cabbage. The menu said they served steamed cabbage. They did not. After walking down the long sides of the restaurant listening to horrid ghetto singing piped music I came up to the serving line only to not see cabbage, steamed or otherwise. So I asked two people behind the serving line. No, they do not serve cabbage. I went to another place where they did serve cabbage, and it was not a Piccadilly's. A few months ago I stood outside this Paccadilly's inside the mall front door long after it was supposed to have opened for biz. They never opened the door, so I got a take out from the Chinese food court. In passing that Paccadilly's front door I noticed it still had not been unlocked. I will not be trying again.
