Tough to get knocked over in a gilbert/chandler as a foodie these days. We hit S&S on a ?Tuesday night? for the first time and were greeted by some insanely good cover music from Jeff Ocheltree. No need to play the song better than the artist, but I like to song and this is how I sing and play to it. WOW. I mean how often are you experiencing amazing live music in our town in the EV? I've never heard of Jeff before but I'd actually go to places to be able to enjoy his take on music. He will take your best song and make you think all over again every little bit of that song. Hard to explain but I'm a music snob and there is something there that others don't have.... not sure what that is but it is.... I wasn't drinking rum either so it wasn't love..... I'll figure it out. He does have some sampling and loop help but just let that go and focus on the end product..... it's so enjoyable. Then the lobster potstickers came. They may not have had a ton of lobster in them but they were some of the more tasty bits I've eaten in ages. The cocktails were spot on and my God this guy keep playing better and better tunes. Fearless, let me sing female vocals.... Fearless. "One more order of potstickers please" Sure another Paper Plane cocktail.... amazing.... well mixed... I love this song.... Food great, service great, music great, vibe chill. Well done S&S.

"Food for thought: Are mashed potatoes just Irish guacamole?" ― Kerry O'SheaLobster Potstickers ($18 - Lobster potstickers served with togarashi miso butter sauce): What is it about things being wrapped in dough that makes it better? Pierogis, wontons, raviolis, potstickers... ALL SO GOOD! IF there's a dumpling of some sort on the menu, there's a high possibility that I will order it. Having said that, these lobster potstickers were okay. The flavors of the sea got lost in the togarashi miso butter sauce. The sauce was just too aggressive, albeit quite tasty.Crispy Calamari ($17 - Lightly-coated deep-fried calamari served with jalapeño chili basil sauce): As Beyoncé once sang, "If you liked it then you should've put a [calamari] ring on it!" I want more rings... MORE! Both the seafood-y kind and the bling bling kind, haha! These are your standard, classic, calamari rings. No notes and nothing to write home about. Bowl of New England Clam Chowder ($12 - Sea clams, celery, and potatoes with some oyster crackers): They say that only the pure of heart can make good soup. The chef here must have a heart of gold then because what a great chowder! They are generous with the amount of clams here. Most people go stingy with the seafood but not Sea & Smoke. It was also full of delicious potatoes and vegetables as well and I enjoyed dumping my packets of oyster crackers on top.Mesquite Grilled Chilean Sea Bass ($56 - served with lobster mashed potatoes, broccolini, and lobster cognac cream sauce): I only had a few bites of this but I still have thoughts! First of all, the star of the dish was the lobster mashed potatoes. The sauce, like the case in their potstickers, was once again a bit overpowering. That sea bass was lost in the sauce and not in the good way. I wouldn't suggest this dish to a friend.2X Smoke Shows ($20ea - Old Forester 1897, Angostura Bitters, Maraska Green Walnut Liquer): The tableside flamethrower on the cherrywood chips alone makes this a fun drink to order. I love seeing the tendrils of smoke rain down on the amber liquid that is sure to pack a punch.Anejo Espresso Martini ($16 - Tequilla, coffee liquer, espresso, and toasted coconut): I honestly can't tell you what's all in it but it was an amazing variant on the espresso martini. Our waiter had detailed the three kinds of espresso martinis they had and when he mentioned toasted coconut, I knew this one was the one for me. It was great. Cheers!$172, after tax. Great meal, amazing vibes, and the staff is amazing. I would definitely love to come back here again!

I'll prefix my review that this restaurant has potential, but was a disappointing experience and do not recommend. I dined here last night during Restaurant Week(RW); made reservations for 7:30pm but was not seated until 8:00pm; were seated in uncomfortable outdoor patio furniture in a very tight bar area (several patio tables were added to fill the space); and had no service until a manager came over 10-15mins later.Ordered the following from RW menu:Ahi roll: ahi was cooked (atypical) but overall was goodCarrot & sage ravioli: good combination of flavor and big portion for a starterLobster tail: overcooked and small size; frozen lobster and did not taste freshChocolate cake: dense and okay

Came here on the last night of our Spring Training trip, and we were NOT disappointed! As "foodies", we spend entirely way too much time researching restaurants and menus before deciding on a place. We chose to stick with something walking distance to the hotel, as there were several solid options. Come to find out, they're all under the same ownership, and a few are even directly connected! AMBIANCE:This is definitely a nicer spot, but with chill vibes. The lighting is low inside, and they've got great decor and music. There is a fun photo-op wall near the bar on the way in, make sure to stop! They have an outdoor patio with string lights and heaters. It would be nice to sit out there if the weather was right!STAFF: We were greeted by the Area Manager, Jake. He showed us to our perfect corner booth and told us a little about the restaurant(s) and menu. Big shoutout to Jake for taking care of us and making our anniversary extra special! Our server, Allison, was super friendly and patient. Again, as "foodies", it can take a while to make decisions. Once the food comes, we gotta capture content! We appreciated her recommendations, and overall positive attitude! Part-way through our meal, Michael the GM, stopped by our table to introduce himself. He gave a little more insight about the restaurants within the area. We found out they also own Bottle & Bean, which we went to for breakfast earlier that day, and again the next morning! He made sure we knew he was around if we needed anything, and genuinely seems like a good guy!FOOD:We enjoyed everything we got! Unfortunately for us, there were 3-5+ additional options we were interested in trying! What we got:-Lobster Potstickers (Togarashi Miso Butter Sauce, $18) - These were INCREDIBLE! The biggest complaint was that there were only 5 in the order. The miso butter was super flavorful, and the potstickers were crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. It took everything in our power to not lick the plate and put in 3 more orders!-Firecracker Shrimp (Spicy Aioli, $16) - Another banger! The shrimp came in smaller, crunchy bites, served in a martini glass atop a slaw. It was coated in the Aioli, and you know we ordered an extra side for dipping! That was definitely the play, it was super flavorful! -Shrimp Scampi (House Tagliatelle, Butter Scampi Sauce, $35) - We enjoyed this! The flavor was there, and the shrimp was well cooked.-Macadamia Nut Mahi Mahi (Butter Braised Red Bliss Potatoes, Asparagus, Lobster Cognac Cream Sauce, $39) - My partner enjoyed this one more than I did. I liked it, but it wasn't my favorite. The cream sauce was unique and definitely enhanced the fish!-Crème Brûlée (French Vanilla Custard, Caramelized Sugar, Strawberries, $10) - This was an incredible way to finish a delicious meal! We're both huge fans of Crème Brûlée, and this was done perfectly! DRINKS:-S.J. Margarita (El Jimador Silver Tequila, Muddled Jalapeño, Strawberry Puree, Lime Juice & Agave) - This was delicious and refreshing! Love the combo of flavors, would order again next time! OVERALL: We LOVED our experience at Sea & Smoke. The food was delicious, the ambiance was on point, and the staff was incredible! Extra additional shoutout to Allison, Jake, and Michael for helping create a memorable evening! IG: @bbnem.food

We have been going to rock lobster almost every week since we moved to the area and wanted to really try it's neighbor Sea & Smoke. We were able to get a reservation and try it. We were sat in a nice booth and were greeted quickly. We ordered right away. The servers were very attentive which we really liked. Our fried rice appetizer was good and small enough to not fill up on it. Then we wait probably another 45 minutes for our main meal. Our waitress said there was a mix up and that's why it was taking so long. We both ordered filets, and the filets were odd. They were folded, I've never had a folded filet. The flavor was okay and so were the sides. Nothing special.

Not sure if we'll be going back. We decided to celebrate my mom's early birthday here last month. During this time, they were also doing restaurant week as well so two of us ordered from the restaurant week menu while the rest ordered from the regular menu. If you've done restaurant week before, it's basically a chance to check out local restaurants with their pre-fix 3-4 course menu at an affordable rate. With that being said, the portions are supposed to be the same as the regular portions they serve on the regular basis - at least that's been our experiences with all the restaurant week deals we've done since LA/OC restaurant week and 6 years of AZ restaurant week. So seeing that you get a different portion for very similar pricing here left a bad taste in our mouths.Speaking of bad taste in our mouths - the food was very underwhelming but nothing compared to the fly that was in my husband's wine that he almost swallowed.. imagine taking it out of your mouth and finding out what it was - gross! The server suggested he replaces the wine for him but at that point, he was no longer in the mood to drink it anymore.. he brought it out anyways against his wishes and that glass went to waste. We were still billed for it. He also asked my mom to pick any dessert she wanted for her birthday on the house and we also got billed for that too.. Half of the clams/mussels in my hotpot was still closed and one of our salmon was severely undercooked but burnt on the outside - they had to remake the salmon for us. The best thing we ate there that night was the fries from the kids meal... To make the matter worse, 2 of us had food poisoning from this place that night.I was rather disappointed because the restaurant itself was BEAUTIFUL and the atmosphere was such a vibe with live music and all. I really wanted to love this place. We also went rather early for dinner to avoid the crowd so they were not busy either.

Sea and smoke is a fantastic dinner spot in Chandler! Upon arrival we were told that all the seafood is flown in frequently and is very fresh. The drink menu was so cute and well designed. They had a wide variety of wine, beer, and cocktails. I ordered the DTO Sunset which was refreshing, light, and sweet! The appetizer and dinner menu offered fun and creative seafood dishes and a few red meat options. We ordered the lobster potstickers and they were easily the best thing we ate all night. The miso butter sauce was insanely good. We even ordered some bread and extra sauce to enjoy. For our entrees, I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass which was cooked perfectly. The two sauces it came with had wonderful flavor and the mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy. My husband ordered the Seared Sea Scallops with pork belly and potato purée. Also good but we both agreed the Sea Bass was better. For dessert, we ordered the pizza cookie which was overall okay. But honestly, by that time we were so full. Our server was kind and gave us great advice when ordering. She hinted at the bread/miso butter sauce idea and we are so thankful. They were attentive without being overbearing which we appreciated. Our only complaint is their booths are so tight! My husband is a big guy and I'm on the taller side and we were smooshed. However, they were quick to remedy and move us to a new table! Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would recommend for a quiet, cozy date night.

Was expecting to have a nice dinner here with some friends here. My friend had made reservations but we were told they didn't have room inside the restaurant although there weren't many customers inside. So we had to sit outside right by the parking lot which was off putting. We tried the pork shank which was very salty, and the fried sushi roll was very small. For what they charge, you'd think they could give you a bit more. Very disappointed with the whole experience and will not be back.

The food was solid. Service was a bit of a different experience. We didn't have a particular server throughout the evening. It was as if the servers were floating and just taking care of tables when they looked like they needed something. This led to the same questions being asked to us multiple times. Definitely different than what I am used to, but I wouldn't say bad. The water they served in a carafe was warm initially. My preference is ice water, but that was not their standard there. We had to request a separate glass of ice to create our own ice water. Not bad, just not what I am used to. We would definitely go back again.
